There have been a lot of interesting answers here, yet to my mind this was the one that made me think the most:
Dalu uzor:

hmmm, i really pity those who pity or abuse those dat speak against d pastors, na dem get deir mouth oo, God has d final judgemnt, i do not luk up to any pastor, i luk up to God, u cannot vouch or defend for somebody u do not knw anytin about, God knws d hrt of all men, so judge not for u may not b judged.

I thought this poster put the thing into perspective.
A pastor has no business permitting idolatry.
I've known some truly holy people and one thing they all had in common was to reject ANY honours or wealth.

But we live in different times now- with televised services and mega churches.
Swaying the masses has to be a powerful experience and then there's always the influence of the entourage.
I doubt I could withstand the temptations of those circumstances.
But I expect an MOG to do so.

FXKing2012:

But we never heard of any infighting, not until the MOG placed a curse on them and was bold enough to even make it public.

Was healing not instant in the Bible? Did u not see all the miracles in the Bible? And it was God who healed me using the man of God (pastor Chris) in the name of Jesus.

The fact is that you never heard of any infighting in BH.
Does that mean it didn't exist?

The fact is that radical groups tend to splinter over time.
You can see that over and over again when you start studying the matter.

This thread is about curses, not healing.

Every TRUE believer will punctuate every Word of God with Amen even if you dont understand it. Believe it, thats what you are called to do.

@FXKing2012,
So you attend boko haram meetings to know that have not been having these in-fightings. People have been cursing long before your bishop cursed and are still cursing after he cursed. You said he laid hands on the sick and they recover, how come he had to fly his wife out of the country for medical treatment when she was ill. He could have laid hands on her. People heard about him running his mouth against Boko Haram. Several people are doing the same thing. Several pastors, like Oyedepo, cursed boko haram in the comfort of their churches so drop this hero worship attitude.

In any case, we've over this nonsense of cursing before here:

I can't believe anyone here isn't aware that groups like BH are simply liable to periodic infighting.

What are you going to do now?

Think about your foolish idolatry is my advice.
Change your ways and live up to your faith.
And please stop cursing people who think differently than yourself.

I've shown you here at Nairaland you have no 'powers'.
Nor is your 'bishop' a MOG, according to your own definition.
Are you going to recognise this publicly now?

This week if heavy calamity does not come to you and your family members. then God has not called Bishop David Oyedepo. Good to know that.
And yes, I agree with you here:
Phocomelia has been known to occur spontaneously and the only drug which causes it is nearly impossible to obtain, even in the first world. The odds that the mother was to blame are nearly zero. I think she has more than enough problems already without having to deal with that kind of accusation.

Both the doctor and the journalist who printed this rubbish should be ashamed.

I see Wiki relates it to thalidomide use
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phocomelia

Is thalidomide still available in Nigeria?
Health / Re: Girl Born Without Limbs In Bauchi by PA1982(f): 9:32am On Jan 27, 2012
From the OP:

“The authorities must continue to educate the citizens on the bad effects of self medication,” he added.

Another poster has mentioned the possible effects of herbal 'remedies'.
However, no one has yet mentioned that the mother's possible exposure to polio could result in birth defects.
And I can't help wondering if there isn't thalidomide still available.

, Several toxins, medications and even vitamins are indeed known to affect limb development. The most notorious is thalidomide, a medication prescribed in the 1950s and early 1960s to help relieve nausea in early pregnancy. This led to a number of children, mostly in Europe, who were born with very short upper limbs, often with the hands attached up near the shoulders. These children frequently had severe deficiencies in their legs as well.
From http://www.amputee-coalition.org/inmotion/jan_feb_06/congenital_limb_part1.html

I'd like to emphasise the importance of decent medical care and education during pregnancy.
And yes, polio vaccination.
Please!
