Socialites, mostly females who are well travelled and wish to get into event planning business in Nigeria should contact me directly for free business tips. I am all about creating a niche,I understand event planning business is saturated at the moment but I think I can help serious minded individuals create a nitch in that business. You don't have to target people that are getting married only. I am not charging a dime for this advise, I just want to help you brain storm and give you other untapped options. I said serious minded individuals only because this business is cash intensed and it requires traveling abroad to buy some of your materials, this is not for low ballers, sorry.

You say collabo? Well, you know it's had to come by any one that operate at the same wavelength as honest as you can be.

I have only met one guy who share the same ideal as me and you know what? We have never met since 2008. We are just as close as twins from different mother. We call each other every now and then. I even called him today to wish him happy birthday. Thanks to facebook; we didn't even know what each of looked like.
He was the one I shared website flipping and he sold his first website at $399. He is the only one I trust.
Our greatest challenge has been finance.
There's even an idea I have that I know would bring me boat load of cash if highly targetted through the right medium and it can be expanded as well but I can share it.
One contacted me as if he wanted to get ebooks from me: you thought I would give him free since I once stated it here that I did share a link to download ebooks free but later deleted them.
In his email, he said he wouldnt mind paying for them since I had deleted them. I told him the cost.
And his last reply was that he would get in touch with me.
I said thank you as my reply. But I had this feelings that this guy had something up his sleeve. So I asked if he were really serious about buying the ebook or just picking brain.
Cunningly, he started saying something like starting up with N10 and that I will bring N5 and he will bring N5...
I wished him good luck in his search.
I wonder why people can't come up straight.
If you could find 5 real friends you are lucky. I would advise you keep to yourself for now because you have disclosed more information that expected. You are a student, capitalize of your knowledge for now and provide free info later later.

Things that are connected to a school. Tickets, space and what ever stuff that has a need exclude asking people for admission, this may kill the site. I am a business developer, what ever information I give out on NL could not fit inside my brain box, they are remnants . I may have to start selling ebook also....lol

2sexy: Guys we could a thing or two from this and harness the same drive that fuelled what you see here- - -> http://www.startupnation.com/Could-We-Create-a-Business-Together/topic/

this is a forum built on the same ideals as we have done, a capacity that is capable of turning tiny dots into a huge mass.
I have not come across this site before and reading through the thread I could tell most bloggers are Americans because they sound intelligent and honest. You are an intelligent Naija man, I wish I could do more to bring you out here so that you can explore your gifted talent. Information is growth, you seems to know a lot. Collaborate with guys that have same drive in Naija and then bring your knowledge to reality. I may need you in the near future.I am glad you are familiar with foreign blogs and not dependent on half baked information and individuals on nairaland(419).

2sexy: Pacemaker, if there's anything I am grateful for, its the fact that you believed in me from a million miles across the atlantics... You saw what those near couldn't see. This is why Nigeria will never rise--everyone is acting faster than their shadows.
I got another text from a nairalander just 2days ago... Guess what? He lost 70k to a Nigeria Internet market who he hoped would make him money. Alas! That was a wrong move. I can NEVER give anybody my money to make make money for me.
Knowledge is wealth my brother, from our conversation I saw an opportunity naijas can benefit from. Creating a free website for people to list their product as nairaland does. The said website will Carter to students from all universities and politechnics in Nigeria. Hint, students graduate every year in college, some of them don't like to take their beds, TV,Books and other valuables items home. This website can serve those that wish to sell their stuff as they graduate from school. Don't make it ambiguous, create a niche with it so it can serve it's purpose. I am looking forward to see some one jump on this, it will cost you money to create awareness thou via advert in schools, you may wanna start with the universities and Poly closer to your home town...

I will post ideas here as soon as they unfold.Whether pple will hijack or not these
ideas should bless somebody which is the principal thing. It occured to me that we can create a facebook group page for this movement so
that there can be more awareness and improved membership at meeting destinations.
Blogger is owned by google so they won't prevent ads from appearing on their sites. The only advice I can grant if you are to use adsense on blogger is to have about five correct articles posted on different days on
your blog and google will approve your adsense application.@2sexy.Where is your strongest point online? We could do a collabo.
It's all good bruv. I am here to spit knowledge for the benefit of my own people. I may not like the life style of some Nigerians but it does not make me less Nigerian. I was at the just concluded disrupt san Francisco, inventors, innovation, ideas and network were what made it a success. Nigerians should develop a habit of helping each other if they want rapid development. I used 2sexy situation as a case study, he is a student with vast knowledge, he promised revealing wealthy information if some one can get him a modem, everyone seems to ignore his plea but want his information.Information is expensive and that's why you see consultants charging a lot for a sentence . I showed interest in few African countries, I did research on them and finally found a business developer. He said in other for me to know what kind of business I can introduce to his country he will charge me 2500 us dollars, which includes making my product a brand name and direct link to buyers. We need to do away with secrecy, it does not promote development.

1. Any device manufactured is not aimed at 1 person alone.
2. Devices that perform such tasks are already on ground, I was just inquisitive to know if there were added features in this and maybe one can catch in on price.

Anyways thanks
Listen to 2sexy. I have revealed more information on this board that anyone here, no company has made this device except for the company I am dealing with. I was burned here on nairaland but it didn't stop me from sharing information on here . To be honest, naijas are less reliable In business settings. I had a legal contract to bring a device to nigeria with a Chinese company, I hate dealing with Chinese because they are dubious as Nigerians. Anyways, the company used a US address as a front to make customers think their product are superior, luckily for me the address is here in silicon
valley, I went to the said address and found out it was an empty office. I started having negative feelings and requested a sample of their product for feasibility studies which was paid for. They assured me of our legal binding, I gave them the benefit of doubt and then went ahead to publish their product on a Naija newspaper and also here on nairaland . Greedy Naija dealers saw this device and went to contact the dubious Chinese manufacturers, they then went ahead to breach our contract and went for the guys with fat pocket. I laughed last because I spent $2000 on advert and product samples while the Naija dealer spent over 40k on a product he has not sold upto 10 pieces. I found out about this because I went to their website, clicked their African distributor and then saw the information of the would be smart Naija business man. Meanwhile , the Naija dealer disguised himself as customer to seek information from my rep. I was in Naija at that period and told my rep the would be customer was the guy that went behind my back to contact my manufacturers and if she doubts me I will call him when I get back to states. As promised I called him and told him all I knew about him and that I am not mad at him but here to help him out if he has questions, he started crying and told me that he has been struggling with the product sales. I told him I did background check on that company and that their existence in US is false and after that I started casting doubt on their product, he was on disbelief. Today we are friends and I have promised to help him seek information and advise before venturing into any form of business . I threatened the company and asked them to remove the fake USA address on their website and if not I will contact the FBI, they removed it right away. Chinese people are greedy and dubious, I see how they " catch naijas mugu" all the time. They use their brown skin to make naijas assume they are white even Indians and Lebanese have joined in catching in from their Naija " maga" grin ......Peace out !!!

2sexy: You are right. I can be very creative.

The affiliate stuff I talked about is targeted towards Nigerians.

I also tweaked the idea for adsense and I am going to test both affiliate and the adsense. For the adsense, I will leverage on other people's sweat right here in Naija... Build and forget.

It's still a theory though, but thinking out of the box helps.

How much is the modem? I have a lot of school work to do at the moment, please let me know if some one got it for you by this coming Thursday. You are very exposed, I applaud how you come up with some information. In regards the writer, I got people out here that will do just that for me.

Bams95: pacemaker, great idea, but do i need to be a graphic designer to succeed in this business.

You don't have to be a graphic guy to do this, all you need is a website and the software that will help you customize your product. Contact local printers first and also tee shirt retailers or what ever goods you would like to sell before venturing into this. The software is a little bit expensive, you can get them for $400 or more.

@Peacemaker, reading your mail and I'm already thinking what I can do with the opportunity. I love anything marketing cos there's not limit to what you can earn so I think I will be interested in it (but that's after I understand how it works).
I have friends colleagues etc that have got ipads and other apple products and their regret has always been not able to readily share files with their other devices, even for me, that's the 1 reason I don't fancy the ipad, iphone or the ipod. Now I don't know if I should discuss it here or send you a mail (don't have your mail id though), but I need answers to some questions to enable me circumspect the viability adequately.

1. Will the file sharing be wireless or via cable?
2. Does the device need to be powered by the ipad, iphone or ipod or from a different source?
3. I will like to know the cost you'll be landing it if I have to buy from you (having it im mind that I am reselling so prices must be convenient)
4. Can the device be used with other devices apart from apple products?

other question might come later. My dear, if you decide to advertise it in the press, you will only end up having it flood the market because some rich investors and gadget and accessory business people will find a way to get to the source and flood the market with it. So I'll advice you create a niche of the market and get what you can now.

here is my email saintpatrics@gmail.com I'll await your answers. There is also a special type of laundry machine that I'll to inquire from you.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Got your Email and responded to it. Provided your intention are genuine, we will work on something together.

2sexy: Pacemaker, are you sure it's not an advert you paid for.

I am talking about an article written to educate people on something. Besides, newspapers are looking for free info to publish and I have never heard of any place where they collect money for articles. What would you say of all those opinion related articles published daily?

What about my campus press that send articles to The Nation monthly? My guess is that someone played you. I may be wrong though.

I think you should speak directly to the editor of punch.
Email: editor@punchontheweb.com
phone number:017647475

Do not reveal anything about your manufacturers in any of the article you write. Please study how reviews are written. This is how products are sold online and it's work for those who know how to write good reviews. You may choose to write one there in the US and I can recommend a very good American that will have it written for but it's not cheap. They may charge you as much as $50 for 1000 word review but what you will make from that article alone will blow your mind. This are professionals. I will speak with some top marketers at the international forum on your behalf about what you want to do and then relay their response back to you. They are ever willing to flex that business brain and help freely.
I will contact the punch guy in due time. The article was a sponsored article and you have to pay to have one published. I was not cheated brother, that's how advertisement works. Your campus is getting a free press because it has nothing to do with commercial product.

I thought a guy offered to buy you a modem? Anyways, I will write and submit a press release to punch. It's not for free, the last time I published one in naijas paper I paid 100k and what I got out of it was Nigerians going behind my back to contact my manufacturers instead of dealing with me directly. I spoke to the OP also, he seems determined but needs guardians which I can't do constantly cos of distance and time. MTN will like what I have to offer, I don't know anyone that works for anyone of those telecom co. Sharing file with multiple device using in built wireless mobile USB is something lacking in tablets and phones. It's like installing USB to your iPad. Focus on your NYSC for now and when you are done more opportunity will come your way. You got my info , I am open to helping those who wish to help themselves
Business / Re: Guys, Let's Talk Business by Pacemaker: 10:52am On Sep 09, 2012
[quote author=2sexy
Bro, I think it would be wise if you go the MTN route as you suggested because I can hardly trust some Nigerians in business. One smart move would be to use what we call FREE ADVERTISING. Write to media houses and radio station to have them interview you and talk about the benefit and features of your product. Write a lenthy review article for the same product and submit to Punch, Vanuard, The Sun, Guardian with your website intact. With this, you may end up having marketers contact you almost begging to partner with

you or be your marketer.etc. As simple as this is, it's very powerful if done right. But hardly do people use them. Come to think of it, you pulling a stunt on a nation wide sales. Did I just revealed a secret I want to use for my planned biz? Pacemaker don charm me o o o. *giggles*
Freeloaders? ah... Them plenty na. I get emails everyday from people asking for FREE info. But, I didn't learn these things free.

Beside, whoever send me the modem with subscribtion will have me to himself only.

I and 2ruink spoke yesterday and the guy was blown away. I answered all his questions to his satisfactions.

The truth is that whoever is smart should send the modem and subscribtion because you may not get this kind of opportunity again. And you will be left to deal with the half baked internet marketers.
Some people may wonder why I am asking for a modem and not money. The truth is that I know my stuff and I don't need to sell information now to people. But time is ticking to the close, a time when there shall not be free lunch from me. And that means, you may be forced to attend one of those seminars where you get nothing out it because they don't practise what they preach, just rehashed gabbage from read ebooks.
Another thing I realised is that most Nigerians are un-appreciative and this is a further reason why I wont be giving free info forever.
I made a thread to give out FREE quality ebooks(ebooks that cost money) for internet marketing purpose and I kept my words in exchange for willful donation to help me get the modem, that was long before I came here. People were viewing and possibly downloading the ebooks but not a single word as 'thank
you' talkless of a donation. Yet, this same people have screamed scam all over nairaland.
I am a cheerful giver and it was a result of giving my laptop to someone that had my modem broken.[/quote]
Thanks for the info. I thought some one offered to get you one?

Stay away from free loaders, this is why most progressive give naijas distance. Don't release any info to any one that you won't gain from. Got all your email, I am looking for telecom distributors in Nigeria, if you have reliable peeps I will partner with you on that. I have this wireless device that helps iPad, android tablets and wifi capable phones to stream or store files. People always complain of iPad not having USB and file sharing capability, this device can stream document, folder ,videos from tablet to phones . Easy solution for tablet owners worrying about their tablet not having USB port

stpat1: I tell you guys, there are lot of things people can do to make something. There is so much to be made with good thinking guys.
I have done some online stuffs, particularly and I must tell you the bitter truth. Is not easy and you must be really ready to work, and learn a lot of strategies for you to make something tangible on Google Adsense. With determination , you will be smiling to the bank soon.

On this forum, I'll like you to really think and look around and i bet you, you'll see a whole lot of stuffs you can do. either alone or jointly.

Lemme list a few stuffs here that I are tested and proven means of making money. Most of these where what I did when i was in Lagos and others were what I know people do.

1. Dry cleaning if you have access to abundant water. (the market is not saturated)
2. Supply of frozen foods. (chicken turkey, gizzard etc) Easier and better profit if you have a car or bus. Risky cos Customs don't accept duties on it.
3. Shea butter
4. Fruits (you'd be amazed. Don't ask me question on this cos I wont tell you) grin
5. Rice (very quick sales and turn over if you have a bus of your own)
6. Trucking (As I do here in PH)
7. Google Adsense (Only go for it if you are patient, ready to learn and do researches and not easily frustrated) this should not be expected to be your major source of income for like 4 months
8.Marketing of petroleum products (kerosene, AGO, Petrol)this is easier if you've got some money and links. It can be jointly operated
These are the ones I can tutor anyone on, or if you are already into it, i can give you strategies to make it better.

I prefer to answer emails cos I'm usually busy in the day and emails ensure I can be relaxed to really tell you what you need to know

Hope this little info helps.

Any Nigerian that wish to succeed should stay away from business that has something to do with electricity and internet. The percentage of computer literate iN Naija is less than 5 percent of the entire populace. People like Dangote will continue to make money of the common man that does not even know how to browse. Indomie is every where, Cowbell milk are sold daily in Nigeria, why not be creative and adopt such biz idea. Thanks for sharing.

2sexy: ^^ Thanks, pacemaker. I will not fail this board or group. Honestly, I initially thought this was one those failed discussion that have often . Infact, I saw it the very day it started but ignored but when I noticed that the thread had ballooned to page 3, I took a look and I felt the same connection I have often had at the international forum where I belong.

I have no choice. I have seen certain things that blow my mind and I keep wondering why we can't have the same here in Nigeria. One hidden secret in business is trust, which is widely lacking in the Nigerian business sphere. I will talk more about that later.

You may be amaze but I want to let you know that the reason behind all those start up in countries like US is because they take interest in helping each other.

Pacemaker, you are in the US, right? I see that you are a nice person and you are also opened to ideas. I also believe that you have other business ideas which you may have in mind and probably may need capital for. For your eyes only, I want to show you hidden secret behind most innovations in the US and hopefully, you may tap into it. I can't use it because I am not in the US.

Let me have you email to send it to you. My email is in my signature. Just look below, send an email there and alert me.

Trust and dishonesty are major issue amongst Nigerians and that is why I sometimes distance myself from them. I was born in the US but spent most of my childhood in Nigeria before relocating back to the US. Silicon Valley is my base, I happen to attend college with some of the big names you see on techcrunch.com and other major start up magazines. I am very pro black but unfortunately black people are not ready to release themselves from their comfort zone. 90 percent of start-ups in the states fails because of lack of funds or inability to compete, I don't see myself doing biz here. Although, I have a registered company here in the US and its been dormant for now because I decided to go back to school(MBA) to get more scope on how entrepreneurship works. When you say "hidden secret" what do you mean? I will be moving back to Nigeria in due time and hope to utilize the exposure garnered from my current environment. I listed my email on a previous thread, you can contact me through it.I strongly believe Africa is a Goldmine, there are lots of opportunities sitting idle in Naija, also information I revealed on here were just tip of the iceberg....I derive joy helping people out.

Nice gesture mr,OP. As soon as your meeting kick-start I will make some donation to your organization, the said money will be for telecommunication credit, data plan coverage for one of your conference meetings. Most start-up company owners are between the age of 23 to 35years old, why can't young and energized Nigerians do the same is the question I always ask myself. A progressive grass root movement is about to begin !!!!

Please don't give up, your barrier may be insufficient power supply. Till date the best form of advertisement is word of mouth. Ice block business is very lucrative here in the US.

DANILSA: I think another good biz is been a distributor, I could become a distributor for nettle water and other products. Before I left portharcourt I saw a new detergent which was only supplied by one guy, I then asked him to give me the company address so I could become a distributor in Abuja but the guy refuse, unless I buy from him,if I had gotten the address I could have introduced the brand in Abuja and followed up with an aggressive marketing pattern. But still searching for products that have not yet saturated the market and has an average capital start-up for distributors. All survival process, man must be independent of Oyibo work.grin

This is why I said naijas are silly, he does not want you to succeed. People don't know that secrecy kills business. Why not go online and seek for answers rather that waiting for him? What stops you from visiting Liver brothers PLC or what ever they are called these days?
Business / Re: Guys, Let's Talk Business by Pacemaker: 11:56am On Sep 04, 2012
2sexy: Look around nairaland and you will see ads all over. When you click on any of those ads, money goes into the account of nairaland.

But you can't make as much as nairaland is making as a start up, because they have come a long way.

The reason why people struggle at making money with adsense is because they take it as a hobby. The moment you see it as a business, the better for you.

The core secret of any successful internet business is content and in the realm of internet marketers who know their stuff, they say 'Content is King.' This means your ability to write quality informative articles that people would want to read such that it makes them stay longer on your website, reading and reading what you wrote and also have them coming back for more.

Of course, it has to be on a topic that people are interested in, something that appeals to large number of people and which they are seriously searching the web for information.

How do you know what people are searching for? You conduct what we call keyword research and find out by analyzing further. This should come first before setting up your website, mostly a blog.

After that, we go on to promote the website and then let people know that your site does exist.

Overall, it requires HARD WORK... Don't let anyone lie to you that it's ever easy to make money online. Internet only made money making simple and not easy. Money has the same rule, whether online or offline.

There's more to google adsense, but this is just a summary.

You just schooled me, I was not aware of this till today

DANILSA: Hahaha pacemaker and businesstool has turned this thread to a POWERFUL SEMINAR for hard-working and serious minded youths, I must SALUTE u guys for sharing ur wealth of experience and knowledge in a public forum like this. But I must state that I don't believe in stealing ideas, because the business one does depends on his ability, capital, location, knowledge, exposure etc. Pls let's keep the spirit aglow, I believe this thread will pay us in one way or the other, both the teachers and we students.@ pacesetter how will u feel to see nigeria becoming 8 largest economy and u contributed to it when young? Or businesstool imagine nigeria becoming south korea tomorrow. Thanks to Seun for creating this avenue, I don't go to facebook, twitter etc again the way I used to cus nairaland benefits me more. seun pls also help us Ban those pls u know are fraud stars to help improve ur site.

Nigeria becoming the 8 largest economy is a feel good feelings but in other for us to achieve it, a lot of sacrifice has to be made. Who knew Rwanda would be among the top ten developing countries in Africa? We all have a part to play in naija's development. I saw how Barth Nnaji was sacrificed by Naija politicians for their own selfish gains without thinking of his contribution to Nigeria's growth. The entire country needs mass orientation, not just our leaders.Nairaland is not managed very well, I can attest to it from the mentality of people that visit this site. A single user can have multiple handle without proper verification and this site is home base to tribal bashing which I don't like. We need some form of censorship. Talking about young generation, do you think the scammers found on NL are older folks?

Sometimes negative stories on News papers coming out of Nigeria can help an innovator uncover solution to some avoidable Mistakes that lead to loss of lives. I read about the Oil Tanker that exploded in Lagos and then thought of ways to combat such incident from happening in the near future. An Investor with open mind can read meaning to my discovery and ask a brother for tips. grin

stpat1: I love the responses of some guys I've met in PH towards biz. It shows that there are guys that know what they can worth and know the importance of networking.
I led the investors to the site today to see things on ground and know better how I hope to run stuffs with them. I not only appreciate them for the trust and confidence they have in me but I'm more gladdened that they took time out off their busy schedule to come see the site where it all happens. I pray that the good God will continue to prosper the works of our hands. Sometimes its not just enough to just have the money to invest, its encouraging to know that you understand the rigour that has to be passed through to get you you Return on Investment. (ROI). That's what I call partnership.
I am still waiting to get a considerable amount of guys in PH before we fix a time, place and date. Also if we get a substantial interested persons overall, we can schedule an online meeting on www.doxwox.com
saintpatrics@gmail.com

I am glad you did follow my advise and when you become the PH dangote, don't forget us the common men.....All the best
