TravelRe: Trump Plans To Add Nigeria To US Travel Ban List - Reuters by pacespot(m): 10:50am On Jan 22, 2020
This is why we need operation amotekun to protect other regions not yet ravaged by boko haram and banditry herdsmen. But I think Trump's foreign policy is driven by money not security. This is all business to America. Saudi Arabia, the progenitor of all terrorism, is one of the closest America allies, as long as they are getting their billions of dollars in weapons purchase. Nigeria panning towards China recently is also an extraneous factor in this travel ban move.

SenecaTheYonger:
This is why I maintain that Nigeria cannot be fixed. Because even if you fix the government to be as fair and partial as Jesus was, you can't fix the average Nigerians mindset - it's meaningless to even try.

The only hope is to start from the kids to teach them to have strong morals, to have a concience, to be able to feel for other people as if they're an extension of themselves.
Exactly my point, the Nigerian character or mentality is the greatest shithole in the country, nothing more to add. Once that is fixed, every other things will fall in place. Government is a reflection of the people. One thing I notice about black people is that they are too traditional or conservative, they are not rebellious, once something is given to them, whether good or bad, it becomes a reality of their existence, they don't fight for it to change, they will only adjust themselves to be a better or worse version of that thing.

I think it has a lot to do with civilization in Africa. Civilization is mental, not physical. Sometimes when I look at average Europeans side by side with Africans, I can physically see that one is more mentally developed.

Money, money, money mentality has killed this country

EzeCanada:
Dude, I am not hateful. I am very loving, truthful and progressive. I have Yorubas on my payroll and love everyone irrespective of tribe and background.

Your leaders are very cunning and deceptive. They tend to throw spanners in the works of their fellow southern brothers when it matters most. And your tribesmen tend to easily use course, abusive and derogatory languages when ever confronted with facts. They do not have the temperament and intellectual skill to engage in constructive arguments

For instance, to know how divisive and insincere your leaders are, if even in this current situation, a high profile leader from the fulani extraction ( someone in the calibre of Buhari for instance) happen to fly into Lagos today - Boudilion precisely - with a promise to hand over power in 2023, I am sure you will agree with me that this whole noise surrounding your so called Omotuken will die a natural death at the expense of other Southerners currently and innocently fighting your course as we speak.

So who is deceiving whom?
But this issue of amotekun is a different ball game. It is people driven, no leaders can afford to take the other side with people when it is the security of lives properties involved. Like south east often say that Yoruba's are cowards, Yoruba's don't joke with security, forget about politics. Tinubu cannot mess with the people over the security issue, he will be gone forever in the political space, there are many people looking for the opportunity to use this amotekun to usurp him in the south west political space.

Security is paramount to every living thing on earth, without it, the economy and other things will crumble.

OROSUNBOLB:
The same old tactic ! Alimi was a fulani spy sent by the caliphate to infiltrate Yoruba land and report back his findings in preparation for eventual invasion and conquest agenda of the Fulani caliphate. He settled down in Ilorin at a time when the Oyo empire had been terribly weakened by so many unnecessary internal conflicts and disputes. The empire was at its lowest ebb.

Afonja, the generalissimo ( Aare ona kakanfo) was quite ambitious and very rebellious. He had stopped taking order from Alaafin Aole. Alimi, the Fulani man was aware of all these facts. He was quite aware of the strengths and military prowess of Afonja and his warriors. He knew that there was no way the Jammahs ( caliphate warriors) would invade Ilorin and conquer the seasoned and battle hardened Afonja and his men. He thereafter devised a way and became overnight friend of Afonja. He quickly won Afonja's trust and became his adviser !

Remember,Alimi was a Fulani military spy who disguised as an Islamic scholar in Ilorin. Having studied Afonja and his men, he realised there was no way the invading "jonmon" could overrun Ilorin. So he offered Afonja the most devilish advice that cost him his life. He advised Afonja to sack all his warriors that he would supply him with "able bodied men" for him to realise his ambition of forming his own empire independent of Oyo. This is the same advice the same Fulani people are offering us again today ! Amotekun !!

Long history cut short,Afonja sacked most of his men and he replaced them with Alimi's men- the jonmon ! At a point, the jonmon became quite troublesome and stopped taking orders from Afonja. They did whatever Alimi asked them to do or not to do. Prior to the invasion of Afonja's palace and his eventual dethronement and death, Alimi withdrew all Fulani warriors from the palace. Afonja was left with very few Yoruba warriors; he was exposed.

On the day of the palace invasion, Afonja's men were grossly outnumbered. The ratio was like 30 to 1! Afonja gathered his remaining Yoruba warriors in the palace and faced Alimi and his men. He and his men fought gallantly and was able push back Alimi and his men, several meters away from the palace, to the junction where he was eventually killed. Afonja was so brave that he fought and died on his feet such that the Fulani jonmon were even scared of touching his dead body.

Alaafin was aware of everything that was happening in Ilorin but refused to give orders to his war Generals stationed in Ibadan and its environs to assist and liberate Afonja. He already placed a curse on Afonja and his offsprings that they would be treated like strangers on their own land.

Alimi received orders from Gwandu, the then seat of the caliphate, to march southward and conquer other Yoruba towns and cities. Alimi's men met their waterloo at Osogbo (1840) where they were crushed and suffered heavy defeats in the hands of Oyo soldiers ably led by the Ibadan Generals. They locked down Ilorin for months and could have taken it back without any fight but the Alaafin refused to give order to that effect. He used that to punish Afonja for his rebellion. The closest town to Ilorin is Ganmo and the traditional ruler of that town is an Oba- not an emir. That shows that the Oyo soldiers could have taken over Ilorin if they had been given order to do so.

I am Yoruba,an Amotekun !

The descendants of bandit, land grabber and terrorist called Uthman Dan fodio should know that Yoruba people will always be a thousand and one miles ahead of them in all ramifications.

The brouhaha on the pages of newspapers and the internet is needless. If anybody truly wants to stop Amotekun, then they should be the guests of Ode Ibiles and the Agbekoyas in the deep forests of Oodua land. Please don't forget to come with your AK 47s and other assault rifles. It will give us the needed platform to demonstrate what we are capable of doing.

Amotekun is here and cannot be stopped by any bandit from the plateau of futa jalon in Guinea.

Amotekun ! Ogboju Ode,gbogbo ara kiki oogun !
I like this your narrative, though society is now modernized, we have modern police, military and para military comprised of all tribes. Hope Yoruba's can learn from history, but Nigeria unity is also important. But the invasive attitude of these Fulani's needs to be put to check.

Except Yoruba president, you never heard anything of such during obasanjo presidency. Yoruba's are more dynamic, civilized and tolerant than any tribes in the country. That is why some people misread Yoruba's accommodating nature as cowardice, watch how Fulani terrorists will pee on their pant with this operation amotekun. These Fulani people have imperialist agenda in the country, i can say this with 100% assurance. Their way of life is, if you accommodate us too much, then we override you in your own land, just like they overrode afonja in his Ilorin empire. Wrong analysis.
Ekun is Tiger, an animal need not be local before having a local name and in science
parlance you don't rely on one evidence to make a conclusion.

Ekun gains its reputation by being ferocious and strong and even seen as a rival of the lion.
No person with knowledge of wildlife will compare a leopard to a lion in any way when an
an average lion could snap a leopard's neck if it got the chance.

Only the tiger can match a lion muscle for muscle and pound for pound.
Yes, leopard can't stand lion in a physical combat, lion will win. But both of them hunt separately. That is why Yoruba use the adage that "instead of lion to rule the leopard, both of them will go their separate ways"

I think leopard is ekun, while cheetah is amotekun. I don't know the Yoruba name for tiger, tiger is the strongest and the biggest of all the cat family.

So in your mind you think Ilorin can't be taken back, I hate talking with weak people. Nigerian topography and landscape show clearly Ilorin is part of Yoruba land, it is on the side of river Niger that belongs to the West. With a simple social and political restructuring, the region is going back to Yoruba's. Even most of the people currently in Ilorin are Yoruba's, it does not even require any military solution.
PoliticsRe: South-West Governors Move To Legalise Amotekun by pacespot(m): 4:29pm On Jan 18, 2020
Only God knows the Fulani agenda for this country, maybe their aim is to colonize the rest of this country and turn it into their caliphate. What is wrong in regional police or community policing, especially in the face of Nigerian security challenges? Even the US practice state policing. We need to take back the kwara state from these evil nomads, Ilorin is an ancestral Yoruba land.

If you don't get my message in that comment, then there is nothing I can do to help you. I intended that comment as a social reawakening of blacks (not only African Americans) and what is needed to be done to overcome the barrier of racism or any form of racial discrimination against them. The state that Africa is today is most part responsible for discriminatory practices against blacks in the world, that until the continent is developed, there is no way that black people can be truly independent. Chinese were once discriminated against and bullied, but look at where they are today. Nobody is going to build Africa except the blacks.

The only tribe known for backstabbing are the Igbos who have backstabbed all Nigerians even themselves.Only a coward will say people say that I can fight but always runs away when fight comes.

What you have termed as betrayals of Yoruba to Igbos is this...

Awolowo,a politician allegedly said Yoruba will secede if Igbos are allowed to secede. An intelligent person will know that a politician without ammunitions is a bloody civilian. If any Igbo believes that Awolowo was going to fight with his agbada, then he is a dumbo. The truth was that Awolowo advised Ojukwu,a military man not to go to war and as soon as Awolowo left,Ojukwu betrayed him by declaring secession... as if they both planned it.Awolowo was saved by the whiskers.
Now apart from this, tell me another of your cooked up betrayals..

These are verified Igbo betrayals to Yoruba,South,North and the whole Nigeria...

1.Azikiwe betrayed the South to give power to the North.

2.Igbos later backstabbed the North and South by killing their leaders.

3.Aguiyi Ironsi betrayed Nigeria by foisting Unitary System of govt on the populace with decree 34.

4.Igbos betrayed Nigeria by supporting Abacha through the 1millon people march.

5.Igbos betrayed the South by always voting for the North.

6.Igbos betrayed Yorubas by voting for Tofa, another Northerner....

The list goes on...
I'm not Igbo, but by the account of history, they said awolowo was betrayed by his own kinsmen.
