dometome:how do you measure that, you calculate economy based on dollar which is USA's domestic currency. Even at that, China is closing up with America in nominal GDP. The real GDP is calculated in PPP (purchasing power parity) which takes into account price variations and inflations in each country, for instance, an iPhone is twice as cheap in China compared to USA, but nominal GDP will say, with the same product at hand, a user of iPhone in America is twice as rich as a iPhone user in China. In terms of real GDP (PPP), China is head and shoulder above the United States, 25 trillion GDP compared to USA's 20 trillion. |
China is the future, no wonder the west is livid. |
boostdom:forget it, some politicians use other bank customers' accounts to move money illegally out of this country, especially students' accounts. If you spend that kind of money, nothing will happen, because it is a secret transaction. Back in the days in school, millions of naira suddenly appeared in some students' accounts, even upward of N40m, and the money stayed there for 2-3 days. Aome withdraw tens to hundreds of thousands of naira out of the money, due to ATM limitations, and nothing happened. A lot is happening in this country bro. If you find that kind of money in your account, it is most likely you are dealing with a politician and the money is secret. |
Juliusmalema:what do you mean by history? I learned the first hand story of the coup from an elderly Igbo man, he was right there when the incidence happened, it was an Igbo coup, the man in his 70s, proclaimed. I have so many Igbo friends, but the characters I read on this forum differ from the igbos I use to meet on a daily basis. Mind you, I'm not into this politics thing, you can read my previous comments to confirm this, I'm always far from politics on this forum, but when I see the truth being denied, I'll speak up, I'm an advocate of truth. if the incidence that's so significant in the history of Nigeria is being denied, the incidence that plunged Nigeria into long decades of military coups, you can't expect me to keep quite. So that's my take, don't rewrite history. |
Juliusmalema:it was not an Igbo coup, but the coup cleared the road for Igbo rule, the guy even showed you his Wikipedia page that he was born to Igbo parents and you keep denying. If Goodluck Jonathan did the same thing, you guys will deny him that he is not an igbo man, but you are here bleating today over Bihari because he took over power from Jonathan. |

uprightman:Go to your AdSense account under "Payment," you will see your contact address under "Payment Settings," then change it to your Nigerian address. Or do you mean you created your AdSense account as USA, that means you will have to go through one of the verification details for US AdSense to verify your US address. |
exporters101:how do you fund your AdSense account or top it up? |
Tongsman:or second attempt, it depends, so you're not left hanging |
Tongsman:or second attempt, it depends, so that you're not left hanging with the verification |
exporters101:what do you mean by "top up"? I hope you don't mean by illegally clicking your AdSense ads |
Akosa007:You don't need PIN, you can verify your address directly by uploading your Voters card or National ID on this page, make sure the contact address on your AdSense corresponds with the one on your ID https://support.google.com/adsense/contact/id_verification Receiving your PIN via postal mail in Nigeria can be a heck of trouble. |
emmyw:That is if you are paying online with a Naira Master card. Do they convert dollar to Naira at N350/$1 while receiving your money? |
Nice initiative, I hope they won't give Yahoo boiz free internet access. |
Don’t hit on that blue button just yet! You’ve just come up with a ‘masterpiece’ on your blog and ready to hit on the blue button and send it all out across the Pacific, so the little kid in the front of his old Mama’s PC could read. Sure, I know how it feels. But, before you hit a Sledge on the publish button, read this: 1. Optimize your post for the search The Google search engine is the largest driver of traffic to content sites. But, it’s equally competitive. A study shows that more than 2 million blog posts are published in one day. So, If you don’t optimize your post for the search engine, then getting a piece of that cake is a tough nut. ● Relevant headline – The headline must capture the full context of your blog post. Or else, your visitors won't stick on your page resulting in high bounce rate. A high bounce rate or pogo-sticking causes the Google’s bot to drop your page faster than a rock. How do you optimise your headline for search engine? Here it is: ● Moderate length - Based on a research conducted by, the optimum length for a blog post title ranges from 65 to 70 characters. ● Use keywords but No stuffing - I agree, the SEO world is a new world. The days of strolling to Google's front page with keyword stuffing is gone with the rockets. Okay, this may shock you! A recent study by SEMRUSH shows that there is not much correlation between google ranking and keyword density. So, what do you do? Include your target keywords naturally within your content. 2. Optimize your Post for the people - social audience It’s the social world, and majority of your target audience spend at least a quarter of their 24 hours on the social media. So, It’s not enough to just optimise your post for search engines. You also need to optimize for the social medial audience. But, how do you optimize your post for your social audience? I'll show you how: A study by Sumo shows that headlines that trigger any of the four major emotions are more likely to go viral on social media. A study by the NewYork times on the psychology of social sharing shows that there are 5 major triggers that influence social sharing: To use that to your advantage, use one of these three tactics of headline optimization in your title. ● Headline inversion ● Mild confrontation ● Promise Elements ● Numbers ● Power words ● Questions 3. Arrest Your Readers Attention With Your Introduction The introduction must be precise, concise and straight to the point. Here’s what I mean: Your blog visitor must know what to expect from the main content by reading your first paragraph. A boring introduction makes a visitor squeeze his face, calls the author a "Panda" and hit on the back button. Now, that's another return traffic gone for good. Here’s how to start a good post introduction A great introduction may feature any of the following elements... ● Start with a striking fact and statistics. We all love statistics – In fact most blog readers do. Again statistics have been known to go viral much easily on social media. ● Direct a question to your reader E.g Do you know that.... or Have you ever thought of ... etc ● Echo a popular belief E.g “We all know that....” ● Tell a short, quick and related story ● Invite your reader into the context of the post Why is this important? I will tell you... A study shows that 55% of blog visitors don’t stick around for more than 15 seconds. Yes, that same study shows that it is much easier to get people to share a blog post than to stick around and read. Now, don't break a cup of glass. It's called the goldfish effect. i.e low attention span. So, what do you do? ● To keep them on your blog, you must arrest their attention. One way to do that is to use the psychology of emotion. So, here's the trick, If you poke on their emotion early enough by writing an interesting introduction. So, how do you do that? 1. Tell a short Story 2. Share a short peep into your personal life 3. Share a captivating Statistics 4. Start with a Mild confrontation 5. Trigger any of the 5 major human Emotion 6. Ask Questions 4. Create a Simple Structure for Your Blog Post It’s a rat race! Yes, I have heard some blogging peeps say that cliche as much as the Springboks loves to hop. To beat the race, you must come up with a lot of contents and more contents. But hey, before you sing 'beat it', please note: If you don’t structure those posts you send out from your blog properly, you may find yourself losing return traffic as much as you are going all out for them. But how?: ● Write the main ideas of your post body on a piece of paper. ● Break your ideas into content blocks or subheadings. ● Avoid a wall of text. Break each block into paragraphs. ● Connect your paragraphs with transition words to improve flow. ● Avoid repeating a single word more than 2 times within your post. ● Back up each block with relevant statistics, but don't go overboard, by throwing data around like it's some sort of a rat hole. To make your post easier to read, you may use the inverted triangle writing format. That means making your major point clear early enough. 5. Use facts and studies to back your claims Even though your visitors want to read your voice, but you may soon get them bored if all you talk about is just your opinion. No facts to back it up! You know how it feels? More like repeating the same old flying Dutchman story. It soon becomes boring. One way to avoid that is to reference other peoples opinion by backing up your posts with data, studies or quotes. I recently studied a list of some of the top authors and I discovered something intriguing. Ramit Sethi is one of the top writers with a genius persuasive skill. But, here's what I discovered about Ramit' writings: “He digs into research studies” Using well-proven facts, research data and statistics is a good way to prove your claim and build your blog brand trust. Now, if you read through most of Akinade's post here on Socialmedialverve, he uses the same strategy. So, what do you do? ● Dig into research studies ● Back up your claims. ● Your opinions are cool, but no one cares much if all you ‘ve got to say is yours. Fesomu:Exactly, if he had played politics, saraki wouldn't have emerged the senate president. Nigerians didn't vote for saraki but the man took the center stage immediately Buhari was declared president. The president wanted to play fair, but saraki took advantage of him. Sometimes to serve people, you need to play some politics especially in a country like Nigeria where most people are still far behind the civilized world, look at how saraki was using paid protesters to sabotage the court process against him. Tinubu was the greatest loser of all this political game, imagine you built a house and someone snatched it away from you in the middle of the night. |
IslamicRebel:do you know the difference between "need" and "want." can an average Nigerian afford hundreds of dollars to ride a high-speed train in this economy, not alone the billions of dollars the project will suck from our national budget, in a country where people still clamouring for 3-square meal per day. |
we don't need these trains right now, we have other pressing issues. China is a country that is 10 times larger than Nigeria, so they need all high-speed trains they can get. |
Lol , even if she was sincere about the autocorrect that means she has been typing the word "niggerish" on her phone to insult other fellows, that's why her phone autocorrect "triggerish" to "niggerish"But we Africans have been paying unnecessary attention to slight words like this, that's why people keep using them. When we can stymie the impact on us as if nothing has happened, then that is when abusers can stop. Or, if someone called you nigger, call her Gringo or whitey. After all, I see African American addressing one another as niggers. |
nice initiative, but some people will still prefer the comfort of handheld selfie stick which allows for moving the phone around as you want |
nice tips, thanks. But won't that follow and unfollow thing be seen as spam? |
The downfall of these western countries will be that they are less interested in learning about others than others are learning about them. Call it lack of proper education and preoccupation with oneself, you are still on point. They see themselves as superior to other people, even the Chinese until lately, and that has helped China to usurp them at the global stage because Chinese know more about them than they do China. So it is the same with Africa, this should be an advantage for us only if we can capitalize on it. |

inviting her to the panel reeks of insincerity on the part of the authority since she is only a blogger reporting the news she found online. Was she there when they were doing the thing? They will surely find something to frame her up with this. |
