u keep claiming rigging. . but it can be seen who rigged. . .clearly from the last words of the dying man that it was the CPC. . .

From under age voting to forcefully intimidating workers to vote/thumb print for CPC. .

Frankly speaking Buhari and Bakare have blood on their hands. .

and i do believe that u are a heartless individual. . no more jokes pls. . .

No ones ambition is worth any life

The problem for u going forward is that most Nigerians from the SS, SE, SW, and NC.  have such a bad image about u and your kind

and it will be hard for u to get to power in the center after this. .

I suggest that like the yoruba. . u concentrate on cleaning up your home states. . in the far North. .before u dream of ever ruling Nigeria again

afterall charity begins at home

u are only showing to the world how barbaric your kind is. . .at the end of the day Most of Nigeria will move on and continue to prosper

The choice is yours. . .

Nairaland is a yoruba owned website. . .

Most of the innovations and good things happening in Nigeria is done by the south and middle belt. . whether music, movies or even soccer

why not make yourself useful to Nigeria for a change

Let the hausa/fulani man invent something. . .be productive. . .go to school. . .be a force for good in Nigeria
Instead of this evil we see on a recurrent basis

May this young mans soul rest in peace. . .

and may God have mercy on you and your kind. . . . cause vengeance will surely come for this soul

Kobojunkie is an unemployed man living in Ohio USA(the worst state in the union i may add). . who recieves welfare checks and has too much time on his hands

she poses as a female on Nairaland. . and argues blindly most of the time

Now most of u should just ignore her. . .i did so long ago when i realized i was talking to a braindead. . .brickwall. . .

before the elections she was busy defending IBB. . .when IBB lost she switched to Atiku

In the past she has never seen anything good that Fashola has done in Lagos

when we provide links of Eko Atlantic city and light rail projects she insists the Governor is not touching the lives of the people. .

Take any rational point of view and she will delight in taking the opposite that makes no sense. . .

she might actually be boderline insane. . but thats Neither here nor there

most unemployed people in the USA have mental issues. .

so again,  ignore the junkie. .

He tried to hide under the guise of being a real patriot, someone that loves the country first and himself second.
then, loses an election, CLEARLY. Even if GEJ rigged or didn't rig, people are happy the GEJ won, it's VERY clear he's the people's choice and he did no campagning in the SS and SE and barely in the SW where there was a weak crowd showing and most ppl didn't know he was running.

but instead of putting the country first and calling off these rioters he comes out and claims the elections were rigged using rigged computers while innocent people are dying and churches are being burnt in the name of his ambition.

It's not even his inability to accept defeat like the dictator/savage he is, it's his ugly inability to put the country first and calm the bloodshed BEFORE crying about his personal lose.

what a coward. what a disappointing, typical, typical coward.
i don't know why nigeria like manning its military with cowards, but all the men of the generation that is fortunely dying off and becoming irrelevant, complate cowards. look at their actions, insecure cowards.

my only consolation is that the coward is finished politically. . and as for tunde bakare. . .he is worse than judas

This is someone whose posters was being ripped apart by buhari ignorant supporters. . chanting we want a muslim. .rejecting their own VP canidate cause he is christian

@Onlytruthlies, I dey kampe. Enjoy your gloating, olodo.

I'm happy that Nigeria conducted the best organized presidential election in our history and I congratulate Jega for his heroic acts.

My disappointment is that PDP decided to rig blatantly causing the electorate in the North to be enraged. PDP officials should have known that the elections were for the taking when the CPC/ACN merger talks collapsed.

Violence is not the way to address the rigging issues, lets go to court and show some civility, despite the fact that we all know what the outcome of the lawsuits will be. The methods used for the riggings must be exposed so that we can take preventive measures in 4 years.

We must give the President our full support because the future of our children and grand children is at stake. We hope the cluenessness exhibited by GEJ in the past 12 months or so were simply due to inexperience.

As for you, Onlytruth, you have your Igbo presidency, so lets not hear about this issue until at least 2024. dalu o.

Ndu chuks. . i voted in Lagos and Jonathan won Lagos fair and square. . .Now i see Lagos as a mini Nigeria. . .

the win rate in lagos for PDP was about 60%. . same as the national rate

honestly Buhari was lucky to even get 1 vote in alaigbo. . .goodluck is fanatically supported by the igbos

In my polling unit in Lagos. . .about 40% of those who came out to vote were igbos. . i know cause they spoke igbo

The point i am trying to make is your man lost fair and square. .so tell your boys to cool things down

or else we may be forced to take laws into our hands. .over here down south

I wasnt in the country in 2007. . but i heard the elections were the worst in Nigerias history

while this one of 2011 is adjudged as the best. .

now i cant recall any riots up north against yar adua. .when buhari lost in 2007. .

u see we see through all your facade. . and behind it is the born to rule mentality. . couched neatly in a religious toga

that wont fly today though. . .we have no fly zones in libya and UN troops in ivory coast

while Kenyan politicians are being held in the ICC. .

So again tell your politicians to put a leash on their attack dogs. .

ShangoThor:

Southern Nigerians have spoken, whether they participated by voting or chose to abstain. They do not want a Northern led government, period.

Ignore this at your peril.

The North is burning because Northerners in general feel cheated out of their birthright to rule this Union, and yet some get carried away on NL
by refusing to acknowledge the existence of a 'South'.

Put it this way, the riots are not due to the fact that they want their leadership to modernize this country, or put them in a position to generate
wealth in order to contribute to the wealth of the Nation, it's just about ruling the country, which is symbolic, they don't care if it's a democratically
elected govt or a military led govt.

Enough is enough, and those that sit on the fence are equally responsible for the status quo.

you said it all . . .how some clueless southerners on nairaland ever thought of voting that fossilized human being called buhari is beyond me

THEWILL Projects That Goodluck Jonathan Will Win Presidential Election
Font size: THEWILL. 17/04/2011 07:03:00

PROJECTED WINNER OF NIGERIA'S APRIL 16, 2011, PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, INCUMBENT PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN.

SAN FRANCISCO, April 17, (THEWILL) – With almost 36 states reporting their results for the 2011 Presidential election, THEWILL can conveniently project that incumbent President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will win the Presidential election defeating his closest rival, General Muhammadu Buhari of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).

THEWILL’s projection was made following exit poll numbers from the election with more emphasis on the core northern states where the CPC candidate has his strongest support. With the results from Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Sokoto, Bauchi, Kaduna, Zamfara and Kebbi already in, General Buhari has been unable to erase the massive deficit handed him in the South South, South West, and Middle Belt, where he was unable to win a single state.

With results from Yobe, Kebbi, Niger, and Borno still being expected from the core north base of Buhari, even if he wins 90 percent of the votes, he still has a huge deficit to deal with.

However, President Goodluck Jonathan from the exit poll figures available to THEWILL, won in the entire South except in Osun State, where the Action Congress of Nigeria candidate, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, scored his only victory.

Goodluck Jonathan also won in two northern states; Kwara and Adamawa; and the Middle Beltan states of Taraba, Plateau, and Benue as at press time, plus scoring the highest number of votes cast in the election.

Dr. Jonathan also easily fulfilled the mandatory 25 percent of the votes in 2/3 of the states of the federation as required by the constitution

Voting in the election was however done along ethnic and religious lines as voters from the predominantly north voted for Muhammadu Buhari, a retired army General and Muslim, while the predominantly south voted for Goodluck Jonathan, a Christian from the oil rich Niger Delta area.

That was my earlier question:

1) If Tinubu had the ability to sell SW votes, how did he change millions of minds without the media or any mental force? It's simply impossible.

2) Not only Lagos voted for GEJ in millions, could it be remotely possible for Tinubu to change their mind? NO

GEJ was not the best choice, but I guess SW was content from last saturday and they decided to reward GEJ for a free and "fair" election. Possible expl.

The bolded is the first sensible thing u have said in this thread. . . tongue

yea i imagine the ppl of the SW. . .feeling like GEJ can be trusted, esp for his free and fair elections

remember the president appoints the INEC head. . .and if we get someone else he can easily appoint a crooked character as INEC head and we are back to square 1

so yes SW and ACN voters voted for their interests in a way. . .hoping to win OYO and OGUN next week. . .

and keep all the SW states in the kitty in subsequent elections. . .

u claim the NASS were also rigged. . . so why didnt ACN stuff the whole ballots and inflate their figures?. . .

dude i am in the country i voted. . .waited and watched them count in front of everyone

afterwards all party agents signed and acknowledged the results. . and after that it was pasted for all to see. .

Meanwhile accreditation before voting means that only the number of people accredited will vote. . .

eg if 133 ppl are accredited in a polling unit of say 600. . .then only 133 ppl will vote

and results for that unit cannot exceed 133. . .

ppl just shout rigging as if people are zombies. . .

Thanks jare. Because I didnt get that one that bluetooth was yarning about lol

Ah ahnnnn, that is foul and illegal. Why would they want Bakare to step down? Why did they want that presidential seat so bad?

Are you sure that was the reason? From what I heard, the suggested plan was for Buhari to step down for Ribadu so that most of Buhari's voters will transfer to Ribadu. I did not know that it reached that level o.
And surprisingly, even when it's unconstitutional as you said), Nigerians on NL were still clamoring for this "step down"? They will never learn.

If you were on ground in Lagos u would have known that GEJ would win massively here

I have been telling everyone on NL that GEJ will win LAGOS. . but they didnt listen

Most people said Fashola for Guvnor. . .GEJ for president. . thats their choice

All this noise about ACN selling out is BS. .

For one Ribadu is not a popular or good candidate to begin with

He also messed up by agreeing to stand down for buhari who is loathed in Lagos(For canceling the lagos Subway project in 1983)

That turned a lot of would be ACN voters off. . and most voted for PDP. . .

Also Lagos is 40% igbo so they pulled their weight too. . .

Jonathan scored over 1Million votes in Lagos. . thats no mean feat. . and cannot be explained away by useless conspiracy theories

GEJ is not likely to win in Niger, Kaduna, Nasarawa and Adamawa states.

It may play out these ways:

Buhari wins more votes cast ( because of the cheer numbers of votes cast in the North as against the one in the South ).

Jonathan wins more states the whole of South and 2/3 states in the middle belt area.

Buhari will get 25% of votes cast in Lagos, Oyo and in all middle belts area,

You may try to crunch these figures to see my point that we may end up going to second round of voting in for the presidential election.

What do u think?

ADAMAWA:

PDP Presidential candidate, Goodluck Jonathan wins Government House Yola polling units, waxing strong in all senatorial districts, projected to win Adamawa State.

http://thewillnigeria.com/politics/8251-THEWILL-Presidential-Election-Room-Live.html

which North are u talking about. . .i am telling u that GEJ is winning Northern states of Taraba. . Adamawa (see news and link above), Kwara. . Plateau. . Benue. . .Kogi. . .and maybe Kaduna. .

plus all the 17 sourhern states. . . .so tell me where will your run off come from? . . .

Lagos alone will neutralize most of the so called large votes in NW Nigeria. .

PDP is leading with huge margins( up to 70%) in Lagos. .

Pls look at reality. . anyway by monday evening u will realize i am the truth

I hope you guys are checking the figures as results are pouring in from both South and North.

As it stands, Paddy Lo, your forecast is nothing but a mere wish.

The only thing i don't feel comfortable about now is how the election is turning to North Vs South of a thing.

And if the trend continue like this early results, we are ending for a second round.

Jonathan is winning in the whole of the south. . Including lagos. . ekiti. . ondo. . .ogun. . oyo. .

he is leading in the middle belt states of kwara. . .adamawa. . taraba. . plateau. . benue

and will split states like kaduna. . .Niger. . Nassarawa. .

so where is my forecast off?. .

if anything i underestimated GEJ strength in south west Nigeria

I should have know n that the average yoruba man will never vote a hausa for President. . .
