Tess6:Please disturb them. Send multiple webforms and emails. Call them too if you can connect. I did the same and I was lucky to have been issued BIL and medical at once. |
GraciousWords:Thanks for the response. I asked them, and they said they only transmit once, and can't possibly re-transmit. I have gone ahead to contact IRCC via webform. |
PanicButton:Montreal don shake body small. Finally received BIL for my spouse. Even after notifying IRCC and uploading my medical slip, I also received a medical request, whereas I had done an upfront medical about 3 months ago. What do you guys advice? Should I keep notifying them of my upfront medical or I should go ahead and do another medicals?. |
Still waiting for BIL for my spouse since January after she passed her medicals. Hmmm. Montreal shake body na ![]() |
pweetygal:You don't need to spend a dime. You use your wifi or data(functioning internet connection) to initiate the call though. Make sure you have a fairly good connection. Download the app, register on the platform using your phone number and just initiate a call to that IRCC number at the earliest. Preferably, 3 to 4mins before 12pm Nigerian time (weekdays only). Refer to my post for further instructions. |
Glad to have shared. I couldn't believe how fast I connected to an agent. GraciousWords: |

Hello everyone, For those trying to reach IRCC, here is a post I came across and since it worked for me, it could work for someone too. I got connected at once after trying it. Please make sure your V.O is not outside Canada before calling them for enquiries on your application. Enjoy! How to call IRCC within a min. Go to ur play store or Apple store, download an app called Viber. After confirming it, dial +1-800-267-6788 Calling hrs is between 8am and 4pm which is 12noon to 8pm Nigeria time at the moment. They operate in such a way that before there client support can receive calls, it must be exactly 8am So you'll call them like 3 mins to that 8am When you call, you'll first press 1 to select English You'll press 2 to be connected to IRCC and this period, they'll tell you that client support department is closed but never mind.... Continue After that you'll be asked to press 1 to provide your UCI but press 2 that you don't have It doesn't affect anything because once they pick you'll still provide your UCI again and you need not to waste time providing it again thereby taking more time you are spending on the call So this period, you'll be asked to choose number again, you can take style to waste time by listening to the options so that the time would be like 1 min to 12noon. Your phone time The next number you'll choose is after pressing 2 that you don't have UCI is 3 After that, the next number you'll press is 2 Then the last number to direct you to the agent is 0, the moment your time changes to 12 noon exactly, press 0 Infact, the call won't spend 5 seconds before an agent will pick If you missed this time, you can try it later but what they'll tell you is that there are plenty people on queue. You have to call back later and if you are lucky to be connected, get ready to wait for as long as 1hr if at all an agent picks it |
Zerotrust:Congratulation!!! this was pretty fast relative to what's obtainable these days. |
Hello Guys, Please does it usually take this long for added spouses to get BIL? My spouse was added, and her medicals passed since January, 14th 2022. It is two months down the line and even after several emails, no BIL yet. I am just curious because I see people whose spouses get BIL not too long after their medical is updated as passed. What else can I do to facilitate its issuance? My V.O. unfortunately is now Montreal ![]() |
Aibisoye0:For medicals, since it isn't upfront you do not have to do anything. Just take the medical request letter to the medical centre and once your done and you pass the medicals, they would upload the necessary document on IRCC portal on your behalf. You can also raise a webform and attach the medical slip they give you there although not required. |
wendyihe:If you are in Abuja, go to IOM centre in Asokoro and explain your situation to them. They will definitely consider your request. I was in the same shoes as well, and they gave me a new date. |
Venom104:Oh that's great! The wait is something else. |
Greetings everyone, After I got married post PPR, I made an enquiry on my visa office recently and just yesterday, I received a response that my application is currently at the IRCC local office in Montreal, Quebec (My VO was formerly Ottawa as a single applicant). I thought it would be Accra VO since that had become a trend for folks in Nigeria who got married post AOR/COPR as per interview and co. Now, I haven't heard much about Montreal VO and the little experiences of other people with Montreal on NL isn't too encouraging. What's your general perception about Montreal? Have they improved of recent with respect to their previous M.O.(Modus Operandi). Finally, my wife's medicals was passed 14th January, and still waiting for BIL. Does it take that long for spouses to be issued BIL because I thought it would be an immediate request? |
bozz007:Congrats!!! Your process between adding baby and ppr was quite fast. You are one of the lucky ones really. |
GraciousWords:Thanks for your response once again. Concerning the IMM008, there was no need to submit it since my status had not changed, and I was yet to inform IRCC of the impending change in status. It was during the period when I sent my passport for stamping, that I did the court marriage and informed IRCC of the change. Subsequently, they acted on it accordingly. |
Hello everyone, I trust we are all good. I heard it's raining ppr today. Congrats to all who got theirs. I am particularly looking forward to @Graciouswords testimony. So I have added my spouse, after my copr was issued. She was asked to do her medicals, which she has done(showed medicals passed by January 14th). Now waiting for her biometrics request letter to be issued. The problem now is that the copr that was issued to me post adding my spouse expires on February 10th. This was issued based on the assessment of my application as a single applicant. What do I do in this scenario? I have raised webforms, and written several emails requesting advice to no avail. Travelling with the issued Visa might constitute a problem in the future since it is indicated I have no dependent. So many questions on my mind such as: Will my Visa be cancelled, and when might that be? Who has been in similar position? Do I travel, while she joins me when they finish processing hers? Wont it amount to misrepresentation? All these queries lingers, and I would be grateful for some insights considering how long it takes to get another ppr after the first one has been issued. |
Ideraa:Congrats!!! |
Tuke360:No! Your education must not tally with your job description to qualify. You can study husbandry, and be a programmer. That's fine! |
KlausMike:Gather all documents required by IRCC and your VFS: 1. International Passport(s) 2. 2 Passport Photographs (see further instructions below in addendum 1) 3. Passport Request Letter (aka ready for visa mail) 4. Duly filled Height and Eye Colour Chart. (A single form containing details for every member of the family) 5. IMM008 for those with a change in family composition (by a birth, death, marriage or divorce, etc) 6. 1 CVAC form. With only page 2 filled in by PA. Do not fill pages 3 & 4. Also advisable to fill in Caps. Ink color doesn't matter. Put all documents in an envelope and proceed to DHL or any courier of your choice and pay for a one-way delivery to the VFS centre where you reside: Abuja or Lagos. Since I reside in Abuja, I sent mine to Abuja via UPS. You do not have to pay any fee if your submission centre also served as where you did your biometrics. That is: if you are submitting to Abuja and you did your biometrics in Lagos, you'd have to pay the transmission fee. VFS sends to Accra, who will then submit to the high commission. Addendum 1. -2 recent passport photos per person. -Not older than 6 months -In Canadian PR dimension (refer to photo chart) -1 detailed copy with the name and DOB of the person at the back. Below that, write or stamp the Name & address of photo studio with date photo was taken. -A second copy for each person is left plain Other Things to note: 1. Wait for the VFS tracking details— they will give you update on when it will be sent to IRCC and when it will be returned to you 2. Wait for the return of your passport— VFS also uses DHL or any other courier to return. |
GraciousWords:Oh *dances on you guys behalf*. I just recieved my stamped passport today. I had submitted to VFS Abuja who then transmitted to Accra I suppose. I submitted via UPS on the 10th of November. My Visa was issued on the 12th of December, and I received it today. So give or take you get your passport back 2 weeks after it is stamped. All the best you guys, we are rooting for you all! |
An update to my application: IRCC finally updated my application post COPR with a placeholder, sent me some application kit, requested I filled the forms for I and my spouse, and submit within 30days. So yeah, nothing has really changed. You can still add your spouse even after your COPR has been issued. Thanks all, and particularly @GraciousWords for the reassurance. |
ednut1:Thanks for the clarification. |
Lotusgoddess:I dont understand. Is this information based on facts? Some folks here who have been in the same shoes, were successful in adding their spouse post ppr. Please refer to this which @GraciousWords posted in support of my argument: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/express-entry/assessing-electronic-application-on-section-a11-2.html It states and I quote: "Family members can be added to the application at any time during the process, including after the visa is issued, but prior to obtaining permanent resident status. Applicants are instructed to inform IRCC immediately if their family composition has changed (e.g., birth of a child, marriage, divorce)." |
GraciousWords:Thank you very much. I thought so as well because I am yet to land, and my passport is still with accra VO. That said, I have sent a direct email to my VO with all documents and proof of payment. Fingers crossed. |
Hi Guys, While trying to add spouse post AOR, I raised a webform, attached the documents, and made payments. However, a case agent replied back stating that I cant add my spouse since a final decision has been made on my application. He recommended I sponsored her under Family Class, or Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class. Please how do I remedy this situation? |
Iyke4400:Evaluate your MBA since it is a Masters degree. You'd get more points doing that. |
cnwamo:Congratulations. |
Miredo:Thanks for such a detailed response. I just submitted my package to UPS in Abuja to deliver to the VFS in Abuja. I didn't pay any fee aside the courier sum. Do you have any idea on how I could ascertain the actual transmission fee to be paid to the VFS in Abuja. For added info, I did my biometrics in Abuja. |
Hi guys, After my issued PPR, and with my VO being Ottawa: 1. Can I send to any Visa office for my COPR to be issued or must it be Ottawa. 2. Do I go straight to DHL to transmit the documents to the designated Visa office. 3. I see something about transmission fee on my letter. When is it to be paid, and how do I go about it. I need help with the process. My location is Abuja. I would appreciate your assistance. Thanks. |
GraciousWords:Thanks a lot. Everyone can agree that the invaluable time you spend to answer to our queries and provide more clarity is well appreciated. I cant wait to share in your celebration once your Canada dream is achieved with a PPR. Welldone |
