Regarding military health, the South African Military Health Service is in charge of Nelson Mandela's health and so far they have done a good job of keeping him alive without sending him overseas as is expected from other African countries. Mandela was first treated at 1 military hospital, the same hospital were the 27 SANDF soldiers wounded by Seleka were treated and only one has since died. |
Bollocks, he has gone to middle east which is far worse. |
Yay, we're going to Africa - the motherland. |
^Welcome back. |
From what I saw today, I believe them when they say it's costing them over $100 million. |
Obama's secret service people were flying their helicopters and fighter jets all over Joburg today. It's like they have taken over our country, I got a taste of what it's like to live in Iraq and Afghanistan. I would also bomb myself to get rid of them. |
My last comment in this thread was on page 200 and something, it's now approaching page 400. I'm lost for words. |
Sick thread. |
They also deported Puff Johnson while she was busy with her cancer treatment. Now she's dead. |
I think that it is false to say that Nigerians are being ripped-off. A year or two ago I compared prices of SA companies in Nigeria with prices in SA and they were slightly higher on average in Nigeria. I can't remember the thread that I posted in. Anyway, in SA DSTV premium costs R625, compact costs R275. Compare that to Nigeria. Last time I checked R1 gave N16. Or best check Mr Price items and compare with the one in Nigeria. www.mrp.com |
Why the heavy moderation in the "where would South Africa be without whites" thread? |
LOL. Some serious moderation going on. What criteria is used when deciding which post qualifies to be hidden? |
Seeing that it's South Africans who started a number of industries in Nigeria, we can ask: what would Nigeria be without South Africans? But this thread is about what South Africa would be like without whites? It would probably be worse than Nigeria. There you have it, I hope that you're happy now all4naija. |
One day Nigeria will be a success. |
A compilation of Nigeria's filth by Nigerians www.nairaland.com/1272973/dirtiness-nigeria But according to all4naija, South Africa would be much worse than that were it not for whites. |
Typical, if it's not South Africans helping to grow Nigeria it is the Chinese. |
Lol, all4naija is feeling the heat. |
What would be of Nigeria without whites? They were in Nigeria for a very long time; then they left; and now they're slowly coming back along with the Asians. Even if South Africa were to build a new city tomorrow, Nigerians will say it's white man's magic. |
This thread is epic. Much respect to all the contributors. |
Sithwell please leave all4naija. He is not the first Nigerian green-eyed monster and I'm certain that he is not the last. I've debating this type of envious Nigerian before, they begrudgingly accept that SA is better but to not feel outdone they attribute South Africa's success to whites. What I have done is to agree with them that whites built most of what is now modern day South Africa, however I state that South Africa's current development is conceptualised and implemented by blacks. I then directed them to many achievements done by a black people, in collaboration with whites. Just agree with all4naija and leave him. If black South Africans conducted their affairs like Nigerians, then probably South Africa would be just like Nigeria considering that whites also built Nigeria although Nigerians have let whitemans work go to ruins. What should be embarrassing to every Nigerian is that it took white man to find their oil, but they have since allowed whites to "steal" their oil while leaving them with crumbs that get looted by corrupt officials. That is the major difference that I don't expect all4naija to grasp, the difference being that all the mineral wealth in South Africa and Nigeria was uncovered by whites; that all the infrastructure in South Africa and Nigeria was built by whites; but in SA's case after black takeover the black government made sure that black people have a share in all mineral wealth extracted and that inherited infrastructure is maintained and expanded. It would be foolish to attribute a project like the Gautrain to whites only because this is world-class highspeed rail infrastructure that was built a few years ago and only fully launched last year. All4naija will look at this and other new infrastructure and then enviously say that it's all white mans magic. |
agaugust: you are lost in that cage the white man boer tied you with chains in soweto republic. The problem with you is that you see snail's pace progress in your country and then you think that South Africa is sitting still doing nothing. While your country is busy signing electricity deals, our country is actually building power station to cater for future demand. South Africa is currently builing a number of electricity projects but just for dramatic effect: South Africa is building Medupi power station which when complete will the largest single coal fired power station in the world that will have an installed generating capacity equal to the installed generating capacity of the entire Nigeria. Feel free to read about it. www.eskom.co.za/c/article/57/medupi-power-station/ www.eskom.co.za/c/article/58/kusile-power-station/ www.eskom.co.za/c/article/54/ingula-pumped-storage-scheme/ www.eskom.co.za/c/article/53/new-build-programme/ |
solomon111: what crash history? The Nigerian Air Force has been crashing in recent days. Is this incompetence normal or is it equipment malfunction? And the bit about the US Air Force is obvious dude. |
What's the Nigerian Air Force crash history. |
souldust: so they make their money? And how many provinces do you have? Whats their annual budget? What is the average cost of living in SA as compared to Naija? Becos since we are not uneducated, we know that your budget compared to you cost of living is what shows your real worth. If you have 10naira and your cost of living is 6naira, i dont believe you can add more value than the man with 8naira and 3naira cost of living all things being equal. We have nine provinces. The provinces and municipalities make money through rates and property taxes on the residents as well as profit from services such as electricity and water supply. www.iol.co.za/business/business-news/gauteng-spends-99-of-budget-1.1510305 www.joburg.org.za/index.php?option=com_content&do_pdf=1&id=523 |
sheyie2007: check the meaning of sarcasm in your dictionary... I understood his point but you didn'tDo you still think that he was being sarcastic? |
scipher: you claimed the whole of joburg is like the picture you posted and I made my own claimMatch my claim by showing aerial picture of Lagos. Remember I'm claiming that slums are in your face in Nigeria, you can't miss them. Prove me wrong. |
scipher: You might want to read more about nigeria's budget cuz it appears you're clueless (https://www.google.co.za/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CDEQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fpremiumtimesng.com%2Fbusiness%2F123650-overview-of-nigeria-2013-budget-by-ngozi-okonjo-iweala.html&ei=64CLUY__B8G3hQeHk4DIBg&usg=AFQjCNEU1yYID94ghQb7JyvmsVnmq0b-5w&sig2=vC3xrRujSCNZ45c2OjmbAA&bvm=bv.46226182,d.ZG4)..And what exactly does this prove beside confirm my claim? |
scipher: Dude, you made it sound like joburg doesnt have slums..like, reallyIt's a pity that you have comprehension issues. I said that such areas are not in your face like they are in Nigeria and then went on to give aerial pictures that show most of the city and its surbubs. You claiming that Victoria Island is how most of Lagos looks is cheap dishonesty. There's no need to fib when you can easily be called out on your fraud. You claiming MOST of Lagos to look like Victoria Island is like me claiming that MOST of Johannesburg looks like this... www.nairaland.com/148493/photos-sandton-city-near-jo |
Agaugust seems to focus too much on saving vs debt. What about income? South African budget 〓 $130 billion Nigerian budget 〓 $32 billion South Africa has more than four times the Nigerian budget to spend on a third of the Nigerian population. If Nigeria was equal to South Afican then it governemt coffers would need to be at least $350 billion. Edit. And oil accounts for 90% of the Nigerian $32 billion income, so if there was no oil in Nigeria the govenment would have about $3 billion income. |
sheyie2007: folks in those pic can still afford plane tickets to south Africa for greener pasturesBut the need for South Africans to flee ended in 1994. Right now South Africans have no reason to escape their homeland. That picture posted by Scipher is old, it's a picture of Alexandra township which is and has been receiving massive upgrades. In fact if you were to take a picture from that same spot, there would be more Sandton skycrapers in the background. Anyway, scenes like that still exist but they are now the anomaly instead of the standard like in Nigeria. Fly over to Johannesburg and you will struggle to find areas like that. They exist but are hidden away unlike in Nigeria where it's in your face. This is how most of Johannesburg looks: https://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff301/xavixav_bucket/Joburg%20from%20the%20sky/JoburgEast.jpg https://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff301/xavixav_bucket/Joburg%20from%20the%20sky/Joburggolf.jpg https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-GywG6YjX1UY/UWa_SlfY88I/AAAAAAAAACI/PyieR0iZkZw/s912/130318-_61A2965.jpg https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-21DTag__fMc/UWa_Sx7PPhI/AAAAAAAAACM/UrHHHNg0m84/s912/130318-_61A2974.jpg |

.
lagos alone contributes over $33 billie, let alone the $21billie remitted back home by diasporans
you can't say the same for SA
