I don't agree with your assertion that religious politics did play down south. Because, if you look at the bar chart of the results, you'll find that each of the candidates are able to secure reasonable votes in the north, unlike in the southeast. Just look at the result of Anambra, enugu for example and compare it with Adamawa or kaduna, you'll see what I'm talking about.

In fact, what I actually see with respect to religous politics is that the southerners and the Christian bodies wanted to fight the so-called Muslim-Muslim tickets but, in reality they ended up helping it.

Also, Kwankwaso is not a looser in this election unlike you thought. He was able to re-establish his base in kano after been betrayed politically by Gov Ganduje.
Joining Obi as a VP would have affected this. Also, it isimportant for you to understand that contesting against the duo of Tinubu and Atiku is not an easy task, thus even if Obi/Kwankwaso have been materialised, there's still no guarantee of success in the Presidential elections. You can agree with me if you add both the results of the two candidates.

1. Igbos have done what you advised in 1979, 1993 and 2019. Igbos in these elections took vp and voted massively. It didn't work for us.
2. In 2027 Atiku will be in his 80s. He won't even contest. You can bet me on this.
3. Pdp will now see why its important to give igbos the ticket in 2027 after what igbos did to them in this election.
