Randal:Armed policeman kwa. For giveaway? This behaviour is obviously repulsive, but using armed policemen is an overkill, considering many of our police have a low threshold to shoot. The lady here has done the right thing, she went with security officials, but poverty and greed ruined the day. |

Kingrefreshed: I've worked in Park Lane Teaching Hospital and UNTH both in Enugu, and autopsies are done in both hospitals, and I would think most tertiary hospitals in Nigeria do same too, that's why the department of Morbid anatomy exists. The fact you are not aware of this is no licence to make contrary claims. Autopsies are done in rare cases like this one where the cause of death is both uncertain, and may become a matter of public health importance. Based on cursory Internet search, the department of Paediatrics in Park Lane has done 7 autopsies between 2013 and 2017. It's not a huge number, but again Enugu is not overly litigious, and people are generally educated and are less likely to challenge probable causes of death suggested by the doctors.

bigiyaro:Strange that you state your opinion with the qualifier 'obviously'. Even seasoned pathologists will not dare to proffer that extent of certainty in a case as vague as this. People would normally say 'likely', 'possibly' 'probably' to clarify there's no absolute certainty, but without doing an autopsy, you're feeding us with irrefutable certainty... "Obviously" hmm Or do you know something our law enforcement agents need to know too? |

RIP to the dead. I can't help but notice 7 full PPEs have been used at 1 burial. But doctors on the frontline cannot access PPEs to save those who are unwell. We need to get our priorities right in this country |

sircrabo: There is zero chance of getting HIV from a positive person who is undetectable. Zero. No risk at all. The fact is based on solid evidence from scientific research. The fact has been preached since 2017, and remains a revolutionary part of HIV prevention. http://i-base.info/u-equals-u/ https://www.prn.org/index.php/prn_news/news/the_partner_2_study_and_undetectable_equals_untransmittable |

Politics / Re: COVID-19: Status Of 20 Governors Unknown by passion007: 9:04am On Apr 02, 2020 |
Ridiculous news. Covid 19 status is not a political statement. There's absolutely no reason to test all state governors and ministers just for the fun of it, if they are not symptomatic or contacts of a known case. Its a shame even media houses have bought into this sham of pushing for testing for only political leaders and celebrities. |
Politics / Re: Do You Know Somali People Hate Us More Than The White? by passion007: 1:55pm On Apr 01, 2020 |
Astark: Exactly my point, you've used the experience of One or two or three people to arrive at that curious conclusion, 'they hate us', three most often misused words 'They' - the behaviour of a group is completely reflective of the behaviour of any 1 member of that group 'Hate' - amplified awareness of the differences between groups pushed to the ridiculous extreme that if I say a mean word, then it's not a mean word, it's really hate. 'Us' - I have appointed myself spokesman for my group, therefore if I've had a bad experience, everyone else must have too. Sound logical? If everybody hates you all over the world, then it's not rocket science that the problem is not them, it's you. 1 Like |

From what you've posted, there's absolutely no evidence that "they hate us". Can we go easy on this whole "everybody hates us" mindset. From America to South Africa, from Italy to Kenya, and now Somalia, Nigerians always feeling hated. Give it a rest guys, sheesh! When did we become such prickly pears! NGpatriot: 275/19774 expressed as a percentage equals 1.39% death rate. Why are you creating misinformation by posting an old article in the first instance, then confusing the reader with new figures on the same thread, and then insisting both figures are correct. Don't be foolish if you can help it. |

AkpaMgbor: Before your conveniently back down under cover of me being a dimwit, can you answer me this one question Is it safe to say Oyedepo's god misinformed him about having a grand service on a day US authorities would ban public gatherings. Or did he simply not discuss with god prior to choosing a date for this service? |
Religion / Re: Coronavirus: Oyedepo Cancels Services At Winners Chapel In Maryland, USA by passion007: 11:47am On Mar 14, 2020 |
AkpaMgbor: Oh dear, you're irredeemable. You just chat a load of rubbish. The question remains, why didn't Oyedepo's god prewarn him of this, why didn't his god advise him to chose a better date and time? What wasteful god would let time, energy, money spent planning all of this go to waste? Most importantly, why is Oyedepo (and his god) bowing to a force majeure? Has he run out of faith? If his faith can move mountains, how much less coronavirus (not) Go and sleep man, religiousity will not kill you. I'm sure you're the same one who collects bribe at work, steal from others, fornicate around, but here you are carrying Oyedepo on your head. Akpa amu! |

AkpaMgbor: Wtf are you on about Oh my, religion is truly the opium of the masses. A man as learned as you, able to string decent sentences together, would excuse this charade because even Christ did not perform miracles in Nazareth therfore Oyedepo can't be expected to perform miracles in USA, what sort of warped, flawed, senseless logic is that? Or were you just trying to sound off a Bible verse. 1 Like |

max4osas: God save us from the buffoonery called religion in Nigeria. So his god couldn't even tell him what day to choose to have this service go on uninterrupted . Its safe to say his god misinformed him, and has caused such great waste of funds contributed by his poor members. All that effort, money and planning down the drain, and now there'll be an online service. Why didn't his god tell him to organise an online service ab initio. The scam called god in Nigeria. If it happens, its god. If it doesn't, you don't have enough faith, or its not gods will. My very naive, impressionable Nigerians will wake up one day. 2 Likes 1 Share |

OKOATA: Do Africans in Africa have a different immune constitution to Africans elsewhere? The point being made is that you and me will not go to hospital because of flu like symptoms, hence there is an understandable concern the virus may be spreading. Of course, one hopes it isn't, but what if it is. In these times, there's no sense in being positive. Prepare for the worst, that's what all other countries are doing, while we, on the other hand, are hoping for the best in Jesus's name. |

safarigirl: Give it time, come back in a week with your "We are immune to COVID 19" claim. Youve only just got patient zero, and you're wondering why COVID isn't spreading. That line about deserving every virus is just utter and complete rubbish. A viral infection will affect anyone, whether they be brown, white, black or bleached. All epidemics start with patient zero, then the story tells itself from then on. One only hopes we can at least delay its inevitable spread. 1 Like 1 Share |

crackkhaus: Thanks for your circuitous summary which has added little in value to this discussion, if I'm honest. You seem to be most elusive in your opinions. My whole goal has been to get people to think of possibilities to this experience. I'm glad I've got you from saying "you can't argue someone else's experience with them" to actually questioning their experience, and proffering alternative explanations. You don't see that your argument has changed its bearing since this morning, which I think is just funny and reassuring - reassuring that persistence would bring change even if subtle to you. My point has always been about critical thinking, and I remain unwavering in that line of argument. I do not expect we would come to an agreement, but getting you to think more holistically has made my day. I hope you have a good day my friend. |
