So, I just told myself that considering the vibe around the APC national leader, senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, acronmyed BAT, and also realizing that his followers are not even telling us what we stand to benefit as Nigerians if he is rigged into the presidency (genuine elections hardly occur in Nigeria) so I decided to go check his Facebook page to see if there's anything there to that effect. You can imagine how shocked I was when I discovered over a hundred Facebook accounts with the name, Bola Tinubu, and about a hundred of them correctly carry the face of the former Lagos state governor as profile picture. You can therefore imagine my level of confusion. So Nairalanders, and those media rats who pretend they love Tinubu more than his wife, can you kindly post the link to the Facebook account he currently uses so we can like it and get first hand information on his programmes and maybe pepper him too . virginprincess:hope you are not another chrisland school girl? Just asking. |
Naijanascam:11th globally, 4th in Africa. We are not in any medal position. Can there be any place in the world more miserable than living in Nigeria? A country where in an entire month you don't get 5 days worth of electricity, but discos will issue you bills higher than your house rents. A country where nothing is certain. Not even the security of lives and properties. |
Meanwhile, the Oborevwori campaign team is yet to release a statement so far on these development. If these assertions are genuine, the speaker can as well kiss his governorship ambition goodbye.

Some pointed out that the school where he claimed to obtain his SSCE in 1999 was established in 2014.

Some of the documents being shared online showed glaring inconsistencies. The screening committee is carefully examining them to ensure that what happened with Bayelsa APC reversed victory does not repeat itself in Delta

The campaign camp of Rt. Hon. Oborevwori, speaker, Delta State House of assembly is currently in a pensive as their boss has not been able to flash his clearance certificate by the PDP screening committee headed by the Bayelsa governor, Duoye. Documents leaked online shows the inconsistencies stem from multiple names used by the speaker at different times. The speaker had also at different times modified his dates of birth. His boisterous supporters have been mollified. The speaker is touted to have the annointed backing of the governor, Ifeanyi okowa, as the most suitable to cover up his track record of financial recklessness including the 150 billion naira loan recently obtained and hastily approved by his rubber stamp assembly led by the embattled speaker. This piece of news led to massive jubilation by the David Edevbie camp, another front runner of the PDP, but not currently being favoured by the incumbent. Many Deltans are hoping Edevbie gets the party ticket as he seems to have the formula of a prosperous Delta.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS FOR BECOMING THE GOVERNOR OF A STATE IN NIGERIA admin 3 years ago Growing up many children nurtured big dreams of becoming Governors and even the President of Nigeria. Many have since abandoned these dreams for numerous reasons. Yet, there are people who are still ardently pursuing this dream. If you fall into this category of people or are just curious as to what is required to be a Governor in Nigeria then this article is for you. To be elected as Governor of a State in Nigeria, one must fulfill the following requirements: He must be a citizen of Nigeria by birth; He must have attained the age of thirty-five years; He must be a member of a political party and that political party must have sponsored him; and He must also be educated to at least the School certificate level or its equivalent. A person is disqualified for election to the office of Governor of a State where any of the following occurs: He has willingly acquired the citizenship of another country or he has pledged allegiance to that other country in cases other than those prescribed by the National Assembly. He has held such office by election at any two previous elections. This basically means that a person cannot become Governor for a third tenure. He is adjudged a lunatic or declared to be of unsound mind under any law in any part of Nigeria. He has been sentenced to death by a competent court of law or tribunal in Nigeria or has a sentence of imprisonment for any offence involving dishonesty or fraud. He has been convicted and sentenced for an offence involving dishonesty or has been found guilty of the contravention of the Code of Conduct within a period of less than ten years before the date of election to the office of Governor of the state He is an undischarged bankrupt who has been declared bankrupt under a law in operation in Nigeria. He is a person employed in the Public Service of the Federation or of any State and has not withdrawn or retired from the employment at least thirty days to the date of the election. He is a member of any secret society He presented a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). HOW THE ELECTION IS DONE: The electoral body in Nigeria (Independent National Electoral Commission – INEC) fixes the date for election to the office of Governor of a State. Usually, the election of a new Governor takes place while the incumbent is still in office and should be held on a date not before 150 days and not later than 120 days before the term of the sitting Governor expires. In other words, the determining factor for when elections for a new governor is scheduled is the date of expiration of the term of the sitting Governor. In Nigeria, if after say three political parties have nominated their Governorship Candidates and only one of the three candidates remains after the close of nomination by virtue of the others being disqualified, incapacitated, having withdrawn, disappearing or their death; then the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) must extend the time for nomination of candidates. It is required that where there is only one candidate nominated for election to the Office of Governor, he is regarded as duly elected where he has a majority of YES votes over NO votes cast at the election. He must also have obtained at least one-quarter of the votes cast at the election in each of at least two-thirds of all the Local Government Areas in the State. Where there are two or more nominated candidates, a candidate will be regarded as duly elected into the Office of Governor of the State where he has the highest number of votes cast at the election. He must also have at least one-quarter of all the votes cast in each of at least two-thirds of all the Local Government Areas in the State. TENURE OF OFFICE: When a Governor has been duly elected to Office, he may hold such office until: his successor in office takes the Oath of that office, or he dies while holding t |
SocialJustice:Really? As for me I received January last week. I just hope they will just pay February to April at a go. |
Pierocash:Lekki is not their land of origin. When they die, their corpses are taken to their villages and buried in their village mansions or family compounds |
BSdetective:What is actually wrong in a man marrying two wives? |
A major feature of the Delta state speaker guber campaigns is the obvious floating of the yellow colour as campaign symbol. All his supporters ignorantly putting on the yellow cap and shirt. It reminds me of a Confra group back days in school.

EjaikreTheViper:Which planet are you typing from? The man has long ago belonged to Boko Haram, bandits and supporter of APC foolanus |
Temmylee01:My dear, you think the mummy iS dumb? She is simply hoping they would give her grand children |
West1side:You are even stupider to think I'm rooting for anyof these charlatans. |
DenreleDave:Only a nincompoop will ask this question. The day I tell you my father is contesting for president, as me. I didn't even know that Tinubu is your father. Hope you have changed his diapers this afternoon. |
hopexter:You can ask that question when I tell you my daddy is contesting to govern a country like Nigeria. Since the subject of this discourse has nothing to do with my father, your question is not only irrelevant, but also the sort asked by hopeless nincompoops. |
If Jonathan even considers the idea of contesting, he will lose the regard people have for him. He should consider how to be a strong opposition and play a fatherly role in the party. He must shake off the disappointments of 2015 |
orisa37:Yes. But not to contest as president. That party needs a leader. It's crazy that a party that has produced 3 different president currently has none of them playing active roles within the party. So what they have are noise makers like Wike and that Ekiti former governor. That party is like an orphan begging for a father figure. If not that APC failed woefully, PDP would have been no more. |
Sport betting is gambling. It was never designed for you to win, but to rake billions to the owners. It feeds on our greed. The end product is a life of regrets and penury. Look around you. How many have bought lands, build houses or but cars with proceeds from gambling? Say no to sports betting today. |
simpleseyi:Once a slave always a slave. |
simpleseyi:[img][/img] Hope you have ordered pampers for your pissing president. |
As it stands there is no clear cut between what PDP represents and that of APC. Over the years it has been so easy crosscarpetting between the parties. Strong critics of the other parties have shamelessly swallowed their vomits. It's politics of convenience, greed and shamelessness. In terms of achievements, nothing spectacular. Same shylock politicians jostling from one party to another. Same corrupt politicians. No idea to solve existing problems. No new idea to move the country forward. Just trotting about the same circle. Creating complexities in an otherwise simple process. Devising crooked ways of permanently remaining in power |
In Nigeria, there is nothing like political party. Just Politicians. |
Exercise in futility. |
Had he brushed the teeth?

Still struggling for political relevance |
