Did you click the Leonardo Da Vinci painting of the Last Supper that they all posed into at the Last Supper scene. It’s little details like that that really tripped me about the show. |

Kobojunkie: My favourite character in the whole thing. I. Fact one of the accusations levelled at the show is that it seems to be more about Judas as the central character than about Jesus himself. It’s about Judas’ thoughts and issues with Jesus. It wasn’t just the guys voice I admired, it was his whole charisma, the way he stood and walked and the intensity in his face when he sang. |

Compare and contrast the first line over the same guitar riff ... “My mind is clearer now....” Compare this to the scene where he commits suicide. The same guitar riff but with more distortion... “My mind is in darkness now...” I love all the little symmetries like that in the show. My favourite songs are the prayer at Garden of Gethsemane and the Last Supper. Kobojunkie: |

The hypocrisy of ‘Christians’ is second to none. Ever ready to overlook the crimes and repulsiveness of some while super eager to condemn others. That’s how some are ready to die for trump calling him god’s Cyrus etc. While in their eyes Obama was the Antichrist. Everything they do just tallies with whatever prejudices they were already harbouring. Nasty prejudices. They thereby use Christianity as a tool to facilitate their nastiest inclinations instead of a tool to help them rise and become better people. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Are you suggesting that abacha was not a thief because the accusations came after he died. So in your opinion dying exonerates you from any crimes you may have committed in life. I siooose he also had all those qualifications too because he is dead. Image123: 2 Likes |

But this is not what you people claim. You say that you are changed. That the things you used to do do not appeal to you anymore. That it is the Holy Spirit that acts through you. When it comes time to point to one single Christian who has been saved from human wretchedness and that we can actually scrutinise that is when you all run away. Acehart: 2 Likes 1 Share |

I believe I’ve stated many times my most basic and fundamental belief in life. It is that each human has been born with a mission/purpose in life and that fulfilling this is the utmost imperative of its life. I believe in a society that facilitates the explorations and achieving of this goal for each and every human being. To the extent that a society frustrates this , that society is evil. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Geist: Hmmmm. Too many thoughts on that one too. Without a doubt this world is not a place of equity. The fingers of the hand are not equal. There is tall privilege. There is athleticism privilege, there is fineness privilege etc etc etc. Why should a fine girl get free entry into a club when her mates have to pay? Similarly over vast swathes of society there is white privilege. But there is also black privilege though maybe not in as many scenarios as white privilege. Also I think that black people are often the cause of their own oppression because of the way they defer to whites people. It’s like the privilege is not just out there in political society but it has even entered into the minds of the black people. We are both Nigerians. We both know how we treat oyinbos in Nigeria. Someone once posted something on a social media, it might have even been on NL here. It said (I paraphrase):” if you want to impress a Nigerian board take an oyinbo ‘expert’ into the meeting with you. Any oyinbo will do. “ I copied it and reposted it on my Facebook. An oyinbo friend who has just returned from Nigeria laughed hard when she read it. White privilege is real. BLM: I do believe that black lives do matter. I agree with the statement. However as an organisation I am more cautious about lending my support to any organisation. These things tend to go pear shaped and become corrupt. What is the agenda? Where is the funding coming from? These are questions I’ve heard levelled at the organisation. I think they are valid questions. It seems that there is a lot more to BLM the organisation than just the rights of black peoples. One should be very careful in life about allowing oneself to become a pawn in someone else’s agenda. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

It was an interesting interview I. So many levels. I don’t know what level you’d want to hear my views on. I could talk about the corrupt and manipulative media as depicted by Cathy Newman and about JP’s calm handling of her, which helped to expose her machinations for all to see. I think he was right about the pay gap. There is nothing like knowing your worth. It happens more to women but to men as well whereby they are actually doing the brunt of work and adding the most value to a project yet getting paid the least. Indeed it requires an aggressive stance which men are better at taking. I’m someone quite high in the agreeableness trait and to be honest it’s a handicap. I’ve been working on that and it’s yielding positive results. One key I find is quite important is to have a willingness to walk away. Before I walk into a meeting I psych myself with the thought that the meeting may not go as planned and I prepare myself to be content to just walk away. Sometimes I thing people notice it from the minute you walk into the meeting because when I take that stance the people I’m dealing with are always more amenable from the start. But if I walk in like a nice guy, grinning like a monkey and being friendly I get shafted. Interestingly this afternoon I was reading about Simpson’s Paradox. One of the examples of the paradox involved a perceived biased in accepting women’s applications to university. However the analysis revealed that women were going for courses that were more competitive to get into due to the numbers of people with the appropriate qualifications. Men on the other hand were more likely to go for the courses that were less competitive because the qualifications required were hard to get and there were actually fewer qualified people applying for the positions. For example there were more men going for engineering degrees than women, while the women might go for say an English degree. If you’re applying for an English degree in an English speaking country then the competition for a place will be harder than if you were applying for an Engineering course of which there were fewer people with the qualifications to apply in the first place. What I learn from that is that statistics is an extremely complex subject and just looking at the numbers superficially can mislead you as to what is really going on. Geist: 2 Likes 1 Share |

No ‘everybody all agrees’ that Eledumare is god or allah. Many isęse people are very upset about this. They say Allah and Yahweh has nothing to do with Eledumare. Eledumare does not have shrines, Eledumare does not have taboos, Eledumare does not have priesthoods and Eledumare does not impregnate virgins. Tadeknkeepcalm: 1 Like 1 Share |

Interesting thought: What is the difference between Rubbish and High Intelligence? Answer: Reverence for Authority. If that book had been written by your junior brother how long would it have taken for you to dismiss it as a load of rubbish. The fact, it seems, is that a lesser intelligence can not assess a higher intelligence. The works of the higher intelligence would just seem like rubbish. However if all your teachers in school and everyone you respect extolls the work then you are humbled and acknowledge that maybe the work just surpasses what you can grasp. Now think of all the things that you've ever dismissed as rubbish. and think, could it be that it is a work of superior intelligence by someone that I just simply did not respect as an authority? 7 Likes 4 Shares |

Obalufon: Hello Mr Nazi-Yoruba! So did your ancestors learn Irunmale veneration from monkeys. Did you know that one of the biggest cults in Ife is Olokun? Ask yourself, where did Olokun veneration come from? Where is Olokun situated today? If the research is too big for your peanut brain let me spoon feed you. Olokun comes from the Ibo people of the delta region. Oyinbo call her River Ethiope just like they call Oya River Niger. The people that are original owners of the cult call her Onoku. It was the Benin people that brought her worship to Ife. Till tomorrow when they want to call on Olokun in Ife they use Edo language. Now entertain us and tell us how the etymology of Olokun really comes Hebrew ARabic or something stupid like that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7Do9k4t2h0 |

The True Yoruba The true Yoruba are to be found in Europe. Today you call them the Caucasians. I’ll give you etymological proof. 1. There was a very troublesome town that was always fighting her neighbours. The Yoruba cast them out and they migrated to Europe. If you hear their name they are called ‘Fight’. In Yoruba, Ija ma ni. Today they are called Germany. Germany is actually Yoruba. 2. There was another town that strictly adhered to whatever Ifa tells them. The oracle instructed them to migrate to Europe. When they got there they were asked what they came for. They said ‘Ifa sent them’. Ifa ran sę. That is France today. 1 Like |

So in other words you’re just a bigoted guy and all these things you’re spouting here have no scientific or scholarly basis just your hateful ignorance. You really can’t see how pathetic your mind is that it is Arab and Hebrew lohun lohun that you are claiming due to religious indoctrination. Obalufon: Almost all living things have some DNA in common. We share DNA with bananas too. That doesn't mean we cannot still see an even closer correlation of DNA in people that are related. Imagine you do DNA test for your child and they find that your child is even closer genetically to your best friend than to you. What will you say? "Don't worry child, all humans have monkey DNA so you're still my offspring and I will continue to pay your school fees. Just because the DNA says you're uncle Fatai's son and not mine doesn't mean anything". LOL, good luck with that. 3 Likes |

Obalufon: What is bogus about using scientific method to enquire into the genome of different tribes. This research was not done by 'pan Africanism minded people' as you claim. It was done done by the National Human Genome Research Institute amongst others. The NHGRI is not a 'pan africanist' organisation. There are Chinese amongst the researchers. I would perfectly understand if you don't want to engage with the Science itself. 2 Likes |

This is an interesting article that has some bearing on whether the Yoruba can be said to hail from the Middle East. http://venturesafrica.com/yorubas-are-99-9-genetically-igbo-study/?fbclid=IwAR2LBaBnPJTogZYLp2IaYAc4W3zh7LN77klvz6W0c8milF221-p_yaG_oqM If Yoruba, Igbo, Gaa and Akan are the same genetically then did they all come from Mecca? or Jerusalem? Can we find the linguistic connections in Gaa and Arabic too? |

Religion / Re: Could It Be Satan Vs God by PastorAIO: 10:46am On Jul 28, 2020 |
To understand the later use of Satan in Jewish thought it helps to study Ahriman in Persian religion. Obviously the Persians set the Jews free to return to Palestine and ruled them under the Persian empire. The impact of Zoroastrianism, the religion of the Persians cannot be over estimated. The Zoroastrians believed in a dualistic world where history was the battle between Light and Darkness, Good vs Evil, Ahura Mazda (the good god) and Angra Mainyu (aka Ahriman, the evil force). One day in the future good will prevail and this will be brought about when the future saviour Saoshyant comes. He will make the world perfect. What is clear is that the Persian religious world view influenced the Jewish one. And ultimately the Christian religion and Islam. kkins25: 2 Likes 2 Shares |

kkins25: Greetings sir, You can find examples of what I mean in these verses... 1Kings 11 14And the LORD raised up a satan against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite. He was of the royal house in Edom. 23God also raised up as a satan to him, Rezon the son of Eliada, who had fled from his master Hadadezer king of Zobah. 24And he gathered men about him and became leader of a marauding band, after the killing by David. And they went to Damascus and lived there and made him king in Damascus. 25He was a satan to Israel all the days of Solomon, doing harm as Hadad did. And he loathed Israel and reigned over Syria. Here the angel of the lord is a satan Numbers 22:22 But God’s anger was kindled because he went, and the angel of Yahweh took his stand in the way as his satan. Now he was riding on the donkey, and his two servants were with him. 1 Like 1 Share |

cornelboy: I thought that what I want to say is clear enough. However I am happy to repeat it again. You, sir, in spite of your pretensions to correct other people's understanding of 'Soul' have proven yourself to be quite confused. I have come to the conclusion that the source of this confusion is due to the fact that the text of the bible was originally written in many foreign languages that are no longer extant, and then later translated into English. Consider your opening post: cornelboy: Take your opening line: They think that it's an entity that leaves the body after death This is confounded by Shadeyinka's quotation from the bible, genesis 35:18 18And as her soul was departing (for she was dying), she called his name Ben-oni;g but his father called him Benjamin Surely at this point you ought to have stopped and thanked her for enlightening you. I certainly felt enlightened myself. |
Religion / Re: Most Christians Do Not Understand What The Word "SOUL" Means??? by PastorAIO: 9:45am On Jul 23, 2020 |
Hmmm..... see all this confusion. It prompts me to ask again. Is Hebrew Nephesh (translated as soul) the same as Greek Psyche (also translated as soul). Even within Hebrew we can ask, is Nismat the same as Ruach. Why then did they coin two different words for the same thing? When the desperation caused by our ignorance of these foreign cultures leads us to start taking meanings from the English dictionary instead of studying how the original people used the terms then we know that we have progressed from farce to tragedy. cornelboy: shadeyinka: 2 Likes 1 Share |
