Well I could proudly look at my son and say "I wasn't a bigot".

You can't can you Pataki?
With all your nonsensical verbiage for over three hours now? If you raise your son to be idiotic in reasoning as you type here, where is the hope? grin
PoliticsRe: Homosexuals Storm National Assembly by Pataki: 11:10pm On Mar 12, 2009
This thread should forever be treasured. It contains some of the most idiotic and moronic arguments human beings can ever concoct.

I wonder twenty years down the line, what your offspring's will say of you, when they read some of the waffle being spitted by you on this thread all in support of homosexuality. grin

I believe homosexuality is based on genetic and environmental factors. Some scientists agree, some don't.  There is research currently going on at Depaul University on this, maybe you could lend your superior expertise to them.

If you have some genetic information for rape and adultery, then give it to us.
I would not be surprised, if there is a research being undertaken at Depaul University on whether rats - animals undergo homosexuality, since the argument now is that homosexuality is based genes and environmental factors. grin
Hilarious. . . . . .
That i prefer Man Utd to Arsenal is also based on ma genes??
Some people are so poor in spirit rainbow appears to em in only black n white.

What a heap of applesauce.
Pataki, i suggest you ignore comments like this.
They are not EDIFYING. grin
In fact, after considering your inputs, I opt out. grin
PoliticsRe: Homosexuals Storm National Assembly by Pataki: 7:40pm On Mar 12, 2009
I believe sexuality is a continuous spectrum. some are gay, some are straight, some are bi and some are umm curious.  Whether people act on their homosexuality is based on genes whather it's accepted in the society they live in.   We have idiots in the mormon church or guys like TED HUGGARD who think homosexuality can be liberated from people spiritually.
grin

Seriously, are you a jester? Homosexuality is based on genes? Engaging in pre-marital sex is also based on my genes? Bestiality, rape, adultery, are all based on genes right? I am really being gob-smacked at the amazing discovery of tolerance and homosexuality in Nigeria!

I am sure very soon, tolerance would be tendered at the National Assembly for wanting to engage in bestiality.

Yes but what you fail to realise that norms are not fixed, there was a time it was the norm for black to be slaves, society expected blacks to conform to that norm, it was the norm for women to be subservient to their husbands and to have no aspirations. Who decides what these norms are, do we follow them involuntarily or can we challenge them? The tune of law is played by whichever tyrant holds they flute of power, were it be the case the people blindly conformed to norms, aparthied would be all the rage still and Britain would still a 2/3rds of the world.
A silent you are trying to pass across here is that homosexuality paves way for development. Kindly give in any instance, how this is so.

Back to the main content of your write-up, gay right will NEVER be upheld in Nigeria. It can be obtainable in European countries, but in Nigeria - Africa, it is considered barbaric and insanely offensive to the norms and dictates of the society. No matter who is playing the flute of power.

but fornication, adultery, etal are to the tune of the law?

i repeat - Nigeria is not a Theocracy. if we want to establish laws against homosexuals, then we should go the whole hog and take dual sharia /Christian law.

oya all of you come and collect your complimentary 100 lashes - i know virtually all of you throwing the first stone have commited fornication, not so? abi you don't know that sex outside of holy matrimony is deviation of the highest order?
Nigeria is not under theocracy, that I do know. Does our constitution allow for homosexuality? NO! Let's stick to that and stop this noise of Sharia nonsense.

No the western media doesn't decide what's acceptable and unacceptable.  Do you think people in Nigeria turn gay because they saw it in a western movie?
Are you also of the mindset that people are born gay? grin

I am not tryna force my view on anyone, it's just I am just rather baffled as to how people can blithely call for the random execution of other humans because of their sexual orientation, it leaves me astounded but I do not know why, I mean I am used to unabashed myopia from some NLer.
Pardon me to answer you, but there are dictates and norms which the society expects one to conform to. An homosexual is a deviant to such norms within the Nigerian context. Hence, they should be ready to dance to the tune of the law.

Stop preaching about tolerance here. It does not wash down the dictates and expectations to the law of the society.

Fine, but why should their innocuous choice be justification to deprive them of their fundamental human rights? Have you condemned the many people
1. that joyously choose to have premarital sex?
2. that joyously choose to commit adultery?
3. that joyously choose to have sex with inanimate objects (drilling a hole in the mattress is not uncommon among teenage boys in Naija, especially in boarding houses)?
4. that joyously choose to commit incest (your former president and her daughter-in-law who even admitted her own dad had sex with her)?
5. that joyously choose to have sex with minors (I know guys in their twenties and thirties banging 15 and 16 year old girls in Naija)?
6. that joyously choose to exploit Nigerian girls (80% of Nigerian politicians, the men, exploit Nigerian young ladies, using them as sex slaves in a country where girls sell their bodies to get some reprieve from grinding poverty)?
7. that joyously choose to abuse Nigerian female students (male lecturers and professors regularly exploit female students by giving them good grades and getting sex in return)?

I believe homosexuality is a wrong choice, however, I also believe that their fundamental human, legal and civil rights must be protected!
What fundamental human rights? Every deviation from the norm has its dire consequences. It is obtainable with any society. How many societies tolerate: rape, bestiality, fornication, pre-marital sex, murder, etc, all in the name of tolerance and human right. Homosexuality is wrong and if caught in the act, one should be ready to face the tune of the music as applicable under the law.

Homosexuality should NEVER be tolerated in Nigeria.

TOLERANCE! I have heard that word a million times on this thread. grin It not about selfish thinking as you are trying to imply, but rather what the dictates of the society demands. Homosexuality is wrong, let us stop coloring it with all forms of English expressions.

don't christians and muslims share relatively the same moral family values.  Sharia law is the law of moses, a reverred prophet in Christianity. Your belief that homosexuality is a form of sexual deviation is based on religion so what makes you different from people that want Sharia law?
Ask yourself one question. If shari'a law were to be implemented across the length and breadth of Nigeria, would gay right ever be spoken of? NO!

That it does not hold at the moment, does not mean, stupidity (homosexuality) should now be accepted all in the name of tolerance.

pataki, there is no middle way

do you actually think that adultery and premarital sex are not also abominations before God?

or that the fact they are practised by a majority somehow lessens the import?

you people disappoint me. really.
Lets not even start on that now. Trust me, it will take a whole new dimension and digression from the topic. Another thread and time is more appropriate for discussions on that subject matter.

Do not be too hasty to start pushing for that barbaric act called shari'a. In best case scenario as applicable with Arabic countries, it can be applicable to dealing with homosexuality and all other forms of sexual deviations.

I can't stand gays and what they represent.
Personally, i think marriage has been devalued with this same-sex schitzo all in the name of human rights.
In the next 20 years, people would start marrying their pets and their LCDs/Laptops.
Buncha sexual deviants!!!!
Any act that deviates from the norms of the society should not be accepted. Is it not rather amazing these silly dcikheads are now shouting for tolerance.

I say it one more time, they should all be STONED. With all passion, homosexuality is WRONG. It has never paved way for development, attributing it to developed countries is the most silly form of argument, I can ever hear on this section today.

i'm inclining on bestiality? nice shot dude.

Europe is the developed society it is due to tolerance.  Freedom of expression and Freedom of though is what has turned Europe to what it is today.  Homosexuality is WRONG to you? fine just don't expect everyone to agree with you.
And neither should you expect that the society will agree to accepting homosexuality into its norms not in a society like Nigeria or Africa in global context.

The bigotry in this thread is alarming.  comments like hang them gays, kill them, jail them brings images of Europe in the Dark Ages.  Nigeria and Africa in general has a long way to go when it comes to tolerance.

the funny thing about calling gays 3/4 or 3/5 human is that Blacks were categorized in such terms.  The irony.
Tolerance? I should as well tolerate beastiality if going by the trend to which you inclining on right?

That Europe tolerates such nonsense does not imply Nigeria and Africa should follow that same inanity. Homosexuality is WRONG. Let us call a spade a spade and not an agricultural implement please!

Getting back to the topic, what would you do to get Lagos from that first place? I know traffic is hell there, but that isn't so strange since everybody just can buy a driverslicence for 5000 naira and start driving cars there! There has to be rules! And people have to be willing to obey those rules. It's not only about the traffic, it concerns all the issues Nigeria has. Everybody complains about how bad it is overthere, but is anybody willing to do anything about it? I think the biggest issue is corruption. I heard that even teachers get paid for giving specific papers, it breaks my heart, it shouldn't be this way! There need to be more woman in politics and maybe even more companies willing to invest in the country. If the payments for the jobs would be better, they don't need to use corruption, Or am i totally wrong here?

So what can you do to make it a better place?
How does more women in politics, help to improve the status of Lagos State from the current situation under which it is been reviewed and stated? Furthermore, investment of more companies in Lagos: In which way does this improve the already over-populated situation in which Lagos finds itself at the moment?

How many of these gay people have a relatively comfortable life to live in Nigeria? Basic amenities of life are lacking in high proportion across the nation, some retards are busy thinking of how to satisfy their own lusts and human desires?

Seriously, Nigerians themselves are the greatest problem to the development of Nigeria.
