dayokanu:I posted my rejoinder to you earlier on, you simply skipped it over and here you are jumping onto an analogy that has no correlation to the subject matter. Would I be right to say your analogy here is very puerile. For one, you took my quote out of context. It was meant in the context of Nigerians who are ready to pay for their wards to go through the high expense of a private university. Have they in any way come knocking at your door for help relief and complaint that Adeboye is sucking them dry? Secondly, in what way is Adeboye stealing from the people? If you have evidence to show for it, there are agencies in Nigeria responsible for investigating into this matter. Kindly submit your proof for all to see. It is so easy to sit behind a computer and type all manner of jargons without been held accountable for all sort of lies fabricated. ![]() |
Jakumo:Indeed you are truly a jester. I have simply required of you, evidence to substantiate and validate your incessant obtuse rejoinder to the claims you keep alleging. However, your irascibility towards the growth of Redeem will not make you permeate to the level of plausible reasoning. Hence your excellent way to dribble around with words and jump on my back to refute that my own experience which several others must have experienced becomes negligible. Therefore, it is best I let you be. |
Jakumo:False assumptions! When last did you ply the Lagos - Ibadan Expressway? Yes there have been complaint in the time past about the living horror commuters go through on that road most especially during the period of Redeem having their meetings/convention. The last time I happened to pass that Expressway, I feared for the worst as it was the day for their convention. I was however impressed that within couple of minutes, our car had gone smoothly from the camp without hassles. No thanks to the operational work of the FRSC that evening. It may not be perfect yet, but there is a conscious awareness towards CHANGE in respecting that there are other commuters plying that road. In case you failed to see my point, I asked for evidence (not only video evidence) to show that religious leaders have an influence on political heavyweights so much that concerns raised by commuters on that road have been succinctly silenced. Even when the fact remains that Nigeria is a secular state. Yet you would rather prefer as always to skylark with words. ![]() Talking about economic artery being blocked because of Redeem on that road, smacks of you being a jester worthy of a show at the medieval courts. Are you aware that Dangote has most of his trucks packed along that road as well? At the same time, BLW, MFM, An Islamic Organization ( I have forgotten their name) as well have their camps situated along that road? |
bawomolo:I am really gob smacked with the way you dribble round this ' You are however yet to show me a Cheap University anywhere in the world managed by a Church.bawomolo:Is it not amazing that those who talk about this matter frustratingly, are not even members of Redeem themselves. Even among Government Universities, the prices differ. The ridiculous amount you pay to State funded university is different from what you would pay to a Federal University in Nigeria. Even though, we should assume that these universities are funded minimally from the tax generated from its citizens. Shouldn't we expect that these universities will come by as cheap given that part of the revenue generated from the tax of its citizens is used to maintain these ivory towers of ours? bawomolo:Have Redeem members come to your door to complain about this matter to you? Why is it bugging you this much? The cycle of poverty emanates from the Nigerian Government that cannot provide job for its citizen, provide good pipe borne water, provide 24 hour electricity. Yet to you, the cycle of poverty arises from a tiny subset who are able to pay for their wards to attend a private university. ![]() bawomolo:Please tell me what more they can do for the populace? Provide good roads? Provide food and shelter for the populace? Provide education for the populace? Provide 24 hour security for lives and property? I really do not know where your point lies in here. . . . . ![]() bawomolo:Does it still remove the fact that Nigeria is a secular state? NO! |
bawomolo:Your standpoint is really warped up. Can you please provide proof to your statements here? I would love to know the intrigues of how religious leaders have manipulated political heavyweights for their own selfishness. Taken into consideration that Nigeria is a secular state. |
bawomolo:I was rather baffled when there were clear contradictions within the same statement. bawomolo:This was not your first input. Rather you were of the belief that. . . . . . . bawomolo:. If following your plausible reasoning, should I assume that you want less expensive universities, with financial aids to augment that as well? ![]() Does that make sense? bawomolo:You failed to see where my comparison lies. Let me make it simple. As there exist privately funded Primary schools, there also exist privately funded universities. And from my own experience after attending a private primary school even when there were public primary school, it was not anywhere near CHEAP. Should I then assume that a privately funded university in Nigeria would come cheap? Does that follow any logical pattern? bawomolo:So would that be the fault of Redeem, if some Nigerian parents cannot afford their children attending a privately funded university? bawomolo:Sure I agree. But I reiterate the point that, your misgivings is directed at the wrong direction. Redeem Church does not constitute the Government. If there is a disruption on the public highway, there is Federal Road Safety that can be contacted and given their public criticism for not living-up to the task given to them. bawomolo:The same question you ask me, I will throw it back at you. Why make an assumption if you do not know. Do you know whether he provides financial aids to students in need? |
bawomolo:Are you really sure? So where do I place the below quote from the same statement of yours? ![]() bawomolo: |
bawomolo:My fundamental question still lies on: Show me a cheap university anywhere in the world managed by a church? All you are saying here is universities managed by churches that provide Financial Aid. I am not sure whether Redeem has financial aid for its students, but I would suppose they do. I remember in my primary school days, I attended a Catholic primary school and right beside it was a Public Government primary school which was more or less free education. Yet my parents paid that I attend a Catholic primary school which was by no means cheap than the average public primary/secondary school even as at back then. So what exactly is worrisome to you if there are Nigerians who are willing to pay for their wards to attend such ''more expensive universities''? ![]() bawomolo:I am not turning a blind eye to it as I know those who have been entrapped in the traffic issues emanating from that road. But rather than attack the matter from the top as you are doing, your misgivings should be directed to the Government who allocated the location to Redeem without properly ensuring to see that all possible risks that would emerge in the nearest future are tackled effectively. |
Trouble dey lie fallow, devil come wake am up. Nigeria my beloved country! ![]() |
bawomolo:Please show me where in the world you have cheap education from Universities managed by churches. I am really interested in knowing what your point is. Alongside, to the traffic issue, is the Lagos - Ibadan Expressway, the only road in Nigeria that has traffic issues? What alternative source of transportation is available for commuters to ease off the traffic issues not only on that road but across the nation Nigeria? You are clearly raising an issue here, but your misgivings are in the wrong direction. |

Are you cool with the way he abetted corruption and looting of the country by corrupt politicians?@ dayokanu, My question to you is: Are the people of Redeem complaining if ''Adeboye is making money''? Please show me where church members have arisen that Adeboye is only interested in making money from them. Take into note that there are Professors, Bankers, Accountants, Doctors, learned men and women of different professions not only from Nigeria but across the globe who are members of The Redeem Church. So how is it possible that he has hoodwinked them into siphoning money from them? I need your answer to that. Coming back to the issue of traffic on the Lagos - Ibadan expressway, I have heard numerous stories of people spending hours on that expressway. I used to think it was all lies not until I got into the situation personally myself. I left Ketu Bus Stop at exactly 6pm friday evening after coming from VI, struggled to get a car to board to Abeokuta simply because there was fuel crisis at that period in time. We got on the Expressway after some couple of miles from Berger and we got stuck in these traffic jam. Sincerely our car did not move until 9am the following morning. Spent 15 hours on the road doing nothing for a journey of 1hour or thereabout. What was the cause of the jam? A truck carrying oil had split on the road causing severe accidents. It was not a Redeem convention or MFM or any other of those churches on the express way but just an ordinary oil truck that had an accident and fell to obstruct the road. We ended up spending 15 hours to get out of it. If your grouse is with Adeboye obstructing the road, do not blame him. Afterall, right here in London, Adeboye came for Festival of Life last November and there was never an occurrence of London roads becoming blocked simply because the Government has made all necessary facilities for easy transportation from such avenue. All Redeem needed to do was make use of the facilities as designed and transportation was made easy. Is normal day transportation in Nigeria that easy as compared to other developed nation of the world? |
topup:It is 03:00am here. I am seriously laughing my head out for basing my assumptions on your succinct way of passing across your inputs in the color of pink. ![]() Many thanks for the time and I totally appreciate our conversation this morning. Please let me know when your classes for upgrade begins as I am fast losing touch with my word power and I need an upgrade as well. ![]() |
netotse:Please do not be deceived by the way I am typing this morning. I have come across as being very crude and rude on this forum. I just think I am learning to cool things down now. ![]() Nevertheless, many thanks. ![]() |
topup:Now you got me speechless. When I saw you had responded again, I asked myself how did she do it?! I value your inputs as it smacks of in-depth knowledge on matters of the heart. I have learnt one or two things from this topic tonight and I also say thank you for the appreciation given towards my contribution on this topic.Yeah at times there could be emotions embedded with my posts even observable by myself. I have observed from your several posts it is not the case. I admire such and I desire for it. ![]() P.S: I know you know the meaning of ''verbiage.'' It often times can come across as an insult which was not the sole intention in the context I used it in. If I could have found a much mild word as a synonym to 'verbiage' used I do have used it. But I was verbally handicapped at the time of writing. ![]() |
topup:Again you draw me back with your interesting verbiage. I must commend you for the passion to which you write which is oftentimes, devoid of emotional ties often seen with regular posts on this forum. Your conclusion was the summary to the topic and if it was that biased as I saw it, it totally negates the value of your inputs. However, many thanks for the acceptance to my correction. I would like to make a pointer clear for you. That is, you should not be quick to stereotype every man or woman that indulges in CLOSURE to be totally wrong. Situation differs and it is at times probable that one party would not reason as the other party is reasoning when found in a predicament of their relationship hitting the wall. The way I do handle my emotional battles with my partner, would be different from the way you handle yours. I may perfectly reason that CLOSURE is the ultimate way to delivering myself from the entangles of the relationship which has hit the rocks. I have often times seen that it is best when one party walks away from the relationship, it may be painful and cruel to the other partner, but hey break-ups often times is not a jolly jolly affair. So whichever way it comes, both partner should accept that things have fallen apart and it is time to move on however hurtful it may have been passed across. ![]() |
topup:You started your write-up so well. Quite interesting to read. However, you have a biased conclusion. I expected that after stating your observation regarding women who are so obsessed with CLOSURE, your conclusion will be directed to respective parties (male and female). That said, you are right in your own view and I reason with you. But in my own opinion, it is best at times, to let issues die away with time. The lady may not reason along that line, but over time she would see that closure to the matter was the best solution to setting one another free from the emotional hurt. |
earTHMama:Did you go to church today or you were busy milking those cows in Nebraska again? ![]() My hands are busy right now searching for toothpick around the house. . . . . Moonstone:Written alphabetically. I am most impressed. Thanks for the greetings. Hope we get to see again. This time I am expecting my royalties. @ Stillwater, Thanks for the appreciation. I wish you a merry Christmas as well. ![]() @ Seun, Merry Christmas to you for putting this topic on the front page. ![]() |

Adam Brody:This dude is crazy! ![]() |
Immediately she became my ex, everything about her became the past. I do not keep records of what pertains to her and I expect the same from her. We all move on with our respective lives. |
Sometimes the way NIgerians reason baffles me.Texazzpete, Do you play chess? This game between Ribadu and the FG is like a game of chess. 1. His opponent removed him as the EFCC boss ( Attacking Move 1). Ribadu complied. 2. Sent him off for a course (Attacking Move 2). Ribadu complied. 3. He was demoted from his current position (Attacking Move 3) Ribadu complied. 4. He was arrested on the day of his graduation (Attacking Move 4!) Ribadu ran to the court (His own move of defense). 5. He was allegedly attacked meant as an assasination attempt (Attacking Move 5!) Ribadu ran to the news media 6. He was given a query and asked to report to the IG(Attacking Move 6!) Ribadu declined that move! 7. He was handed a dismissal letter. (Checkmate!) Now I feel his decline to report to work was well justified. This is Nigeria, he can easily be set-up. The IG may lay accusations at him that while coming to report for duty, that he physically assaulted the IG and therefore he is seriously a potential threat to the nation. |
DaPhoenix:Nairaland and humor. ![]() I am off to my sacks. . . . That guy will turn me to a mad man in knowing who is he really. Too many psychos on nairaland abeg. ![]() |
I knew this is not Nimshi. This guy is not so difficult to decipher. The way he posts, he is definitely an old member who does not reside in Nigeria. He would rather want you to believe he is what he is rather on the contrary he is who you are thinking and not what he is making you to think. |
bluespice:Throw off that husband you have and you have the sole privilege alone to sit on my throne. ![]() |
bluespice:You want me to displace you off my seat. I never knew your territory was a no go area oh. See how Chamo dey challenge me over your matter. ![]() Oh well if it is him, he sure has an interesting character. His knowledge about Islam is solid, and yet he still knows how to switch to attacking christianity and throwing disses at peeps. What a peculiar individual. ![]() |
chika98:I do not think he is Nimshi. I just viewed who is Nimshi and their writings are far apart. Nimshi attacks Islam with a passion, hardly ever on the romance section. Adam Brody attacks women with a passion and zeal, sits on the religion board to fight Christianity. They are two mutually exclusive individuals. ![]() chamotex:Am I stepping on your territory? Na wa o! ![]() Bluespice, I know you know what you are doing. ![]() |
