Durchmann: So what's still available?Send me a mail with your choice. |
remkay2012: @ dutmond....Thank you so much for your congratulatory message. Please, I will advise you to go with $330 visa fee for your baby and try to fill DS230 form for her with 3 passport photograph to be on safer side. I am saying this, because we have passed through this situation. Our cases are similar, the only different is that you and your wife visa was approved that very day while our own also was approved but the CO asked us to come back for our visa issuance with our baby's passport.Congrats on your double blessing remkay. Meanwhile, butland is correct because I had similar case with his. Our visa was issued before we had our baby. The CO also told us then to go with our passport and come back after the baby is born but we insisted he should issue our visa first and then come back for the baby's own when he is born and he obliged. After we had the baby I sent mails to the embassy and they told us exacttly what butland said. I sent another to confirm if we would be paying for the baby visa, they said no. Because the baby will not be issued a separate visa but his passport will be joined with that of the mother. They said our case was closed as soon as our visa was issued. We will only pay for the baby's greencard processing. |
Tobi henryo: @Genlion,my interview is scheduled 3rd week in july nd as for my earlier questn abt how long it takes for a new born babys visa to be processd, someone told me that it takes 3months it 2b process and considerin dt dv 2013 closes by septembr.wanna knw so I can plan ahead.thanxAre you going to put to bed before or after your interview? If after your interview, all you need to do is to get the baby's passport, immunization record from the hospital you are using and 3 passport photograph of the baby. You will then go back to the embassy with your own visa package and they will join your passport with that of the baby. This can be done anytime after delivery and of course before Sept 30. So you don't need to wait till after 3 month. |
edojariogba: Visa approved. I just came back from the embassy. Full gist shortly. Make i eat and sleep first.Congrats bro |
edojariogba: Hello house is it possible for visa to be ready 3days time? and which of the site is used to track visa?It may be ready in 3 working days(and usually do) but they will ask you to come after 5 working days. I realized mine was ready for collection ater the 3rd day of my interview but I went a week after. So if you are not far away and not too busy you can go after 3 days. |

Please I have a concern I need to clarify. My host just raised an issue that my wife might not be able to work for several months or even years because we will be going with about 3 months old baby. His argument is that we will not be able to afford a nanny and so she has to stay at home to nurse the baby. Please experience people how true is this? |
faithman2020: Ok. I will send you a mail right now. |

kemseg2005: I am a DV 2013 winner and I have been following this thread since 2012. I must confess that you guys are wonderful and kudos to those who have made this forum a great success. Let me quickly share my interview experience which took place on June 4, 2013 (7 am appointment). We (Myself, wife & three kids) arrived the embassy at 6am in the morning and after the security check we entered the interview hall and made payment before submitting our documents.Congratulations bro. We saw you with your wonderful family on that day all smile when your visa was approved. Congrats! |

jaspa400: My interview experience.i got to the embassy around 5.30 a.m and waited till around 7 a.m,i went through all the security checks and pay my visa fee 330 dollars,i submitted my documents and wait for the CO's to arrive, interview started around 8.30am,my number appeared @ window 14Congratulations to you jasper. Hope the other guy we sat together also got his visa? |

Thanks for always been there brother.I didn't know it is that simple. The plan was actually to have the baby over there however the interview was delayed till now. There is no way we can make it down now because we are just a few weeks to delivery day. |
Please I need advice on how to go about something. My Visa was just granted yesterday, however I am expecting a baby in a few weeks from now. The CO told me when the baby is born we should come with her passport and medicals to get visa for her. I just want to know what process I will go through. Do I have to contact KCC first and what are the forms I will fill. Please advice. |
We got to the embassy around 6.20 a.m. We parked at the car park for #1,000 and then move to the U.S embassy to join the line around 6.30 a.m. I will say we were already late by then because the line was already long. Just about 4 people came after us (jaspa 400 was one of those who came after us). We went through all the protocols and in the hall we paid $990 (for my son, my wife and me). We submitted our documents and waiting for the COs to arrive. They finally started the interview around 8.30 a.m. First at 2 cubicles, (14 and 15) later another CO joined at 16. They were all male. The first 3 people that were called were all couples, 2 with children the other without children. All of them were granted visa. My family was number 4 to be called at window 14. The guy in window 14 was the youngest and seems to be tough on the first couple he interviewed. He spent almost 30 minutes with them before he granted them visa. The interview proper went this way: CO: Good morning Me, Wife and Son: Good morning sir CO: Can you sign this form on the yellow line? Me: Sure (I signed and he gave my wife her own to sign and then asked me to sign for my son) CO: Do you swear to say the truth Me: Yes we do Co: Who is the principal applicant? Me: Me CO: What is your highest qualification? ME: Bachelor Degree CO: Which school Me: O.A.U CO: Did you serve Me: Yes CO: Where ME: Benin CO: Ok She then turned to my wife CO: Madam, you are expecting a baby? Wife: Yes CO: When are you due Wife:XYZ Co:O.k you will process her visa separately after delivery OR I will return your passport to you, when you have your baby you can come back and I will issue for all of you ME:No, cant you issue for the 3 of us first and when the baby comes we will process her own separately CO: of course I can if you want. ME: Yes I want Co:ok He then brought out the white paper, circle the address and told us to go there on tuesday next week to collect the visa. He also gave us the sheet for payment of GC processing and told us to get passport and medical report for the baby and bring her after delivery. That was the whole story people. In less than 5 minutes we were done. I went with heavy albums with a lot of supporting documents, non of them were asked for. POINT TO NOTE 1. It seems they have surplus visa left as they were not really thorough in the interview again as much as they did in the earlier stage.(My thought though). So, it is an encouragement for those with high case number it might after all be a blessing in disguise for you. 2. I went with 2 O Level results, one SSCE and one GCE same year in 1995. The SSCE has P7 in English while all other results were very good, while GCE has Credit in English with all other results also good. The guy told me both of them were fine and he advise I use the WAEC with P7 in English it doesnt matter. So, 5 credit is 5 credit not necessarily in any subject. I thank God for everything and very grateful to this forum too. I met jaspa 400 over there I'm sure he will share his testimony soon. 2. |
Ladies and gentlemen, magnify the Lord with me VISA APPROVED!!! |
Kunlexymoore: Regulars on this forum, where are you guys?? This forum is getting boring!!! Yeah, I know most of us are thru with our visa processing but settling down properly in a 'foreign land' is equally important. Your inputs are still very much needed here both about your experiences over there and responding to questions begging for answers here. I'll attempt to mention a few names: Adesojiaderemi, Gentiger, Temmytanny, Godhelpmeooo, Junkerhill, femsoj, Spoondar, Leripa, Honeydee, Brightmoon, Imcool, Jamaicanlady etc. Where are u guys?? Abeg show face o!Hmmm my brother, what has a beginning must surely has an end even if it is a record-breaking thread with 751 pages. This thread is gradually nearing the end of its useful life. But overall it has been great. There is no question on Dv lottery that CANNOT find all various kind of answers here. So it should be kept as a monument. |
