Misericorde:Villages across Igboland have it. |
“Our preliminary investigation indicated that the fire spread to the shops and other places when some traders attempted to burn sawdust.”....Why burn the sawdust? |
See pot of stew beneath the table! ![]() |
Sad! |
tuniski:I leave it at that as every community has its own definition of development and have chosen to be comfortable with it. |
tuniski:I work with international development organizations where l am into sustainability, utilizing what is readily and locally available to a community to create wealth. On a regular basis the media is being awash with pictures of packets of rice being shared to people who should be economically active and being a source of revenue to the state, l do prefer to see pictures where these people are productively engaged. I am no joking elite, l share realistic thoughts that makes sense to the dignity of man. People queued up during the biafra civil war to collect packs of relief materials, this is no war time! The poverty of ideas is our greatest undoing! |
tuniski:He is fed today, is he being empowered to feed himself tomorrow? |
caesaraba:Do check out with your state's Agricultural Development Programme office, they should be in a position to link you up with local fabricators of threshers because the Anambra State's office did help link us up with a fabricator in Awka. |
"Noting that over 500 training opportunities in area of agriculture await them at Ngbakwu. Obiano stated that the state this project will create about 500 direct and indirect jobs for the youths of the state especially the youths from Anambra east area.He further said that this project has capacity of increasing the Internally generated revenue of the state drastically ......describing agriculture as a very lucrative and viable means of economic development and wealth creation".......That is good while some people are in another thread saying we should be appreciative that a Governor is sharing out a one or two Kilo packs of rice! Practically empower a man, he will personally defeat poverty! |
arumay:Though not presently not on ground, there are areas producing rice where l come from, I tend focusing on increasing their capacity thereby increasing production and at a lower cost with the utilization of simple low fuel consuming machinery and most importantly create many products from rice husks which is being regarded as waste. There are so much opportunities across Nigeria within the Agriculture sector that gets foreigners salivating, I see things across Kenya and know Nigeria is a gold-mine waiting to be explored! |
IRserveMyComent:I need no one to teach me as producing tonnes of rice is already on my CV! Did it way back as l was part of the project that multiplied the NERICA rice variety that was sold back to the Federal government. I am more concerned with what is sustainable for both the people and the government. |
Originality007:Last year, was same not shared? Between then and now are there news that the state has empowered many into commercially growing rice? Empower a man with practical knowledge, he will personally defeat hunger! |
ArcEmmanuel:I appreciate the good deeds that is geared towards sustainable empowerment! These people should be empowered to be source of income for the state and not for them to depend on crumbs from the state. I am deeply involved in agriculture (go check the agric section) and can boldly say this is a clear case of wasting human resources! ![]() |
caesaraba:Those hand-held ones should no cost beyond $200. I recall posting a video of it being used in one thread. The thresher can be sourced locally. Where is your farm located? |
Between Monday and Thursday he has already been charged to court and granted bail which he is yet to perfect. So our judicial sysyem is this swift! |
caesaraba:Do make sure you acquire a harvester and a thresher, anything outside these would make no sense as manual labour will be a waste of money. |
Disheartening such is from people who should know better! |
Religion is really a big issue. |
"When you have 11 planes, your ways are not like the ways of those queuing for fuel in Lagos and Abuja".......Well captured! |
I am for empowering those able-bodied recipients to grow the rice. Why give a man a kilo of rice when he can be empowered to produce tonnes of it within 4 months! Rice farming is no rocket science! |
No one was born immediately after conception, it involves time and dedicated care. |
I am not much of a poultry person but l love such sight but most importantly l love guinea fowl eggs! ![]()

Pepino melons helps in lowering blood pressure, stroke and liver problems. Harvest is about 4 to 5 months after planting. Nigeria's weather is ideal for its cultivation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnCJNs0bxM4

They even suggested other African countries! ![]() |
Elxandre:It is N500 weekly and one gets 100mins of call across all networks in Kenya, 500sms to all networks and 500MB. Even if one exhausts that 500MB within the first hour of subscribing, one can still Skype, Youtube streaming and downloads and other internet services till the 7 days expires. Obce opt for the 30 days plan which is N2,000 for 2GB, 2000sms and 400mins of call. Below is my balance and l have been watching documentaries on Youtube! You are currently using UnlimiNET 250 Weekly Plan valid until 01-04-16 19:49. Balance is 0MB data, 16minutes to ALL networks and 484SMS. Thank you. |
I download, I stream......since one can do both with 0MB on Airtel Kenya unlimitnet plan which they offer their subcribers. |
One has to very careful because there are a whole lot of fraudsters disguising as agents. |
That will be traumatizing for them! |
WhoRUDeceiving:My thoughts does not revolve around APC/PDP nor Nigeria/Biafra, my thoughts revolves around what l have control over as l know l can never solve all the world's problems. Who will come and close down my strawberry farm or dairy farm? Rather it will be a tourist attraction! Bros, l have travelled enough to know what type of change l desire! When l transfer knowledge to youths in the communities and they become productive and earn a comfortable income from their agro ventures. will it not help in reducing crime rate and most importantly the belief one must head out to Lagos or other cities outside igboland before they can get opportunities! |
Lucy the farmer.........love her focus.
|
remmyjay007:We need to build our own network. |
WhoRUDeceiving:The Governor came up with the excuse that the herdsmen were foreigners! Is that enough reason? Am a Nigerian passport holder and your concept of "change" is way beneath me as the change l intend bringing to my home state, Imo is to revolutionize agriculture where a young man in Mbano can run a dairy farm producing fresh milk daily, co-operatives of women in Orlu can comfortably organically grow strawberries and supply to Shoprite in Owerri and other upscale stores.......this is the change l am looking forward to because it is achievable! ![]() |
