one thing about Africans they think being diabolical is being spiritual.
They can afford to go to juju because they think juju works, But things don't work that way in real life.
Because they believe juju works that makes them think rapture will work.
white men knows juju don't work, rapture is riddle, not real life. so they preach it to mumu africans because they know africans believe in juju and diabolism which do not exist in the real sense.
Today Africa remain in delusion and confusion .
Na only education go save Africa

This rapture name had already been written to you by another quoter, explaining where people get the rapture name from, where Jesus had written we will be caught up together with them in the clouds. Thessalonians 4:17 . Caught up is another meaning to Rapture.
That is a big lie.
caught is never rapture.
caught is interaction of people here on earth.
caught up is, we are alive here on earth, and people who once died, they resurrect and we who are alive see them and interact(caught up ) with them.
This thing happen everyday But you people are blind.
You don't understand scriptures.
If you like, go back again and calm down and read the whole chapter of 1 thes 4 ,word for word, from the beginning to the end, it's for your own good .
when a person dies people weep and there is sorrow, But happiness comes when a child is given birth to. This is the caught up.
1 Thes 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
christians who understand it uses this scripture to comfort fellow christians who are bereaved of their love ones, that they are not dead but are alive interacting(caught up with other christians who alive) somewhere on earth.
And our new born babes caught up with us at birth.
This is what the scripture is trying to explain when it says
...together with them in the clouds, to meet the lord in the air.
it is this statement that is confusing you people .
You are not a small child.
Grow up, think and understand

You and your parter in crime Paxonel are either false prophets, or you are both on drugs. I have read your quotations and all I have witnessed, you both have a mocking spirit hanging over you, shown no remorse towards any of the believers in Christ.
Paxonel don't like the Africans because He/she claims they don't read.
It seems you both work as a team twisting the word of God 'denying its power. Jesus was speaking about the end of the age {Meaning the end of the world}
But as you can see the world has life still, and as Paxonel claim's the world had already ended when Jesus was crucified, back then. And as he/she continual's in word 'we are now living in heaven on earth, so their is no longer 'the end of the world' theory left.
Listen with this sort of information you are both wasting your time, you can't turn Christians away from believing the truth, they believe-not only by faith but in works also. It shows clearly you are both trying so hard to draw people away from the Lord, do you really believe in Jesus-even the demons believe and tremble.
The bible isn't just written in the flesh 'and in black and white-its written in the Spirit, and in colour.
I don't really understand where you are coming from-but let me guess-spirits don't actually die. They either travel to be with the lord in heaven, or they end up burning in hell for eternity.
"Ho sorry," Paxonel claims this is heaven huh
Luke 16:19-31 "The beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's bosom, and also the rich man dies and he was delivered to torment in Hades, and he lifted up his eye's and saw Abraham afar off, and the poor man in his bosom.
As the story continual's the rich man asked Abraham to send the poor man Lazarus to his fathers house, {Mind you they had both died and now they are in the spirit} the rich man had asked Abraham to send the poor man Lazarus from the dead, so Lazarus will witness to the brothers that they will believe, and Abraham said he can't send Lazarus to them, and if your brothers need to believe, let them listen to Moses and the prophets, and if they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they listen though one raised from the dead.

Your words-Quote> the clock is ticking on-one knows when his or hers time will end. {But the lord knows, as its written}
so you do not understand one thing in all i was saying you are countering me?
if you like, call me names.
those who understand my point have understood me.
certainly, there will be changes in the way they perceive the scriptures when they go back to read again.
with that, there will be change in their mentality.
They will not be reasoning like the average nigerian reasons, and they will not take religion seriously again so that they will begin to take education and national development seriously for their benefit.
i have a lot of guys like this and their signature with their email on nairaland.
so, i will be the one to tell you, that you are wasting your time countering me.
You are fighting God and you, can never win.
Nigeria will surely change.

Sorry but you should read that scripture well with open heart. Verse 1: new heaven and earth, verse 2: new Jerusalem. The new Jerusalem is not heaven. That verse clearly states it is a city only that this one is in the new heaven and will come down to the new earth.

Before I comment on your statement on rapture, let me ask what you mean by that word.
whether new heaven or new Jerusalem name do not matter.
All i was pointing out was, something came down from heaven to earth.
You can't dispute that fact.
English dictionary defined rapture as a feeling of great happiness or excitement.
i do not see how that definition correlate with people flying or disappearing to the clouds.
Christians should also know that sometimes the Bible uses the word heaven to mean the natural clouds up, and not some spiritual realm

The world will see that man of lawlessness has the real deal but he will violently attack the Church. And like James was killed by Herod, he will be allowed to have his way for a season. According to Daniel 11, he will give preferential treatment to Christians who turn away from the holy covenant we have with God in Christ. (This calls for the faith AND patience of the saint.) But those who know their God will be strong and do exploit.
alright!
you have not been able to define Antichrist in the first place.
Antichrists ( against Christ or Christianity ) are people of other religions who fights to eliminate Christianity by killing christians.
Example is boko haram.
Paul, before he was converted was Antichrist because he killed and pesecuted Christians.
in general, antichrists were the Jews who refuses to be converted into Christianity, who denied that Jesus is the Christ, who killed christians because they thought that preaching Jesus Christ was heresy, so they killed the disciples.
1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
so, the Jews, having the old covenant from God, denied that Jesus is the Christ.
They are still waiting for the Christ to come till now, just like christians are still foolishly waiting for rapture.
meanwhile, Jesus has already come and gone

You don't like to term clouds then your argument is with God.
And I never said 1 Corinthians 15:52 was the rapture in the first place, you have me mixed up with another quoter's.
I suppose you have been speaking so much rubbish, you can't keep up with your own quotations to whom?.
Quote>That's why they say, black men always run into problems because they don't read?
Who says? You.
And what gives you the idea my skin colour is black-and not white? Besides what has the colour of a man' got anything to do with anything, in God we are all the same.
Black, white, brown, yellow, who cares. As far I am concerned those who believe are all brothers and sisters in Christ.
So who are you to judge ones colour and what makes you any betterhuh

You still don't get it, you have been trying to convince others, about your own personnel beliefs, on how you feel the bible should read, and we Christians must turn to you, you believe you to have all the answers. "NOT."
1 Corinthians 15-50-58 "Is about the final victory, firstly flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven, be hold we shall not all sleep but we shall be all changed. in a twinkling of an eye, for the trumpet will sound and the dead shall raise, "incorruptible"{meaning to say we have changed, from corruption to incorruptible} at the last trumpet we shall be all changed. And this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
{Meaning the ability to live forever, eternal life, everlasting life, deathlessness, everlastingness, timelessness}
"So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that its written: Death is swallowed up in victory."
No more death. Jesus said: he is the bread of life, the light of the world, the gate, the good shepherd, the resurrection and the life, the way and the truth and the life, the true vine.
O Death where is your sting huh O Hades where is your victory huh
The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.
"But thanks be to God who has given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Just by believing we have overcome death to life.
Thank God you agree with me that 1 cor 15:52 is not talking about rapture.
i don't know where you people are getting that rapture thing from.
certainly, not the Bible

You say we Christians don't study our bibles, are you talking for yourself as wellhuh Or just us other Christians?
It seems the only scripture you know is 1 Corinthians 15.
You need to open your bible on regular bases and search it deeper, you will be amazed what you will find? Believe it or not there are other verses that backs up 1 Corinthians 15-and it may blow your mind, so I advise you to sit down first, we wouldn't want to hear 'you have falling over and bumped your head.
And because you believe the black fella's always run into problems because they don't read enough. By your statement It seems you believe you sit above, and the black people sit below?
This is a very sad way of thinking, so I have to advised you to sit down before you find any more information about any more truth in Christ, and how Christ is coming back for His bride the Church.
Revelation 21:1 "For the first heaven and the first earth passed away and there was no-longer any sea. {Meaning to say, our earth is not heaven-and its not Hell either, our earth is a place for making the right choices}
Matthew 24:35 "Heaven and earth will pass away but My words will never pass away.
Again if you don't like what the word says about meeting the dead in the clouds, talk to the lord about it. And tell Him He's wrong and your right.
You quoted revelation 21:1
why don't you quote verse 2 so that you will understand the verse 1 you quoted?
Revelation 21:2 says And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
So, heaven has already come down from heaven.
no rapture.
about 95 percent Nigerian christians still believe their is rapture till now.
why will Nigeria not be a corruption nation?
Because their believe system is faulty.
rapture doctrine has made Nigerians not to stand up for their right and seek justice.
they want to go to heaven in the clouds .
meanwhile heaven is right inside them.
heaven is not a place.
heaven is people on earth.
Jesus says i will build my church.
he built his church since 2000 years ago.
that church is heaven on earth, it is people on earth, it is all christians, not any place in the clouds.
white men who brought Christianity to Africa understand this truth, africans just dey mumu themselves.
if you go to Europe you see how white men are enjoying their lives. They now understand Bible.
so, they take education seriously and develop their world.
they don't have time for foolish rapture delusion.

But Africans just they kill themselves.
poverty won finish Africa because them they wait for rapture, them nor won take education seriously
them nor won work

"Quote>And if people die they also lost contact with there love ones.
Not if their love ones were Christians, Jesus said at the end of the age, we will meet the dead in the clouds.
in the clouds?
clouds is figurative statement which means heaven on earth.
please earth is better than clouds.
Adam and Eve sinned and lost eternal life here on earth.
Jesus died and resurrected and restore that eternal life Adam and Eve lost, here on earth and not in the clouds.
so, eternal life here on earth is real.
Go and read the whole chapter of 1cor 15 and draw out the summary and find out why Paul will say a thing like
o death, where is your sting
grave, where is your victory .
After summarizing the chapter, if you are still saying that I cor 15:52 is rapture, then you really need to understand what a constructive argument is.
Because, the whole of that chapter is a constructive argument and
the summary of that chapter is
1 Corinthians 15:21 For since by man(Adam ) came death, by man(the son of man, which is Jesus ) came also the resurrection of the dead.
1 corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
Now, your rapture concept which is never mentioned anywhere in the Bible is never resurrection of the dead.
Resurrection of the dead entails that humans resurrect and live here on earth and nothing else.
If you are not living here on earth it is never resurrection..
I will liken you people to be the same as the saducees who says there is no resurrection of the dead. By that, i begin to wonder if you are truly christians?
But because you say you believe that Jesus is your saviour, you are saved by your believe (faith ).
Therefore, i cannot say you are not Christians.
Its just that, you people don't know why you are believing in Jesus, you were born into Christian family, confused by some ancient Catholic rapture doctrine which have no scriptural basis. you don't study your Bible to know why you are christians.
You read figurative statements in Bible(eg 1cor 15:52) without finding out the meaning.
You did not read the whole chapter either, so that you will know why 1cor 15:52 is there.
That's why they say, black man will always run into problem because they don't read

Your not understanding the scripture Matthew 24:21 "Jesus was predicting the future, and when He said until this time, He was talking in terms of the great tribulation at the end of the age.

Even the prophets in the Old testament, prophesied of Jesus's coming, they spoke well and truly into the future, not at their own time flame.
This is why we have the Old testament and the New testament.
Since you believe we are already in heaven on earth in this day and age, then at least you could show me in scripture where the Lord allowed Sin into heavenhuh
2 Corinthians 12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise(heaven ), and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful(sinful ) for a man to utter.
the question is, do angels speak sinful words?
the answer is no.
it is humans that are sinful.
so, if God is merciful to sinners and bring them into his kingdom, who are we to question him?
Angels even say what is man that thou(God)should mindful of him? ( I can't remember the scripture )
Another thing is,
Revelation 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it(heaven )
the question is, assuming heaven is beyond the clouds, how will the kings of earth bring their glory to it?
They will climb ladder?
lol

Thank you for drawing my attention to my choice of the word "Antichrist".
* The word antichrist or false christs appear in plural in the Bible because in a sense there "are MANY antichrist in the world" since the time of the apostles as shown in these scriptures:

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
—1 John 2:18 KJV

Many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh; any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist!
--2 John 1:7 NRSV

Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.
—1 John 2:22 NRSV

By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. And this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming; and now it is already in the world.
—1 John 4:2–3 NRSV

But there is a man, whom Daniel described as a king of the North (Daniel 11) who will "magnify himself above every god and will say unheard-of things against the God of gods" (Dan. 11:36), Paul described him as the lawless one/ man of lawlessness and called the season of his being revealed " the rebellion" (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4), in the book of Revelation he was referred to "the beast" who came out of the sea (Revelation 13:1-10).

The description by these three scriptural witnesses were of a singular individual. He also fulfills the description of one of the "many antichrists" because he denies the Father and the Son (2 John 1:7). That is why he his called "the antichrist. Just like there many anointed ones but only one " the Anointed One" that is, " the Christ".
The man of lawlessness is more appropriate though.
ok.,
from the scriptures, antichrists are humans, not spirits, even though it says the spirit of Antichrist ?

Jesus is very clear on this question; evangelist sometimes try to scare people to Christ using the tribulation. The word "tribulation" is also called "distress" and there is one before what is popularly called the rapture which is in the scripture below and is triggered by the revelation of the antichrist which also will happen before the "rapture" (2 Thessalonians 2:1-3). During this period, the just shall in real sense live by faith. This is the time to learn to absolutely trust in God and live by faith in His promises otherwise one will become part of those who will "fall away".
Read what Jesus said below:

Matthew 24:21-30New King James Version (NKJV)

21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.

26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.

29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory

Jesus told us not to be afraid and not to be cowards. We must be ready to stand true to our love for God and for one another despite global hatred on a larger scale against Christians that is coming upon the Church.
*The tribulation comes with the antiChrist,
*After the rapture the antiChrist will continue reigning
* but we will return with Christ to overthrow him (Revelation 19) and start the millennium (1000 years) reign with Christ on this earth(Revelation 20).
* Those who died for Christ during the reign of the antiChrist after the rapture will be raised up to reign with those who went with Christ at the rapture and returned (Revelation 20:5)
* Satan will be bound all this time
* After the 1000 years Satan will be released and he will deceive and lead war against Christ but his people will be devoured and he will be thrown into the lake of fire(Revelation 20:7-10)
* After the war the " Great White Throne Judgment" of all will take place
Bros o

My brother I will have you understand the Scripture for yourself and not what you are taught in church of Christ fellowship.

There will be "Caught up" of believers the Scripture clearly portrays that in 1 Thess 4:15 " Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

Many call it rapture the Scripture says "A caught Up".

So question is "Will there be a caught up or not?
i am not church of Christ.
church of christ never explained scriptures extensively .
ok, may be you didn't see this .
consider all these scriptures and have a rethinking of them.
resurrection of the dead here on earth is real.
check my other comments on this thread
1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself
shall descend from heaven with a shout, with
the voice of the archangel, and with the trump
of God(This is a figurative language(find out the meaning of figurative language in English dictionary ) which summary meaning is, we shall die. Death is like God calling people using trumpet(in those days trumpet was used to call people either for battle or something ) that our time to
die has come. This happen to everybody on
earth ): and the dead in Christ shall rise first
( Dead in Christ means those who die as
Christians not as Muslims,That those who die
as christians will rise (resurrect first, followed
by non christians. Then everybody will face
judgment..it is appointed once for men to die,
after that judgment. After judgment which will
last at the period of eye blinking(twinkling of the eye in 1 Corinthians which is eye closed(death ) and open again to life. see 1 cor 15:52..Christians will open their eyes without blinking again, into life, into the womb of another woman.to be born into this world as a new creature, old life have pass away .
2Timothy 2:15 says we are saved in child
bearing .
Then, non christians will not open
their eye and blink close forever and go like
that, which is the second death in revelation or
condemnation ,. Because Jesus who is the way came to found christianity for salvation making the christian faith the only accepted religion to God ):
1Thesalonians 4:17 is another figurative
language and this is the meaning
Then we who are alive(everybody will not die
at the same time, while some dies others will
be alive waiting for their time for their
trumpet to call them at their end ) and remain
shall be caught up together with them(those
who remain and did not die shall caught up or
interact with those who was given birth to,
who once lived their former life and died and
resurrected into this world ) in the clouds, to
meet the Lord in the air.(this is a figurative
language which means heaven on earth. The
clouds represent an entity known as God's
kingdom on earth which are all christians on
earth(Those who believe that Jesus is the
coming Messiah which the jews refuses to
believe ). All christians represent God's
kingdom or heaven if you understand Jesus
parables ) And so we shall ever be with the
Lord.( meaning, the lord is inside us, our body
is his temple, God is not beyond the clouds
But in us ).
is it hard to understand?
think over it meticulously

I remember listening to a Roman Catholic priest and he also didn't believe in these last day events, he stood proud mocking the word of God and those who believed, in front of the atheist on Television.
I take the word of God seriously, and if this all happened back than, then the bible will be just a storybook-nothing else-No spiritual life, No truth, No nothing.
Matthew 24: Mark and Luke reads out pretty clear to me, and when I read the end times prophesies, and I hear of the changes that are happening at a faster rate around the world, with the evidence the world has showing us, the technology the world has produce'd across our nations, I say we are heading towards that tribulation the lord had told us about.
Matthew 24: 21 "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, "No" nor shall be.
And you believe this had already happened when Jesus was crucified huh Jesus said>No-one has ever seen before, and if you are a person who is open-you yourself would know the lord was talking about our days, we live in these end of days. Not back then.
And these end times warnings are happening in this day and age-the technology we have now, wasn't around back then, not only do I believe but the world has shown us evidence we are in the end of days today, these are the days the lord has warned us about-not back then-but now.
take a look at the Matthew 24:21
Matthew 24: 21 "For then there will be great
tribulation, such as has not been since the
beginning of the world until this time, "No"
nor shall be.
did this Scripture mentioned that this great tribulation will happen in the future?
no.
Have you asked yourself why will Jesus used the phrase " until this time" ? ( meaning, that generation he was talking to his disciples when he was yet to be crucified )
The answer is not far
Matthew 24:34 Verily I say unto you,
This generation( that generation he was
talking to his disciples which was about
2000 years ago ) shall not pass, till all
these things be fulfilled.
Are you now saying that Jesus lied?
when he said some of his disciples will not die until they will see his kingdom coming with power which actually came the day he resurrected.
You all know that great tribulation will happen before the so called end of the world
please all these things have already happened 2000yrs ago.
The world ended 2000yrs ago,
technology today is never sign of end time.
infact, technology is blessing to this generation, we should take advantage of it and make life easy and sweet.
Nothing that is happening in the news today that has never happened in the pass.
let us enjoy this life
life is sweet
we are already in heaven.
no rapture
no end time.
God's kingdom on earth has no end.
Oyedepo will say heaven on earth.
God bless him for that

I suppose you need to read the hole chapter of 1 Corinthians 15: Not just bits and pieces V's 39 all flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of man, another flesh of beast, another of fish, and another of birds. There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial body is another.

The bible does not end here in "1 Corinthians, it continual's given us other scriptures written by the disciples having different views, the scriptures are back to back, don't forget the disciples had written the bible the way they had seen it, led by the Spirit of God-they had intrepid it 'so when we read it-we see it, in ways that we can understand it.

Jesus spoke in parables, so the crowd could understand Him. Without God people in genial think differently, with God we all think pretty much the same. usually when we read the bible and share the word of God, we are learning of each other.
I believe when Jesus said one must be born again-and baptised in the Holy Spirit, is the main key that opens a doorway into our own supernatural personnel life's.
James 2:14-26 "Faith without works is dead.

So do you believe in Matthew Mark and Luke when Jesus was talking about the end time events happening now' and coming our way.
In Christ I am not afraid, my argument "is" why do Christians believe they will be Rapture'd before the tribulation, and not after.
With the scriptures people have shared with me, doesn't seem to match up with the rapture theory.
These two scriptures below would be my best shot to the rapture theory-but the problem with these two is, we will have to go through the tribulation period.
Matthew 24:21-22 "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the word until this time, no, nor ever shall be. "And unless those days were shortened, No flesh would be saved; but for the elects sake those days will be shortened.
In Mark 13:20 "And unless the lord had shortened those days, No flesh would be saved; but for the elects sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days.
As you can see these two verses line up with each other, until Jesus say's in Mark whom He chose's to shortened those days. That again tells me, this is not the rapture theory.
There are too many scriptures that follow after these, I can't seem to find verses to prove we will be rapture'd before the tribulation, and already people are suffering around the world, as centuries past many have lost their lives for the Lord.

Many of the believers gave me Revelation 3:10 "which says Jesus will keep you safe from the hour of trial-and to me this scripture matches up, when Jesus says, he will never leave us, or we could read about Noah and Lot when the lord had kept them both safe, from the hour of testing that happen on the earth back then.
in all my post in this thread the summary is
End time or last days according to Matthew 24 did not say that it will happen in our present generation or any generation in our future.
But rather, Jesus, after explaining what will happen (which has already happened in that generation he was talking to his disciples, not our current generation ) he said in
Matthew 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation( that generation he was talking to his disciples which was about 2000 years ago ) shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
then he told his disciples to be ready for his crucifixion , not us
24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh(the son of man came that 2000 years ago, but the people of that generation didn't know he was the one ).
we ought to distinguish Jesus coming to be crucified for the sins of mankind which is this Matthew 24:44 from the coming of Jesus for the final judgment in
Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
which refered to death, the day we all will die Jesus will come and judge us
it appointed once for men to die, after that, judgment.
I think, the problem is, our current day Christians are too apprehensive, claiming that Matthew 24 prophesies refered to us this current generation that it is talking about rapture in our future times, which is not true
By this, they create unnecessary fear on people's mind.
There is nothing like rapture
As for the Matthew 24:21-22, revelation 3:10 and
Mark 13:20 you quoted
i will really like to expanciate how Daniel prophesied about the great tribulation which is the abomination of desolation in the book of daniel. which he refered to the time jesus will come and die for the sins of mankind, so that you may understand properly .

Didn't bother reading all that, but I get your point!

But it seems you are the one that's confused brah grin! The Bible is a spiritual book....it's written a little here and there; all coded and not arranged in series the way a novel or any other book is written. You don't go reading the whole Matt 24 and attributing it to the "abomination of desolation".

This is how the Bible is written and it's a delusional trap for those who read and follow it like a novel grin LOL

Isaiah 28:13

So the word of the LORD to them will be, "Order on order, order on order, Line on line, line on line, A little here, a little there," That they may go and stumble backward, be broken, snared and taken captive.

Sir, the word of GOD is written precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little...sometimes, even the end from the beginning! Sometimes a chapter may be referring to 4 or 5 different events scattered all over its verses!

Try studying some psalms and you will understand what I'm trying to put across! Prophecies of the coming of Christ were all mixed up with other events and prayers together...that's how the Bible is written!
not all chapters of the bible are written as Psalms and proverbs or prayers.
most scriptures are narrative, stories, events. Either by direct speech(example, Matthew 24 and all Jesus speeches written on red letters and most chapters of the book of Romans, Paul narrating his journey ) or indirect speech(example the act of the apostles which was a written events of the activities and persecution of the saints, a progressive story ) that can be read and understand if you can follow the story and think.
And collect facts from other scriptures that confirm what you are reading

Matthew 24:29-31 "Tells us which of the following-"Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
"Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear from heaven {other words to be at present} and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. "And He will send His angels with a sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his elect.
Then He continual's to say in V's 37 "But as the days of Noah were so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
So is the Lord saying everyone will see the Son of Man coming as the day's of Noah 'before the rapture?
And everyone will see the Son of Man come even the elect.

I find this interesting. this is why I love the bible.
the sign of the Son of Man will appear
from heaven is not talking about our present day or our future times..it is talking about jesus resurrection that happen 2000 years ago.
Jesus told his disciples he will appear from heaven before he was crucified.
But after the crucifixion he resurrected with great power and glory.
that is the meaning of "the son of man will appear from heaven
The son of man will appear from heaven is a figurative language which means Jesus brought down heaven on earth, that heaven is Christianity on earth.
remember, Jesus founded Christianity on earth the day he resurrected.
figurative languages are defined by english dictionary as expressions that are not in their normal literal meaning but in a way that makes a
description more interesting or impressive.
may be the word heaven is impressing you people.
All the tribes of the heaven will mourn means all the tribes will behold the son of man lifted on the cross just like moses lifted the serpent in the wilderness which literally means all tribes (both Jews and gentiles, not only the Jews ) will believe God through the crucifixion, through Jesus.
It has already started happening.
Billions of adherents of Christianity are living world wide today, including me and you, not only the Jews.
This is the power and glory of Jesus he was talking about.
This is also the meaning of the saying that he shall send his angels to gather his elects from the four corners(all nations ) of the earth.
we are the elects
we have already been gathered.
By identity we are already part of that kingdom by our faith.
the trumpet there is not rapture.
it is figurative language which means to call.
we were called using trumpet, gathered by faith, not by physical gathering or some kind of physical disappearance of people.
And the hope of our calling is for us to live eternal life here on earth.
john 3:16.
So, right now, we are living in the total will of God, how God want it to be.
No need to be afraid of this present world and envisage rapture or some kind of heaven beyond the clouds.
we should remain here, work hard and explore this world and replenish it with love in our heart

The righteous would be raptured before the hour of trial and tribulations.

Revelation 3:10

Because thou didst keep the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of trial, that hour which is to come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Matthew 24:40-42

Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Therefore be alert, since you don't know what day your Lord is coming.

After the rapture; the left-behind would be tried by the antichrist in the furnace of affliction...those who reject the mark of the beast (ways of the world) and endure to the end would saved when Christ appears in His glory to take over the world from the antichrist AKA world Government for final judgement!

Zechariah 13:8-9

And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, And I will answer them; I will say, 'They are My people,' And they will say, "The LORD our my God."

Matthew 24:13

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
This is the comprehensive detail of Matthew 24
Matthew 24 is the most confusing chapter of the Bible.
the chapter has caused confusion to nations.
Nigerian christians are the current biggest victim of this chapter.
the whole Matthew 24 was a direct
quotation of a written prophecy (including Daniel's prophecy about Jesus Christ ) quoted by
Jesus to his disciples on that day when the
world ended.(the world or that dispensation ended at Jesus resurrection. to people of the days of prophet Joel, that day of resurrection marked the last days which included the day of pentecost which was not far away from the day of resurrection of Jesus
Act 2:16-17
when the disciples asked Jesus the question in Matthew 24:3.....Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
They already read about the prophecy of the coming of the Messiah and the end of the world,
They knew Jesus was the Messiah who is to come and he has come.(the coming of Jesus )
But they wanted to know whether the world will end immediately at crucifixion because the time of crucifixion was near as Jesus and his disciples approaches Jerusalem .
even some of the disciples was thinking that heaven will come down physically immediately they arrive Jerusalem and end the world
Luke 19:11 ... because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
To answer their question, Jesus gave them the signs of his coming, the signs that was prophesied that will happen when Jesus will come and be crucified which was happening at their environment that the disciples saw.
that there will be rumors of wars
there was truly rumors of wars at that time. remember, the Roman empire invaded Israel at that time.
famine, earthquake etc also happen that time .
He also told them what will happen in the future that Christians will be pesecuted which actually happen, remember, Paul and Silas were thrown into prison, Stephen was stoned etc
He talk about the signs that just happened on their way to Jerusalem which is the great tribulation.
the Great tribulation was the journey from
Galilee to Jerusalem the disciples went through
by following Jesus. they abandoned all that
they had (peter says we have left all and follow
thee) and went through the harsh condition of
the wilderness. the bible desribed that event as
the worst in the history of mankind Matthew
24:21.
immediately after the great tribulation, Christ
was crucidied.
this is what happened during the crucifixion,
check your Bible and confirm this.
then,immediately after that tribulation matt
24:29 says SHALL THE SUN BE DARKENED,the
moon shall not give her light, the stars shall
fall from heaven (all these point to one thing
that THERE WILL BE DARKNESS)
Luke 23:44 confirmed this when Christ was
crucified .
And it was about the sixth hour(6am early in
the mourning ), and there was a DARKNESS
over all the earth until the ninth hour.(9am in
the morning )
also, earthquake was mentioned.
AND THE POWERS OF THE HEAVENS
SHALL BE SHAKENED (this signifies
EARTHQUAKE )
and truly, there was earthquake when Christ
was crucified.
Matthew 27:51.confirmed this.
And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in
twain from the top to the bottom; AND THE
EARTH DID QUAKE , and the rocks rent
all these things happened after the disciples
followed Jesus on a long journey to Jerusalem.
that journey was the great tribulation.

Christ will return in like manner as He was taken up,
and those alive in Christ at the rapture will be taken up as Christ was:

Act 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Act 1:10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Act 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Mar 13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

Rev 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

1Th 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so we shall ever be with the Lord.
Assuming these scriptures will happen exactly the way it was written without you finding out the actual interpretation of them all, that we will be raptured to heaven in the future, we are not in heaven now. then they will contradict all these other scriptures
Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
so, you see that we have already been translated into his kingdom already. we are already in heaven.
How were we translated to his kingdom on earth ?
before he established his kingdom on earth he thought his disciples to pray for the kingdom to come to earth
Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Jesus was the kingdom of God in the midst of his disciples and the Pharisees,The Pharisees were expecting the kingdom to come by the Messiah But they didnt know that Jesus was the kingdom and the Messiah
Matthew 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.(meaning, the Messiah( Jesus himself) has come to you from heaven)
so, Jesus is the kingdom of God( starting from crucifixion ) in all christians here on earth.
we don't need any arbitrary heaven beyond the clouds
Matthew 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
that is what he told his disciples before he was crucified, But after the crucifixion he gave us the keys to heaven here on earth .
i don't know what today christians are still looking for beyond the clouds. it's like they are doubting Jesus
Matthew 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
some of his disciples didn't die until they entered heaven.
so, we are already in heaven
Luke 22:18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
he made this statement when he had communion with his disciples, that was before he was crucified, before heaven was established here on earth. But he did not communion again with them until after he was crucified, after heaven was brought down to earth.
After he was crucified and brought heaven on earth, john 21:13 Recorded that he communion with them the way he used to do likewise before he was crucified
John 21:13 Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.
so, you see, we are already in heaven
nothing like rapture
no end time
God's kingdom here on earth is forever, no end
so, to explain
Act 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee,
why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same
Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven,
shall so come in like manner as ye have
seen him go into heaven .
this is figurative statement which means that Jesus is with his disciples always, that they shouldn't be afraid that he was taken away from them, he will come and be with them at the time of trouble.
Matt 13:26 And then shall they see the Son of
man coming in the clouds with great power
and glory.
Jesus made this statement before he was crucified. He was talking about the time he was going to resurrect
His resurrection is his power and Glory.
The clouds there is a figurative language which means heaven.
He brought heaven down on earth the day he resurrected
the same thing with revelation 1:7 and 1thes 4:7

1Co 15:52 in a moment, in a glance of an eye, at the last trumpet. For a trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed.

1Th 4:13 But I would not have you ignorant, brothers, concerning those who are asleep, that you be not grieved, even as others who have no hope.
1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will also bring with Him all those who have fallen asleep through Jesus.
1Th 4:15 For we say this to you by the Word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not go before those who are asleep.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ shall rise first.
1Th 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so we shall ever be with the Lord.
Also
1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God(This is a figurative language which summary meaning is, we shall die. Death is like calling by God using trumpet that our time to die has come. This happen to everybody on earth ): and the dead in Christ shall rise first( Dead in Christ means those who die as Christians not as Muslims,That those who die as christians will rise (resurrect first, followed by non christians. Then everybody will face judgment..it is appointed once for men to die, after that judgment. After judgment which will last at the period of eye blinking, eye closed. see 1 cor 15:52..Christians will open their eyes without blinking again into life, into the womb of another woman.to be born into this world as a new creature, old life have pass away . 2 Timothy 2:15 says we are saved in child bearing .Then, non christians will not open their eye and blink close forever and go like that, which is the second death in revelation or condemnation ,. Because Jesus came to found Christianity for salvation ):
1Thesalonians 4:17 is another figurative language and this is the meaning
Then we who are alive(everybody will not die at the same time, while some dies others will be alive waiting for their time for their trumpet to call them at their end ) and remain shall be caught up together with them(those who remain and did not die shall caught up or interact with those who was given birth to, who once lived their former life and died and resurrected into this world ) in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air.(this is a figurative language which means heaven on earth. The clouds represent an entity known as God's kingdom on earth which are all christians on earth(Those who believe that Jesus is the coming Messiah which the jews refuses to believe ). All christians represent God's kingdom or heaven if you understand Jesus parables ) And so we shall ever be with the Lord.( meaning, the lord is inside us, our body is his temple, God is not beyond the clouds But in us ).
If Bible was expanciated the way Jesus expanciated his figurative languagues or parables which is the format i use to expanciate this, then no book will contain Bible.
take a look at this
Matthew 13:37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
Matthew 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
You see how Jesus did it?
this is this
this is that
that represent this
this is how i am doing my own.
This is how to get understanding

Thank God you came up with this
it's just that the things to address to Nigerians to bring about change of perception and mindset are so many.
i am trying hard to avoid writing plenty things.
See, Bible is beyond what you see as letters on paper.
You have to read everything and think deep to understand.
every chapter is like argument.
the structure of every argument has premises and conclusion.
sometimes the writter starts from the premises and end at the conclusion and vice versa.
so you must read everything in the chapter and draw out your summary.
you don't just read only 1 cor 15:50,51,52, and conclude that the place is talking about rapture, this is the mistake the ancient Catholic church did when they postulated the rapture doctrine.
today, Catholic church is running away from it
and penecostals are pursuing it blindly.
what was Paul's argument by writing 1 cor 15: 35 to the end, which include verse 50,51 and 52 ?
He was simply proving that there is resurrection of the dead, he never mentioned rapture or anything like people flying to the clouds.
He started by saying, some will ask, How is the dead resurrected and with what body will they come?
1 Corinthians 15:35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
15:36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
if you follow this argument of Paul to the end of the chapter you will find out that Paul is not a madman to start talking about resurrection of the dead only to begin to divert to something else which do not relate to how men are resurrected such as rapture in verse 50,51 and 52.
if you know what sound argument is, talking about rapture at the end will never make a sound argument for someone like Paul who was highly vast and educated in his time.
If you check all Paul's writing starting from Romans, you will see how he puts all his arguments intelligently and constructively.
So, when you read 1 cor 15:35 down, having said our body will change when we resurrect, he talk about different bodies created by God, some are terrestrial (earthly bodies ) others are celestial (in space ).
He said, God gives bodies according to his will (that is when we resurrect ).
so, we will come back with a different body .
Then he now pointed out a mystery in verse 51, still relating to this resurrection thing.
1 Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
meaning, we shall not die (sleep means death )But we shall all resurrect and change body
1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Death is not death, But blinking of the eye (eye closed and open again into life ) at the last trumpet (Death is like calling, using trumpet, that your time has reach to die. In those days trumpet was used to call people either for battle or something,so understand why Paul is using the word trumpet here )
We will be called using trumpet, meaning, we will die.And the dead shall be raised incorruptible (we will not decay with our dead body ) and we shall be changed (our body will be change after we resurrect )
Now, looking at this, is there anything like rapture there? Or people flying to the clouds?
Sometimes, I wonder what Nigerians see when they read Bible.
Please, forget your pastors and church, read your Bible for yourself

lol
it's ok
all i. do is to point out to you
not to get you into religion
it's a free world
Christianity Etc › Re: Please I Am Confused About The Time Of Rapture According To The Bible... by paxonel(m): 8:32pm On Jul 11, 2015
wordoflife2us:
Please i really do not want to be confused with any biblical message to ensure that iam doing the right thing and at the right time, please dear nairalanders, i wish to know from the bibllical account what the Lord said about rapture and when it will occur? the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to redeem His people, is it the time of rapture according the scripture? Another questions is this, will rapture come before the mark of the beast or after the mark of the beast, I need quotes from the Bible please..... We should not be deceived in anyway by the events of our days, be careful and alert, be sober, do not always get drunk, parties and all that, but please try to read your Holy Bible to get light from God to know the hidding wisdom of today's events, you will be able to recognize and know what is going on only when you read the word of God Almighty....
This may be strange to you, but read it carefully and confirm from Scriptures
First of all the Bible never mentioned rapture anywhere.Don't mind Nigerian pastors.
.it is recently discovered that the rapture idea postulated by the ancient catholic church centuries ago and end of the world doctrine contradicts the Gospel of God's kingdom on earth which Jesus asked christians to preach, saying this Gospel of the kingdom must be preached to all nation, then shall the end come.
the end of the world is a figurative language Matthew 24:4 and 24:6:, Because Jesus was abt to be crucified at that time his disciples asked him the question at mount olive.iThe end of the world actually mean the end of other religions apart from Christianity, starting from the crucifixion of jesus.
prophet joel prophesy the time of crucifixion of jesus as the end time which is approximately the time of pentecost 2000 yrs ago. Act 2:16-17
so end time has pass
no rapture,
We are already now in heaven.
Christianity the only accepted religion is the heaven on earth. (Oyedepo will say heaven on earth, he must have seen something in the Bible )
Remember, Christianity was founded by Jesus at resurrection. That means old testament was never Christianity.
God rejected the old covenant and lifted Christianity the new covenant for salvation just like moses lifted the serpent in the wilderness
.Therefore we are saved by our christian faith, not by our works.
Our christian faith(Christianity ) which is THE CHURCH (Jesus says i will build my church which he built at his crucifixion and resurrection ) is Gods kingdom on earth, If you understand jesus parables when he will say the kingdom of God is like unto....)
As a matter of fact the kingdom of God on earth has begun 2000 yrs ago, it has no end, Christianity has no end, Christianity is what we are suppose to preach, it is already the salvation like that.
it follows that this world remain forever and ever until Christianity remain the only religion on earth forever and ever.
a time will come like that, only God knows the billion on years to achieve that.
That is his ultimate goal by sending Jesus on earth, to eliminate death that adam incure as a result of sin and restore the eternal life that Adam and eve lost so that man will live eternally and replenish this world which was the original plan, be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth.
Do you know that we never died as Christians?
We have been living on this earth since the day Jesus resurrected 2000 years ago and we will continue to live forever .
we have been resurecting, we don't know. only that our body was changed and brain formatted each time we resurrect. Read 1 cor 15:35 down to the end
resurrection of the dead here on earth is real.
You might see your love one who died times ago you will never know he or she is the person.
the disciples even find it difficult to recognise Jesus after his resurrection.
Every new born baby in Christ(Christianity ) is a new creature who once lived and get old and died. and old things were pass away
Eve commited the sin but we are saved in child bearing if we continue in Christianity . 2tim 2;15
Death has been defeated by Christ.
that thing we call death is not death, it is sleep
a lot of confused christians say Matthew 24 talk about rapture and end of this world. it is not true.
nations were rising against nations and kingdom against kingdoms, there were lot earthquake at the time jesus was crucified.
prophet Joel prophesied end time or last day as the time of pentecost 2000 yrs ago, where holy spirit descended on the apostles and they speak in other tongues and prophesied and visions etc.Act 2:16-17
