flexybobo: But it is in the scripture already, you can't run away from the truth I have said it, the john 3:3 you quoted was at the time Jesus was yet to be crucified. that means there was no christian faith on earth as at then when Jesus met Nicodemus , the Christian faith we are practicing today is the salvation and it started after Jesus resurrected. so, where do born again belong to? remember, without faith (specifically the christian faith, not Islamic or any other faith on earth ) it is impossible to please God. you must believe in Jesus and not Muhammad, that he is the rewarder of those who deligently seek him |

bxcode: They were called the followers of Jesus bro.... that name Christians just came about to simplified the sentence. Everything you said is correct. Christians sort of gave them a name ie proper noun. And if you check the word Christians was even hardly used despite that naming that happened in Antioch. But people gradually changed from being called the disciples or followers of Jesus commonly to being called Christians, all still the same but with a change in nomenclature. Wow... you know your bible. thanks! And i think what is important is not the naming at Antioch, what is important is what Jesus did at the cross. name or no name it is the same people that were saved that were later called christians at Antioch. so, Christianity remains a religion, the religion Jesus Christ brought |

bxcode: Christianity started in Antioch, present day Turkey. The disciples of Jesus were the first people to be called Christians because they lived like Christ and acted like him while he was on earth and the people didn't see a befitting name to call them but simply called them Christians(Christ-like). Mind you when all these were happening the people already have their Jewish religion and customs with them. So if Christianity is a religion, why didn't the first observers of the disciples look for a name within their religious beliefs to call them? This goes to show that Christianity has nothing to do with religion. It's simply living after a man's ways of life ie Jesus Christ and that man is God himself who has ever been even before man formed his first religion which I don't know about. Christianity is not a religion. Christ is bigger than any religion doctrine of man. Isint That's Awesome? ok, what you are telling is that, those disciples who believed in Christ immediately after Jesus resurrected to the time of the naming at Antioch were never Christians? you are saying that all those who had the holy ghost baptism on pentecost in act chapter 2,were never christians? remember, holy ghost baptism has happened long before the naming at Antioch |

first of all, there is nothing like born again in Christianity or elsewhere in this current day. Jesus 2000yrs ago says i will go and prepare a place, that was before he was crucified. He told Nicodemus 2000yrs ago "except you are born again, you cannot enter the place i will prepare. He told him this before he was crucified. But after the crucifixion he resurrected, that resurrection marks the place he prepared, that place is Christianity inside you. Remember, Jesus is the founder of Christianity, He founded Christianity the day he resurrected, that means, there was nothing like Christianity on earth at the time Jesus met Nicodemus. the question is, what has born again got to do with Christianity? absolutely nothing. So, the purpose of what Jesus meant by born again which is Christianity! has been achieved 2000yrs ago at his resurrection. Therefore, born again sieze to exist at that point |

lampardizik: Most people believe and say that Christianity is a religion. Probably when they were in school or asked to fill a form they opted for the "Christian Religion." But the truth is,Christianity is more than a religion.
Jesus Christ didn't come to introduce another religion into the world. No,not at all! Rather,He came to bring us into a relationship,a divine fellowship with God.
In religion, man believes that there is a God somewhere and does all he can to reach Him. In other words, religion is man working out how to get to God; how to serve, please and relate with Him. However, Christianity is totally different!
Christianity is God Almighty reaching out to man and getting man to make contact with Him. This is why God sent Jesus, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). Therefore, Christianity is Christ Jesus alive in a human person. It is God and man brought together to become one divine creation. It is the life of God functioning in a man. It is the unveiling of the living word of God in a human life!
Christianity is practical and therefore, has to do with your day-to-day experience as a person. When Jesus walked the face of the earth, He was the outworking of God's Word, the manifestation of His glory. He lived the divine life thereby showing us an example to follow. This is the type of life God wants you to live.
The goodnews is, to be a Christian is not hard at all. All you need to do is to be born again. Jesus said, "...Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (John 3:3). That means if you're not born again, you won't be able to participate in the Kingdom of God; that is, to participate in the fellowship and oneness with Him.
When you're born again, you are brought into oneness with Jesus Christ, and once that happens, His strength will become your strength and His ability will become your ability such that when you face any situation that's not consistent with the Word of God, you can take advantage of your oneness with Christ and command a change.
The Bible says "Therefore is any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17).
I believe you would like to have the divine life; the same kind of life with which Jesus walked the earth. It'll make you a blessing to your world.
I invite you to pray this prayer:
" O Lord God, I come to you in the Name of Jesus Christ. Your Word says, "...whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Acts 2:21). I ask Jesus to come into my heart to be the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit and according to Romans 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with thou mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved", I declare that I am saved; I am born-again; I am a child of God; I now have Christ dwelling in me, and greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world! (1 John 4:4). I now walk in the consciousness of my new life in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!"
Congratulations! You are now born again with the very life of God!
You are now a child of God!!
I want to encourage you to share you salvation testimony on www.wikisozo.com
You next step is to get a copy of the Bible and join a church you were right by saying Christianity is Christ Jesus alive in a human person. This also means Christianity is the kind of religion that Christ Jesus alive in a human person, and the only way that is possible is to BELIEVE. the key word that makes any religion a religion is TO BELIEVE IN SOMETHING. christians believe in Jesus that automatically makes Christianity a religion. don't have problem with the word religion, it is not a bad word. other names for the christian religion or christianity according to the bible are FAITH, GOD'S KINGDOM, THE CHURCH, ETERNAL LIFE ON EARTH etc. all these refers to people (adherents of Christianity ) who are the saved people, people who have Jesus living in them as a religion |

But it should also be used for healing, not only for deliverance. i have seen Olukoya healing anybody before, imagine. Also, the greatest signs and wonders are not miracles and healing. The greatest signs and wonders is knowledge and understanding. Typical African fantacy was to possess spiritual powers, but when British colonial masters invaded Africa with guns africans then discovered that spiritual powers do not exist, africans were conquered. That is the power of knowledge and understanding. Today, Africans are still running after spiritual powers and signs and wonders to solve their problems in churches, but their universities are rated sub standard. how will their problems be solved like that? |

contrary to the belief of most christians of fake pastors (note: all pastors in Nigeria no matter the class, are fake, money seekers in the face of poverty ) that if you believe and you still commit sin then you are not saved, salvation is simply a change of religion. (that is, when you are converted into Christianity ). Right from that point, you are automatically filled with the holy spirit to have eternal life here on earth and not to be empowered to become successful in life. success is for everybody who work hard and failure is for the lazy, no matter your religion. So, don't tell me i went to church my pastor prayed for me that's why i became successful. That is a big lie. You were successful because you worked hard, that's all. But when we die, those of us who believe will resurrect and live again here on earth. That is the target of salvation, not to make money. |

Doing the right things they should do, but we keep reminding not only Christians but all humans that the enemy of Our Lord Jesus Christ and man "satan" is by the corner deceiving people not to beleive the truth or light from the Word of God, what is your religion please, let me know the basics of your arguement, the bible says that not even one is righteous in the eyes of God, so why should one religion be my target to preach? Since you already know the meaning of convertion, and you know that to convert a non christian is the altimate way of getting souls back to the creator, why not start from where i have stopped because i do not undertsand that word covert.... My preaching is not zero because you have heard it and it will stand on account on you on the judgement day.. Now join the preaching of the word of God, emulate Paul..... I want to let you know that the devil is everywhere attacking Christ Jesus, His words and followers, Write the word JESUS CHRIST IN BLOCK LETTERS, Post it to view that only the name JESUS will automatically return to small letters, while other words will remain in block letters, why is it so, who is responsible to that? do you take it for granted? Or is there any purpose for that? agents of darkness are everywhere working against God and attacking hHis people, the enemy is making life seems pleasant that people should be enjoying and pay less attention to God or His Words.... We are aware of all this conspiracies against the word of God, His Holy Spirit is our leader and directs us what we do yes, i was away from nairaland. I'm back. my God, what is this? lol.. this is ridiculous, you make me laugh. which village are you from? anyway, I'm not here to ridicule you. But you are not trying one bit. i guess you are a pastor? it's rather unfortunate, i mean, how are your church members coping with you? i never told you i am not a Christian. by using the phrase "you Christians " do not exclude me from the christian faith. so, may be you really need to go and upgrade your ability to judge objectively or you will never understand the Bible. understanding has nothing to do with whether you are christian or not it all depend on your level of thinking perhaps your education. whether you understand or not it's for you, not me. now take a look at this Jesus statements Luke 12:57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?(ignorance is not excuse to judge rightly ) Luke 12:58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison. people like you will easily be deceived in court of law and thrown unto prison because you refuse to learn. And when that happen you will continue to blame the devil that the devil is attacking you meanwhile it is your ignorance, not the devil. And you know what? Jesus will also deny you . please, don't preach again. go and learn first, for the sake of Christianity and JESUS CHRIST |

Be wise the number 666 has been appearing secretly on the products we use today but people could not decode it now, Come to God and find everlasting peace....God is love! His words are TRUE! you christians easily misunderstand people when they say something. i am not against you preaching, i am even trying to help your preaching. all I'm saying is, it is better to preach to convert non christians into christianity than to preach to christians who have already been converted(PLEASE CHECK THE MEANING OF, TO CONVERT IN DICTIONARY ). let me ask you this question, in all the preaching you have been preaching have you converted one Muslim? just be sincere you see, that is the target of preaching. Anything less than that is zero. i noticed that souls are not even won by mere preaching, most souls are won by the way you live your life Paul was not a Christian, he was converted into Christianity by the holy spirit on the way to Damascus.. when he started preaching all this target was to convert non christians into Christianity, he went to the synagogue of the jews (Judaism ) to convert them. that's why he says in Romans 10:1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel ( Judaism ) is, that they might be saved. Israel had the old covenant which is Judaism and they needed to be converted to Christianity( new covenant ) in order for them to be saved. so, it's all about change of religion. i know you didn't see it like that before, that's why i am showing you now. it will help you to build your priority and make your target when preaching |

wordoflife2us: It is very simple to be saved and takes only a minute to explain. Please let me show you how you can be save through the Bible, God's Word...
Man is a Sinner in the Eyes of a Holy God.
Isaiah 53:6, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
Romans 3:19, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.”
John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Romans 3:10, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”
Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
There is a Price For Our Sin―Burning in Hell Forever.
Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 5:12, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”
2nd Thessalonians 1:8, “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Revelation 20:15, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Revelation 21:8, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Jesus paid that price by dying on the cross and shedding His blood; Christ was buried and bodily rose again the third day!
Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
1st Timothy 1:15, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”
1st Peter 1:18-19, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ...”
1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” This is the Gospel.
By faith in Jesus Christ ALONE we are immediately saved.
Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”
John 11:25, “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”
John 6:28-29, “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”
Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
John 6:40, “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”
Mark 1:15, “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
Acts 26:18, “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”
Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
1st Corinthians 3:11, "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”
Salvation is NOT found in a religion mostly but through our faith in the LORD Jesus CHRIST!
HERE IS HOW YOU CALL UPON THE LORD
Do you admit that you are a GUILTY sinner, under the condemnation of God's LAW, deserving of Hellfire?
Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God (God in the flesh) who died upon the cross, sacrificing His precious blood to pay for your sins? Do you believe that Jesus was buried and bodily resurrected three days later?
That is the good news of the Gospel... Jesus DIED ON THE CROSS, He was BURIED and He is RISEN!
If you'd like to be saved, simply come to God by faith as a guilty sinner, and BELIEVE upon the Lord Jesus Christ. You must know that you are a sinner. No man ever got saved who didn't know that he is a sinner. Repentance is that thing when you come before God and see yourself as you are, and see Him as he is, and say with Isaiah “Woe is me, for I am unclean!” Repentance is simply a change of mind, where you admit that you are a woeful sinner totally incapable of saving yourself. Thus, you believe the Gospel (Good News) of the Lord Jesus Christ for you to be saved.
Perhaps you'd feel comfortable praying a sinner's prayer as did the publican in Luke 18:13... “And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto Heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.” It doesn't matter exactly what you pray, because you're saved by BELIEVING, not by praying. But if you'd like to pray as an expression of your faith, you could pray something like this. ...
Dear Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner deserving of your anger. I am guilty for breaking your holy commandments. I believe that you died on the cross to pay for my sins, and resurrected after three days. Please forgive me of my sins and save me. I now believe in you, Thank you for hearing and saving me. Amen.
Just as you were born physically to your parents, so you were born spiritually into the family of God when you received Jesus! John 1:12-13, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
if you have never seen salvation as a thing of change ,of religion.(to convert non christians eg. Muslims, into Christianity ), then you have not preached at all, no target. you will find yourself quoting 100 scriptures without understanding one for the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith. that is, from religion to religion. from any other religion to Christianity. Because Christianity is the way the truth and the life |

Just look at it this way you know, Judaism is the religion of it's own (old testament ) Christianity is another religion of it own (new testament ) Now, between Judaism and Christianity was another religion which john the baptism founded, that religion is not Christianity. infact, the adherents of that religion which were disciples of John the Baptist were baptised into Christianity by Paul, thereby terminating that religion. Today, there is no religion called the religion of John the Baptist . Acts 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. (adherents of John's religion ) Act 19:5 When they (adherents of John's religion) heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.(baptised into Christianity which is God's kingdom or heaven ). so, basically. baptism is all about change of religion and not just immension in water |

Proximo73: religion was worth giving attention to during old testament days, before Jesus was crucified? exactly, that's why Jesus says the least person in Christianity is greater than old testament prophets Matthew 11:11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women (prophets of Judaism, example, Elijah ) there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven (Christianity ) is greater than he. |

denisbid: you are on point Op Matthew 25:31.says When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: he made this statement before he was crucified. But after his resurrection he came with his glory, the resurrection itself is his glory, the gate of heaven. he asked his disciples to strive to enter the gate at this point, that is, they should strive to hold on their believe in him against all odds until the point of his resurrection which is the point or gate of heaven. you have a very good insight of the scriptures, you can see that religion is absolutely nothing and do no deserve the attention that people are giving it |

we are not waiting to go to heaven anymore. Rather, we are already in heaven. Before Jesus crucifixion he says, seek ye first God's kingdom. But after his resurrection, he brought down his kingdom on earth. so God's kingdom is not at hand anymore, God's kingdom is now here with us. God's kingdom is Jesus Christ inside us which is the holy spirit. so, no end time no rapture. God's kingdom on earth has no end. If you understand this truth, then religion is nothing to bother about again. just live your life and be free |
