If Mimiko is a thief for the reason you have written, then Tinubu/Fashola are hardened criminals. My own mum retired in 2005 and she has not received her gratuity. It was only in May that she started receiving her pension.

All the ladies:

I really want your sincere opinions on this. Is it so easy to make such overtures to you without resistance?

@OP

IMO, this sounds really sheepish to me. It was like she willingly gave it(as a mark of appreciation) and felt remorseful later. More so, a guy who got a free kiss on a first date will always want more. It has started with a kiss, other things are bound to follow. You know the saying "a girl kissed is half-won", especially when the guy is a very good kisser. Lol

If you really love her, call her and get to know the whole details like if they exchanged contacts and all those things. Don't be rash, just be calm and glean all the facts you need. Should you desire to continue after all that, I wish you all the best.

I sincerely love both guys- Mimiko and Akeredolu. I really don't like those who think whoever doesn't support Tinubu is not a progressive.

I don taya for dat yeye argument.

Let the people of Ondo decide who they want!

If the regional integration is truly all about progess and development and not extending the Emperor's sphere of influence, the last one year should have been enough to start something meaningful at least with the contiguous states- Lagos, Ogun, Oyo.

Hmmm...another classic from Prof. Pius Adesanmmi!

GEJ should know that those around him do not mean well for him. He must remember that those clowns alone did not vote for him but the generality of the people did.

He should consider what the ordinary folks who idolised and believed him when he told us 'I had no shoes' when campaigning would think of his (in)actions.

It is so sad to see what Lagos State has become. We are now so incompetent that indigenes of Ogun, Osun, Ekiti and what have you can now decide our governor for us.

Please bear in mind that Tinubu will not live forever and Lagos state has five divisions.

PoliticsRe: Sanusi Indicted Of Fraud & Forgery Over Bank Nationalization by pcicero(m): 12:49am On Jul 20, 2012
@Ballabriggs

I agree with the fact that entrenching corporate governance and other associated regulations should be the focus of the legislators. But I have been around for some time now to know that in Nigeria, there is no smoke without fire. The whole exercise might also be due to the fact that some of the legislators have vested interests.

But as Dougvilla suggested, SLS should have considered other options rather than the method it employed which was shrouded in secrecy.

If the government had bailed out the banks and hence nationalised, was the government able to recoup its investment given that the banks were auctioned at salvage values?

Will the CBN be humble enough to admit that the people it appointed to manage the affairs of the banks failed to achieve the mandate given to them?

However, given the fact that CBN is a public institution we must know how those banks were sold.

I also don't agree with those saying that the legislators should not tamper with the CBN's autonomy. Some levels of independence yes, but outright autonomy NO.

I felt it was condescending when the CBN governor was telling the legislators that it could not present its budget to the NASS. Where does the CBN derive its power from? if Soludo had hoodwinked OBJ into that gaffe, I think now is the time to correct it.

How can CBN, NNPC etc. be considered untouchables? There is so much corruption going on in these places because they are beyond reproach. It is not about individuals, but the institutions must be accountable.

Corruption is a cankerworm that has eaten deep into every aspect of governance,we cannot afford such luxuries. I don't think the head of the Federal Reserve has such powers.

cowgurl: All those false hopes and covering up, what for? I laugh in deceit.
Then when she starts to fall for you (which happens in most cases), you begin to wonder what you did wrong.
It's best you listen to them empathically (when they do come pouring their hearts out) and then tell him/her to go sort themselves out with their partner without any form of subjectivity cos you might be sending the wrong signals.
Please tell him. Perhaps he has never been caught in the intricate web of emotions before.
I don't even want to be close to my friends' partners.

It doesn't interest me. I have my own issues to contend with. Can't afford to dabble into people's relationships.

RomanceRe: Making Your Partner's Friends Your Friend(s). by pcicero(m): 5:41pm On Jul 19, 2012
I really don't see any point in it. I choose my own friends and she chooses hers. I don't think I must be close to my partner's friends out of sympathy for her feelings. Neither would I force her to be close to my friends.

I believe I should be her best friend and no one else should matter, not my friends, not her friends!

It is enough that we are two different people trying to make things work. We should not complicate issues.

I'm not so sure that Tinubu will allow that. He will pick a Vulcanizer ahead of you and some e-diots will tell you that you if you don't belong to ACN, you are not an Omoluabi (a proper Yoruba person).

The fool representing Epe II in LSHA is barely literate. The other buffon in the House of Rep has never spoken a word while the Senator representing Lagos East- Gbenga Ashafa was compensated for being Tinubu's accomplice in their land-grabbing scheme.

They went for a course on how to make their husbands deliver as legislators. Don't you all know that the wives are the closest people to their husbands?

Next, housemaids will be going to South Africa for a course on how to assist the 'madams' in carrying out their matrimonial duties.

They are all in a bid to enhance legislative performance!

It is a step in the right direction.

Come here and be forming rubbish.[/quote]MzDarkSkin,
Do they observe 'Rag Day' in Jamaica too? I thought it's a Naija thingy?

@Immanuelle
I'm not condemning it entirely but I think it's being proliferated to the extent that non-students even do it. More so, I think it should be done on a particular day and not almost everyday as is the case. That will give it some level of credibility.

However, some schools, like OAU that I attended, don't do it.
Nairaland GeneralRe: What Do You Think Of RAG Days In Universities? by pcicero(m): 6:02pm On Jul 18, 2012
Rag Day? I have seen Students begging in those days in Lagos. But while at OAU, there was nothing like that.

I went to visit friends in OSCOTECH, Esa Oke and they were doing it.
I went back to Ife and asked the SUG president why OAU wasn't doing it. He called it the 'glorification of poverty' and that they'll rather fight against 'imperialist tendencies'.

OAU, as far as I know still doesn't do it. So whenever I see students begin on 'rag day', I don't feel inclined to part with my money.

Emeka Ngige too is very close to Tinubu being Chris Ngige's brother. How independent can he be?
