3-0 Ajibade!! |
sanpipita:Oparanozie’s goal makes us believe ![]() |
Finally, an attempt on target from Ebi |
Ghana will be eliminated if they fail to beat Cameroon, and Mali beat Algeria |
EgunMogaji:The truly hilarious and annoying ones are those who beg on... Instagram! Someone who can apparently have enough data to browse through Instagram (for hours) would begging for money to "feed" him/herself |
Although the Super Falcons performed horribly on Sunday, the team would have to realize that a WC place is at stake and buckle up in the 2 remaining group games. In fact, the SF could end up winning the whole event. Yes, I've seen this movie before. At the 2001 U-17 WC, Nigeria beat France 2-1 in their opening group match. The Golden Eaglets thoroughly outplayed the French team, and I believe the French team only had one attempt on target. But when both teams met in the final, the French handed our boys a 3-0 thrashing, and completely dominated that game as well. Likewise, the USA women's team lost 0-2 to Norway in their opening game at the 2008 Olympics. But guess what, the same Team USA, recovered from their poor start and went on to win the gold medal. So, I'v not lost all hope in this team. However, the atrocious long-ball tactic has to give way to patient build-ups from the back and/or the midfield. As someone said earlier, hoofing the ball is not in the DNA of Nigerian national teams. Oshoala and Ordega would perform better if fed through balls from the midfield. |
Abbeybailey:De Santis pulled off a near miracle considering that he was behind in most polls prior to the election. Congrats to him, all the same. I foresee the likes of Gillum and Stacey Abrams being useful, inspirational surrogates for the Dem nominee in 2020. |
itchie:Thanks for your kind words ![]() |
We are now in the area of fake AGs ![]()

Congrats to the SE on qualifying for the AFCON. But this match shows that VAR is needed at the AFCON, no doubt about it. Had it been that the SE needed to win this game, those Assistant Referees would have been in deep trouble. |
The attendance at that 90,000-seater stadium isn’t more than 10,000 ![]() |
raumdeuter: Germany are relegated |
Germany are relegated to League B in Europe ![]() |
armyofone:She hasn't yet said she is stepping down. NP is definitely running for Speaker again. But she has indicated that she would be in the position for a long time. I interpret that as her only serving till 2020, then stepping down for another person to take over. |
Schemerkhiz:Damn I never knew she was over 5’10”! She’s really tall, and should be the starting keeper. Her Woman of the match performances in 3 of the 4 matches at the last U-20 tournament should be a powerful argument for her. But..is she really 16 ![]() |
timbros:The commentator in the Chelsea v Man Utd game in the 05/06 season said the same thing when Cole scored the 2nd Chelsea goal. |
Fun fact: Susanna Dinnage will be the first woman to head a men’s professional sports league in either England or the United States. |
The Senate count is now: 51 Republicans 47 Democrats (including the 2 independents - Angus King, and Bernie Sanders). Two seats are yet to be called. |
Abbeybailey:Wow That’s huge! She ran a spirited campaign, and would be one of two openly LGBT Senators in the new Senate. The other is Senator Tammy Baldwin. |
Abbeybailey:Gillum and Nelson may not win, but boy did they make Florida super competitive |
My own take is that we don’t need any slow players in midfield cos the likes of SA, USA or France would rip us apart in the world cup |
This Whitaker of a guy is literally clueless ![]() |
FIFA, in order to further promote the women's game, should replace the Confederations cup with a FIFA Women's confederations cup tournament. It could be a 12-16 team event that would be held in odd-numbered years immediately preceding the senior men's world cup. |
Daejoyoung:Ten would be an awkward format. I'd go with a 12-team format, comprising three groups of four teams. The top two teams in each group, and the 2 best third-placed teams across the groups would then move on to the quarter finals. |
CNN may file a lawsuit against the White House for taking away Acosta's press pass. I see a potential suit on the basis of a First Amendment violation. |
CAF has fallen hands again. Jeez!! Why would they unjustly throw Kenya away, and replace them with the Equatorial Guinea cheats? I just hope the CAS would grant the Kenyan FA some sort of ex-parte hearing on the matter because the tournament is only 9 days away. |
Abbeybailey:It would be so hilarious watching Trump trying to hide his stuff from someone he described as “low IQ” ![]() |
A40:It could be because voters in those states trusted Trump to bring back the lost jobs and grow the economy. But they were disgusted to see that 83% of the gains of the Republican tax-cut law benefited the top 1% of income earners. |
Stacey Abrams still has the faintest of hopes in forcing a recount if the remaining uncounted ballots (in the big metro areas) keep Brian Kemp under 50%. But it baffles me that the person in charge of an election is also a contestant. Just like an INEC REC also being a governorship contestant in Nigeria. It’s the most blatant conflict interest I’ve ever seen in politics. |
Mklanceee:Nah The House doesn’t need the Senate’s ‘permission’ to release any findings. For instance, the House leadership could ask Mueller and the DOJ to submit his report to them. Moreover, a Democratic House means that there will be no funding of Trump’s borderwall, because both the House and Senate have to concur before any budgetary item is passed by Congress. |
The Democratic House will launch a tsunami of investigations on the Trump administration, beginning from January. So, I’ll advice Trump to hire more lawyers in the White House Counsel’s office to handle the expected requests of docs from the Democrats |
