Yes, he could get tired of being married to her. But some cougar/younger guy celebrity marriages have lasted for ages. For instance Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade are still married despite her being 10 years older than him, and they got married when he was (and still) is earning millions of $$ from his NBA career.

Former Ghana international Nii Odartey, has won his lawsuit in which his wife was seeking to gain 50% of all his wealth.

An Accra High Court ruled on Wednesday ruled that, Gloria Appiah, his former wife, committed ‘adultery’ when she conceived three children out of wedlock and subsequently quashed her motion to be awarded half of the property of the former footballer.

Justice Cecilia Don-Chebe Agbevey, who presided over the matter, also ordered the estranged wife to vacate the footballer’s plush 7-bedroom apartment in East Legon within 30 days.

The person you quoted is partially right. In community property jurisdictions, both parties have joint ownership of property acquired during the marriage, regardless of whether it's in joint title or in the name of only one of the parties.

In Oghoyone v. Oghoyone (2010), the Court of Appeal essentially held that a respondent has joint interest in property belonging to both parties.
So, if any of the property has joint title i.e. real property such as houses or commercial buildings, the trial court may indeed award half of the property to the wife. Meaning that if they jointly owned, say, two homes, one of the homes could be awarded to the wife by the judge.

If your friend lives in Nigeria, he has solid grounds for seeking divorce because his wife definitely committed adultery by having a child for another man; and your friend can show that he finds it intolerable to live together with his estranged wife.

With regard to division of property, it is totally up to the discretion of the judge. But I suspect that the judge won't divide the property equally. Nigeria is more of an "equity" jurisdiction, and I'm not sure if Nigerian family laws have provision for spousal support.

If he were in a "community property" jurisdiction, there would be an 80% chance that the property would be divided equally because community property jurisdictions ascribes joint ownership of all property acquired during a marriage.

I'd advise your friend to contact a lawyer who specializes in family law to give him the proper and necessary advice.
