LoveMachine: If the north was serious about development she would be someone being presented as potential gubernatorial or presidential candidate. Her top notch pedigree is obvious. She is a certified presidential material. The APC would be smart to present her as either their candidate or Osinbajo's rumming mate in 2019. |

The dude committed armed robbery because he was armed with a weapon, and the crime carries an automatic death sentence.
I believe the law is too harsh. The National Assembly should amend the law to punish armed robbery (if not death occurred) with a prison term of between 5-7 years. |

chrisooblog: hmmm i don't know N80 billion when we have such a huge infrastructure deficit in the country? but anyways as long as govt won't be paying the lion share it would be a cool venture. i'm not a fan of govt using public money for hosting sport competitions should purely be private sector driven. even advanced western nations especially the ones bidding for olympic games find it hard to cough out that kind of money before we mention most african countries (including us) who haven't gotten the basics of health care, education and physical infrastructure right. Yes. The key thing is to get the private sector to foot a majority of the bill. I'd also like VAR to be used at the expanded tournament |

Joebie: Is this based on the facilities we have on ground or? Its partly based on existing facilities. The Lagos venue could be a new football-specific stadium (50k-60k capacity) to be built on the existing site of the main bowl of the Lagos National stadium, which may have to be demolished. The new stadium could be jointly built by LASG and a consortium of companies. |

If Nigeria were to bid and awarded the hosting rights for a future AFCON, my preferred host cities would be: Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Uyo, Jos, Warri/Asaba.
The round of 16 would be held in all stadia
Quarter final games in Uyo, Lagos, Jos, Abuja
Semis in Lagos and Abuja
Third-place game in Uyo, the final in Lagos. |

chrisooblog: i support increasing the number of teams to 24 would be more interesting to watch. alot of african teams have improved so the competition would be intense you won't see too many scorelines showing the big countries hammering the smaller ones.
june/july date would be ideal for our players but the weather of most african countries during that period would be a huge problem. how many countries can afford to renovate existing stadiums, not to talk of building new ones or constructing retractable roofs? or maybe fixing the competition to late july to early august considering that the AFCON wont be played during a world cup year so the european season won't start until mid to late august and by then the rains should have subsided.
the four year gap is ok. it's just a matter of tweaking our qualifying schedule to accommodate more more matches especially for smaller teams.
CHAN should be rebranded into an U23 tournament I'm okay with June/July if CAF, multinational companies that operate in the host nation(s) and the host nation(s) pony up the cash for the retrofit of the stadia. Retrofitting 6-8 stadiums with retractable roofs would cost no less than N80 billion. That's s lot of money, but it will create 1000s of temporary jobs. |

Joebie: And also lets copy CONMEBOL's World Cup qualifying format, where the finalists all play each other in a league format. That would entail the Super eagles playing 104 qualifying matches in a 3-year window because there are 54 CAF member nations that are also FIFA members. The players will suffer from extreme fatigue, bearing in mind that they also play for their clubs; so it will be logistically impossible to implement such a qualifying schedule. The CONMEBOL format works because there are only 10 countries in the confederation. Thus, each team only gets to play 18 WCQ matches over a three-year period. |

Icon4s: June/July is good idea to me.
However, If the tournament is to be hosted in the tropical regions then the stadiums must have covers or excellent drainage facilities because of the heavy rains experienced at this time of the year. This also means increased cost of construction of facilities.
On the issue of 24 teams CAF may need to re-introduce co-hosting because not so many African countries can produce up to 6 standard stadiums especially as the tournament is being hosted every 2 years and also the increased cost of facilities construction as mentioned above. You're spot on in your analysis. The move to June/July would force the hosting nation(s), especially those in West and Cebtral Africa, to spend hundreds of millions of $$ to retrofit their stadia with retractable roofs. Moreover, as you said, we will most likely have many future AFCONs being co-hosted due to th increased facilities requirements. But countries like Nigeria, SA, Morocco or Egypt can easily provide 6-8 stadia that would be required for the tournament. |

FrankNetter: Sugar ants
It's when you become successful (or enter yankee and upload some pictures on social media) you'll realize why some ladies are tagged "sugar ants".
Don't get me wrong, some people are indeed honorable , but honestly, this has to be said. Some nigerian ladies have no shame, like I said in my previous post, ladies in nigeria find it hard to approach a guy first, I guess I was wrong. Some of them even go as far as sending you nudes in a bid to start up conversation. I'm thinking of deleting my Facebook account, but no, I won't let them bully me with their nude pictures.
Even the ones that were forming virgin when I was in nigeria, have started promising me pvssy, that I should come back to nigeria to see them. Each time they ask "when are you coming back?" My reply is "to do what?" so because you promised me pvssy, I should enter plane and start flying back to nigeria?
Una dey find who una go use pregnancy and juju to tie down. God forbid bad thing. Are you serious?!! You've barely settled over here, and they are sending you nudes to the extent that your inbox is overflowing with them (some guy's dream of this to happen to them though ) Truly, success has many friends. But some of our ladies should get some sense of dignity. It's not too much to ask of them. Almost the same thing happened to a friend of mine. She runs a small-scale NGO that caters for indigent kids and some adults. One day she announced on Facebook that a Lebanese fb friend of hers decided to financially contribute to her efforts. Guess what happened next? Many of her friends started send him friend requests; some even had the audacity to ask him to send money to them due to one 'need' or the other. I just shook my head. It's really disgraceful, my brother. |

raumdeuter: What was Obamas excuse for going into Libya and Syria before worrying about what Republicans told Obama to do.
Trump isnt for removal of Assad, Trumps position is if we remove Assad, who will we put in? Are you sure the Assad you are removing isnt better than ISIS thats waiting on the wings to take over?
So once again whats Obamas excuse for Libya and Syria That was the single biggest strategic blunder committed by the Bush administration in Iraq, and by Obama in Libya. Both Saddam and Ghadaffi weren't angels, but these guys held their countries together. In fact, groups like Al Qaeda or ISIS would never have dreamed of setting up bases on those countries because it would be akin to fighting a combat jet fighter with a pistol - the dictators would have easily prevailed over the terror groups. Despite his faults, I support Trump's decision not to remove Assad from power. If the people of Syria want a Jeffersonian style of democracy, they'd better rise up and fight for it themselves. |

I'll also add that:
- The Murtala Mohammed International Airport is presently the only one in Nigeria to have more than one runway
- No airport in Nigeria can accommodate the A380
- In 2011, Nigeria achieved total radar coverage of her airspace for the first time ever. The Total Radar Coverage of Nigeria (TRACON) project was originally begun by the Obasanjo administration in 2003.
- London Gatwick airport is the busiest single-runway commercial airport in the world. The second busiest is the San Diego International airport.
- With a flight time of over 7 hours, the flight time between New York's JFK airport and Honolulu airport (in Hawaii, USA) is amongst the longest domestic flights in the world. |
