FamilyRe: Is Ur Wife Important Than Ur Children? by pendo89(f): 10:20am On Oct 12, 2011
Important is something that adds value to me. How do you look at your wife? you and her are one not 2 parties.
The kids are second parties and are an extension of you so yeah they are also very important.
In short this is wrong tormenting question unless you are asked, 'if you had only one option, who would you save btwn your wife and kids?'

PENDO WHAT YOU DO NOT KNOW IS THAT RAILA DID NOT ALLOW THE DYNASTY TO CONTINUE. WHAT YOU ARE PROUD OF CAME DIRECTLY AS A RESULT OF KIBAKI POWER MINIMIZED, TO A POINT WHERE KIBAKI AND RAILA HAD TO AGREE ON HOW THE MONEY WOULD BE SPENT. HOW THE COUNTRY WOULD BE RUN.

HOW MANY WERE IN THE NO CAMP ON THE CONSTITUTION? majority OF THOSE WHO BENEFITED IN THE KENYATTA TO KIBAKI DYNASTY.

Wewe unaonekana unayumbayumba, huna msimamo wowote.  grin

Now siyumbiyumbi kwa maana mimi sio kalonzo ok?

That is why I love the coalition goverment.I told you it keeps everybody on check. The reason I love the new constitution as well. Did you participate in the referendum? did you vote for the new constitution? if you did not close this thread.

Until I see kenya raising the stands of the poor as per inflation level. we need change, like the change in other parts of the western world.

Yes and what are you doing about the change you want to see? Its not gonna come through nl for sure.Get the message to kenyans and am sure you know where to find them.Back in Kenya. Go there and see democracy.I told you people air their views like nobodys biz.Thats the freedom I love that never used to be there.

Did he cut his wage every year to give you Ksh8,000 if you are a minimum wage earner?   NO. FROM KENYATTA TO KIBAKI, NOT WITHSTANDING ALL OTHER GOOD THINGS THEY MAY HAVE DONE, THEY HAVE BEEN TRIBAL IN THEIR LEADERSHIP. GREEDY, GIVING THEMSELVES FAT PENSIONS WHILE DENYING THEIR POOR MAJORITY LITTLE OR NO PENSIONABLE WAGES.

Do you know this? Respond to the above.

Know what? lol  you are funny. No human will ever be satisfied.I am not and even if I earn $ 1m per month I will still complain. Now am not fighting you on this no.
Have you heard of a guy called ATWOLI? I keep mentioning him here all the time. Thing is ,hes the warrior of workers.Hes in charge of labour unions. Hes the only guy with guts to tell kibaki/Raila his mind without blinking. And yeah they hear him. Please search him out and he will give you updates of his fights for salary increases. Hes tried.
Aluta continua.

I DO NOT OPPOSE YOUR DESIRE NOT TO LOCKED IN A TRIBE, YOU LOVE KENYA, AND THE KENYAN CONSTITUTION WHICH ACKNOWLEDGES SWAHILI AND ENGLISH AS THE NATIONAL LANGUAGES. I LOVE MARTHA KARUA TOO, BUT YOU KNOW SHE CANNOT DO IT ALONE.
Correct

THIS IS WHY YOU MAY WANT TO LOOK TO RAILA WHO IS AMONG THE MANY MINORITY WHO HAVE BEEN SIDELINED AS MINORITY GROUPS, WOMEN, AND THE POOR. IF WE HAVE TO CHANGE KENYA, RAILA AND KARUA SHOULD NOT SEEK THE PRESIDENCY, THEY SHOULD LAY OUT POLICICIES, DIFFERENT FROM THE G7

Wrong! Raila is not from the minority! what are you talking about? Luos are not minority. They are top 5 as far as population is concerned. Show me minority and I will show you Ogiek.( ever heard of them? they used to occupy parts of mau forest but were evicted to stop destruction of the mau).Where will you place the samburu, boranas, taitas, digos etc?
And why shouldnt Raila and Karua contest for presidency? Let them do so,let each lay down their policies and let the best man/woman win.
I told you there are 17 presidential hopefuls so fare. The registered ones. I think you should join the bandwagon Who knows you may have my vote. cool

THIS IS NOT ANY QUOTATION FROM ME. i NEVER MENTIONED MOI EXCEPT IN QUOTING YOU.

It seems you have issues with people who rule. I have no issues with the office. governance.Corruption has been rampant since independence. EVERY KENYAN KNOWS THIS. KENYANS HAVE HARD NO WAGE PARITY FOR MINIMUM WAGES, PROFESSIONAL WAGES ETC  This is what I want you to lift and express your position on this very five lines above. WHAT IS YOUR POSITION

Same here.I don't dispute that. What I am saying is that there's progress. You are talking as though kenyans are where they were during moi's time.
Even if the wages increases have gone up by 5% only at least they went up. Unfortunately the cost of living keeps going up as well.
A good leader, the new constitution a good judiciary, proper security, healthcare, education and we can say we are somewhere.
So I care less about the leader.Question is can the leader deliver? If he can who cares about where he hails from?

I AM VERY PLEASED TO NOTE HOW SUPPORTIVE TO THE DYNASTY YOU APPEAR. HOW MUCH MONEY TO THEY PAY YOU TO SPREAD SUCH PROPAGANDA?
1. I do not work for the goverment.Infact my employer is a foreign investor. My responsibility is to convince any foreigner why they should invest in Africa. I dont criticise too much cz the foreign media feeds on that.I always try to highlight the positives aspects more because the foreigner has his own country. This Africa is ours we either tear it down or build it. I am not those who like talking ill of Africa from the comfort of foreign countries all the time and tearing down any little show of progress. It doesn't help at all because it creates fear and scares investors. Africa loves bad news.We love talking about poverty, sickness, joblessness but do nothing. We attend conferences, seminars write very good articles, reports, force people to watch sauti ya hague etc but we do not move.We move with our mouths not heads, legs and hands. Its a very tired cycle. Walk the talk. fullstop

"Secondly, none of those politicians in power  are willing to fight to raise wages except their own wages every year.
THUS IT SEEMS YOU MUST BE A DIRECT BENEFICIARY OF THE PAST REGIMES. correct?

Yes the only benefit I got was from drinking maziwa ya nyayo. That milk kept school kids healthy.  I was not around during kenyattas era so the best comparison I can do is kibaki/raila and moi. And this current coalition is better than the past which was full of dictator ship, when only one tribe ruled the nation.
Did you drink maziwa ya nyayo? grin

Foreign AffairsMauritius The Best Governed Country In Africa Again by pendo89(op): 9:45pm On Oct 11, 2011
Mauritius has again, for the fifth year in a row, finished on top of the Ibrahim Index of African Governance.

http://www.howwemadeitinafrica.com/mauritius-the-best-governed-country-in-africa-again/12808/

http://www.newsfromafrica.org/newsfromafrica/articles/art_12000.html

The Index, compiled by the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, supports good governance and leadership in Africa. The four categories of governance as assessed by the Index are: Safety & Rule of Law, Participation & Human Rights, Sustainable Economic Opportunity and Human Development.

From a total of 53 countries (Sudan was treated as a single country), Mauritius had the highest overall score. Somalia features at the bottom of the rankings. Southern Africa had the highest regional average, while Central Africa had the lowest.

Both Liberia and Sierra Leone showed a marked improvement in governance, whereas Madagascar registered a significant decline.

Mo Ibrahim said that although he is delighted about Africa’s economic growth, he is concerned about the stagnation, and in many cases the reversal, in the rule of law and citizens’ rights. “If economic progress is not translated into better quality of life and citizens’ rights, we will witness more Tahrir Squares in Africa.”

This year’s Ibrahim Prize was awarded to former Cape Verde President Pedro Verona Pires. The prize is awarded to a democratically elected former African head of  state who has served their term in office within the limits set by the country’s constitution, has left office in the last three years, and has demonstrated excellence in office. The winner receives US$5 million over 10 years and $200,000 annually for life thereafter. The prize has not been awarded for two years, apparently because of no suitable candidates.

But seriously Kenya is the way it is now cz of better governance.Multipartism brought in democracy and with the freedom of expression things started moving. Investors gained confidence and economy improved.
Not yet there but its far much better. Cant really complain. S. sudan is another giant awakening silently. Give them few years and you will see the impact. You know almost half of S.Sudan biz are kenyan owned because they had nothing to start with. They are rising slowly.

I am currently in kenya, being here for over a month, will be spending two months here. I have been travelling. Was at Nairobi, Mombasa, Ukunda, Malindi, Mtwapa, Voi, Kakamega, Bungoma, Kisimu, Nakuru and still travelling. Its a great country to be.

Once they know you are Nigerian, they flock around you.  undecided We are treated like stars here. r u sure about that?
They will ask me all about akin and pawpaw, ransom noauh, rmd, genevieve, osuofia, mr ibu and lots more.of course These guys are like american's actors here. nollywood effect and its impact on women Oh, one lady said it was the greatest day of her life to ran into ramsey noauh in nairobi. She was all about it. yeah I said these nolly wood actors have drove some women crazy here A lady in the hotel at mombassa wouldnt let me rest, immediately she sees me coming in from work, she will ask, ask and keeeeeeeeeeeeeep asking me questions about naija, of course we want to know more cz all we hear about is drugs and war.Its same with the taxi guy that takes me around, infact, on my way to the kakamega, i was like a king at the bus station, they were asking about eyimba, nigerian footballers, how come we ran soo fast at short distants race. I cant get to a shop without been tood up for long by people wanting to know some thing about naija. yeah those people from western kenya love football like crazy and they adore your national team.Of course you are the best so who wouldnt want to be close to the eagles.
Flavour song, ashawo, ashewo is their second national anthem, they just like the song. hahaha yeah you r right. That ashawo is crazy. Thanks to churchill of classic 105
In respect to church, naija churches like winners and christ embassy and others are doing exceptional well. Infact when a niajan pastor come around here, the people look at them like american pastors. But after a while people they engange in immorality and lose favour. They spoil market for the genuine ones. Winners and Christ embassy are the ones standing so far. Most had crazy immoral pastors from there.
Good country, its just the food. I was throwing up the first day i got here, no pepper in their food. You mean your food must have pepper? here you go to to ask for pepper lol thats funny what if you cant eat pepper?Or better still you should have asked for Indian food.I had to go to the supermaket to buy peper, which they call pili pili, grin grin grin grin yeah your right which i take around in my pocket and sprinkle on my food when ever i want to eat. they like too much sugar. They have a lot of diabetes here.Lol are u sure about that? I dont have and I love sugar.Who doesnt like sugar?I was infact asked by the deputy mayor of the Voi to conduct a seminar on Sugar Diabetes. Its was awesome. great congrats. cool
They have lots of supermarket. Ohh they are all over.Big malls and such like. Some places look like the west. You need to sepnd ample time in Nairobi.Go down to village market ,Yaya centre,Bomas,Giraffe centre, park, gosh I could name a million and one places. I wish naija has lots of them like they do. The british structures are still very much around and that makes their city centre a cite to behold.

START TALKING TO YOUR FRIENDS, AT WORK, IN CHURCH, AT YOUR LOCAL UNION GROUP, THAT YOU NEED FAIRNESS IN KENYA.
WORK OF EQUAL PAY FOR WORK OF EQUAL VALUE. WHY SHOULD AN UNDERGRADUATE MP IN KENYA, MAKE MORE MONEY THAN A GRADUATE PROFESSOR IN THE SAME REPUBLIC?
SPREAD THE WORD AROUND THAT UNIONS, NEED TO STAND FOR FAIRNESS IN WAGE PARITY. NO MORE REWARDS BY ETHNICITY. LET EACH STATE FREELY DETERMINE ITS OWN POLICIES WITHOUT INTERFERENCE FROM THE KIKUYU DYNASTY.
YES LET RAILA BE FREE TO BECOME PRESIDENT JUST AS THE KIKUYU, HAVE RULED UNOPPOSED. OPPOSITION TO THE STATUS QUO IS HEALTHY IN A DEMOCRACY.
You have serious tribal issues bothering your mind. I have told you to get down to Kenya. Now how many kenyans are reading this? Those who are making change are on the ground. Real patriots not cowards.
Do something practical like joining a human rights group.Join Atwoli or Kibunja. Do you know them?

Do you even have any idea as to how much a professor earns? Wake up. They used to earn less during moi's time. They protested and specified how much they expect to earn. And they were heard.
Go to the prisons now and see real change. The convicts became soo comfortable they started sneaking in mobile phones and reaping citizens of money through fake promotions. They are not living in hotels but there are better of than during moi.
Take a tour round the city and see development. You will be tempted to curse the former regime whose work was to eat taxes and grow fat.
Are you aware that Kibaki's goverment withdrew all those fuel guzzling vehicles ministers were cruising around with?
We all thought it was a joke till they were given a deadline. VW were ordered instead to cut down on goverment expe. One or two held on to their exp mercs complaining that a minister shouldnt be seen in a VW but they were eventually taken away.
VW is now minister's official vehicle. No show offs.
Remember also how Moi used to drive along in a 100 m convoy of exp vehicles? Lol kibaki stopped all that nonsense. The presidential convoy was reduced to a minimum to cut down costs.
There has been a total overhaul in the judiciary.Democracy is sweet. There's nothing like 'the president's man'. No. Its your qualifications that make way for you and they are grilled and interviwed in full glare of the public. The interviews for the Electoral Commission chairman/woman are shown live on tv. No public office appointments are done through back door cz the other camp will raise issues and complain. That is why I love this coalition because everybody is watching out for everybody and pinpointing mistakes.
Its now criminal not to take your child to school cz of  free primary education.Did you ever hear of such a thing during moi?
I could write so many things but you need to research. Kibaki will go down as a proud president due to the development record.
Esp road expansions and restoring investor confidence.
Do not be too critical.Count your blessings and see what good has been done.
Kenya is not 100% perfect but every kenyan that was there before this present goverment came into being has something positive to talk about. Change is there. We have seen some, some are still implemented and dont forget the vision 2030.

Why are upset that Obama married an American woman? You should marry an American too, rather than showing envy and ignorance by sleeping in the Kenyatta dynasty.

We need more Moi's and more Raila.

shocked shocked
You are so misinformed I seriously have nothing to say. If the bolded came out of your mouth then I understand why you are talking like this. Moi the dictator? The one who fought democracy with all his might? Most of the current leaders you see now are former political prisoners during moi's era. The late Wangari maathai faced the brutality of his regime when he opposed the grabbing of forest land.Corruption was the order of the day under Moi.Kenya started rising from the dust when moi left. And here you are saying we need such leaders? Are you out of your mind?
No kenyan cares about Obamas heritage. Its only a minority few but they realised they are not receiving any special favours by associating themselves with Obama. It was plain ignorance and stupidity for them to imagine that Kisumu would be an extension of USA cz of the hullabaloo. The first country Obama visited after his presidency was Ghana not Kenya. And he talked good of Ghana. That did not go down well with the few pro Raila's supporters. Reality sank in grin
Now get this well. Am a Kenyan but I speak non of the languages except Swahili and English. I do not support and have never supported a tribe.I hate it. I vote for a leader. I would love to see Martha Karua take over cz of her principles and policies.
She reminds me of Wangari Maathai.Unbowed nt shaked and a fighter. She doesn't fear opposing the regime and doesn't take sides.
Now show me a patriot and I will show you Martha.
Look across the current breed that we have. Its all about power and alliances.Everybody is doing it. Kibaki is going home,he must groom somebody who will face off Raila and the others. Raila is doing the same.
Do I care? No? I will vote in the lesser devil if that is all I have left to do.

If you were in a burning house and you had the opportunity of taking only 1 thing from d house e.g $50m, your mum, sleeping spouse, your 5yrs old son, your certificates, your Bible or Qur'an, which would you take? Don't lie.
The question doesnt make sense unless the humans are crippled or bed ridden. But incase they are not,
I wake up the humans with legs ie son, spouse and mom. Are we not in the same house? I ask spouse to grab the $ 50m, mum to hold sons hand and I carry my certs. As for bible, I carry word in my heart and can buy one anyway. Then we comot.

If they are crippled, I put 5 year old on my back, spouse on left hand, mum right, 50m in spouse's pants and drag them on the floor till we reach outside.
If we die we die all at once.
