“Nemo iudex in causa est” (You cannot be a judge in your own case. This is a golden principle of justice.

But APC thinks it can be a judge in its own case.

EU Observers said the election was flawed.

US Observers said the election was flawed.

Commonwealth Observers said the election was flawed.

AU Observers said the election was flawed.

Nigerian Civil Society Organizations said the election was flawed.

The generality of the Nigerian people said the election was flawed.

Only Tinubu and his horde of Agbado Munching Vuvuzelas and their criminal INEC think otherwise.

My happiness is that the world knows what happened and who the majority are. And the judiciary is further put on the spot with the myriads of cases going on in court. Let’s see if they will look at us and the world in the face and tell us that the majority is wrong and minority right.

Will the minority get away with their robbery? We await!

All eyes on the judiciary.

Do you admit you lied with your claim that SS. follow the same voting pattern as SE. You
That in the 1979 election they didn't vote Azikiwe and he failed to get 25% in a single SS state
That Awolowo won Bendel state and that in 1993_the AD voted Abiola whilst SE voted Tofa ,

Trans Amadi industrial cluster? When did that enter the conversation
You think you can just jump from one lie to the next? I

Let us first resolve your original lies and fabrications

It is a fundamental premise of logic

No one can prove a negative you cannot say a person stole your money and ask him to prove he did not

Rather you prove he did

You claim Okpara built Presidential Hotel

Where is the evidence? Prove it
In statistics, when something/research subject shows 80% accuracy, approximation is allowed.

So, in 80% of the elections in Nigeria since the 1950s, the Southeast and the Southsouth have generally voted in one direction, therefore it’s safe to approximate that the two regions vote in same pattern in elections.

That the pattern varied in 1979 does not in anyway negate that assumption.

Meanwhile in 1993, Abiola won in Anambra and got considerable votes in other southeast states. Or can you downplay Kano’s contribution to Tinubu’s supposed victory in the past election because he didn’t win the state?

And about the Presidential Hotel and Trans-Amadi Industrial Layout in Port Harcourt, they joined the conversation when some of your ilk claimed, falsely, that the minorities in the Old Eastern Region faced as much maltreatment as Awolowo meted to the Midwest people, and I took exception of that claim and cited the even distribution of projects in the old Eastern Region as proof. That Michael Okpara, an Igbo man, built Presidential Hotel in Port Harcourt and the Trans-Amadi Industrial Layout. Those two projects are surviving till this day.

Now, can you point to any such similar project built by Awolowo in the old Benin province when they were under Western Region?

Below is your proof. Hopefully you get cured of deficiency in knowledge of these facts.

PoliticsRe: Did You Know Michael Okpara Built Obudu Ranch, Presidential Hotel PH, Etc? by Penguin2(op):
This is a Tribune publication of 2020. Tribune is not owned by an Igbo man.

In many circles among the Igbo, many are wont to analysing the pace of development in Igbo land in the context of the First Republic politics, with a lot of stakeholders giving kudos and knocks to successive administrations in the geopolitical zone in the last six decades, writes JUDE OSSAI.

It is common for the people of the Igbo ethnic extraction to compare the first six years of independent Nigeria to 54 subsequent years. Their reason for the comparison are the physical structures, human capacity building and economic progress and prosperity recorded in the First Republic under the Late Sir Michael Okpara as the premier of the defunct Eastern Region. He is credited with laying a solid foundation and creating a template development agenda for the region which then covered part of the existing South-South states, excluding Edo and Delta states. Indeed, a lot of the people claim that the most remarkable period for the Igbo in the last 60 years of Nigeria as a sovereign entity was under Okpara because of his monumental projects scattered all over the region. He built many farm settlements in the present Southeast and South-South geo-political zones. He also excelled in different fronts, including commerce and industry.

For example, he built the Hotel Presidential in Enugu and Port Harcourt; established oil palm and cashew plantations in the present South-East and South-South zones, as well as established Nigergas, Nigercem, Niger Floor mill in Enugu, among others.

Golden era

Michael Iheonukara Okpara, known as M.I. Power on the political scene, held sway from 1959 to 1966. Aside being an advocate of what he called pragmatic socialism, he also strongly believed that investing in agriculture is key to Nigeria’s development. At 39, he was the nation’s youngest premier. Born on December 25, 1920 at Ohuhu in Umuahia, Abia State, Okpara attended Mission Schools and later Uzuakoli Methodist College before going to Yaba Higher College, Lagos, to study medicine on scholarship. Completing his studies, he worked briefly as a civil servant before going into private practice.

While practising medicine, he developed an interest in the Zikist Movement — a militant wing of the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons (NCNC). After the 1949 coal mines riot that led to the shooting and killing of some miners by the police at Enugu coal mines, Okpara and other members of Zikist Movement were arrested for inciting the miners to riot and later released. This action made Okpara popular, and with the granting of self-rule in 1952, he was elected into the Eastern Nigerian House of Assembly on the platform of the NCNC.

Between 1952 and 1959, he held various cabinet positions in the Region, including Minister without portfolio, Minister of Health, Minister of Agriculture and Production, among others.

In 1953, when NCNC legislators revolted against the party’s leadership, he remained loyal to Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and helped to keep the party united. In 1959, when Azikiwe resigned as Premier of the Eastern Region to become the Governor-General, Okpara became the leader of NCNC and presided over the Eastern Region from 1960 to 1966, when the military took over the government. He was one of the two Regional Premiers that were not killed in the coup.

After I posted about the maltreatments that the people of Midwest faced under Awolowo’s Western Region which made them clamour for their own region with absolute ferocity, hordes of propagandists expectedly started twisting history and facts, as they are wont to doing, to suggest that the minorities in Old Eastern Region faced equal maltreatment like the people of Midwest but I’m here to disprove that fallacious claim by laying the facts as they are.

Of the three (3) original regions in colonial Nigeria, minorities were best treated in the Old Eastern Region. This was because projects were evenly distributed amongst all provinces of the region.

That was how Michael Okpara, the second Premier of the region after Azikiwe, built such legacy projects in the minority part of region like the popular Obudu Cattle Ranch (Calabar Province), Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt (Port Harcourt Province), Trans-Amadi Industrial Layout, Port Harcourt (Port Harcourt Province), Calabar Cement Factory (Calabar Province), etc.

Most of these projects are still there today.

Now, can anyone point to a single legacy project built by Awolowo in the then Benin Province?

Presidential Hotel as we know it today is very different from its original form

It was built originally as ONE BUILDING

A second building was added in the 1970s after the war

Why not show us Okpara's legacy in Enugu instead of telling silly lies

Awolowo 's legacy to Edo and Delta was free education which continued under Ambrose All I in the 80s making those two among the best educated states in Nigeria
Why not show evidence that Michael Okpara didn’t build the Port Hacourt Presidential Hotel? And if he didn’t, who did?

Again, you didn’t dispute the fact that Okpara also built the Trans Amadi Industrial cluster.

Those are luxuries that the Midwest province never enjoyed under Awolowo’s Western Region.

I also think Bola Tinubu was consistent. A was consistent as well...

Adekunle has always been his name, that he infuses it with Ahmed and so on to sack him for forgery will need the burden of proof. Evidence is too weak.

In the case of Edevbie v Oborevwori
FSLC - Oborevwori Francis
WAEC - Oborevwori O. Francis
BSc - Oborevwori Sheriff Francis
NYSC - Oborevwori Sheriff F
MSc - Oborevwori Francis Sheriff Orohwedor

The SC dismissed the appeal because there were no witnesses from the makers of the documents.

In the case of Ibezim, he lost both at the High Court and the Appeal Court. The Judges opined that Francis and Frank might be two different people and he had no right to change his name without an affidavit.

However, the Supreme Court stated clearly that it has departed from PDP v Degi-Eremienyo and that it is not to be cited anymore. Again, the SC comprehended that since the WAEC certificates were in question, the best thing was for the Appellants to have written to WAEC to get the true position.

If you say Bola Tinubu is female, when the respondents start their job, and they call CSU to testify and they tender the alumni booklet, what it does is to straightaway puncture every ounce of evidence the petitioners have tendered.

This for me is speculations, in criminal-related cases, the evidence must be fool-proof.

The 1999 CFRN didn't ask all these questions... Let me reproduce:-
S131(d): A person shall be qualified for election to the office of the President if he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent.

The Constitution went on to define what School Certificate is in S318(1):
(a) a Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, or Grade II Teacher’s Certificate, the City and Guilds Certificate; or

(b) education up to Secondary School Certificate level; or

OR used here is disjunctive and not conjunctive.

You said it yourself that CSU has confirmed he graduated there.

I have been seeing everywhere that he submitted an exemption letter, I don't seem to understand. What he submitted to INEC is ATTACHED below. I am not seeing any exemption there... It shows he supposedly served from 1982 to 1983. I cannot tell where the exemption letter is.

Anyways, we are talking about serious crimes of forgery and/or perjury here;

Lying under oath i.e. Perjury is a criminal offence and must be proven beyond reasonable doubt.

The consistent holding of the Supreme Court is that documents of this nature that tends to ascertain criminality should be tendered by their makers.

In Okezie Victor Ikpeazu v Alex Chioma Otti:
Hear the SC:
It is settled law that a party who did not make a document is not competent to give evidence to it. The maker must be called to testify the document's veracity and credibility.

Again, in Udom Emmanuel v Okon Umana:
Hear the SC:
..any document tendered from the bar without calling the maker thereof or a witness who has knowledge of the document and will have the opportunity to be cross-examined, attracts no probative value [/i]

It is trite law that what the petitioners are asking for are declaratory reliefs and hence must guide the Court with credible evidence and not assumptions. The petitioners must succeed on their case with and not rely on the weaknesses of the respondents (if any).

You say he allegedly submitted a forged exemption certificate and the maker of the document (NYSC) was not called upon. This lays flat that aspect....
Let’s wait for the courts to rule and exonerate Tinubu like you have said.

We have seen Tinubu in the pictures in their alumni workbook and that person is not female.

You have not followed the recent Supreme Court decision in Musa Muhammad Adamu V. Hon. Nasiru Garba Dantiye & Ors (2020)

Contentious Names
Mohammed Musa Adam
Musa Muhammad Adamu

Hear the SC:
“The names in dispute, Muhammed Musa Adam, Muhammed Musa Adamu and Muhad Musa Adamu appear similar and by the arguments of learned senior counsel Maikyau, SAN for the 2nd Defendant, there could be some disparity in the writing of the names premised on some accepted norms, errors or misnomer. Since this matter revolves around the WAEC results and alleged false information, the only way the facts in issue can be resolved is by evidence from WAEC to the effect that the 2nd Defendant is not the owner of the result in dispute and that the result and certificates did not emanate from WAEC to the 2nd Defendant in person. The Plaintiff in proving his case failed to write to or visit the West African Examination Council to ascertain the true state of things but relied on mere assumptions and speculations. The Plaintiff has the burden to establish by credible and cogent evidence that the result does not belong to the 2nd Defendant. The burden of proof…. rest squarely on the Plaintiff who is alleging false representation… It is the duty of the Court to consider and act only on credible evidence and not on speculations or unfounded assumptions”.

and Francis Chukwuma Ibezim v Asomugha Elebeke (2021)
WAEC: Frank Chukwuma Ibezim
Voters Card: Ibezim Francis Chukwuma

Hear the SC:

The trial Court referred to different arrangements in the sequence of the three names Ibezim, Francis Chukwuma in the different documents and the use of the names Ibezim Chukwuma Frank in one of the documents and found that the Appellant portrays himself by different names. It is worthy of note that the 1st Respondent did not allege or prove that any of the variants of Ibezim Francis Chukwuma as variously stated in the documents submitted to the 3rd Respondent is false or that the Appellant differentially stated those names for a fraudulent purpose or that each belonged to another person.
The trial Court did not find that the names were false or belong to different persons or were stated differently to falsify any document or commit fraud. It merely found that Appellant portrayed himself by different names. Yet if found that the Appellant made false statements in the document bearing Ibezim Chukwuma Frank, Ibezim Francis Chukwuma and those in which the three full names were differently arranged.

In the absence of any evidence that the differently arranged names or the shortened one Ibezim Chukwuma Frank are false or do not belong to the Appellant and belong to other person, the finding is perverse. It is perverse to find that there are false statements in a document and that the documents bearing them are false. It is speculative, perverse and unreasonable to simply infer from the fact that the names which have not been disputed to belong to the Appellant are differently arranged or stated in each of the documents submitted to the 3rd Respondent, are false.

Edevbie v Oborevwori...
Oborevwori had about 4 names and the SC affirmed him.
The two precedents you just provided have one thing in common - same set of names but arranged differently. “Musa Adamu Muhammed” were consistently appearing in the variations, same as “Frank (Francis) Chukwuma Ibezim” was consistent (everyone knows, worldwide, that people who bear Francis are sometimes called Frank, fondly).

But not so with Tinubu. “Ahmed” replaced “Adekunle” without any supporting affidavit of change of name. Do you really think that this is same, in facts and spirit, with the two cases you cited above?

Again Tinubu submitted NYSC Exemption Certificate that is date 1983 while NYSC started issuing Exemptions in 1985 and by so doing lied under oath. That’s not talking about the fact that the NYSC certificate is for a female. If you argue that NYSC is not a constitutional provision for the office of president, then what about lying under oath.

Again, in the absence of a primary and secondary school certificate, what prove does Tinubu have to show that he has been educated beyond secondary school level other than his degree?

And if his degree is his only proof, can he present only the degree certificate without NYSC certificate? If yes, why did he present NYSC certificate then? And if no, then can he be excused for presenting fraudulent NYSC certificate?

It is he who alleges that must prove, if it is certain Tinubu didn't attend Primary or Secondary Schools, it is incumbent on the petitioners to prove it.

What about Dino who has a Bachelor's from Baze Univ, he presented a WASC to INEC, will you take him to Court for that?

3. I know I have seen somewhere a picture of graduands and Tinubu was there.

4. How can you say he submitted alleged forged NYSC Certificate and NYSC was not subpoenaed as a witness. It is ironic as NYSC's involvement would have stamped the petitioners authority on their case.

5. In tribunal cases, the job rests with the petitioners. The success rests with the petitioners and not on the failure of the respondents.

6. I am not a lawyer.
You know what, let’s just wait for the tribunal to rule.

But how could you say that anyone who is alleging that Tinubu didn’t go to primary and secondary schools should prove when Tinubu himself didn’t provide any evidence that he did and is not arguing that he did?

Again, the Registrar of CSU has always written a reply to inquiries that “Bola A. Tinubu” graduated from the school because there is indeed that name in the school registry.

But it was until they were survived a court order to produce the CTC of Tinubu’s certificates that it was exposed that the “Bola A. Tinubu” they have always referred to is female. And that the “A” doesn’t not stand for “Ahmed” but for “Adekunle”.

Meanwhile, Tinubu’s APC membership card reads “Bola Ahmed Tinubu” which is worlds apart from the academic credentials he from CSU which reads “Bola Adekunle Tinubu”. This clearly shows that we are talking about two different people.

Now, in the court of law, “Ciroma Chukwuma Adekunle” is not the same as “Adekunle Ciroma Chukwuma”, not to talk of when a different name is introduced entirely.

See, the Judiciary would have to empty the Nigerian Constitution and judicial precedences into the Atlantic in order to retain Tinubu.

This Garfield guy is funny. A self declared and obvious APC apologist/beneficiary who always purports to be 'objective' is his unending 'analyses' and prognoses.

Such a joker, but can't hate because at least he makes his partisanship known in a dignified manner and he isn't an insufferable zombie like the rest of the APC irritants here.
Do you remember all his pre-election predictions?

Go back and read the SC in Buhari/Atiku v Yar'Adua then read Atiku v Buhari then I have the recent judgement of Oyetola v Adeleke.... If you still think this tribunal or SC will upturn the victory of Tinubu, cancel or cause a rerun, then we will wait for September.

Don't let anyboy deceive you, the election has been won and lost.
I didn’t say you are wrong.

I just quoted your comment so it will serve as reference.

Incidentally you are a lawyer and it’s good to see what you wish for the judiciary.

Degi Eremienyo was sacked for multiple mutilations to his name but “Ahmed” can replace “Adekunle” without problems.

The Nigerian Constitution says to be president you must have been educated to at least secondary school level. Tinubu presented no Primary nor Secondary School certificates but graduate certificate.

Now, the constitution said that for your graduate certificate to be valid, you must have served in the NYSC. Tinubu presented an NYSC certificate bearing female gender while he’s male. Again, he presented an Exemption Certificate issued in 1983 while NYSC started issuing Exemptions in 1985.

But you, a lawyer who I’m sure you might be scheming your way into being appointed a judge, said the Judiciary will at these things and tell Tinubu to carry on.

Okay 👌.

Why not tell us how Azikiwe championed the cause and rights of Ijaws ,Efiks,Ibibio and Ikwerre in Eastern Nigeria
Tell us how Azikiwe organized a referendum for them like he pursued for MidWest
Tell us about how the overbearing Ibo led NCNC imposed an Aba born candidate for parliament on Port Harcourt leading to a revolt by Ikwerres and how they fielded Okogbule Wonodi their own son who disgraced the Aba born Elugaraonu at the polls

Tell us about that
Isn’t that your job to do?

Awolowo was the chief instigator of the COR to demand for breakaway from the Eastern Region just because the Midwest wanted a breakaway from the Western Region.

But lemme educate you on how the minorities were carried along in the Old Eastern Region…

When Michael Okpara built Presidential Hotel in Enugu. He also built Presidential Hotel in Port Harcourt for the COR.

Enugu was developed as the administrative capital while Michael Okpara sited the popular Trans Amadi Industrial Cluster in Port Harcourt to make Port Harcourt the manufacturing hub of the Old Eastern Region.

Tell us where Awolowo built an equivalent of the Mapo Hall he built in Ibadan anywhere in the Benin Province.

Show us equivalent of Cocoa House anywhere in the old Benin Province.

In fact, point to one thing that Awolowo did in Benin Province.

I’m waiting.

Fabricated lies. I just clicked on the link and realized this dude fraudulently cut and joined to tell half truth.

According to YOUR write up, Midwest agitations began in 1952.

Was Awolowo the Premier in 1952? grin Answer No

According to YOUR write up, Awolowo people marginalized the Midwesterners since 1952?

Was Awolowo people in control of the government in western region in 1952? Answer: NO

Was there even self rule in 1952? grin Answer: No

Who was in control of the government of Western region in 1952? British

Then, why did the midwest agitated before Awolowo people controlled the government?

Simply because Benin wanted to be on their own. They wanted self rule but British wanted the country together.

Awolowo even wanted out of Nigeria. He never hid this from the British. It was Azikiwe that resisted any attempt by Awolowo and Benin to clamor for separation.
I don’t like engaging people like you with poor knowledge of everything but think they know so much.

Western Region already had a Regional House of Assembly by 1952. 24 representatives came from the the then Benin province out of which 21 of them were elected under Azikiwe’s NCNC and only 3 belonged to Awolowo’s AG.

Azikiwe was already Premier of Eastern region by 1952.

Awolowo was Premier of Western Region.

While Ahmadu Bello was Premier of the Northern Region.

Each of these regions were self governing and could make their own laws which was why Awolowo made laws that the Benin didn’t find comfortable.

Please go and educate yourself before you come to talk to me.

PoliticsRe: How The Presidential Election Tribunal May Rule:tentative Analysis by Penguin2:
garfield1:
Notwithstanding the headline,this is surely how the court will rule.this is based on what the petitioners tendered in court.ill write the final analysis once the defence close their case.just as the court combined or consolidated atiku and obi petitions,I'll attempt to do so.the petition is hinged on five grounds namely;
1) that obi and atiku won the elections and that their votes were suppressed.

2) that there was massive violation of inec guidelines necessitating in irregularities which calls for outright cancellations and a rerun.

3) that tinubu should be disqualified based on a conviction or punishment by u.s court

4) that shettima is guilty of double nomination

5) that 25% requirement in FCT is mandatory
6) that tinubu is not qualified by being a citizen of guinea and he is also guilty of perjury and inconsistencies in his educational qualifications

Ground one: Peter obi has not proven that he won the election and has not brought any proof to that effect.all his evidences points to the fact that tinubu won and that there was irregularities.even the mathematician prof ofoedu's analysis showed the only difference in the overall results was in benue, rivers and 18,000 units that were blurred.no evidence points to peter winning.it is safe to say that obi has abandoned this prayer and wants fresh polls.
For atiku, most of his evidences points to irregularities.a watery report akin to the 2019 server debacle focusing on 26 states tendered by Sam oduntan showed he won but did not give details as to how and was based only on irev data.atiku is focusing on disqualifying tinubu and declaring himself winner or a rerun.

Ground 2:it is settled law that one will not only prove irregularities but do so substantially and show how it affected the overall results.lp lawyers claim inec promised electronic transmission but has failed to prove that inec failed to transmit electronically.the only called one witness to that effect who claimed that elections was free abd fair.atiku called five adhoc staffs who also testified to that effect.this unfortunately only affects the polling units they worked as evidence in election cases are restricted to each units.inec can easily call 10 staffs who will testify that results were sucessfully transmitted.in any case, the electoral act plus a fhc judgment gives inec the leeway to transmit anyhow.inotger words, both manual and electronic transmission are allowed.those witnesses that said they couldn't transmit didn't blame inec but the bvas and eventually sent the results to the collation units.the purpose of electronic transmission by virtue of section 60-65 of the EA2022 is to aid collation.no collation officer was called to testify.again, the law says the collation officer will compare the hardcopy with the transmitted results.the transmitted result that was uploaded is still on the bvas in image form so the collation staff can easily look at the bvas image and form ec8a.
Lp also called an amazon staff to show that there was no glitch.apart from the fact that she is partisan and on her own frolic without AWS permit, she confirmed that they could be localized glitch within inec.even if there was a glitch,it does not prove anything.the adeleke vs oyetola supra case placed reliance on physical evidence and tagged online evidences as thirdhand and unreliable.
The only somewhat concrete evidence of irregularities obi provided was from 18000 units of blurred results which was based only on irev which are secondary results.lp lawyers should have verified with primary hardcopies.if they could he a victory,it will be here as 9 mil voters are domiciled here and 2.5 mil voters came out during the last polls.in another rerun, fewer will come out.outside this,no substantial infraction has been proven.notjing compelling has been tendered.see okereke vs umahi 2015 supra.obi petition is full of mere allegations and averments and these are not evidence.see uzodinma vs pdp supra 2020.most of the evidences tendered were not pleaded.see the above case laws...
To further destroy obi's case, the apex court has severally stated that guidelines cannot be a ground for election petition.see wike vs dakuku, okereke vs supra, pdp vs yari...

Ground four: no arguments has been canvassed on the fct matter so it can be seemed abandoned.but if not,a community reading of section 28,section 42 and 299 of the constitution has placed fct as a state.the body language, orbiter dictum, innuendoes of the court has shown where they will stand.again, the principle of legal ambiguity presupposes that where an ambiguity in law exists, the jurists will choose the most sensible, meaningful option for the lawmakers are not confusuonists or intent to create chaos.
In reality, fct is less than a state and cannot all of a sudden be elevated above a state without bringing equality first.moreover, other similar democracies do not practice such absurd voting system...

Ground three: section 182 d and e clearly says within a period of 10 years,he has been imprisoned or convicted by any court in nigeria.tinubu forfeiture wasn't a conviction and even if,10 years has elapsed and the judgment wasn't registered in Nigeria

Ground four; the shettima issue has been buried by the supreme court.they clearly stated that it was a pre election matter and internal to a party and that it can only extend beyond if he was nominated by 2 parties.sectiin 84 of the electoral act clearly makes nomination a pre election matter and only aspirants have locus standi.double nomination is not a constitutional matter and only constitutional matters pertaining to qualifications can be raised at a tribunal.again, the apex court found out that shettima was never guilty of double nomination and lp has no new evidence necessitating a review.

6) concerning perjury, the inec form has two questions on nationality.whether one has ever changed nationality? This is a no for tinubu.secondly, whether tinubu has ever voluntarily acquired citizenship elsewhere.this is a no because he never sought for guinean citizenship,he was only conferred and given a diplomatic passport to that effect.
On the so-called evidences supplies by atiku witness, the witness a lawyer rubbished most of them.the Female gender was recorded in his transcript and he never submitted transcript to inec as it's not a constitutional requirement.adekunle has been in his name and the apex court has severally ruled on name variations.the age differences is of no effect as the apex court noted that as far as a candidate is up to 40 years,he is good to go.see AGI vs ayade supra..

It is human nature to always subdue and oppress when they are the majority. I don't think you can compare Awolowo with Tinubu. Tinubu doesn't come close, not even by half. Tinubu only exploits Tribal affiliation for his political goals. Awolowo exploit tribal affiliations for the advancement of his people. He cares less about others. But then he's a leader of a region with non-Yorubas.

He could have avoided lots of setbacks by being neutral, but no, he'd loose it all than not advancing the goal of his people. Tinubu won't make such moves. Tinubu exploits both Tribal and religious sentiments for his political goals. So Awolowo is more a tribal leader.

@bolded, even till today, that sentiments still hold for the minorities. Should Nigeria divide today you'd be shocked by how many nation will come out of this contraption. Nobody wants to experience what they faced during the regional system of government. The minorities were munched from all corners.
You are right about Awolowo. And I’m sure that’s why a lot of stakeholders of Nigeria never wanted him to be president.

Efewestern:
Awolowo was too pro-Yoruba to be a leader in a diverse region like West. He only dived into the Olu Tussle because of Itsekiri's Yoruba link/ancestry. A suicidal political move that cost him a lot. He also allocated more to Ibadan with less population than Benin with higher population. His only political allies were mainly from the Itsekiri stock, that's to tell you how pro-Yoruba he's. People like Rewane stood by him till the end, while political gladiators from Urhobo/Benin rallied with Azikiwe who was also trying to weaken Awo's growing influences.

Also, you are wrong with the quoted. Awolowo never instigated the COR demand for separation. The minorities in the then Eastern region were already demanding for a separate region and the removal of Eyo-Eta strengthened their resolve for their independence. Minorities had no good anywhere. It was hell everywhere. Those in Northern received the highest slaps of injustice.

We don't want to open the cankerworm of the past, but if we are to, then we should speak the truth at all time.
I think Awolowo was everything Tinubu is now, and more.

Man was very tribalistic. Tried to make Yoruba the lingua franca even to non-Yorubas like Benins and Western Igbos.

You can imagine one of the leaders of the Benin people then saying they preferred being bombed by nuclear weapon than remaining under Western Region. Do you know what can make a man say that?

No matter how horrible you ibo try to paint the Yorubas. Prosperity is there to judge. No matter the trash which i'm not interested in reading you posted there one thing is for certain, Was the Bendel (The so called mid west) granted independence or not? Were they not allowed to have their own life in their hands?

Now let's talk about the minority in the ibo dominated eastern region. What happened to Adaka Boro when he deemed it fit for his non ibo people to have freedom and own their life? Why was he arrested, why were the so much loved non ibos of eastern region mostly used for target practice by the majority ibos during the civil war and other atrocities. Even till date the minority in our midst enjoy the best of freedom but same can never be said about independent ethnicity even in far away Niger Delta as you lots still try to lump them in your so called Beeeerfraud.

Yorubas believe in on Yoruba. We care less about any other group ok. The problem with op and his likes is they don't know how to have a decorum.

You can't be using emotions to be writing something that will implicate your own region.

The purpose of this thread is to show how the then Westerners mistreated the Midwest people which made them to break away. Meaning when they requested for being alone, it was granted to them by the then Western government, no Fighting, no arrest.

I asked questions about Adaka Boro above, if the Niger Delta people wasn't mistreated by the majority dominated Eastern people which Ojukwu is the one in charge of Eastern region while Ironsi was the head of State, would they have demanded to have their own republic ?

Were Niger Delta people allowed to gain their freedom from the dominated Easterners? The answer is No but instead their leader was mistreated

Awolowo made 2 important attempt for Nigeria to have a secession clause should Incase they are tired of the contraption, Azikwe bluntly said no, for better for good.

Adaka Boro and his people got fed up about the contraption early enough, Ironsi and Ojukwu also said No, we die here together.

You sabotaged others efforts in leaving this contraption and you think those people would also allow you to go?

That dream of Biafra will continue to be a fermented palm wine tapper's dream.

You can't plant guava and be expecting to harvest apple
Go back and read the full post now so you can get the full history.

Proponents of Midwestern Region traveled in the back of lorries concealed with plantains because Awolowo and his men were looking for a way to disappear them.

Awolowo then commissioned his boys to start throwing the ethnic card, which is you people’s only strategy today, by telling the Midwest people that if they are granted their region the Igbos will dominate them.

You see that tribalism has been the only stock in trade of your fathers.
