You people are so delusional! The is no even anything. This is a Northern agenda. They even pointedly told Dumebi Kachikwu during negotiations when he asked their attitude towards the south completing its 8yrs that “we are taking our power back”.

Obi’s only value in this coalition is his voter block.

To you and all who can’t see the flyer from the forests, I have been telling you how things will play out since 2022 and I have NEVER been wrong. Feel free to believe there will be a fair contest or that Obi will become the flag bearer talk less win. Let’s just wait till then and strike a deal that if I am right once again, you finally admit that you don’t understand Nigerian politics and maybe I read political situations better than you do and if you turn out to be right that I do t know what I am talking about? Deal?
And in all this, you think Obi is so daft that he will sit there and be used?

You really do not recognize that Obi was deliberate about what he did in 2023? To teach the north that they can’t do anything alone?

But somehow you think he will now sit down and be used. Goodluck with what you believe.

Let me ask you a question. Why do you think someone like Kwankwaso or any of those big names refused to Vice Obi in 2023 and he had to go for a relatively unknown Datti and what do you think has changed this time?

You are free to call northerners names. The fact still remain that this is politics we are talking about and they are not followers of your Obi just as they are not followers of Tinubu.

In voting Obi what will be paramount will be political interest not hunger. Can you with all certainty promise anyone that if Obi becomes president, he will end their hunger? People are not fools you know. The fact is Obi is a southerner just like Tinubu. If the South want only 8 years, Tinubu has done 4 and cannot do more than another 4. Obi on the other hand has the possibility of an 8 year rule. Tell me, if you were in the shoe of the northerners, which will be your safest bet for getting political power back to your region in 2031?
Kwankwaso and the rest could not accept to be vice to Obi in 2023 because of one thing - Igbophobia. And again because they believed Nigerians will not vote an Igbo man but they were shocked by 6pm of Election Day. And that has changed a lot of dynamics around Obi.

Now, if we begin to calculate power rotation and the north feel they cannot trust another Southerner to finish the remaining 4 years of the south before power returns to the north, then the coalition is useless. They should kukuma allow Tinubu win his re-election and finish his remaining 4 years. Whoever is alive by when he finishes in 2031 will now succeed him from the north.

But just to ask you, are you telling me that the same youths who are destroying Tinubu billboards in Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Nasarawa, etc, will turnaround and vote for him in 2027 irrespective of their life status? Una no rate northerners sha.

So, Peter Obi, the trader, prefers to be called a One-Time-President (OTP)?

Chai!

Who talk say president no sweet?

The only problem with your proposal is that there's currently no vacancy in Aso Villa.

Again, for an Atiku to agree to becoming a Vice to an Obi, would most definitely bring his political career to an abrupt and disgraceful end.

Definitely, not after going this far in his (Atiku's) bid of becoming President of the FRN.

I repeat for the umpteenth time, PO may not even have a platform to contest come 2027.

Any attempt at staging a comeback to the LP would be vehemently resisted by the Abure-led faction.

PO is currently facing the litmus test of his political career.

Take a look at your crystal ball.

@hotseat
If only you were smarter than this, you would have known that after serving as Vice President for 8 years, Atiku is constitutionally barred from serving as Vice President forever, hence nobody has ever suggested that to Atiku.

And to state this for the one millionth time, without Obi the coalition is dead. No one else among them can move Nigerians and they know it.

He didn’t win his election and he didn’t win his court case and if we search, you are probably one off those who said his lawyer has never lost a case.

As for Amaechi, I said if he doesn’t play ball. He may offer it to Amaechi and the majority of Obidients will vote for him since Obi would have snookered himself. The argument was put forward to emphasize that Obi’s only destination in this coalition is VP. Once he leaves LP his fate is sealed!
Obi’s only destination isn’t VP.

The position of who will be presidential candidate is evenly between Atiku or Obi. There is no third, and you know it.

Now, with the sentiments that South should still retain power for 4 years, the odds favour Obi more.

But these things will count for you because you already have predetermined points in your mind that you do not believe anything can alter.

But let me remind you that that was how you guys doubted Obi in 2023 until they had to shutdown the IREV to stop him.

Any attempt at primaries will be seen as a ploy to choose Atiku. There should be no primaries.

When APC was formed out of a coalition of CPC, ACN, ANPP and a faction of PDP, Buhari was simply selected and ordained by Tinubu.
There was an agreement.
Exactly! Same thing should be done now.

They should agree on a consensus candidate and crown him at a congress. That way, they reduce even instances of rancour and disagreements that might ensue from those who will lose out if a primary is thrown open.

We shouldn’t teach them these things. It’s up to them to make or mar the coalition.

fergie001:
Don't let Kachikwu famz you.....
The Coalition will still use ADA if it scales through.

ADC was founded by Okey Ralph Nwosu in 2005 as Alliance for Democratic Change. Their first meetings held in Awka and later Edo.

INEC refused to register it because it bore semblance to Alliance for Democracy (AD)... that prompted the change of name to African Democratic Congress in 2006. Obasanjo wanted to use that Party with Donald Duke and others in 2019 but didn't go through.

Now the litigations per se.....
A Convention was held in Osogbo or Abeokuta, I can't remember in August 2018, where Ralph Nwosu was elected National Chairman on 28/8/18. Presidential Primary was held to elect Kachikwu as Presidential Candidate between June 8-9, 2022.

Now Nwosu's EXCO called for a NEC meeting on 25/9/22 that ratified them for another year, just like the LP.

However, Kachikwu wanted to take over the Party, so his faction insisted that the NEC was illegal and the tenure of the Nwosu-led NWC had expired on 27/8/22. They broke into factions but INEC recognised Nwosu. The Kachikwu faction & indeed himself were suspended afterwards. The ADC announced they didn't have a Candidate for 2023.

Dismayed, the other Party went to Court through Mike Ozekhome in Temitope Kingsley Ogga (National Chairman for Kachikwu's faction) & 10 Ors Vs ADC, Nwosu & INEC.

ADC held their Convention in Zaria on 12/10/22, and ratified Nwosu as Chair, expelled Kachikwu and also expelled his faction. Attended by INEC....

On December 2022, Justice Binta Nyako of the FHC Abuja sacked Nwosu and his NWC, that was how Kachikwu ran for President and as they say, the rest is history. Nwosu appealed the judgement.

On 5/09/23, the Appeal Court nullified the judgement and held that Issues of leadership and membership are domestic affairs of a Political Party. They also held that a National Convention had taken place with INEC affirming. The other Party also appealed to the Supreme Court. Hearing took place in January but you and I know how the PDP and LP own ended with similar issues.

Let me ask you, if we agree but not concede that Nwosu was wrong or perhaps, will an expelled member have the locus to even challenge same?

It's just another Apapa/Abure thing!

cc kukutente33

The problem seunmsg has is that once it's his Party, the Court can go to hell... tell him to explain Kachikwu's viewpoint now...zero.
Ask him who elected Governor Mai Buni as Caretaker National Chairman of APC, he won't explain.

The next game now, they will pick one Ward Chairman somewhere to go to Court, in a matter of days!
Thank you for the in-depth explanation. Because I know the coalition guys must have done their homework before choosing a platform.

Now, what happened in Abuja was the NEC meeting of the ADC and they have chosen new leadership which is a legal and legitimate exercise.

The next is for them to get their candidate right.

I don’t know for certain but I believe the coalition shouldn’t throw open their primary. They should agree on a presidential candidate and running mate and hold a congress just for formalities.

However, I recognize that if a primary is thrown open, Atiku will get it. But I can assure you that Obi won’t be part of that arrangement.

In the end, the success or failure of the coalition is in the hands of the drivers. Take Obi out and the coalition is dead.

It seems these Obidients are petulant and too sentimental

No one doubts Obi's popularity. But the fact remains, the North will not vote Obi in 2027 for two clear reasons.

First, they will not want a fresh southerner if we are insisting on a southerner continuing in 2027. The devil you know is what it is here.

Secondly, they will easily be swayed by propaganda crew who will remind them that Obi is Igbo and cannot be trusted with power. The Tinubu Muslim Muslim ticket appeal will simply pop up once again

But beyond all these, the election will be easy for APC to rig especially in the north without a northerner on the seat. Even with Atiku and Kwankwaso, they still managed to rig in the north and also got Rivers and Benue rigged for them by fifth columnists.

Anyone who is truly an Obi follower and wants to see him emerge President should be pushing for him in 2031. What should be paramount now is a written agreement probably embedded in the party manifesto for Atiku to step down in 2031.

By then Atiku will be 89 years. Obi will be 69 and will be the youngest President in 16 years if he wins which will make him attractive. Atiku/Obi is simply a replay of the 1979 scenario where the plan was for Ekwueme to succeed Shagari at the completion of his tenure in a bid to reintegrate the Igbos fully into national affairs
In 2023, it was difficult for Obi to get votes in the north because first, his running mate was unpopular, and second, the Igbo factor.

But are you telling me that if he becomes candidate of the coalition with the support of people like Atiku, Elrufai, Babangida Aliyu, Sule Lamido, etc, these men won’t still be able to garner votes for Obi in the north?

And you are really telling me to my face that northerners are so daft that after all the hunger they have gone through since Tinubu came into power, they will still choose Muslim Muslim ticket over respite?

Mark this post!

This coalition is an Atiku coalition. It is an Atiku SPV!

The only person who can see is Datti! Look at the people you are in bed with, do you think they are prepared for a free and fair fight? Do you think they will line up behind Obi? Do people like Malami and ElRifai look like people willing to accept Obi as President or people who need the votes of his supporters? Already as they speak they are lining up their delegates! Northern states traditionally have the highest No of delegates in any party primaries , is it Obi that will control them? Some one who hasn’t officially joined the party yet and did not do well in the North last time? Is it Kebbi with Malami, Kwara with Abdulahi, Osun with Aregbe, Benue with Mark, or Adamawa with Atiku whose delegates will vote for Obi? Look at the coloration of the alliance, which states can Obi get delegates from? Amaechi will do a delegates deal with Atiku, so will Aregbe!

Obi will not win the primaries. Even in a free and fair fight he won’t win the primaries against Atiku. By the time he is a candidate in the primaries, it means he has left LP since you can’t be a member of 2 parties. Once he loses the primaries, he is stuck and can’t leave to start searching for a new party without damaging his reputation, so he will be forced to take the VP slot. If he doesn’t play along,, it will be handed over to Amaechi. Obidients In the end they will be forced to vote for Atiku……coup completed!

Obi knows this, he also knows he needs the coalition and that is his dilema.

Get used to the idea that either way Obi is not becoming President!

I am on a self imposed exile from Nairaland but I am breaking it this once to post this for the record.
Since 2022, can you tell me one time Peter Obi has miscalculated?

Or you think he doesn’t have his strategists and is aware of all the things you have said here?

But let me ask you, on what basis would Atiku offer Amaechi the VP ticket over an Obi with an established 6million votes bank?

And what gave you the confidence that if Obi is neither the presidential nor vice presidential candidate in 2027, we will vote for Atiku?

You guy learned nothing from 2023.

This is not about politics or anything, but the world was never used to doing anything about Africa without putting Nigeria first.

When Nigeria had its pride of place, the Nigerian president would have led this delegation. But look at where we have found ourselves. Senegal is now considered ahead of Nigeria.

How did we get here? No one should be proud of this.

Nigeria under President Bola Tinubu has been excluded from a scheduled meeting and lunch between President Donald Trump and leaders from five African countries to discuss commercial opportunities aimed at benefiting American and African citizens.

On Wednesday, a White House official said Mr Trump scheduled a discussion with leaders of five African countries including Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania and Senegal.

The discussion, according to Reuters, will be held at the White House on July 9, focused on advancing relationships between the U.S. and Africa especially in terms of commercial opportunities.

“President Trump believes that African countries offer incredible commercial opportunities which benefit both the American people and our African partners,” the official stated.

While the reason for exclusion of Mr Tinubu remained unclear, Mr Trump had not publicly engaged the African most populous country for any commercial opportunities since he was inaugurated in January.

However, Mr Tinubu in April received a State Department representative from Mr Trump’s administration, Senior Advisor for Africa, in Paris, Massad Boulos,

According to multiple reports, their meeting focused on developing a strategic economic and security partnership between Nigeria, Africa and the United States, which was anchored on mutual respect, prosperity and regional stability.

Meanwhile, Mr Trump recently discontinued U.S. foreign aid for Africa as part of his administration’s plan to curb wasteful spending not in tandem with Mr Trump’s “America First” policies.

In June, the U.S. president also unveiled plans to place a general visa ban on 36 additional African countries including Nigeria, stating that affected countries must meet new requirements laid down by the State Department within 60 days

Well, anyone who has common sense knows that party rustling is not the solution to defeating Tinubu in 2027.

There is no way the real ADC leaders will not revolt against this abduction and imposition.

I wonder why these people who have held top political offices fail to realize that there are rules to follow in doing this thing.

The s*X toy Senator was comparing APC defeating PDP in 2015 to this.

No, they are different.

In 2015, APC was not an existing party so there was no abduction and imposition. Their chairman was called protem chairman.

The word protem means for the time being and that person was Chief Bisi Akande. And that is permissible in the law covering the formation of political parties.

An existing party can not do the same.

Which organ of the existing party appointed Mark as the national chairman?

How will a man be appointed national chairman of an existing party when he's yet to resign from his old party?

How can a group of new entrants to an existing party appoint a national chairman and secretary and you think that there will not be a legal backlash that could end up making whatever they build a nullity?

I personally do not think that these men do not know the implication of what they are embarking on and if they know that they still go ahead instead of forming a brand new party or join an existing party without imposing their handpicked NEC, then are they operating under a powerful spell or are they actually clearing the way for Tinubu's re-election?

The North East have also not produced the Presidency since Tafawa Balewa. This might just be his last chance.... I wish Obi well I don't see VP as a bad choice for him, if you'll ask me.

That's by the way, what's most important now is the very plenty series of meetings that should take place before the Primary.
I’m not seeing them organizing a primary except just to crown their consensus candidate.

The coalition should know that throwing open the contest like that might create room for rancour for those who will lose out and also create room for litigations which might affect them.

They will throw up a consensus candidate which would be between Atiku and Obi. There’s no third candidate in the mix if they are serious about unsitting Tinubu.

The way it is difficult for you to convince someone from Abia or Ebonyi to vote Atiku presently, it's the same way it is for someone in Potiskum. This is politics and the numbers matter. Buhari opened the space but Tinubu would not.

They are having a close-door meeting next week (Atiku & Obi) PO has been given a first line of refusal, he will take some time to think about it.
PDP is bringing President
LP is bringing Vice, I said I should let you know incase.
If he says no, then APC is bringing Vice - precisely, Amaechi.

I like to be very realistic and tell you ahead of time. Obi won't do one term, North said it is their turn after Tinubu, they won't give another Southerner 8 years. In the deeply Muslim North where the votes are harvested, an Igbo Christian is not on the table for now. I am Igbo and I am Christian - Anglican precisely, na the truth I just tell you.

There is no PU on twitter or SM, the people who go to those villages to harvest the votes will tell you.... I don run election before toured, wards after wards, the truth is bitter. Votes & numbers is all that matters.... The players know!
I respect how you are always privy to some privileged information but I want to remind you that the reason APC couldn’t bring a southerner to challenge Jonathan in 2015 is because it was generally agreed that it was the turn of the north after Jonathan had served out Yaradua’s term and did 4 years of his own tenure.

But the dynamics is different now. It’s the turn of the south now. Buhari just finished 8 years. Or you think those dynamics won’t come into play?

People in the southeast don’t need to be informed of coalition before they will know Obi’s party. And besides, they are more informed than you are willing to give them credit for.

It always baffles me how you underrate Obi’s popularity. You don’t acknowledge the fact that results were written against him in the entire Southwest States even in Lagos.

You do not acknowledge the fact that his votes in most part of the north was allocated to another party because there were no strong voice to protect them.

You forget the actions of characters like Wike who overturned the result of Rivers State against Obi.

And now you also do not believe that a whole Atiku, Elrufai, Sule Lamido, Tambuwal, Babangida Aliyu, etc, can get considerable northern voters to vote Obi.
