Felabrity: I mentioned it few years ago or months that the biggest politicians (in terms of fanbase and followership) in the north and south are Buhari and Peter Obi respectively.
With his demise
1. Buhari supporters are in the open, they are no longer loyal to him or apc 2. Atiku is officially the biggest politician from the north
End. You are right. You remember the proverbial strike the shepherd and the sheep will scatter? That’s what will happen to Buhari supporters. Buhari was the shepherd of his supporters. Now he’s gone, it will be near impossible for them to speak with one voice ever again. |

aswani: I think President Tinubu has to re strategies now because with President Buhari alive, he had his CPC deal intact. However, now that President Buhari is no more., that deal might have now dissappeared into thin air so most likely a rump of that party would be free agents.
It has made things more interesting for 2027, to answer your question, it is President Tinubu's loss, a pretty huge one I’m surprised to see you of all people actually admit that Buhari’s death is Tinubu’s loss while other of his supporters are trying to make themselves feel good by denying that fact. The truth is that Buhari was the arrowhead of Tinubu’s northern support. With Buhari gone now, I see no one else that can fill that void. |

Rather than have Atiku as president, let Tinubu finish his 8 years.
I saw a video of him yesterday and he was limping and breathing heavily just from walking a few meters.
We did anything but Jonathan in 2015 and got Buhari disaster.
We can’t do anything but Tinubu in 2027 and end up with another disaster.
We must be deliberate and intentional with our choice in 2027. |

HEAVEN4444: In his strategic moves it appears he has dribbled himself out of the competition. Like that striker that dribbles everybody out of touch. His hecky jerky movements of non commitment so as to last minute jump into the favorable position has cost him. The ADC guys are not going to give him the ticket. He will have to pry that ticket out of the dead cold hands of sai Dubai and might I add sai Dubai is looking very fit these days. That man not planning to be an ancestor any time soon. The LP guys have taken their party back. He can't join APC . PDP he can't return to. It appears Peter obi has dribbled himself out of the contest. Lord have mercy upon us And in Nigeria, there are only APC, PDP, LP and ADC Abi? Besides, which Atiku is looking fit these days? The one I saw limping and breathing heavily yesterday just because he walked a few meters? |

Akpakomiza2: Some voters esp in North central and Christian core north are independent minded and Tinubu has swayed them. Most of the power brokers up north are with Tinubu sir. Just like in 2023, the north is divided. The power brokers know the turn of the north is 2031. Again, most of those northern politicians want to be president and atiku is on their path so why support him? So, in the depth of your heart now, you believe Northern Christians (Benue, Plateau, Southern Kaduna, Southern Bauchi, Southern Gombe, etc) will go to the polls in 2027 and choose Tinubu over Obi? |

Akpakomiza2: You are missing the point. Oyegun can do nothing for it against, he is totally powerless. Edo just like delta voters are very independent minded and loud. The Rivers formula cannot work there except in delta south and Edo north. There is a reason why these two states voted obi massively. But I can assure you that while obi will win Edo, it will be much closer. Same in delta Thank you at least for accepting the obvious truth that Obi will still win Edo and Delta. |

Peter Obi is an enigma.
No dirt is ever gonna stick on him.
No propaganda will ever work against him.
In 2023, the children of perdition kept on shouting “IPOB, IPOB” but that didn’t move Nigerians one bit as they ended up turning off the IREV to stop him.

Akpakomiza2: They will sir. The north don't vote based on competence when it comes to presidency, it is always about ethnicity and religion and personality. The hunger started under buhari yet they voted him massively. Has Atiku done anything in his private capacity to salvage northern hunger among the Talakawa? You think they don't know. The dynamics hasn't changed. Infact, Tinubu can even rig out Atiku up north without consequences. Even if Atiku miraculously sweeps the north, he will fail woefully down south. 2031, you will still come here to drum of how APC will lose You and I know that the masses of the north rarely decide on their own. The powerbrokers of the north decide and direct them where to vote. Now, the question is, will the powerbrokers of the north stand with Tinubu in 2027? Or the powerbrokers are now useless? Or you think the masses of the north will decide on their own in 2027? And they will decide to vote Tinubu? |

I’m not rejoicing over Baba Oyegun because of the votes he will deliver for Obi. Obi alone can attract all the votes he needs. My gladness is that with Baba Oyegun and his men, Okpebholo won’t be able to pull off the Rivers template in Edo in 2027. |

LegendHero: Lol all these expired politicians won’t deliver vote for ADC.
If you can’t defeat Tinubu in 2023, how do you except to defeat someone like Asiwaju as an incumbent?
In 2013/2014, the political tide turned towards the opposition party because major bloc in the North and SW are together in the new APC. Again I repeat major bloc with established politicians holding electoral office.
Reverse is happening now. Most major bloc still remain in the ruling party and only “ex” politicians without any political capital are in ADC.
You better go and find another hustle. Even in that same North, Tinubu will defeat Atiku by vote numbers margin (NE + NW + NC) just as he did in 2023 outside incumbency. If I ask you to tell me who delivered votes for Obi in all the states he won, can you tell me? If yes, I will wait. My point is, Obi doesn’t need ‘expired politicians’, as you called them, to deliver votes for him; especially not in a state like Edo. All Obi needs is for them to deploy their foot soldiers to protect his votes. Or he can’t do that as well? |

ottersberger: Had Peter Obi attended, the same critics would have hastily accused him of insincerity or seeking political validation.
Let us be clear, following Muhammadu Buhari, Peter Obi stands as the most popular and politically significant figure in Nigeria today. His presence at the event would likely have overshadowed its solemn purpose, drawing undue attention away from the occasion itself.
His decision to visit the bereaved family privately, at a more appropriate time, reflects sound judgment and respect for the moment. Peter Obi doesn’t need to lie to himself or deceive the populace. Buhari is not his man. Buhari treated Igbos with disdain. He didn’t seem to like Christians that much either. So, in what basis should Obi have been at his burial? |

Kusu12: The 2023 election exposed you for what you truly are — politically naïve, a keypad warrior, and a failed analyst. All your predictions, fake polls, conspiracy theories, epistles, and coordinated social media attacks crumbled like a pack of cards. Yet, here you are again, toeing the same path. People like you never learn — or enjoy learning the hard way.
And frankly, I’m not surprised. After your next round of heartbreak in 2027, you’ll return to your usual routine: crying foul, spinning conspiracy theories, and ranting about election rigging. It’s your default coping mechanism. Which of my polls failed? My said Obi was going to beat Tinubu in Lagos. Did it happen or not? My poll said Obi will win Delta despite Okowa being Atiku’s running mate. Did it happen or not? My poll said Obi will come second in Southwest but you lots wrote Southwest result, even in Lagos. Look at what Wike did in Rivers. My poll said Obi would win the election but you lots shutdown the IREV, did your abracadabra and announced Tinubu whilst we slept. Then you told us IREV had a technical glitch and that we should go to court. And now, you have the audacity to come under my mention to boast as if Tinubu won a clean election. You should have some shame. And let me tell you this, in 2027, nobody is going to accept any technical glitch nor are we going to “go to court” should what happened in 2023 repeat itself. Until then, continue to gloat in obvious falsehood. |

Akpakomiza2: Divided between Tinubu, Atiku and any northerner PDP fields and kwankwaso if he contests. Oga, I thought by now you should know that Atiku can never sweep the north. 2023 answered all your questions. A northerner that loses the north to a southerner is useless sir. Atiku can win the north but never convincingly. He doesn't have the traits, capacity, popularity, personnel or machinery to do it. This is not something we should be arguing about sir. Tinubu will always massacre obi in the north sir. Obi cannot even win NC, is it core north he can do well? Atiku and El rufai can deliver themselves, how will they deliver obi? 2027 is a free for all and Tinubu has the advantage whether you accept it or not Atiku can never sweep the north? You think the dynamics at play are still the same as 2023? So you think with the mass hunger in the north, they will still thumbprint for Tinubu in 2027? Okay na! Let’s wait |

Because if Atiku gets it, then it’s a clean sweep of the entire north. And even if Obi gets it, Tinubu will still struggle in the north except Atiku, Elrufai, et al, are not sincere about their support. |

I saw a very interesting comment on one of the threads in this forum where the commenter laughed at the coalition over Buhari’s death. According to the person, the coalition drivers will no longer be able to use Buhari.
It got me pondering on whose loss the death of Buhari truly is?
We can say arguably that Buhari’s posturing before the 2023 elections suggested that he didn’t want Tinubu to succeed him. But no one can deny the fact that Buhari has demonstrated unflinching support for Tinubu since INEC announced him.
More than once, in the heat of the biting effects of some of Tinubu’s policies, Buhari has issued statements in support of Tinubu.
When northern oligarchs, who would later become arrowheads of coalition, made Buhari’s Daura home a Mecca of sort, he issued a statement reasserting his loyalty and support to APC and Tinubu’s administration.
Now, knowing the moral force and support Buhari still commands in the north, I don’t need to tell any serious political watcher the weight those statements carried each time Buhari issued them.
Furthermore, there’s no denying that if Buhari was to still be here in 2027, he would still support Tinubu for re-election. No matter how bad his(Buhari) popularity has waned, we know the weight such endorsement would have carried for Tinubu.
Now, to coalition, I am still struggling to find how Buhari would have been of any use to the coalition as I don’t think he would have ever come out to openly support the coalition even if he’s remotely sympathetic to their course.
Hence my question, whose loss is Buhari’s death truly is? |

Buhari truly had millions of undiscerning supporters who swallowed whatever he fed them without even bothering to think about it.
That’s why, even though I’m not rejoicing over his death, he needed to go so we don’t have him raising Tinubu’s hand at campaign grounds in the north in 2027. That alone would have guaranteed 1million votes.
Now, the Buhari script is ended, we wait for Tinubu’s joker. |
