Stop comparing Eko Atlantic with Palm Jumeriah.

Eko Atlantic is going to accommodate about 250k and 100% of the plot of lands there have been bought havepeople while palm jumerial accomodated only 10k people.

Both projects differs in size and purpose...so comparing both projects doesn't make any sense.

This is from wikipedia about palm jumeriah

After launching the project, it was revealed that the developer increased the number of residential units on the island (with a concomitant reduction in the amount of physical space between individual properties) from the originally announced 4,500 (comprising 2,000 villas purchased early in the expectation of greater separation between properties). This increase was attributed to the developer miscalculating the actual cost of construction and requiring the raising of additional capital, although they had never commented publicly on the matter. The New York Times reported in 2009 that many people had bought houses before they were built and are furious about the space available now and the way they seem to be living on top of each other
Don’t ask me not to compare Eko Atlantic City with Palm Jumeriah.

Tell that to your ilk, Candidtalk, he started the comparison.

But, then, why can’t the two cities be compared?

They are both Cities developed on the shoreline of the ocean from a reclaimed land from the sea.

They both share almost everything in common except size.

So why can’t they be compared?

Started in 2001, this is Palm Jumeriah’s 21 years and the city is already bubbling with life. But 13 years after, you guys are still pointing to few empty towers at Eko Atlantic as work going on.

Come on…

The funny part is that the same Buhari and APC they want to force Nigerians to vote, made the project a failure.

Those that invested believed that things would continue the way it was under Goodluck jonathan.
They bastardized every sector of the country.

The devaluation of the Naira against the dollar that happened under them is why Peter Obi’s investment in Sabmiller was devalued which they latched on to masturbate sometimes ago.

Same thing happened with the Eko Atlantic City project.

With the advent of APC and the introduction of Buharinomics, investors took fright and fled from Nigeria just like others pulled their forex out of Nigeria out of fear of eventualities due to the flip flops policies of Buhari regime.

These are the things that added up to make the Eko Atlantic City project to flop but these people will never admit it.

They keep playing the ostrich and hiding from the truth.

Keep fooling yourself. Visionary folks always earn big and succeed superlatively. Eko Atlantic is a very unique project that will be oversubscribed in the end, like the Palms Jumeira.

Bro, I have read your posts here. You are always hateful and toxic along ethnic, sectional and religious lines.

Just try to remember that life is short and entirely about being happy and fulfilled. Stop hoping for misery and woes because you hate others .

Eko Atlantic is a fantastic project on Many levels. It is ecologically visionary with vast positives for job creation, FDI attraction to Nigeria, superlative African iconic signature project etal.

Stop hating. Wish the project well. It is an audacious project that will put Nigeria on the world map, as the project shown below did for Dubai

Eko Atlantic will not utilise your cash or that of any of your SE States because it is Completely privately funded and created from reclaimed sea space.

Space you could never have accessed and used for anything if some did not deliver the huge cash to harness the potentials of reclaiming land from Seas and Oceans

Try, now and then, to reflect on your life. This life is short and becomes a prison if we become hateful and negative over everything and everyone we convince ourselves we must dislike and hate unreasonably.
While I must acknowledge that I will take your advise very close to my heart and reflect on them, it is pertinent I point out some things.

First, every day you see Tinubu supporters disparaging Peter Obi and all of his achievements; dismissing them as worthless and not worth campaigning with, have you ever given them the kind of advise you just gave me?

Second, you just drew a comparison between the Eko Atlantic City project and the Palm Jumeriah of Dubai but failed to acknowledge that while Palm Jumeriah is a success, same cannot be said of Eko Atlantic City.

The Palm Jumeriah was started in 2001. By 2009, 70% of the City was already built up with about 500 dwellers. That was in a space of 8 years.

In 13 years, Eko Atlantic City has not done half of that and yet Tinubu supporters will never seize to reel the project out as one of Tinubu’s legacies in Lagos when it should actually be a thing of shame because it flopped and investors are trapped.

Please let all the important people in APC defect to wherever they want I don't care grin

Tinubu is a fool. He thought a Muslim/Muslim ticket would give him the edge ahead of Atiku in the north. Imagine the dulusion.

The FACT here is, with the Muslim/Muslim ticket, Atiku is still gonna best him in that north, and most importantly, he has now lost all the support he would've gotten from South Soith and other regions who were wailing for a southerner to become president. We want a southerner but not with a muslim/Muslim ticket. I just can't wait for campaign to start. Even pastors would campaign against him to their Congregations. CAN never even start grin we will do a house to house "enlightenment" and I believe there are Muslims from the north who still values the unity of this country, hence would snub tinubu. grin

I just dey laugh Tinubu aswear. Old man think say he wise grin grin grin
Honestly!

The much touted run off might be between Peter Obi and Atiku.

But when you realize that Peter Obi has:

99% support of Southeast

80% support of Southsouth

40% support of Southwest

60% support of North Central (Christian States of the region)

Add Taraba

Then add Southern Kaduna, Southern Bauchi, Southern Gombe, etc.

Then you see a Peter Obi’s clear victory at first ballot; ceteris paribus.

So the poor are good at working for the rich in an environment they will never afford in their lifetime?

Instead of initiating projects that will make the poor to stop being poor, you are justifying Tinubu’s project which only provides avenue for the poor to keep serving the rich who enjoy all the luxuries of life?

It’s like a pastor who establishes an expensive university that most children of his congregation cannot afford to attend and he justifies his action by telling his congregation that the children of the poor can work as cooks, gardeners, etc, in the university.

The project is privately funded by South Energyx Nigeria Limited – the developers and city planners, a subsidiary of the Nigeria-based Chagoury Group of companies – working in strategic partnership with the Lagos State Government and supported by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Notable national and international banks have been quick to capitalise on the opportunities with some of Nigeria’s biggest – FCMB, First Bank, Access Bank and Guaranty Trust Bank – partnering with Eko Atlantic, with support from BNP Paribas Fortis and KBC.

Where is it written that it is Tinubu project?

Politics › 13 Years After: Why Is Eko Atlantic City Still Empty? (Video) by Penguin2(op):
Supporters of the presidential candidate of APC, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu, have always attributed everything they think is good about Lagos to him as his achievement and brainchild as though governors before and after him didn’t have a brain and thinking faculties of their own but were there to play the role as written in Tinubu’s scripts. One of those things is the Eko Atlantic City.

Now, the Eko Atlantic City was launched in 2009 during the administration of Babatunde Raji Fashola, 2 years after Tinubu left office. The groundbreaking was done by the then Vice President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Jonathan.

The idea for the city was said to have come from trying to stop erosion from the Atlantic Ocean to Victoria Island area which gave rise to intentional reclaiming of land from the ocean area to build a city that would be modeled in the style of the big cities of Dubai.

At completion, the City is projected to be home to about 250,000 people and provide about 400,000 jobs.

But 13 years after, why is Eko Atlantic City still empty?

I’ll tell you.

Because the project is an elitist project; meant for the super rich.

With an apartment in the city going for as high as $1.3million per annum, you can imagine how many low income and average Nigerians/Lagosians that can afford it.

Similarly, a plot of land in the city is said to sometimes cost as high as $250,000 to acquire. Again, what percentage of Lagosians/Nigerians can afford that?

So, you see, the cost of land and apartments in the city is why the city has remained largely empty, 13 years after launch.

This goes to put a huge question mark on Tinubu supporters who would usually count the Eko Atlantic City as one of the many legacies of Tinubu in Lagos.

First, can the project truly be said to be Tinubu’s project considering it was launched 2 years after he left office?

Second, if you answer yes that it’s his project, does it not show Tinubu as someone who would rather prioritize elitist projects over what would be beneficial to the entire Nigerian masses? Or can you point to a similar project that Tinubu midwifed that is for the low income and average income earners?

Why is Eko Atlantic City still empty after 13 years?
