Clowns.
The whole of the South East region is smaller than Borno, or almost the same size as Oyo state.

I remember when port hat out youths forced you to get your Ndigbo day out of their city. The SS normally does not like you due to land grabbing manners and the shege you showed them during Biafrian war despite all the attachments by force and unity begging 😂

Ogba in River state below 👇
What is the population of Borno and what is the population of Imo?

What is the population of Oyo and what is the population of Anambra?

Should state creation be about landmass or about the population that need government closer?

DeepThroater:
It will be in the line of equity if the SE region is granted an extra state from their existing five states but in this case , the agitators are looking at carving either from Delta or Rivers .

It's a land grab .

Let them point to us from their own existing states were a new state can be carved out but they won't. It's either Rivers or Delta .

Now this is paradoxical because even in their root villages they are plagued with seccionism in the form of so-called Autonomous community. I can tell you that if they wanted a hundred states from their five existing states they will be pushing for it given the autonomous community syndrome that plagued them. Instead this clamour for a 6th state steps right out of their existing boundaries.

Normally I will object to this but the dynamics of unchecked migration by these people into Delta north especially Asaba has totally disturbed the peace and sanctity of Delta state and looks eerily similar to how the misguided generation of Delta Ibos during the dark years presiding the coup sided with Enugu instead of their fraternal brothers in old Bendel.

I believe this calls for deep retrospection because the harmony Delta enjoys now is sitting on a keg only compared to that we'd suffered during the civil war.

Now just imagine the audacity of these idiots demanding trillions .

This is based on lost revenue from sitting on Delta north and Rivers .

Banzas.
Normally, comments such as yours are the comments that I ignore and give no attention to but because it might mislead the ignorant, that’s why I’m gonna address it.

First, nowhere in the entire communique did Ohaneze demand that the 6th state must be carved out of Delta and Rivers State; nowhere at all. Or where did you see that?

Again, there are proposed states from the existing 5 Southeastern States some of which are Adada State to be created majorly from Enugu State with capital in Nsukka. Another one is Etiti State that would have a part carved out from every part of the existing 5 Southeastern States with Capital in Okigwe. So, the Southeast is not insisting on carving out a state for themselves from Rivers and Delta.

With that said, the Anioma people of Delta North are Igbos and have never denied that since the time of the Civil War till this day.

The Anioma people - Ukwuani, Ika, etc - have no affinity with Bini. Not in culture, not in language, not in food, not in anything. The former governor of Delta State and PDP Vice Presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Ifeanyi Okowa attested to this on a national television. So, I wonder where that “affinity with their Bendel brothers” is coming from.

Similarly, in Rivers, people of Obigbo (Oyigbo 👎) are Igbo people that have never denied being Igbo.

Furthermore, we have Etche People, Ndoni, Bonny, who do not have identity crisis and have never denied being Igbo.

Even in Ikwerre, where identity crisis is prevalent, not every Ikwerre deny his Igbo root and heritage. The former Minister of Transportation and former Governor of the state, Rotimi Amaechi, attested to this fact on a national television where he clearly stated that he’s Igbo and no one can take his Igbo heritage from him.

So, where is this your claim coming from?

Why do you lots devote so much time in trying to tell Igbos of Delta and Rivers that they are not Igbos while you never expend same energy in telling Yorubas of Kogi and Kwara that they are not Yorubas, why?

You get what I’m talking about.

And what the diversion they are trying to build from VGC through Chevron Drive to Freedom Way in Lekki, the Lekki-Epe Expressway will be so freed up that there will hardly be traffic on the road again.

The only drawback is that the idiots handling that VGC contracts seem to be the most useless set of contractors I’ve ever seen in Nigeria. Very slow and unserious set of idiots.

But I blame Sanwolu for tolerating them.

Or you can bring proof.

The day I read that it was Hitech that built the Oshodi-Badagry Expressway, I had no doubt that they would deliver.

If anyone or group of people expressed any misgivings about the company and the contract, that doesn’t mean they are automatically Obidients.

One thing that is certain is that head or tail, Lagos is going to benefit massively from Tinubu’s government before he’s booted out in 2027.

This road in particular is very strategic and a good project.

When completed, it will massively reduce traffic on Lekki-Epe Expressway which will save travel time on the axis to a great length.

I can’t wait to drive through Ahmadu Bello Way to Orchid Road to Okun Ajah to Shoprite Road in Sangotedo and more.

Anybody who stays on the Island will be very happy about this project.

I just hate it that Umahi is working so hard to lower my hatred for Tinubu and his government with his many stellar performances🤦

South-East Assembles Igbo Lawyers To Sue Nigerian Govt, Demand Additional State, Trillions Of Naira Lost Through Imbalance

The President General of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has revealed that South-East will sue the Nigerian government over the marginalisation of the zone in the state creation.

Iwuanyanwu, who disclosed this on Wednesday, at a one-day retreat of Ohanaeze Ndigbo tagged “Ako bu ije” held in Enugu, reiterated his call for the southeast to be given additional state.

Lamenting that the region has lost trillions of Naira due to this imbalance, Iwuanyanwu said it was unfair for the northwest to have seven states while other regions have six states and the southeast is left with only five.

"A team of Igbo lawyers are being assembled to drag the federal government to court to ask for extra state and also demand the trillions of Naira Igbos have lost because they’ve lesser number of states," he said.

On the call for the amendment of the 1999 constitution, the Ohanaeze chief said that Igbos support the dissolution of power and allocations to be shared between the federal and state governments alone and for every region to develop at its pace in their various local government areas.

According to him, they support the position of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in January 2018 known as “Awka Declaration”.

"So no constitutional amendment can be made without bringing Igbos to par with other regions in state creation," he said.

Speaking on other issues affecting Ndịgbo, he said that efforts were being made to stop the hawking of awards with the names of late prominent Igbo sons.

He also issued a stern warning to those who have turned the name of Ohanaeze Ndigbo into a money-making venture and assured that he will use everything he has to protect the integrity of Igbos, adding that he won’t allow rascals to destroy what Igbos stand for.

In his speech, the chairman of the occasion and former military Governor of the old Anambra and the old Imo states, Admiral Allison Madueke said it was time for Igbo people to take a step backwards and rebuild the movement because any movement without tact will fail.

The former Chief of Naval Staff of the Nigerian Armed Forces added that Igbo people need to ask themselves where they missed their step and begin to make amends to achieve better results.

In a communique issued at the end of the retreat, the Igbo leaders resolved that Ndigbo have the enormous human and natural potential to initiate a “made-to-fit” regional development agenda that aligns with the current global reality; but also observed that Ndigbo had not exploited the opportunistic media space to identify the power centres in the region and galvanise them for collective action.

The communique reads in part, "The various specialized Ohanaeze Committees were therefore urged to swing into action to ensure the realization of the new Igbo agenda in sync with 21st Century socio-economic realities.

"The Igbo leaders also resolved that insecurity in the Southeast is a major hindrance to the development of the region and urged the southeast governors, security agencies and civil society organizations to redouble efforts in the security sector.

“The general consensus here is that the provision of security will unlock our great potential, especially in agriculture. The Retreat also resolved to intensify its drive for the unconditional release of the detained leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

"The Igbo leaders emphasized the imperative of collaboration between Ohanaeze leadership and Igbo Governors for the realization of Ala-Igbo Transformation Agenda.

“The retreat also harped on the capacity of Ndigbo for self-sufficiency in food production and urged the Igbo Governors to key into this vision and also ensure tight security in the region to earn the confidence of intending investors.

"The Igbo leaders also endorsed the proposed N10 billion Naira Endowment Fund from the Igbo in the Diaspora to give Ohanaeze a reasonable degree of financial stability."

This was disclosed in a communique issued at the end of the National Convention of the party held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the Grand Seasons Hotel, Nnewi, Anambra State.

The Labour Party has reserved its ticket for the 2027 presidential election for Peter Obi.

Obi, a former Anambra State governor, was the party’s presidential candidate in 2023. He came third in the election, losing to Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second in the poll.

This was disclosed in a communique issued at the end of the National Convention of the party held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the Grand Seasons Hotel, Nnewi, Anambra State.

The communique reads, “The Convention in session based on the antecedents of the Presidential candidate before, during and after the 2023 General Election recommend that the 2027 Presidential ticket of the party be solely reserved for His Excellency, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, the National leader of the party.”

Similarly, the party also reserved its ticket for Governor Alex Otti of Abia State in the 2027 governorship election in the state.

“Furthermore, the Convention in session reviewed ongoing development and performance of its Governor in Abia state, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti and pass a vote of confidence on him and recommend the 2027 Abia state Gubernatorial ticket of the party be reserved for His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti,” it also reads.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that Julius Abure was re-elected as the National Chairman of the party for a second term by a unanimous affirmation of delegates amid a series of corruption allegations against him.

This was announced by the Chairman of the National Convention and Deputy Governor of Abia State, Mr. Ikechukwu Emetu in Nnewi, Anambra State.

Abure’s victory comes amid heavy criticism against his style of leadership.

The convention was attended by members of the National Working Committee, National Executive Committee, Peter Obi, National Leader, Deputy Governor Abia State, Labour Party Senators, House of Representatives Members, State House of Assembly Members, Labour Party Commissioners, Labour Party SA’s, PA’s, and Board Members Abia State, Party Delegates, Trade Union Congress, and journalists.

I like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Bassirou Diomaye Faye for his victory in the Senegalese Presidential election. This triumph stands significantly as a testament to the beauty of democracy and the unwavering power of the people.

I commend the Senegalese people for their active participation in the polls and their dedication to shaping the future of their nation.A refreshing aspect of the Senegalese outcome is the relative youth of the president elect. If this trend towards youthful leadership takes hold, we may be heading towards the era of a new youthful leadership in Africa. The successful outcome of the election in Senegal serves as an inspiration to us all in the sub-region and indeed all of Africa, in reaffirming that the democratic process is anchored and rooted in the will of the people. I eagerly anticipate witnessing the progress and prosperity that this new leadership will bring to Senegal and the wider African continent.

This victory is inspirational and it is a huge boost to Nigerians who are resolute and tirelessly working to ensure that the democratic aspirations of the Nigerian people are realized without hindrance in the years ahead.

Once again, congratulations to Bassirou Diomaye Faye and the people of Senegal. -PO
