I have come to observe that there are a lot of Islamic stories and hadiths we were fed as children and even now as a grown up,but it is important we all research them before accepting.
Allah in the glorious Qur'an tells us to think, so it is important we do so as regards every information we are fed.

I won't quote a hadith the strength of which I do not know. Besides have you seen any scholars who forbade us from narrating stories of non -islamic origin in as much as it is not used as source of ahkam( law).

The prophet( peace in him) said in an authentic narration that" Hadithu an bani-israela wa la haraj". - Narrate( feel free to narrate events) from Bani Israel and there is no sin on that!

If you have problem believing what I said about the 3 that spoke in the cradle and especially about the story of Juraij and mum , you may read it in NOBLE QUR'AN under the footnote of Q 3 vs 46. The hadith is in Sahih Bukhari,Vol 4,Hadith no 645)

On the mother, you are not a scholar and hence not entitled to comment the way you did.
You are not obviously entitled to analogical reasoning the way u did.

On the Story of the Mother and Juraij, this is how the scholars explained it-

(1) The curse of the mother came to pass cos the son was acting without knowledge.
(2) The son, though praying, he was only a voluntary prayer.
(3) The mother was in distress and in exegencies like such you can break your solat.
(4) Because of 2 and 3 above the son should ve obeyed the mum and leave the prayer. The mum's curse came to pass cos it is the case of' a prayer of the wronged' just like the OP said.

This story happens in the nation before Islam so the hadith of 'paradise lie at the feet of the mother' was not a guidance that reached them then.

N.B - The third child wasn't of the story in suraltul Buruj but a child of a Bani-isreal woman.

You spoke the truth. The prophet said " Adua'u bayna al-adhan w-al iqama, laa yu roodu". The dua offered between the athan and the Iqamah is not rejected.

Also, the following times are established with textual evidences to be times for acceptance of dua':

(1) When the rooster crows- You seek Allah's blessing at this time cos it signifies it seeing an angel, and you seek Allah's refuge when the dog barks cos it might ve seen a shayatin.

(2) Dua offered @ Arafat

(3) The last third part of the night- For Allaah descends at this time to the sama'a ad-dunya (lowest heaven) saying " Who will ask Me, and I grant his request. Who will seek My Forgiveness, and pardon him".

(4) At the point of Iftar- The dua upon breaking the fast is not rejected.

(5) Asking Allaah by His Most Beautiful Names- The Prophet(peace on him) heard a sahabah supplicating with Allaah's name ( As-samad, Lam ya lid..,) . He said you have asked Allaah by what no one will ask except that he is answered. To Him belongs the Most beautiful Names and Attributes.

(6). After making 'a perfect ablution and offering two raka'ah'- Whoever perfects his ablution, prays with khushoo(serenity) maintaining concentration then ask Allaah, his request shall be answered.

(7) 'in da Qunoot- this is not restricted to witr of tahajud alone. The prophet offers qunoot at times of severe circumstances. Such prayer,Ma sha Allaah, shall be accepted.

( Upon finishing recitation of the Qur'an- The Prophet said: ' When you recite the Qur'an, petition Allaah with it and do not petition human with it( this forbids collecting money for the purpose of reciting the Qur'an).

The story captured in a hadith comes to mind here. It was reported that the Prophet(peace on him) said " Three people spoke in the cradle- (1) Prophet Isa(Jesus,son of Mary), (2) The child of a Bani- Israel woman who spoke when breastfed (3) The child in respect of a righteous man called Juraij.

Juraij was a righteous man who has a praying place located in the remote outskirt of the town. One day, he was observing salat and the mum called on him severally while praying but refused to respond. He asked himself while praying, " My Lord or my mum?". He decided to neglect the mum's distress call.

So the mum got angry and supplicated(curse him)" O Allaah,do not let Juraij die until he has tasted the bitter fate from a harlot".

The result is better related on Nairaland than experienced!

What I am trying to address here is a belief system and not necessarily the name we call the ALMIGHTY. Every tribe and tongue have the name they call the ALMIGHTY. So if a Christian Hausa man describes the Christian God as Allah because that is the name for God in Hausa, then that is acceptable as far as he is referring to the Father of Jesus Christ. On the other hand, when a muslim talks of 'Allah' as being the one that has no son, then he is not referring to the Christian God. So the name is not the issue here but the belief system.

Besides, you muslims say you also believe in Jesus(ur Isah) as one of the prophets but we Christians don't know who Isa is because the Jesus we know was crucified on the cross at cavalry and was raised back to life on the third day but you muslims say Isah was not crucified and there was no ressurection so we have nothing to do with Isah.

The Christian God has Jesus as His ONLY begotten Son and until you muslims accept that, your 'Allah' is different from the Allah being praised in Churches by Hausa speaking Christians.
