Its obvious the chap is an apprentice 419 artist. He brought himself out with all the long story that has neither head nor tail.

My conclusion is that his act is so poor he cant hope to make a living from 419. Maybe he should consider kidnapping for ransom since he has his eye on big money.

If he had said car is going for N2.5m, it would have made it look less of a 419.He can forget deposit Nigerians are too smart for that.I think.

Yes they can if they are ready to retire (without benefit) 96-98% of their public/civil servant pop and then return to an agrarian/nomadic existence. Allahu akbar.

We have become a textbook case of kleptocracy. The argument that these official loots will discourage graft doesnt wash. It hasnt done so thus far and there are no indications that their thieving tendency will abate in future. Unfortunately the press has become willing collaborators in remaining silent over this matter.

Solution: Intelligent, assertive, bold, visionary leader from the very top. All features that have eluded Nigerian leaders since independence.

Simple.Because Lagos has the numbers. The population of Lagos exceeds Libya, the whole of Saudi Arabia and some 50 other countries around the world.

Politics › Re: Halliburton: We’ll Expose Culprits In 8 Weeks — Okiro, Aondoakaa Says: by Pennywise(m): 4:01pm On Apr 22, 2009
Aondoakaa has become the nemesis of a rudderless infact, dead-and-rotten-from-the-top Government. The man breathes and oozes corruption. Its incredible that the same person will appoint an EFCC boss and exercise oversight function over the same agency.

The man is so power drunk and so full of himself these days. Of course this can only happen in Nigeria. This govt will be remembered as Yaradua-Aondoakaa govt.

It is clear to even the most casual observer that the AG is working at cross-purposes to Yaradua with respect to fighting corruption. Fortunately for him Nigeria lacks leadership at this time. Presidency is in hibernation.

I hope you dont succeed bro because the strong economy and jobs that the whites bring to your country is responsible for the relative social harmony SA enjoys presently. With the propensity that indigent SAns have shown to barbarism and violence that country will be far worse than Zimbabwe (infact unlivable) if the economy ends up in the hands of blacks.

Christianity Etc › Re: Believers Loveworld! Building A Happier World With Love by Pennywise(m): 6:17pm On Apr 09, 2009
My dear SirJohn you are an intelligent man, stop allowing yourself to be taunted. I have read your post in this and other threads and I find it clearly evident that you believed in CE as a church and that you committed your hard earned money only to realize that it was all a charade and as a result you felt duped. A lot of people have had their fingers similarly burnt. Someone went to jail (remember the Hotel Sheraton affair). Families have been torn apart when prized assets like lands, houses, even TV sets were sold and given to CE.

I have a (much) younger brother at school who I felt was too frugal with the money he gets from me prefering to save rather than spend on himself and be happy. All of a sudden I found that no amount of money was enough for him. He would even tell lies in order to get more. This went on until my wife revealed to me that he had joined CE.Thereafter I pushed him into the wilderness for four straight months and allowed hunger, want and deprivation to minister to him until he changed his ways.

See your experience with CE as a bitter lesson (life is full of them anyway). Let your vengeance be the good life you live now physically, materially and spiritually.Yes you will find it offensive knowing what you know about CE and then seeing some people here trying to force pure garbage down others throat and be compelled to say sth. You really dont need to.

It has been said that even satan will use the scripture to further its own end.But in the end everything will unravel. Do you see how easy people find it these days to create money making pyramid scheme around everyday products made by GNLD, FLP Tianshi? Similarly people are being led enmasse using churches especially CE as a means and extorted. The moment you can pay no more as a CE member you are pushed aside for the next mugu.

Faith is also personal. He knows best if he had faith to cause that change. A believer in Christ Jesus having a regenarated human spirit is not a mere man but he is a god irrespective of any physical defect which has nothing to do with his real identity in Christ. John 10:35
Salvation is personal. Are you in any similar physical condition like him?
Thank you. Great but very cruel answer. The direct import of which is that pst Obi lacks faith. I know you are a man of faith but I hope you dont ever have to go through what that man has gone through.

Secondly I hope CE doesnt make physical fitness and looks their primal consideration for employing pastors (if they have not started already).Because more questions like this will come of pastors and the leading lights of this miracle working church.
Christianity Etc › Re: South Africans Vow To Sack Christ Embassy by Pennywise(m): 3:04pm On Apr 04, 2009
Horus:
“
While South Africans are committing their hard-earned money to the Christ Embassy projects, their pastors are indulging in an unimaginable life of luxury. Pastor Ken Oyakhilome drives a Lamborghini Murcielago, Austin Martin DB9, Porsche Cayenne, amongst his five expensive vehicles. All of this luxury life in Houston , Texas is funded by what is called the “American Initiative” .

In 2007, the Christ Embassy Randburg branch got a member called Funi Silinda, a business woman. She gave no less than R100,000, a month. On months like the American Initiative, she is recorded to have given approximately R600,000. She bought a lot of first class tickets for most of the Christ Embassy, Randburg leadership to attend international conferences in Nigeria . She also paid for many of them to be in good hotels . For partnership like the Healing School , she gave about R30,000 a month . She built a computer centre in Randburg, furnished it with state-of-the-art computers and accessories.

Funi paid for the Christ Embassy TBN contract. She was led to believe that it cost R100,000 a month .Yet she faithfully paid for a whole year. It came as a shock to many when Funi announced that she was leaving Christ Embassy because she had run out of money. She said that all the donation she made in Christ Embassy were financed by business projects she received prior to coming to Christ Embassy. It became obvious that Funi was tired of being used which is something she said in the end.

The final straw was when she was told that she has been personally invited by Chris Oyakhilome to attend his birthday party on the 7th of December, 2007. Tunde Oyediran started working on her, telling her of how she would need to compete with others at profligacy when she gets to the party as they habitually auction Pastor Chris’ suites for anything up to R1million .That day, she realized that Christ Embassy was nothing but a 419 scam. It was then speculated that she cancelled the flight and went back to her home.

Source: http://www.huhuonline.com/news342.html
The unfortunate story of Funi Silinda and her likes in Christ Embassy is all too familiar. I can only say I feel sorry for her and her family. The reality is that she is just another victim of an idea that was once wonderful but has since evolved into a run-away train. There are many Funis still inside CE and I imagine more will come.

Ken Oyakhilome has never disguised his love for worldly pleasures even as a student pastor. But he has to be very careful now that he is in America because the authorities there have a way of bringing fraud into what brethren see as willful donation in a 'House of God'.There the line between personal liberty and a hundred years imprisonment for mass swindling is very thin indeed.

I refuse to criticize CE because some of the most intelligent and charismatic people I know hold leadership positions there and would probably do things differently under different conditions.

I have read a few posts by certain individuals, not least of which is by the fellow, hubreality. My advice to you is that rather than pray for 'God inspired' wealth redistribution from the very wealthy to men of God like you, you can actually create wealth yourself by getting a real job.It is clear a lot of things are wrong with CE (I can tell your superiors see it) but these cant go on forever.

You are all complaing of 12million naira. What of the official Senator salary of 2million per month!!  grin  grin
This is truly laughable. Senators indeed. More like gangstars. They equate themselves with U.S senators then appropriate all the benefits in the book even though their mental bandwith is nothing compared to their peers.

All public office holders in Nigeria are over paid. President to councillors.

My last Salary as an IT contractor whilst living and working in UK until early last year was 90k in pounds sterling, i now earn N11m as AGM group strategy in a bank in Nigeria and my lifestyle is far better off than when i was in London and the added bonus is the fact that i am back in Nigeria after 17years in Europe. My point is to correct the illogical comparisons in exchange rate of salaries in America and Europe with what obtains in Nigeria. N6m insterling conversion is about 25k but the standard of living of the N6m earner will be far higher than the 25k earner in London.
I couldnt agree with you more. Will settle for a third of the salary and live in Nigeria.

Business › Re: Intercontinental Bank Has Become Useless by Pennywise(m): 12:09pm On Mar 15, 2009
A lot of Nigerian banks have been reaping a long time where they did not sow. That is because there is no real competition for non govt clients. Our govt has dilly dallied over the years about removing all govt related accounts from these commercial banks.

If all govts take their accounts away from these banks they will employ codes, ethics and services that will be deserving of customer patronage.

Many people will see a correlation between Intercontinental recent appointment by the Kwara state govt to manage its employee pay role with this recent position of the bank.

All govt accounts should go to the CBN. Let the banks truly hustle for patronage.

@Sisterwoman,
Indeed I have always felt that certain categories of Nigerians are prone to such meaningless remarks and that the best attitude is to stay as far away from them as possible because they are usually dishonest. That was until I heard my senate president David Mark say on national television "Believe you me". grin. But he too is a dishonest politician.

Pennywise,

Infact, it is easy to follow the logic: take a look at unis, polys and cols of edu in the East and tell how many non Igbos are there. Do the same for such schools in other regions and tell how many Igbos are there. This is just an oversimplified experiment, but it begins to tell the story already.

In any case, JAMB statistics are also available.
That is what is called empirical evidence. It can usually go the way you want it. It doesnt change the fact that this document as it stands is worthless. It doent add to our understanding of the issue.

Asha, I get you. But if the press, for reasons best known to them, continue to peddle lies, it is left for those of us who know the truth to inform, just like the author did and I am merely helping to disseminate. People who do not want to believe the truth are free to keep deluding themselves. Saying the truth should not cause anyone a headache. I am sure.
My friend dont you get tired of listening to your own voice. The point other people are making is that your reference document as presented is defective and unreliable to change whatever impression exists. Thank you.
Education › Re: Look Who Is Going To School In Nigeria: The Statistics May Surprise You by Pennywise(m): 5:13pm On Feb 21, 2009
These numbers will only be relevant if the population of one region relative to the other through the years is constant. And it will be erroneous to think that population variation between regions is insufficient to impact on school enrolment and Jamb admission all other things being equal.

Overall the numbers may be sensational but they have no real practical value. Some might even see it as a mockery of statistics.
