gabrywyl:Gabrywil dear, how innocent can you be. I have to say I envy Malaysian men if every Malaysian gurl is like you. Nigerian girls are a special breed. There is usually no action or reaction early in the relationship. They give the impression that they are watching you but at the same time they are chopping your money. But money is a finite commodity. When you consider the opportunity cost of this relationship a wise naija guy will usually insist on an early committal (preferably at first date!) Many relationships thrive very well thereafter (irrespective of what you heard) because the d@#$ will always answer when called on not minding if it got in at first date or not.Otherwise our man moves on. The mugu will stay back and become the farm for babe.In the interest of the babe he had better remain a mugu because the moment he becomes wise then there is serious trouble. |
kaysy:Sorry, I have to disagree. This is encouraging bad/inappropriate behaviour, sending wrong signal and its a recipe for disaster. As a man you must be predictable. Reward her good behaviour- shower her with time affection and money (if you dont have borrow) but never forget to extract penance for bad behaviour. It might hurt you more. But its the only way to ensure order in a relationship for everlasting happiness. |
larez:I can and do relate very well to this bro ![]() larez:Unfortunately I dont have any Lekki property. Besides, at this stage I think I am content with just appreciating, admiring and making child-like comparisms rather than developing.Come to think of it country hard. If I have any Lekki property right now I will be selling ![]() |
The girl is obviously one of the immature types. Stick around and play the game if it is worth your while otherwise take broom sweep am comot quick. |
Sorry Larez if you were misled. Pennywise is a bad ass male. Now that you know, I hope it wont take something from these feedbacks. Boy, you mean deck the entire roof structure with felt before roof tiles? Sounds awfully wasteful but understandably American. To wrap this up, if cost was not an issue, what would you recommend for your Nigerian client- Aluminium or roof tiles.I ask this question for the benefit of NL members/guests who have to make a decision now or in the near future. And also for those shy and budding architects who are content with taking from this thread offering nothing.Pennywise is not looking to build a new home.Got a massive one recently that will probably take me a few years to figure out what the architect was thinking. ![]() |
See this closet flirt |
Look, Osisi that thing na brokoss and not blokoss. Show some respect. She can either lie down there and be fooling herself with a fake brokoss or she can go and make peace with her husband. Its entirely a matter of choice. |
If you were putting up this structure in Nigeria what material will you use in order to prevent percolation between the steep complex undulating roof. These complex roofs often fail at places where two sides meet- esp wall and aluminium sheets (now most commonly used)and the unlucky client has to resort to the use of coal tar to prevent seepage long after the architect and builders have cashed their cheque. Remember no gentleman rain and wind for Nigeria. |
@Sisi jinx, One simple sentence from pennywise and you are having multiple orgasms already |
ajileko:@ajileko, I want to believe you but you have to let everyone know what specific enquiries you made and the feedback you got that made you arrive at this conclusion. Did you find that Larez is not an architect or he has been disowned by the clients mentioned or those designs are not his? Larez on the other hand has taken great pains beyond what is required even unmasking himself in an anonymous forum to prove his point. The way I see it, you (and your motive) are the one making me nervous. The buck is now on you to substantiate these allegations so people dont say here is another NL prankster. And that cheapens the forum with the potential to discourage other brothers with special acquired skills to share from coming on. I am optimistic we will hear from you in the next 48hrs. |
Aisha's point is a relevant digression. I have seen similar opinions on this forum and I think it requires some attention. The spirit of dating away from home is an enigmatic one. No one can claim to understand it fully. A man may be having a perfect and exciting marriage but yet be attracted to a pretty girl outside. He may live is momentary fantasy while giving due consideration to socioeconomic and medical consequences (also spiritual for the more advanced ones amongst us). He doesnt appreciate his wife any less because he knows she is special in her own way. Therefore, it is not a reason to go sleeping in the sitting room while his wife is in the bed room. JJYOU:Sorry JJYOU I cant comment on your response because I dont know the direction you are heading. Are you a friend or foe. |
aisha2:All you need to tell him is that you are not interested in going out with him rather than spend 2hrs pontificating on his marriage. Some guys are really daft. I cant believe he spent all that time listening to you over a yes or a no matter. In any case if he had common sense he wont ask a workplace colleague out. It is amusing sometimes the way some girls elevate themselves to a pedestal and appropriate undeserved social reckoning even comparing self to madam because the man chose to make a fool of himself. |
What difference will their vote make when that of the vast majority at home does not count. And whose Idea is it anyway? |
May the soul of this late Governor RIP. If my history serves me right, it will be the first time a serving Governor is dying of a natural cause while in office.Ministers, senators, commissioners, even a serving head of State are kicking the bucket left right and center, never Governor. You will think they get some kind of immunity when they get sworn in. Unfortunately the ones causing the most misery through greed/corruption and for whom you will desire instant final justice seem to be getting stronger-young and old. They are not even sick. Somehow I think that two more happenings like this within their rank that will be especially shocking for their mysteriousness will help to convey the message that the poor and helpless are getting justice from the highest places. Sadly this might not even help the poor but the spiritualists-budding and established with whom our leaders cavort at the slightest sign of insecurity. So, either way, it will be sometime yet before true relief comes the way of our unjustly treated poor. |
tekia:Where exactly is that located in Africa? |
Your famous goat is now Yahoo News worthy. You all should be proud. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090123/ap_on_fe_st/odd_goat_thief |
Incredible!! This is the police on which I must depend to protect my life! This is beyond serious. It can only be funny to Nigerians living outside the country. |
fesse:Translation-Client has no brains whatsoever but he has plenty of money to spend. This is typically Nigerian. I have to point this out so you will know how to figure it into your calculation when you start getting jobs at home. It helps to know your client if you must succeed. |
Kobojunkie:Good question. Chances are that they have even executed the loan agreement and recieved cash. Not long ago, just before Obasanjo handed over, a lot of Nigerians (including pennywise) read in the papers of a certain fine that was imposed on NNPC by an American court for infringing on an agreement with an oil company. The amount of money was in the order of $50m. But records will show NNPC paid 50 million pounds. |
All your clients seem to be very high networth and celebrity. Do you do stuff for ordinary folks? At all? As you begin to work with Nigerian clients you will find that our folks tend to like balconys a lot.Someone already aluded to this in an earlier post. These balconys are hardly ever used though thereby sacrificing valuable living areas. My first property a twin duplex, had this flaw. I wish my architect had not been so liberal with verandahs because for me, no room is ever big enough. |
Looking at those pics of designs made by you, they look simply too good to be true. I can understand negro ntns wanting to probe deeper. All I can say is you've surely paid your dues bro. What I really want to know is who is that brood in the pics? |
Taken:Looks like she is still playing hard to get isnt she? |
Mpele: Laurnetta:Una two dey craze. Make una comot for Nigerian forum. |
@OP Do you know what Oprah makes from each edition of her show? No US Government can pay her that just so she can be an ambassador to an African country.Besides, what does her country get in return from a diplomatic illitrate? It wont even help SA. Our brothers in Govt there will simply lose their mind sitting across the table with Oprah. On the other hand, our people in Govt in Nigeria, are used to big money. So there can be more productive discussions if she is by any chance posted to Nigeria. |
romade:That is why pennywise is different from everyone else. He sees things the way many people do not. The one I found most hilarious was the case of the worst lawyer. |
I am simply excited with responses from Larez and other archis on this thread which is becoming sth of a resource material on building designs. May I advise that the thread title be changed to a more conservative 'Contemporary architectural designs relevant to Nigeria'. Not long ago I tried to gain inspiration by looking at building designs (duplices) on the net. Most of the ones I saw (predominantly US realty) just didnt cut it for me.Other archis should not be bashful about showcasing their own ideas on this thread and forum. Peeps who think it would amount to dragging architecture in the mud should wake up. Doctors started (or at least made famous) this no advert policy. But right now you have fertility shop pamphlets every where soliciting IVF. The proffessional body can do well to define what constitutes an advertisement. A lot of these bodies just have a phrase in their constitution that is open to all manners of interpretation. Sharing ideas in a public forum like this, is in no way akin to taking out a slot on radio, TV or the print media. If architects truly want to regulate their practice they can start by ensuring that members remain faithful to their profession and not become building contractors which most of them are in Nigeria. |
American houses I have noticed are uniquely different for their obsession with basement and attics. Not a bad idea to introduce same to Nigerian built houses. Why are our architects not thinking along that line. B.T.W truly great designs you have there larez |
Your post had me in stitches. Couldnt help it. |
