Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer, Alloy Agu, has confirmed that Vincent Enyeama will return to the team. The former Lille shot stopper unceremoniously retired from international football in 2015 after a fallout with then coach Sunday Oliseh. But lately, rumours of him coming out of retirement has been on the front burner, particularly after the Eagles qualified for the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia. According to Agu, who spoke with Brila.net, the former Enyimba goalie, who has over 100 caps for the Eagles, has been contacted but will not be granted an automatic slot in the team. “It’s important for us to know that Nigerians want the best and safest hands at the world cup,” Agu said. “We want to look around and give everybody the opportunity. It is good that Vincent has returned to fitness and is back with his club. “We’ve been in touch with him. The Coach has spoken with him too but, Vincent must fight for his place. It will not be an automatic place for him or any other goalkeeper.” https://www.concisenews.global/news/enyeama-set-for-super-eagles-return-goalkeeper-trainer/

The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) says the payment of pensions to ex-Biafran policemen means nothing to the people of the Southeast. It also said, in a statement it released on Thursday, that even if President Muhammadu Buhari stepped aside and gave his seat to an Igbo man, the agitation for Biafra would not stop. President Buhari has approved the payment of pensions to the ex-Biafra policemen. However, MASSOB accused Buhari of trying hard to get favour from the Igbo after allegedly committing atrocities against them. "For forty-seven years after the civil war this men have been denied their right. Why must it be now because president Buhari feel by doing so Ndigbo and Biafrans will praise him or we will forget the atrocity he committed against Ndi Igbo," the statement read. “MASSOB wishes to make it clear that even if Federal Government of Nigeria decides to construct second Niger bridge, dualize all the roads in Southeast; even if President Buhari steps down for an Igbo man to become the president of Nigeria, it cannot change our demand for independent state of Biafra. “They taught that we are joking. Is too late to cry when the head is off. President Buhari decided to pay ex-Biafran Police their accumulated salaries because of the danger before him. The United States of America team of Lawyers have dragged him and the Chief of army staff to International criminal court, ICC." There have been agitations in the Southeast for the creation of a sovereign state of Biafra, largely championed by the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB). https://www.concisenews.global/news/pension-payment-ex-biafran-police-officers-medicine-death-massob/

Former governor of Anambra state Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of hatred against the Igbo. Ezeife, who spoke with The Sun newspaper, also said the Igbo have been marginalised under the present administration. According to him, Buhari has used the Nigerian Army to intimidate people in the South East, condemning the Operation Python Dance which he described as dehumanising. “Major body language of the president shows hatred for the Igbo. The army massacred young men who were not carrying even sticks in Aba; they massacred other young men who were carrying Bible in remembrance of their members; they also massacred other young men who were jubilating in Port Harcourt that Donald Trump won the American election,” Ezeife said. “Python Dance by the army has not been held in Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Northwest or Northeast, but not only are they occupying Southeast militarily, so many people have been killed, and more people have been used as tools for humiliation and dehumanization. You saw the videos, where some people were forced to drink mud water; others forced to swim in muddy water, and other forms of humiliation.” In addition, he said: “There are so many indications of hatred and marginalisation. Are you talking about infrastructure in the zone? The federal roads are not passable; the money spent by state governments on federal roads is not refunded them so that they would not have money to fix federal roads.” https://www.concisenews.global/news/buharis-body-language-shows-hatred-for-igbos-ezeife/

The minister, in an interview with Vanguard, said the federal government had been able to decimate the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists. Mohammed added that terrorism is a global threat, saying that life has returned to normal in Borno state, which was hitherto under the siege of the dreaded group. Alex Iwobi says he would talk to Tammy Abraham into dumping the Three Lions of England for the Super Eagles. Abraham, a former England youth international that plays for Swansea City, is being persuaded by the Nigeria Football Federation to switch his allegiance to Nigeria. The player, 19, recently denied talks of nationality switch with the football body, insisting he was available for England duty. However, Iwobi, another former England youth international who switched to the Super Eagles in 2015, said the decision might not be easy for the lad. According to the Arsenal man, Abraham would be making the best decision if he chooses to play for the Eagles, describing Nigerians as “welcoming.” “Obviously it’s going to be difficult when you’re playing in your comfort zone, representing England,” Complete Sport Nigeria reports Iwobi as saying. “Some of these players have been raised up in England and they play for England. So that’s all they know. If I get through to him I could talk to him but at the end of the day it’s not my decision; it’s for him to decide. “However, for me switching, and Ola Aina as well it’s been great. Nigerians are very welcoming and you will enjoy your time. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer to the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra(IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has revealed that he does not know his client’s whereabouts. The lawyer made this disclosure while speaking with Vanguard, saying that the last time he heard from him was few minutes before the Nigerian Army “invaded” his house. According to him, the IPOB leader called him then, lamenting that his life was under threat as the Army stormed the South-East for the Operation Python Dance. “The fact is that they are in a position to produce him at the next adjourned date. It is public knowledge that my client had before his house was invaded, always made himself available for trial,” Ifeanyi Ejiofor said. “He never evaded trial as he made it known that he was ready. If he wanted to jump bail, he would have done so immediately he was released from prison. But he did not run.” Furthermore, the lawyer noted that “The last time I spoke with my client was the day his house was invaded by soldiers. He called me and complained that he was being attacked by soldiers who he said were shooting sporadically. Since then, I have not heard from my client again. “If he is alive, they should tell the court on that day. They will not only explain to the trial court, but will also produce the soldiers that went to his home to attack him.” Recall that a Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, had on April 28, granted bail to the IPOB leader as well as adjoining his case to October, 7. Nnamdi Kanu’s ‘disappearance’ may well put his sureties, notably, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe and a Jewish High Chief Priest, Immanuu El-Shalom in trouble as they have to produce him before the adjournment date or face legal action. http://dailyherald.ng/lawyer-declares-nnamdi-kanu-missing/

The All Progressive Congress, (APC), in Kogi State has been accused of under-utilizing the goodwill with which it rode to power. Speaking at an interactive session with the media as part of activities to mark the tenth anniversary of his consecration as the Catholic Bishop of Idah Diocese, Rt Reverend Moses noted that Kogi people have been frustrated with failed expectations from the government of the day. “In my ten years of service in the Lords vineyard, I have visited many places in the state; what I see are people who have been frustrated and disappointed due to the fact that government have not been able fulfill their expectations,” he said. “Those in position of authority should not see it as an opportunity to enrich themselves, it is not a call to self service or an opportunity to stash away money in a foreign land or for your children, it s call to service to fellow being.” In addition, he urged government at all levels to ensure they provide qualitative education so that the people can be better equipped to contribute meaningfully to the society. http://dailyherald.ng/apc-messed-up-goodwill-that-brought-them-to-power-catholic-bishop/

The Senior Pastor of the Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleiman, has said that the 2019 elections in the country will not hold. In a chat with the press in his church, the 'Oracle of God' who is credited for many precise prophecies, noted that unless Nigerians pray enough, the election might not take place. “Tell Nigerians who wish to see democracy sustained, to pray for our leaders and work for peace; tell the leaders too to pray and be honest with the people they are serving, otherwise, elections may not hold in Nigeria in 2019. That is what God has shown me.” Recall that he prophesied in December, 2013 that the former Governor of the Central Bank, Lamido Sanusi Lamido, will be crowned as the Emir of Kano.
