Walelavender: I have got a friend(Agent) who gave me details of the admssion process. However, graduated with 2~1 & he said its quite possible to rip off 50% of my tuition. He gave the fee as $10,000, with a scholarship of $5000. Would that be all about the tuition?

Apart from medicine that pay more that a year,no other department pay up to that.
fee structure for emu per semester with 50% scholarship(undergraduate) is
medicine- $15,000
pharmacy- $2,762.50
Engineering- $2216.25
other departments- $1833.75 but required to pay at least $2000 for new students

As a new student you cant pay installmentally before u get here but can do so as from next semester.

We discuss this issue of security men collecting money from student before they can be interviewed with the international office here but the problem is prove to show the ambassador they are really doing it.
If any can take a picture of one taking the bribe or conversation showing the security men are really demanding for such then it will stop cause that person will be use as scape goat to teach others lesson but aside any prove then nothing can be done about it.
Only wish Nigeria can at least change for once with the high rate of bribery going on there.

Opportunities dey everywhere,just pray for God to direct your path to the right people and places and surely u will make it.
Work is not readily available here and to be sincere same in other countries especially if you going to study cause its hard to do both.
Wish you all already here luck and those coming but the truth be said,studying abroad is not cheap so if your people dont have the cash i advice you dont come at all unless you coming to work full time and just use school as means to get the visa.
Many people went to usa last summer to work and the stories on number of work they do per day just to make sure they return with good cash then you know its not easy anywhere....

Information to all new students coming to North Cyprus,they do drugs here and be careful when someone you dont know very well ask you to bring something for them from Nigeria cause it might be drugs or weed package very well for you not to know but its hard not to be detected at the airport. Lot of Nigerians are in the prison now in lefkosa serving their term cause of drugs.
This is not Nigeria where you can get away with almost anything.....As of last week a Nigerian that was caught with weed last month(Currently in the prison)is being negotiated to be released by his lawyer with 50,000TL(That's approximately 4.2million naira).
A word is enough for the wise.

@ Penrol ...i am not going to engage in a debate or an argument with you.i have been to a couple of other European countries and comparing here with these other countries is a NO NO for me. are there job opportunities for you to make that money you just converted as lil' as the conversion rate is to you?Students pay equal and unbearable tax with their own citizens on everything you buy ,food stuffs,school fees , housing ,light and water bills when the government is fully aware that students don't have jobs to do here .cost of living is very high here despite the fact that there are no jobs here while standard of living is low.your folks or you yourself must be well to do to survive and sustain yourself here ...except you are in into some kind of shady deals(side runs)... If you want me to continue.. i am all here !!!

You have been to a couple of other European countries maybe on visit not to live or study as you are doing here now so you might not know much about things there cause as far as i know in terms of tax as you said,here is far more better than other European countries.
Well as not to derail from the topic at hand as Ilodigweudoka said,better we drop it but my point is if you think things are hard or costly for you dont give that mindset to others as well cause it might not be to them.

And before i forget am not into any kind of shady deals and guess few people that have met me in person from this thread can tell you better about myself....and who tell you there is no work here,when u ready to work you will see and if you think its hard to get one here so it is in other European countries and even Nigeria as well.

When you say things are expensive and to be precise everything as you said,do you mind elaborating on that your statement?
A country where one of their currency is 83 to naira and you converting your money to buy things here,do you expect it to be same with Nigeria?
If you say things are expensive here then what will you say about usa that a dollar to naira is 160 and uk that one punds to naira is 250.
Well depends on your definition of expensive but to me things are cheap here.
Here with a thousand teller,it can take you a long way and even buy u lot of things.....if you working and paid 1300tl a month you can get a laptop with it with just a month salary but in naija and u paid 30k a month,dont u know how many months salary you will add just to get a laptop?
Well wish you guys luck that see here as a dry place but dont give others same mentality as you have all because you dont like the place and want others to see it the way you do.

No where in the world you will find a cheap school to do medicine only if you consider going to free tuition countries of which you must learn their language.
Wip is not replying your message cus he believe you should know better.....you can shift to related medical courses if you wish cus its cheaper there.

STUDENT VISA APPLICATIONS



(including students traveling to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, students traveling for language training purposes, students wishing to study in Turkey and other countries)



1. At least 6 months valid passport, with enough blank pages for visa sticker (to be seen and returned to the applicant until the approval of application),



2. Copies of the relevant pages of the passport (data and extension pages),



3. Duly filled visa application form,



4. One (1) passport-size photograph,



5. Admission and Acceptance Letter by the University,



6. Payment receipt of school fees,



7. Confirmation letter from the school acknowledging receipt of payment,



8. If the travel purpose is language training, the certification of language course issued by the Turkish Ministry of Education,



9. Proof of basic education, copies of graduation diploma and certificates (W.A.S.C., S.S.C.E., Statement of Result, etc.) duly signed and approved by the Federal Ministry of Education and the Ministy of Foreign Affairs thereafter,



10. Proof of BA education, copy of university graduation diploma duly signed and approved by the Federal Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs thereafter.(For master students),



11. Guarantee letter signed by the sponsor and the student, stating that the sponsor will cover all the expenses of the student, and that the student will never apply to any person or institution (including university) for financial support or scholarship, certified by a notary public,



12. A copy of “Certificate of Company Incorporation” of the sponsor,



13. A copy of certificate of income tax clearance of the sponsor,



14. Original “personal” bank statement for the last three months of the sponsor together with original approval/reference letter from the bank branch manager





NOTE: Students who will study in countries other than Turkey are granted with one-month valid transit visas.

@everybody in the house,pls do not mind my curiosity but see it as an avenue to assist ur brother ,incase ur sponsor is a civil servant but couldn't find his appointment letter,is it going to be an obstacle in the embassy,
secondly,must the sponsor use his salary account or can he just use any account like savings account.
Thirdly,where ur sponsor is a business man,must he provide tax certificate.pls assistooooooooooo,tanx

AS to your questions.
1. Did they mention in the visa requirements for you sponsor to provide his appointment letter...please u all should ask reasonable questions not just anything u think or feel like....soon such questions will be ignored.
2.your sponsor can use any account as long as it belongs to him and there is good amount of cash in there or the cash flow is okay
3.If he is the owner of the business and if a registered business,he must provide that.

Its a requirement if he is the owner of the company or business so you cant leave it behind unless otherwise

You need to book an appointment but from information i gathered i find out those thieves calling themselves security can take you in even if you dont have appointment that day but with a huge ransom attached to it sha. SO if you thinking of going without having appointment that day then go with enough cash and you might be attended to.

Pls ,house,I need urgent reply to this,a sponsor to a friend of mine is his uncle who is a contractor with a registered company and has everything but the things that pose threat to my friend are,
1..he does not bear the same surname with his uncle.
2...the tax certificate and clearance is not up to date.that's it doesn't tally with current date 2013.

As to your questions:
1. it doesn't if same surname or not but he should have good reason to back it up
2. Then that means he has not paid tax this year or from the last expiring date so its a threat to him/her....but if the date of expiring is last year 2012 then no problem with that.

You have to get your confirmation letter before asking if you name have been sent to the embassy,so one step at a time...una wan kill the guy self.
when you get your confirmation letter then wait at least a week before u ask if you name has been sent.

You dont have any problem with the bank statement since the cash flow is okay. you will get the visa as long as you meet the other requirements.

Temas: That is if the ticket is refundable(check with the airline if the ticket u buying is refundable cos some arent)..... the price difference between one way and return isn't that much, so y disturb urself abt one way. like penroll55 said if u arnt lucky with naija immigration(with one way ticket) hmmmm u will buy return ticket again at the airport and they will still extort you......

let me give some clue here for first time travelers abt refund ticket (Turkish air)..

1.Its best to buy a refundable return ticket with ur naija master card (if accepted on their site). otherwise go to their sales office and buy with the master card. dnt pay cash.. this way when u cancel ur return ticket here in kibris, u will have to call Turkish airline Istanbul and to cancel ur return ticket and ask for refund... the money will b sent to ur MasterCard account bingo!!

2. If you pay with cash in their sales office (e.g lagos adeola odeku vi). Ask the sales person u need the ticket with refund.Go with any of ur relative and tell them he / she will be the one to process the refund on ur behave..
In kibris, cancel ur ticket at lefkosa sales office, ask for refund. they will scan ur ticket , int passport, identification of the person to collect the refund in Nigeria(e.g ur relative, friend), application letter written by you for refund, stating the name of the person and the mode of identification. these will be sent to Nigeria and your relative will follow up with the Lagos sales office. trust me this process is hell.....(My case)

3.Buy from a reliable agent. most agent has a commission on return ticket not used!(sorry for bursting ur bubbles) they will make ur life difficult to get ur refund. a friend got his ticket from wakanow.com (nt sure of the name) and he was able to get his refund.. but hell...

Am not saying all airline refund,thats why i specify it clearly saying turkish airline.
If its turkish airline,all return ticket is refundable if requested before it expires.

You can book one way ticket with turkish airlines and have no problem in instanbul or ercan but most times Nigeria immigration officers use it as means to extort money from first time travelers.So the only place you might have a problem is in Nigeria Airport but if u are sharp and smart you will go with it without giving them anything cus its none of their concern if you going with one way or not.
So if you dont plan going back soon then one way is okay for the smart ones though but if you dont have mind or scared easily when threaten then buy at least a month return ticket and you can cancel the ticket and request for refund of the return ticket and turkish airline will give you back.
