YourhealthNG2: Thank you so much for this advice. I'll get a toks radiator cap and fix.
But first, the mechanic says the top gasket is damaged already because of multiple episodes of overheating. So I've told him to get all that is required and fix a new top gasket.
Meanwhile, is it true that coolant is not compatible with new radiator? The new radiator, I was told, is the original and aluminium type. But the mechanic said pouring in coolant will spoil it (I usually use total coolant and I do not add ordinary water).
Meanwhile I hope your mechanic knows that after changing top gasket, you shouldn't put water immediately. The engine should run for some minutes b4 adding water.
YourhealthNG2: The car is Toyota sienna 2007. It was bought as Tokunbo barely 2 months ago but has not been used for once because of intractable overheating problem.
The car upon travelling a short distance will overheat and shut off. Sometimes it may start again after cooling down. Meanwhile, the temperature guage does not go up (we thought the guage was faulty initially and changed it).
We have virtually exhausted all options - changed top gasket, changed 2 top cylinders, replaced the radiator with a new one, replaced the water pump with a new one, bypass thermostat, replace fuel pump, etc.
The car is located in Enugu.
Please I need help from experts or contact of experienced technician on this problem in Enugu or south-east.
Have you checked the water pump? Radiator cap? Also bypass the heater core, sometimes it gets blocked and doesn't allow water to pass.
NinjaMetahuman: accelerating and decelerating is actually good for electric cars..
There is something called regenerative braking, most electric cars have it. Everytime you decelerate, your battery gains charges. (Google regenerative braking for more details)
As for ac, the consumption is usually very minimal. Atleast on popular brand.
GloShare: Hmmmm, this thread is exposing lots of illiterates.
It takes 9 hours to charge fully.
A full battery can do 400+km
That means just 2 hours charge should be able to do almost 100km.
How many people do 100km daily to work and back home?
This means this can work even when you have poor electricity.
A bare minimum of 2hrs charge at home or at work and you're good to go.
You have a point, but have you forgotten that a journey of 13km in Lagos might take you 6hrs cos of traffic. I hope the battery can last up to 12hrs or more.
HABRUZZY: Good afternoon i am having issues with my Car Ac 2007 toyota camry v6 it was working/cooling well and all of a sudden it stopped then i reach out to all this guys that sell gas for cars they refilled it and it worked for few mins and stopped now it blows just air/heat please what could be the issue
The issue is serious leakage. Find a competent AC person to look into it asap.
realphatphem: Good morning car gurus in the house, Please is it advisable to repair a leaking Camry 2000 steering rack? Leakage rate is getting high as I now top steering fluid every third day. Need your input please. Thanks.
Plugoflagos1: Is it advisable to buy a car that the Ac compressor needs replacement?
Just know that if a car dealer tells you the AC just needs gas, that means there is a leakage somewhere in the system. There's nothing wrong with buying a car with compressor fault. Just know that you will spend minimum of 40k to fix the AC
Teextoo: Hello Guys, I need your help and advice on what to do about my 09 toyota corolla (south african version) ac compressor. My car's ac compressor has been burning repeatedly since mid November last year and am on the 4th compressor now which was changed on 18th December with an adapted 507 new compressor as last resort on advice of the technician; to my chagrin, it burnt on 26th December almost setting the engine on fire after burning out the belt. So I decided to let it rest and drive without ac till the christmas festivities are over. Now, I would have loved to scrap the car but it's a manual transmission and am enjoying it. Please Nairalanders, help me out cos I have always bragged to my friends who are none members that there is no issue in this world that you guys can't handle. Thanks
Normally when you change compressor you should also change the drier bottle and condenser. A thorough flush of the system is also advisable, cos when a compressor knocks it circulates some metallic particles through the system. Finally change your technician.... 4 compressors in less than a year is a no no.
aieromon: Competent AC Techs are very few. I haven't tried out the product yet but I do believe it can solve tiny leaks based on the reviews I have come across.
How's your training so far?
Going on well. Everyday is a new experience. There are lots of things I would have done differently. Hoping to buy my vacuum pump soon so I can start fully.
lwise: I have tried and tried, even to order from Amazon but I couldn't get it. It doesn't ship to Nigeria. Does anyone have an idea on how to get this product in Nigeria. Thanks
Question: is it advisable to use this product? It's always better to take your car to a competent AC tech to check for leaks and carry out necessary repair. Many AC sites on the internet advise against using it.
ChangedMan1999: Please, my voters card fell from my pocket, while I was on an Okada and I just want to ask if there is any negative implication for it?

Is Honda Civic 2006 fuel consumption better than corolla 04??
Between Toyota corolla 04 and Honda Civic 06, which is stronger body wise. I may be be wrong o, but I have come to notice the body of Toyota tend to remain fit and strong over a long time.
There is this opinion that Honda civic usually developed gear problem unlike Toyota corolla; is it true?
levelup48: I have #700,000, and I need a Toyota corolla 2004 model that is accident free, sharp & clean enough to engage in either Uber or Taxify. Please, kindly help a brother.
I understand very well that the price is usually more than this; but that is all I have right now, and I can't really push further if I still want to survive.
I am very hopeful I will meet a good person here who is willing to help me.
I am currently resident in Benin city, but I am open to help from any part of the country
In case you want to contact me personally, this is my WhatsApp: 08138003806
@Mod please, kindly help me push this, please.
Sorry, this budget won't buy 2004 model. It can buy 1999 model though.
From mkpokiti heading to Esut, before you get to that car stand there's a gate by your left. I've forgotten the name of that workshop, but if u ask anyone around there they will show u. The guy deals on high-end exotic cars.
