Investment / Re: CBN Warns Nigerians Against “MMM”, Calls It Wonder Bank by PEREP: 9:36am On Sep 16, 2016
Boleyndynasty2:
One thing i still don't understand about this MMM is how they make the 30% they give everyone. Cause even people who ask for help don't pay back with interest so how do they make profit and also get 30% to pay everyone?

MMM has no central account and as such not the one paying you. Other members pay when you need help

For example;

You indicate you can Give Help of 40k (Based on your risk level).
Someone who Helped someone else with about 30k before you pledged will request help of 40k
You will give that person 40k while you also wait to request Help of maybe 52k
Someone else (more than 1 person in some cases) waiting to provide help is informed to pay you

And the cycle continues

Can't wait for this day to come..This wil put to rest all the controversies surrounding the real Aisha Buhari being fingered in the haliburton's scandal.
For Fayose;
If he is right: the whole world will respect him for saying the truth
If wrong: Posterity will never forgive him tarnishing the good name of Ekiti (Fountain of knowledge) which he has ridiculed before the whole world..
Fingers crossed

She can go na. She will just use diplomatic passport and dat covers all.

This case was mentioned over 6 years before PMB became president and in all those years, she avoided the US. These are the instances fueling speculations
Politics / Re: Federal High Court Affirms Ikpeazu As Governor by PEREP: 5:10pm On Jul 08, 2016
seunmsg:

Two different cases here. It is only the appeal or the supreme court that can reverse the decision of Justice Okon Abang of the federal high court and not another judge of a coordinate court. This new decision has absolutely no effect on the earlier decision of Justice Okon Abang. Ikeazu remains removed as the governor of Abia state until a higher court rules otherwise.

This case is not an Appeal of the Abuja ruling but another case entirely. Now we have two judgements on the same issue with different views. The Appeal in the Imo case is for Mr Nwosu to Pursue while Gov Ikpeasu will follow up on the Appeal involving the Federal High Court Abuja

While it is good to feed the poor, I am really pained the children were indoctrinated into this inhumane style of lining up to pick N400 from their representative at the Senate. Now they see it as the norm and makes the work of liberating these minds from mediocrity more difficult.

When are we going to set our kids up for world class innovations? When will they get 2m for inventing a new way of doing things? When will they start getting the right challenge from our political class?

Business / Re: Banks In Competitive Forex Trading As Demand For School Fees, Others Shrink by PEREP: 4:12pm On Jul 04, 2016
[quote author=Built2last post=47199671]My people!!!

How can we report banks to CBN for their terrible and ridiculous card rates.

These guys buy Dollars from CBN at 283-286 and you use your card outside Nigeria. banks want to cut your neck.

The cheapest card rate I know now is Standard chartered and Stanbic IBTC other banks charge as high as 320-340.

How can we report them to CBN to check this crazy charges.[/quote

The CBN need to release the hold they have on card pricing or else banks will also run into trouble on Card transactions. The amount charged to your card is not just the USD to Naira rate.

For example, every transaction abroad on an ATM is @ $1.75-$2.25 while CBN insisted on N240 for International ATM withdrawal.
Another example is the switching rates paid on MasterCard/VISA transaction routing which is @ about $1.20 whether it is financial or not. That is, if you do a balance enquiry, the banks are paying
For Balance enquiry itself, banks pay 0.25USD per transaction and trust Nigerians, we just do it without caution and CBN would not allow banks to charge for this

The final amount charged to card is not just a rate of Naira to USD. Card transaction is different from BDC. BDC arrangement have all the party in one location and no added cost incurred while card transactions involve the owner of the terminal, the routing companies in and out of Nigeria, the bank's routing companies acting as TPP and all other banking expenses to facilitate card transaction.

Politics / Re: Ikpeazu Tax Clearance Is Not Fake! - Abia IRS Says by PEREP: 11:49am On Jul 04, 2016
Gozzzy:
this is Nigeria, and this is Abia state we are talking about... This TA Orji's family and desperate Ngwa people we are talking about... I tell you, they can go to BIR and IRS and coerce the officials to draft a statement confirming authenticity of any document no matter how falsified and oluwoleish it may be, so as to thwart justice in their favour. Anyone that has been close to Ngwa people, will tell you that those people are capable of anything!!! Have they admitted to kidnapping the cj NGWA AND TA ORJI, CAN DO ANYTHING OUT OF DESPERATION.

Are you saying he was responsible for the remittance of his PAYE himself? If No, then why should he be punished for any remittance issues?
Are you saying the board of Internal Revenue did not issue a Tax Clearance? If No, pls provide your proof

This case is too simple to be this complicated. The Judge erred by leaving out the Abia State BIR before final judgement. This is like a police prosecuting a man for presenting a failed cheque because my signature was irregular without contacting me as the Cheque owner. I am the only one who can say if I issued the cheque or not.

This is why International Community laugh at us all the time.

Please I need clarity on this court judgement.

Is this an election related matter not submitted for Tribunal or how come a court continued a proceeding against a sitting governor who enjoys immunity?

If this is possible, someone should please educate few of us who are not lawyers and do not understand this ruling.

They were even singing and chanting

If you follow APC propaganda, one can miss heaven because they are Mostly lies. The guys protesting called themselves Anti Corruption crusaders formed within the week.

Let them continue cos we know how they mortgage Ekiti future for the next 30 years and the workers can see the Governor mean well.

Did anyone notice that almost all the newly elected governors are working..e.g ambode, obiano etc.

but fayose is only the noise maker...one year in office cutting ponmo and owing his workers salary and using ekiti funds for sponsored news on blogs and newspapers...

This same mindset pushed Fayemi (former governor) of Ekiti to borrow almost 3B for government house construction. When a clerk wants to ride the same car like his MD, he will only live the rest of his life in sorrow.

This is the story of Osun state, Ekiti state and many other states of the federation. They are heavily encumbered.

Politics / Re: Masses Stage Anti-Corruption Protest In Ado-Ekiti by PEREP: 2:35pm On Jun 24, 2016
Majlaw:
On the 20th June 2014, Ex-Gov. Rotimi, Ex. Gov Kwankwaso, Gov. Oshiomhole, & Gov. Wamako all were barred from attending Fayemi's campaign in Ekiti State.

On the 11th of July 2013, the Military personnel attached to Ex. Gov Rotimi Ameachi were all withdrawn leaving a sitting governor at the mercy of Mbu's boys.

On the 12th of Sept. 2013, the convoy of Gov Rotimi Ameachi was prevented from entering govt house by police who blocked his entrance, as per "Order from above".

The above infringements on the fundamental right of a sitting Governor happened while he was a governor with immunity, apart from his right to free movement & association as a Nigerian.

Lest I forget, those rights of his were infringed upon, mind you not for ECONOMY CRIME, but political . Yet, he suffered that much in the hands of the past government.

I dare anyone questioning the freezing of Fayose's account to refer me to any part of 1999 constitution where the constitution bars the anti graft agency from investigating or freezing the personal account of a sitting Governor or President who commits an economy crime against the state.
Emphasis on " investigate". Kindly refer me. I'm more than happy to read & learn.

Don't just wail your life out on ignorance, use this opportunity to teach us something new.
#Osquare78

Thought we were in a CHANGE era. Nigerians stood against the Federal government at the time and any form of rascality.

If we want the era of Obj where a sitting governor was abducted, then where is the change?

As it affects the placards I am seeing, I think Fayose will be part of this protest if it was not sponsored by APC who still think they got a say in the state.

The drama is unfolding and we are watching.

Fayose will be the first governor in Nigeria's history to be impeached TWICE.

Op, he looks worried, take a look at the 3rd and 6th picture, can you see happiness in him?

Besides, when governors like Ambode, Obiano, Ikpeazu are inspecting roads, flyovers, schools, the PONMO kutting bros is inspecting drainages.

Fayose is an indictment on the intelligent people of Ekiti.

Without drainages, what happens to the road? COLLAPSE!

For the last time I affirm that there was a court order. What Lere wants is to engage EFCC in dirty media fights forcing them to release the orders to the world. But that is childish.

Please Sir, you work for EFCC? If yes, tell us where the court order was issued and date it was gazette. You really know more than all of us.

Meanwhile, the courts will decide and the very recent case against Senator Nyako which Lere referred to is new and tells you how things should happen.

You may as well read Wole Olanipekun's position.

Please fault this logic!

“It is therefore strange that a SAN could tell Nigerians that EFCC can carry out an action first and obtain court order to justify the action later.

“If I may ask, was Falana called to the Bar before he attended Law School and passed his Call-To-Bar Exams? Was Falana’s LLB Certificate given to him before he got admission to the University?  Was Falana’s BL Certificate issued to him before he attended the Law School?  Was Falana’s Birth Certificate issued before he was born? Was Falana’s Marriage Certificate issued before he got married? Has Falana ever travelled to UK or USA and obtained Visa later? Can I, Lere Olayinka, because I can now quote some laws begin to practice as a lawyer and go to University to study law later?
