When u have a place like Borno, there should be a fighter jet that can do this Job. There will collateral damage but 200 insurgents will be gone.

As a nation, can we take dat decision with Nyako type of writeups?

When these communities and their leaders are tired, they will sell out BH and all of this will be history.

When will the war helicopters ordered be delivered sef?

When we spent 1B USD, the whole country almost went in flames meanwhile a US who is about X2 of Naija will spend 59 Billion USD this year alone on internal security yet what we want to see is a US kind of operation.

We don't have the capacity for what we want to see and the least is to support govt with all known info (by the locals) and Psychologically too. Our Posts should be looking at setting up a special volunteer donations for any of Widow/family that suffer loss to boost morale of the Men in Uniform.

They said all the guys coming up as suicide bombers will have 7 virgins, what will these young girls have?
I have a feeling they are pressured to do this or they are killed.
Security agents should start scouting for guys giving young girls instructions around these public places. Also public announcements in Hausa should start going out on how girls in this category can get swift response and they should be moved to a safe haven immediately.

Every street in Kano need some immediate check by security informants and SSS/Police in plain clothes while 112 (SSS line) is immediately publicized. These guys have to be sold out to run back to Sambisa forest where they will soon be bombarded.

I know SSS guys have access to this platform and the least we can go for them is to keep suggesting possible ways to WIN this war and not playing the Ethnic, Political or Reliigion cards

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Replies Obasanjo, Says letter Is Self-Serving, Provocative by PEREP: 5:06pm On Dec 12, 2013
manmade: This is a case of history repeating itself Muse ( Archives) :
THE RESIGNATION OF AUDU OGBEH,
PDP CHAIRMAN
Reuters
Monday, January 10, 2005
Audu Ogbeh, PDP Chairman,
resigns
By CAMILLUS EBOH
Audu Ogbeh told reporters he resigned
to ensure the People's Democratic Party
(PDP) would "remain stable without
crisis", but senior party members said he
was forced out by Obasanjo who could
not take his scathing criticism.
Ogbeh's resignation, which takes effect
from Feb. 28, came after weeks of horse-
trading by senior PDP members who had
wanted to save the party chief.
"We are all very upset. Obasanjo's
intolerance is a very bad sign. We are
scared that we are moving towards
tyranny," said a senior PDP member who
had supported Ogbeh.
Politicians and analysts said Ogbeh's
letter, dated Dec. 5 and published in the
local press, reflected widespread
frustration with Obasanjo whose election
in 1999 ended 15 years of military rule
in the poverty-ravaged oil exporting
nation.
Obasanjo's economic reform programme,
which has received the informal backing
of the International Monetary Fund, has
failed to lift most Nigerians out of
poverty. Corruption has remained
endemic five years after his first
election, despite a high profile campaign
against graft.
Ogbeh drew a parallel between
Obasanjo's government and that of
Shehu Shagari, sacked in a coup in 1983
after four years in office, and warned the
president was heading in the same
direction.
Ogbeh's letter also outlined the situation
in southeast Anambra state where police
stood by in November as political
militants torched government buildings
and shot at the governor's convoy during
three days of rioting.
Angered by the stark warning, Obasanjo
threatened Ogbeh with investigation by
the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission.
Analysts say the Anambra crisis reflects
poorly on Obasanjo beacuse he had
withdrawn police protection from
governor Chris Ngige, who is locked in a
bitter power struggle with his estranged
political patron, Chris Uba. Uba's brother
is one of the president's closest aides.
Anambra is one of more than a dozen
states where there was widespread
rigging in the 2003 general elections,
which returned Obasanjo for a second
term in office.
Earlier in October, one of Africa's most
prominent literary icons, Chinua Achebe,
rejected a national honour from the
Nigerian government citing the political
crisis in his home state of Anambra.
Civil rights groups have accused
Obasanjo, a former military ruler, of
running a "civilian dictatorship" in
Africa's most populous nation, a charge
the president denies.
This is Obasanjo to say the least. The drama continues and the Confab is a good weapon to address all the inequalities been experienced by Nigerians. Like Aruleba of AIT said today, 'Are we sure this is not borne out of loyalty issue

hardywaltz: Exposing corruption of this magnitude does not require any protocol.
If this were in saner climes the country citizens will all be on the street demanding the resignation and prosecution of GEJ and all his fellow clueless thieves in partner.
In sane countries, they will investigate and confirm if NNPC was meant to remmit all the money or just a percentage as pointed out by NNPC. It is a servant mentality to simply believe the negative without verifications.
GEJ has made it clear for over a year that oil theft is on the rise and there has been massive investments to give capacity to the Navy and JTF among others.
The opposition will go to any lenght to discredit this govt and no matter the gang up, it ll not hold.

daRealest: It is dangerous to loose the support of 7 governors ahead 2015..GEJ knows that!
Brother, the divide and rule will never fail in such instance. They simply look for someone who does not like the face of Mr Governor in such states and put the machineries of the party to favour him.
In Kano state for example, Abacha's Son has been won to the side of Bamanga Tukur with a Caretaker PDP committee. The strategy is to support Abacha against any candidate from Kwankaso in 2015. I know Abacha is loved in Kano and with Mustapha from same place, Kwankwaso will be buried.

In Rivers state, the GDI is already on ground and they are giving Amaechi a bitter pill he can't swallow at all.

In Jigawa State, the Governor's sons are already in the spotlight to discret his candidacy for Presidency.

In Niger State, Jerry Gana is the weapon been used to get the required 25% vote.

In Kwara State, there is already a splinter group in PDP who gave their allegiance to Tukur team with further moves to discredit Bola Saraki (already answering case in court)

In Sokoto and Adamawa, the final strategy is been finalized based on recent happenings.

All of this will only take TIME to mature and that is what is required here.

It is going to be a big drama going to 2015 polls.

Meanwhile, APC is Ekiti is already divided, Ondo belong to LP, Osun of Raufu and Oyinlola looks almost impossible, Oyo state is not know for two term governors, and Lagos State is always open for a first term governorship race.

Logically from his statements, its obvious he and his gangs are trying to cause mayhem on the arrival of APC leaders in the state. Also, he accused the Governor of giving out 500 million of state fund to rent crowd. He should understand the Governor Amaechi has more grass root support than any one of them in Rivers state. Not even GEJ, wike, himself Obuah, Evans Bipi etc can match Amaechi's grass root support in Rivers state. I say none them at all.

The big issue for me here is the fact that she cannot approve more than 100M per time but the BMW is above dat. From NCAA, they wrote to Ministerial tender board cost the total commitment per year is less than 100m (when 225M was divided by 3 yrs)

omenka: 1. In the history of NCAA, has the life of any of their visitors been made attempt on to necessitate the purchase of armored
vehicleshuh

Until there is an attempt which will put Nigeria in the bad light or even sanctioned before Govt should start running like Headless chickenhuh

2. The evidence of the bank statement of coscharis motors regarding this transaction as provided by Saharareporters (which coscharis hasn't denied) indicates that the purchase of the vehicles was through any means but "Lease Financing". Can she clarify that??

Fund movement will be between First bank and Coscharis while NCAA get the cars. Clarification lies with First bank therefore.

3. Was the purchase of the said "specialized security vehicles" approved in the ministry's budget as passed by the national assemblyhuh

She has quoted where the fund was approved. Check the explanation again. Is that kind of spending from IGR allowed for a parastatal?

4. Who were the other auto dealerships available at the bidding?? Was the quotation of coscharis the most competitive?
Competitiveness and value for money are two different things? Remember Fashola went for a Bulletproof Jeep of 200 Million each not because of just competitveness buh value for money (just an example)

5. We believe the other parastatals under the ministry receive foreign visitors from time to time as well?? Following your logic, they would be needing similar vehicles for their guests wouldn't they, madam ministerhuh

Which Parastatal is thathuh FAAN

PoliticsRe: Rivers Crisis-NANS Gives FG 14days Ultimatum by PEREP: 5:36pm On Jul 23, 2013
This ultimnatum should go to the Rivers Assembly and Mr Governor

The Lawmakers arrogated powers to themselves to sack a duly elected Local Government Chairman and expect everyone to praise them to high heavens

The governor lost the majority of the PDP state executives through the courts and feels he has no duty to remain aboard any faction to work with his party

The Governor through his aides and Lawmakers feel the 5 lawmakers who they know cannot proceed on an impeachment move should be killed

The Governor is the Cheif Security Officer of the state and should come up as a statesman to accomodate everyone within his state and stop asking the Federal Government to come and put out a fire he is fueling every other day by his conducts and comments.

At the centre stage, he holds the post of NGF Chairman, Print Ballot papers himself, conduct his own election and declare himself winner when 18 governors have again and again confirmed they belong to Jang faction. where then is the 19 votes coming from.
He called for Fuel subsidy to be removed and stayed clear when the heat came. He canvassed against State of Emergency when everyone know it is a VERY good way out.

Let Amaechi know he is not above everybody and his excesses can be checked.

I berate the First lady however for openly accusing the Governor and that is condemnable in his entirety.

There are sympatizers to the course of Mr President when it comes to the perceived ambition of Amaechi . Ifound it amuzing thatt99% of comments exonerated onthis thread does not see anything wrong in the Governor's aide beating up an elected lawmaker. It is no sin for the Pro-Amaechi lawmaker to have smashed the maze on another lawmaker's head but it is GROSS sin for the president to show his displeasure about the actions of Amaechi even if he slap him over and over again.
I keep wondering what Tinubu will do if Fashola had come forward to support the State of Emergency against the stand of ACN and went further to have a meeting with the President thereafter.

Rhino.4dm:
The popular opinion here in PH is tilted in favour of Amaechi. You can help yourself out by tuning into any of these radio stations. Nigeria Info, CoolFm, Wazobia and, what have you.

Most callers are now asking what good has Jonathan's presidency brought to south south and Rivers State. The nearest possible time to deliver the east west road at this snail's speed could be around 2020. You may want to start telling us why any sensible rivers state indegene should leave a man that physically transformed their state for someone with zero presence even in his Village. Your propaganda can only work on people browsing from thousands of miles away.
Amaechi has tried but can it be compared to Akwa Ibom (from what we have read so far though) even when PH has more potential in terms of IGR compared to Akwa Ibom? What is the state of the mono rail been constructed? He has built schools and I love him for that.

Sir, did you read or watched the ground breaking of General Electrics (GE) Manufacturing plant to be constructed in Calabar? It was on the news two days ago. Do you know what that means to South South? Is East west road been constructed and is it part of the programmes of this administration? The answer is yes and with more funding been arranged by the same government as confirmed by Okonjo, that road will be completed before 2014.

The University at Otueke in Bayelsa must have been situated by OBJ for the callers in the purported programmes to have said his village is not feeling him.

Do you have a documentary on Alaoji Power plant (the NIPP that will generate over a thousand Megawatt) to understand what Jonathan influenced to continue the work even when Yaradua stopped all NIPPs. How they had to do a special dredging to transport the plants?

Jonathan is not perfect but he is the first President without a Political Dynasty and any Military backing and that is why I love Sen Smart Adeyemi's comment to Asiwaju Tinubu captured below;

“Senator Tinubu sir, I am, however, shocked that someone of your pedigrees will be devoting his political acumen for the service of a non democrat. Someone who had truncated democracy in the past….”

“I want to assure you, Asiwaju, that there is a president in Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, who has fought more battles than any other Nigerian leader in the name of terrorism.
“In 2012, the budget for security was N900 billion; that money is enough to dualise all major roads in Nigeria. It is enough to equip our universities. If that money had entered some African countries, it would cripple the economy, but it was committed to security because of terrorism.

“Goodluck Jonathan can be likened to a pilot who took off and suddenly entered into turbulence. With patience and perseverance, he weathered the storm. Today, he has reached the cruising level and he is cruising towards 2015. I believe you should be with this president as a democrat and not with a dictator.”

If he has no confidence in the Police Commissioner, it won't take anything to change him and I am sure Mr President won't hesitate that in the interest of River State People but I doubt if any other commissioner will not give details of security meeting to the AIG, DIG and IG who reports to the same Abuja 'Politicians' Amaechi feel he is not comfortable with.

Have you read this piece from Soyinka sir? If no, I will recommend the Memoir to know that punishing Nigerians by recruits of roads is not fighting corruption.

The story of the thirty something suitcases – it would appear that
they were even closer to fifty – found unavoidable mention in
my recent memoirs, YOU MUST SET FORTH AT DOWN,
written long before Buhari became spoken of as a credible
candidate. For the exercise of a changeover of the national
currency, the Nigerian borders – air, sea and land – had been
shut tight. Nothing was supposed to move in or out, not even
cattle egrets.
Yet a prominent camel was allowed through that needle’s eye.
Not only did Buhari dispatch his aide-de-camp, Jokolo – later to
become an emir – to facilitate the entry of those cases, he
ordered the redeployment – as I later discovered – of the
Customs Officer who stood firmly against the entry of the
contravening baggage. That officer, the former Vice-president is
now a rival candidate to Buhari, but has somehow, in the
meantime, earned a reputation that totally contradicts his
conduct at the time. Wherever the truth lies, it does not redound
to the credibility of the dictator of that time, General Buhari
whose word was law, but whose allegiances were clearly
negotiable.

Adex097: 7 hospitals for a population of close to 0.5 billion people *smh*

Do we all need a transplant? I know I don't need one.

I am patiently waiting for Reuben Abati's response.
Why will Abati respond to a Star who stays most of her life in Lagos? A Lagos where you keep paying for everything and get almost NOTHING. A lagos where everybody believe nothing is free and one is not surprised because the Govt in Lagos does not beleive he owes any repsonsibility to the Lagosians without getting them to pay through the nose.

Everything is taxed from when it is at the raw stage to when they turn out to be finished products. They are even coming up with entertainment tax to ensure the consumption process is not also free. KILODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I pay rent through the nose, send kids to school paying 'Killer fees' cos the state government schools are not in the best shape, LASU sef na no go area considering the fees. Did anyone notice the UNILAG students complaining of getting subjected to high standard of living?

If Omotola is frustrated, ask Mr Fashola and all his MDAs in Lagos.

Na God fit help person here.
PoliticsRe: Wamakko Calls PDP Chairman Bamanga Tukur A ‘political Prostitute', May Join APC by PEREP: 1:41pm On Jun 13, 2013
kulikuli26: its obvious you are not a keen follower of northern politics, how can you even list sokoto, kano or even kebbi as states where their governors don't control the party structure in the state even adamawa will be a total giveaway to APC by the time the crisis between NYAKO and TUKUR is not resolved because ACN is strong there and with the support of CPC PDP will be totally chased out of the state......WAKE UP BRO!!!!
Nyako is finding it difficult in Adamawa because his political base is been eroded by the day and He knows it. Kano state governor has not have it the best with the staunch opposition he has in Shekarau followers and as such He cannot lay claim to a good political base.

All the PDP at the centre need do is a viable opposition for Wammako in Sokoto PDP who is capable of getting his current supporters to himself and the rest will be history but like the President is moving as at today's dailies, he is not ready to go that route yet until there is a viable person who can stand any situation in Sokoto Politics and in other states.

All the drama is just unfolding but the PDP structure in Plateau State, Gombe State, Katsina State, Bauchi State, Adamawa State, Nassarawa State, Borno State (with the current SOE gains), Yobe State (SOE), Kebbi State, Zamfara State, Kogi State, Kwara State,Benue State, Ekiti, Lagos,Ondo, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Imo, Enugu, Anambra, Ebonyi,Abia, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross Rivers, Edo and Akwa Ibom will likely vote for a Jonathan ticket. I am not also ruling out the possibility of passing a single term of 6 years that will shift elections for governors and Presidents to 2017 thereby giving the North Automatic ticket on PDP platform.
Whatever happens, the drama will be too DRAMATIC for words.

jr101: Oh Abati! I dont really blame the man, i just pity him, d highest he can stay in aso rock is 8years, then he is coming back to meet us. He should know that Nigerians dont forget tinx easily, where is Aondooaka today, d former AGF that said yar adua can rule from anywhere in the world. People like him dont know d extent of the damage to their personality. Where is Femi Fani Kayode today

I know that d first thing he will do after leaving his job will be to release a book or memoir narrating his experience, just like Segun Adeniyi. I hope he will not be an accidental public spokesman (apologies to el rufai)
Abati is testing his perception and people management skills and he must have learnt how easy it is to be on the driver's seat. He is used to pointing the accusing fingers and I can infer he is not fully ripe for the kind of job he is doing now. It is always easy to say 'You can't do it', 'You are clueless', 'You acted inappropriately' and many more in that light but very difficult to actually do it, show clues, say the right words at the right time and act appropriately as expected per time. Only time will tell for many of us and I hope when the opportunity to drive finally comes, we won't 'blow it' outrightly.
