Ceramics, pottery, glasses, aluminium foil, metallic cages, disposable plastics, tiles, cartons etc; I have seen them populating the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and Sagamu.

My brother, congrats for what you have achieved. And I wish you more success and more gains in the NGX.
But let's stop being myopic in how we analyze public economic matters. The fact that you have made money under this govt does not mean majority of people or the masses are doing well under this govt. There are people who have made more than you have made, yet they are objective to acknowledge that majority are suffering under the policies of this govt.
Many people who had money have witnessed the value of their money eroded badly because of policies of this govt. The N250m is worth about $175k today; but it was worth about $500,000 before 2023!.

Your analogy is just like someone saying that Abacha's govt was generally very good because he made money or got contracts under the regime
You have made some points, but let us ask ourselves the question of why we are quick to use the dollar exchange rate when we see that there is some level of measurable progress. If he wanted to make dollars, would he invest in NGX? Evidently, no, he would have invested in the NYSE. So telling you that he made tangible profit in naira is valid and commensurate. While we are at it; are we now spending dollars in Nigeria? will he also convert the naira profit he made to dollars when he wants to buy land, buy houses, buy foodstuff, or pay for school fees and basic necessities? If he is paying naira, whose parity is far below that of the dollar, it is a gain for him.

Greetings I just registered for a Program with ABU DLC and online reviews brought me to this thread. I applied for MIAD International Affairs and Diplomacy) I hope I am making the right choice?

Please how many Months/Years is their Master's?

Also after successful completion, are we going to do our convocation?

Also, what about the certificate collection?

Sorry for the too many questions. 🙂

Looking forward to seeing your Response. Thank you 🙏
Hello,
I believe that it's a good decision based on the program flexibility. It takes about 18 to 24 months; depending on how fast you complete your dissertation.
Yes, on completion, you are expected to be at your convocation in Zaria but it's not compulsory.
On certificate collection, just like most schools, you are expected to collect your certificate in person at Zaria, typically 6 months to 1 year after graduation, though some people stayed longer to collect theirs in my set.

Hello,

I would like to know how long it takes now (after what your set experienced) to get the certificate and must we go to Zaria to collect it?
I have not heard much about the process recently but I know of someone who completed the program in 2022, and got the certificate within a year. She equally got it without going to Zaria but that was based on her personal arrangements.

Also, check your CSCS statement to confirm if it's there.
If you see it in your CSCS statement, you can forward it to your broker to add it to your trading portfolio.

Do not be quick to condemn Ote. If history is anything to go by, we should just be patient with him until he gets enough units. I believe Ote has all it takes to transform not just fbnh, but the entire banking sector( in terms of pricing lol)
Go and look at what he has done everywhere he has been(including his short stay in transcorp)
Just know when to leave cos he always leaves and it always crashes once he cashes out.

Them dey use our eps build new headquarters
Same Otedola gave some of us serious haircut when he sold Forte Oil to Ardova; some of us started all the way from when he acquired AP. Till date, that's still one of the major losses I have faced.

Why will they claim to have made #18 as EPS and willing to give shareholders just 60k; something doesn't seem right.

Firstly, I empathize with you and hope that you find it in your heart to make the best of the situation without losing hope.
I believe that what you mean by having lost your studentship is staying beyond the provisional years to complete your study. If this is so, go back to your school, ask for your unofficial transcript which will show all the courses you have taken and your grades. With your transcripts handy, find the nearest National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) closest to you to see if they can offer you admission while factoring your gained credits from the university you attended before. You may have to start from 200L or 300L but it is something and surely more flexible.
Wishing you all the best.

But Oando too no try; Since November 2014, not 1 dime dividend, yet the Board keeps collecting large emoluments year in-year out and even spent on a jamboree last December. The fundamentals seem missing as it is evidently chaperoned by cowboys, but like it has been consistently pointed out here, decision to buy, keep or sell, is individual, we don't need all the gbas gbos because most people holding Oando stocks are long timers who have recorded gains already on the share price.

We are all just waiting for our waiting period to be worth the while.

Thanks for offering to help —your support is amazing! 🙌 Adding news manually to the website could create extra stress in managing updates and maintaining simplicity while automating news will add complexity to the platform. For now, sharing news via social media might be a better, more efficient option in my opinion.
What about adding projections using historical variables and maybe TA. It will help identify shares that could be bought and those that could be sold. If you can to some extent project stocks that buying them will increase shareholders values, you will draw traffic to the site, and ultimately increase the value, till you get an offer to expand the functionalities.

By the way, good work!!

I am just bored that's why I tried to push back and I don't need to prove to you whether I am Igbo or not. Just like someone randomly doubting if you exist. Like stupid ✌️
I really empathize with you. Firstly, avoid the tribal drama playing out here - just focus on getting yourself and business back on track. In my opinion, leaving Lagos for the East, while a good emotional decision because of your loss, but business wise, you should have thought of 2 things - sustainability of whatever business you will be doing in the East and patronage
Your business in Lagos did not pick up one day and you equally didn't build your patronage in one day. Someone who has been doing business in the East has a better chance of sustainability and patronage than you hence will be better suited for the place. Your trying to pick up paid employment is obviously for you to meet up with your bills, but considering that you have been on the other end - earning money yourself without working for someone, the chances are that you won't be satisfied with whatever you earn as salary, except you get a very good job.

Now you have to decide on if you want to continue earning salary in your present work place, save up the money, start your business by the sides, in the East and weather the storm or return to Lagos, try to get a good job, save up money and leverage your former clientele to build up your business once again.

Wherever you choose to be, you will face some challenges, prepare mitigations for them, stay focused and hope for the best.

Examples:

(6x2) + 3 = 15
(5x2) - 2 = 8

15. (a x 2) + 6 = 16
a = (16-6)/2 = 5
(c)

15. (a x 2) + 6 = 16
a = (16-6)/2 = 5
(c)

16. (8 x 2) + 8 = 16 + 8
= 24
(A)

17. (a x 2) - 3 = 9
a = (9+3)/2 = 6
(B)

18. (4 x 2) + 3 = 8+3

19. (9 x 2) - a = 13
a = (18 -13 = 5

Hope the government will equally pay us rebates too when we make losses on stocks too; it should be a two way window.

Another thing is the tax on profits made from stocks is double taxation; the companies that made the profits were already taxed before paying dividends. As shareholders, we are part owners of the company, and our money was used to generate their earnings. If the government won't pay any part of the company's liabilities when it goes bankrupt, nor going to compensate us, why ask us to pay taxes on earnings that had already been taxed?

Nice work. However, I observed that you are using imperfect numbers that are just 1 value higher than a perfect square. 10 = 3² +1; 26 = 5²+1.

Let's try your method with say 12
√12 = 3¾ = 3+0.75 = 3.75
If you subtract 0.01 from it, you will have 3.65 which is not correct since √12 = 3.464.

Note: you need to state under what conditions your hypothesis stays valid.

What allowances? How many people are receiving the minimum wage in Nigeria. Even corp members were not paid last month. Don't deceive yourself, he's doing better than an average Nigerian, fuel price isn't stable in Nigeria. Those with cars can't drive, those driving are driving on a bad road. No tap water, power is irregular and unaffordable.

He goes home with nothing less than £2000 after tax in a month and can conveniently save £500 each month. Not considering those doing 2 jobs in this analysis

Mind you, that's African fish imported into the UK. Their home grown food and fruits are cheaper.
He is surely doing better than the average Nigerian on minimum wage like him but from his earnings, you didnt ask him about taxes. On £12 per hour and 10 hour work, he makes £120 per day. For even a 5 day work week, that is £600 per week. For a 4 week month, he earns £2400 per month and in 12 months, he earns £28,800 in a year.

On that amount, he pays 20% income tax, outside other taxes such as insurance, health, municipal, but let's stay with income tax; 20% is £5760.

Then, let us talk about rent, If he stays anywhere around London where accomodation is expensive, a studio apartment - what we call bedsitter here, is around £1000/1200 monthly in safe locations, if we go with the lower rent, annually he pays £12,000

Then utility bills will come in; power, internet, and maybe small groceries. Let's just put £150 on that per month, that's £1800 annually.

Now to the issue of transport and feeding, give or take, if he manages well, £200 should cover that monthly, implying that in one year, he would have spent £2400 on transport and food.

So what do we have left, outside other important necessities.
We have £28,800 - (£5760+£12,000+£1800+£2400) = £6840.

That's probably the highest he would save after a year's work if he us being very frugal. Unfortunately, that money can barely sustain him for 6 months if he is out of a work, in the UK where you rarely find anyone to aid or assist you, unlike here in Nigeria.

While he would obviously have a better sense of living in the UK than in Nigeria, he may end up frustrated after 2 to 3 years of staying within the same economic situation, which is not any different from what he ran away from.

The only bad I did is I decided to share information I got from someone here.who I had equally shared information on japaul from him here long ago.I never said buy hold or sell oando. I said he said I should not worry that oando will do 100 and I refused to mention the second figure so that it does not look I am marking oando.
And the only reason he gave me was because of the strong political will in support.
Infact he mentioned the kind amount I could not believe chasing oando. And because I want to be 100 % immune. I said I will pull out all money I did put in the gamble which is not even big.And if you go back in my early days in oando. I mentioned the amount and said it is what I can afford to loss if wale decided to delist at #7 plus and later increase it when I went for second batch.

I have integrity. And for my friend who want to bet.I will share all my oando dealings when I go and get the remaining print out to date here.If you have another request do make it
I suspect the second figure is 176; those using Data science predictive modelling are showing 176, but this is dependent on if all things continue being equal. If anything changes today, great will be the fall of Humpty Dumpty, but if nothing happens, even 176km cannot hold Oando down.

They could do that, but they haven't done it yet. And why didn't they do that for the Agip acquisition? Will Mr. Tanimu Yakubu and the two other entities that own over 73% of Oando agree to that?
At the time of the Agip acquisition, they didnt have the luxury of high share price and demand like this. They would have had to release higher number of units of the shares to raise the funds; it is technically cheaper then to get a loan from a bank than today that the share price is moving closer to #100 and adding that asset to the company's holding will make it more formidable.

I hope that they don't buy any of the refineries; I feel Tony Elumelu Heirs Oil will do better than them in the refineries, but if they choose to acquire it, funding won't be as much of a problem to them as you imagined.

Oando is already heavily indebted. For the purchase of Agip, they only placed about 10% or less in equity; the rest is debt. Even if they get the refineries for free, they will still have to spend millions of dollars they currently don't have. It's better not to commit to too many things. They should pay off the humongous debts first before pursuing other money sinks.

In my opinion, it will not be a good idea. There is only so much that family ties can do before others start protesting.
What if they use this high share price rally to raise funds through a preferential offer to acquire and revamp the refinery, do you think that they won't still be able to achieve the purported objectives?

Nice exposition and narrative; I however wish to point to an underlying assumption in your theory; the number of "below the barrel ladies" must be significantly low with the number of average guys aiming for them significantly higher for the "below the barrel ladies" to keep getting wooed by the guys. However, that's not the reality; the global male-to-female percentages show that there are approximately 101 males to 100 females in the world. For every 3 guys going for a "below-the-barrel" lady, almost 2 ladies are left without a suitor. In a bid to compete, some of them will attract the average guys and things will balance up. I see this theory as only plausible if there are higher male-to-female population.

Don't take this like a reprimand; I am actually rooting for you because I think you want to make it big in music. I, however, have to be sincere with you, Nigerian music has gone beyond this. Try and see those doing well in the industry today, they have good beats and, sometimes, good lines. Most develop danceable beats or party jams while others have very affable lyrics. All these are missing in what I just watched. I feel that you need to do more homework, get better beats, and work on the lyrics, and someday, you will blow. Wishing you all the best.
