His plan is after nysc he would go for masters and find his way.

He is 21 and currently serving (he’s field is IT)
But the issue is that his parent are trying to fine tune his head to stay (he’s the last born)

Their excuse is that
1) you would do menial jobs there
2) there is nothing there
3) even if you get a good job there, it’s difficult to rise as a black man
4) you will be lonely

Their main bone of contention is that there is nothing there.
Note: his dad and 4 other siblings out of 5 studied in the uk tho.

My friend doesn’t even want to stay atall, most of his friend are in the uk, he doesn’t have friends in Nigeria except a few. He doesn’t like going out because he said his mind is not in Nigeria. If you see him ehn you will know that he’s depressed. All he wants is to move to the uk.

I'll try to make this short.

Yesterday I was having a conversation with my fiancée about my mum's suggestion about how to go about our wedding which is scheduled to take place Jan next year. My mum suggested that we do both trad and white wedding on the same day to cut cost. She opined that we do the white wedding in the morning and hold the traditional marriage as a reception in the afternoon. I pretty much see reasons from her perspective considering the harsh economic condition in Nigeria.

I was relating this to my fiancée yesterday in a phone call, when she flared up and said I should have consulted her to seek her opinion on this marriage arrangement before going to my family to seek theirs because I said my mum's advise seems okay.

What I deduce from her plight was that she wants the trad marriage at the village (south-east) while the white at the town where we base (South-West). That was what I initially wanted but due to high inflation in the land, I'm actually tilting towards my mum advise because I can't go bankruptcy just because I want to satisfy her. Why not use a stone to kill two birds?

She wants a cream-de-la-cream kind of wedding but she's not ready to assist financially to make that happen. (she's an awaiting corper)

I told her that the cost of transportation and lodging people from the village (hers and mine) to the city for our white marriage alone is gulping about 500/600k. That's transportation & lodging alone ooo.. I'll now spend if not x2 of what I spent on trad for white.. Why not just do everything in the village and move on with our lives? We can actually have it in the village and it will still be all nice and glamourous.

She said she wants to have a say in how her marriage will look like. Her imput is welcomed. But if she still insist on having the white wedding and not putting finances into consideration. I'm thinking that she want the white wedding on the city because of her friends who will attend which is not enough reason to go bankruptcy for.

It was a heated argument yesterday. We both went to bed angrily and not in talking terms till now

The engineer had called the telecom several times in his attempt to give a situation report on why the light is not coming on but there was no answer neither was interested at the moment. To him, the engineer had just ruined a perfect afternoon. “Sir there’s complications and we’ll be needing some time to get it fixed. We’re switching to inverters for the time been” he explained however, Jason was not listening. He waved okay and anticipated Lade’s return from the rest room. He thought she went to hide in protection of their work rules forbidding them to have any romantic relationship.

The restroom door opened and Lade whisked away. A look of surprise and uncertainty about what that was dawned on him. Questions arising, answers needed but no one was available to give one. Jason had never been this emotionally vulnerable all his life.

“Lade! Lade!! Lade!!! Wait” Jason called out as she turned but before he could say anything “Whatever happened in your office was a mistake boss” she bluntly told him as she whine her waist away leaving Jason in awe of her backside. “Am I dreaming or it’s just fantasy, reverie or even imagination perhaps it’s just an illusion” he soliloquized but truthfully, this is reality. Jason never for a minute thought about Lade as that person he’s been searching for nevertheless, the dream and now the incident in his office left him no choice but to consider giving it a thought. “That’s your secretary” his sane mind told him though, Jason paid little attention to that fact. At the moment, the only necessary thing is his happiness and if Lade can guarantee that he won’t mind getting her another job or even quitting his. That’s a weird thought but a desperate man can do anything.

Jason narrated his ordeal with Lade to Henry who gave him his backing. “Man, as long as it makes you happy do it!” He had told him over the phone before the two folks discussed work.

The next day at work started normal as Jason came late and had a lot of people to attend to when he came. “It’s lunch time, we need to talk” Jason affirmed staring at Lade’s eyes like a child begging for chocolate. Lade reluctantly agreed.

It’s been almost five minutes when they walked into the restaurant and 3 minutes since they were served but none had said anything to the other. “Uhm about yesterday” Jason broke the silence with a cheesy smile. “I’m sorry I gave you an impression that wasn’t there. I was just emotional and got carried away” Lade expressed herself with a quaver tone wearing a regretful look begging for consolation. She continued to talk about her relationship as Jason listened with rapt attention to how much she’s in love with her guy. Jason felt his world had crumbled. The dream, incident at the office were now fallacy to him. “Will I ever get what I want” He quizzed himself. Though sad, he accepted the decision and they both promise to treat it like a mistake that it was. They talked randomly and briefly about Lade’s nephew who’d just visited............ “His Mom is thinking of relocating” she told Jason who wondered how she got a nephew. “You never told me you have a sister” he queried. Lade went on to explain she had a stepsister who was like a blood sister to her. Though her step mother was the opposite the support from her stepsister was all she needed to go through those tough days. In two days Jason had learned to listen to people more than we talk to people. “I can’t believe I’ve been a bad friend” he said regretfully.


“I’m gonna miss you dad” Sophia said melancholically... “I’ll be back in two weeks darling and I’m missing you already baby girl” he retorted. Jason had arranged for Lade to come pick her up from school to her house until he return from his business seminar.

Lade just finished talking to Jason on the phone receiving information and instruction on some clients document when the phone rang again. “Not again” she lamented. Reluctantly answering the phone her mood changed immediately after the call.

Let me make this very brief and please pardon my grammatical blunders.

I live at the back of a self contained apartment in a fenced compound with my landlord at the main house. So I usually go play early morning football with friends at a nearby pitch on Saturdays but lastnight i went to club and I'm having a hangover this morning so i couldn't go for soccer, I was just in my room trying to fight the headache and all. A friend of mine is seriously facing depression as a result of how old he's grown.

He disclosed his intentions to me that he wants to commit suicide because of the stigma of not able to do what his mates does that include age limit in the society.

With the love he has for the Nigeria military, he has applied to become a soldier severally but got disqualified on the basis of age. He applied for so many others with the same result.

His age mates who doesn't know much about his situation call him daddy, papa, old man which further worsen his state of mind.

He got fed up when his bank management denied him access to his account with the BVN he presented to make some accounting correction. They said his age on the BVN difer from his looks. They accused him of age falsification.

He was born on 1st of September 1996 but he actually look 30yrs older than his real age.

The question is, what could be the cause of him growing old everyday and how do I make him see positive reasons not to kill himself?

I proceeded with my education and finished. Went for NYSC. While serving the nation, My Mom died. When I got home, she'd been buried.
But my brother was still mad.

I later got job, took my brother to a Psychiatric hospital and the doctor after examining him said he is Schizophrenic. He was asked to stay in the hospital.
I paid. He then stayed there for one month. When I came to visit him, he pleaded with me to take him home that he didn't like it there.

So I took him home. Every month, I buy drugs for him and he gets injected. He usually puts up a fight but with the help of my younger brother, neighbors and a certain nurse, he receives the injection, forcefully and against his will.
Often times, he pleads with me not to inject him, the very time I obliged him, he scattered things, didn't allow the neighborhood sleep, talked throughout some nights and wouldn't eat sometimes. He looked really sick then but with the injection, one will hardly know he's not normal.
I told him that I won't let him miss his injection ever again.

Now, on Monday, my younger brother woke up and was unusually quiet. He normally wakes up and begins to play music with his phone or he will turn to football channel and watch until I leave for work. But I didn't go to work on Monday and I noticed he was quiet, then I asked him why he's quiet. He didn't respond. After some hours, I asked my Dad if he feels he's okay, My Dad said that he wants to be quiet and that I should let him be.

Then, that night, around 4am, my brother began to talk. He was shouting and some of the things he said were not coherent. He talked out of point. I and my Dad, with my elder brother surrounded him and I couldn't help crying when my Dad was cautioning him to keep quiet and he refused.
Neighbours thought it was my elder brother's voice they'd heard that night but by the time they heard in the morning that it was my younger brother, they visited my Dad in the evening. By then, my brother was still talking and even burnt his clothes yesterday.
My Dad got a few guys to chain him because he was violent yesterday when I left the house.
I know the problem is spiritual. I have prayed, fasted for my elder brother and now this!
I'm so unhappy.

So today after church we decided to do some home cleaning and she brought out some trash to burn outside ...while burning them the fire extended to a near by bush and the fire was allover the place, I quickly came outside to put off the fire and I was angry & I shouted at her that why will she burn trash in the afternoon when she is aware that its not Good. She took I as offense and went inside. so I went into the room to continue with what I was doing, after like 30mins I discover that the food she was cooking was already burning. And I was because I shouted at her dats why she took I as offense?? So I got angry and told her that since she doesn't want to stop this her character that she will go and meet DOS that will tolerate her. She got up and went straight to the room to carry her bag that she was going, I stop her not to go any where and she went and pick knife that she will stab me, if I don't leave the road for her to go. I thought she was joking and I told her to drop my things before leaving my house bcose I wouldn't look for her again. She den use her bag to hit me and even use the knife on me and blood started coming from that spot. I got angry and took my ATM from her and throw her things out of my House. So she started using words on me that am a woman beater.

NOTE: this is not the first or second time she has been USING KNIFE AND OTHER SHARP OJECT TO THREATEN ME EACH TIME WE HAVE ISSUE
