Through verification of you statement of account the system can aromatically determine you bucket size then calculate how much you can stake. Bet shops will be even more stricter.

According to what was reported on the news, he played a bet with sum of 2.5 and he failed to win and the game went against his prediction. Their was claim in the news that he borrowed the money he use for playing the bet, maybe for something else but thought he could doubled it through betting. That didn't go as planned.
