![]() Unless no be Yoruba people wey I know.. When Abacha slaughtered half of Yoruba tribe including abioala, his wife and imprison the rest..what did you fools do? Instead you cowards went to Abuja where your so called leaders were bribed with meat-pie.
ROFLMAO.......are you for real ??meat pie ![]() |
deji yusuf: Ok Lets go there!more grease to your elbows...the good lord will see you through ![]() most people think info marketing is push button, but its nt like that.like every business it requires hardwork but unfortunately or youth are looking for the easy way out.if thers hard work in it forget it!SMH. |

Prof Corruption: Tell me one region in Nigeria that does not play tribal politics?none as a matter of fact and it has not helped us.people would rather vote mediocres from their region than a highly qualified person from another region.that has been and remains our bane. i am sure if you pull up the 2011 election statistics you'll find out that mostvotes for jonathan were from christians and vice versa for buhari.we need to go above that. you would be shocked that many christians would even see voting for buhari a moslem as a sin.... ![]() |
Prof Corruption: Every region plays tribal politics and there is nothing, in absolute terms, that is wrong with that.now you are talking.... ![]() but...mind you....the comparison was between buhari and jonathan.a comparison between a 'known' track record and 'no record'. but anyways thats not the topic of this thread |
PapaBrowne: But the US had and still has some of the world's most intense racial issues.true....but remeber america already had a foundation pre-slavery + can you compare america in the 50's/60's to america in this dispensation?ECONOMICALLY i mean. |
Prof Corruption: There was nothing like rapid development post independence. We had rapid decline post independence.ok i agree...let me re-phrase. can you compare the rate of development just post independence(pre-oil) to what we have now?if we had continued at that pace without all the setbacks including the civil war....where would we be ![]() |
i am a southerner but i try to see past that line.....in the last elections i voted buhari.....my wife voted jonathan even when i had pointed to out to her that this man had done absolutely zilch in bayelsa state as governor.she failed to see with me and instesd insisted that buhari was on a quest to islamise the nation, besides the northerners had ruled for far too long.purely emotional reasons if you ask me and i can bet you 80-90% of southerners voted along these lines. look at the mess we've found ourselves in with jonathan. the yorubas are playing their own tribal politics(yes!that is what it is).how has it helped us ![]() |
Prof Corruption: You are absolutely wrong. You are completely wrong. There can never be a sense of belonging where the majority are living in abject poverty and are unhappy. Tell me what drives the so called "sense of belonging" in US?what was driving the rapid development of nigeria post independence?? |
PapaBrowne: You are very right. However, I read something interesting in another article that says its been researched and proven that once an economy hits a GDP of $6,000, the likelihood of political, tribal or other parochial instabilities reduces considerably. Nigeria is currently at $2500. We are not too far.hmm...interesting.... |
Prof Corruption: That's not exactly true. Infact one man can rule Nigeria for twenty years and the nation ll be largely happy as far as solutions are being provided to our problems.apparently you do not know how far the rabbit hole goes....if you think the US is the richest nation today and amerivans are happy because their economy is doing so well then think again. quote me anywhere....AMERICA IS THE GREATEST NATION ON EARTH TODAY NOT BECAUSE OF THEIR ECONOMY BUT BECAUSE THE CITIZENS HAVE AS SENSE OF BELONGING.THAT IS WHAT THEIR WEALTH AND SUCCESS IS BASED ON... |
Prof Corruption: Residency, in substantial terms, has nothing to do with our economic progress.my point is this country will never attain its true potential IF WE DO NOT FEEL LIKE WE ARE IN A COUNTRY. maybe you feel so.....i dont! |
i dont care if nigerias economic growth is at 100% per annum.....if we do not tackle and de-emphasize tribe, religion and ethnicity.....then this nation will be like a mansion built on quick sand. ![]() |
normally i would be excited about this kind of news but in a country torn apart by tribalism, ethnicity and religion,no thank you...i'll pass... the proposition to focus on state of residence and not state of indigenship is the best thing i have heard in recent years and is capable of putting this country on the path to redemption but when you have youths (leaders of tomorrow)argueing vehemently against it then we are finished. go to the north especially the middle belt, benue, plataeu, kaduna.you ll find people passionate about where they live in. e.g in jos....a yoruba, ibo or ijaw man who grew up there feels very passionate about that city.most josites i know..whether hausa yoruba ibo ijaw or ibibio knows know other place other than jos and i can bet you a yoruba man buttered and bred in jos will change jos for the better better than an indigene. |
demoreon: Nice post frank, bt I couldn't fail to disagree less with the idea of a blog doing the following ,classic post! |
i hate building a list through blogs even though it offers an opportunity to acquire some of the most responsive subscribers but the hassle in managing a good blog is too much for me abeg. its so sweet when i can just throw up a squeeze and send super charged paid traffic to it. ![]() |
if you need to make money online its simple.......BUILD A LIST.....NOT JUST ANY LIST.....A RESPONSIVE LIST,and i swear your people go dey swear say you dey do 19.... ![]() |
pro01: Let's even forget the 'white elephant' aspect of LASG's Mega City illusions (Eko Atlantic and other such nonsense). In simple terms, a mega city is supposed to be a huge metropolis in which things WORK - public facilities and utilities. In other words: working public transport systems, working roads/power infrastructures, working public hospitals and schools, working social security systems, modern utilities, efficient system for maintaining and regulating such utilities/infrastructures, etc. That is the story of New York, London, Tokyo, Beijing, Buenos Aires, Johannesburg, and other real 'mega cities'.classic post..... |
truly, this man has lost it. |
shymexx: I don't talk shyte, I do shyte... If Godwon could knock niggaz out in Houston and run the streets of Houston with Scarface, what makes you think I won't slap ya brains out of your head in the same place?? ...small boy!na your type wey once you enter lagos dem go thief everything wey you wear at every busstop before you reach house.na boxers you go use enter house ...you dey form ghetto cowboy... ![]() on a more serious note seun has not done well in maintaining standards on this forum.i remember back in 2006/2007.....nairaland was fun to be in.the politics section was full of thoroughbred analysts who treated each other with respect and always agreed to disagree.so a shame things have gone so bad that a ghetto kid from f**kham can get in and run wild.pity! @OP......i really dont care what they want to do with lag and abuja.truth is NIGERIA IS NOT A COUNTRY. i feel like someone thrown into a room full of people i dont know from adam and i am being forced to be friends with even when i can spot one or two are ready to slit my throat at the slightest opportunity. |
....."this is lagos".......any foreigner wey read this una hailings for here go feel say lag na paradise not knowing say the place na wan megash.it ole... ![]() |

The Lagos State Government has signed financial deal raising N80 billion through Bond, with Chapel Hill Limited as lead book runner and issuing House. The sum represents the first tranche of the N167.5 billion the state is sourcing under its second bond series between now and 2019 while it is also the fourth time the state is raising funds through bond issuance to drive its infrastructural development. According to Governor Babatunde Fashola at the completion of the board meeting at the Lagos House, Ikeja on Thursday, the total sum is to be invested in infrastructural development which remained the thrust of his administration. The bond will be used to complete ongoing projects, such as expansion and reconstruction of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Blue line rail corridor, ferry terminals in parts of the state to boost water transportation, construction and completion of health institutions such as Ayinke House within the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Maternal Healthcare Centres, among others. At the meeting, which attracted participating financial houses and stock broking firms, Fashola assured that the money would be used for specific projects that would add value to the state economy. “This is serious undertaking that imposes serious responsibilities on us. When my administration came out the first time to issue bond, it did so stating clearly its focus on infrastructural development, which faith it has kept,” he said. The governor stated that Nigeria left behind 40 years of infrastructural decay, an unfortunate development, which he said, must be tackled in order to give the future. Fashola said the bond would run beyond his administration, saying that “if my tenure is making progress towards the end, my responsibilities to the people have not stopped. So I have to borrow to do what I should do. What I can do with N10 today, my successor cannot do it with that same N10 tomorrow.” According to Fashola, “so, what we have done now instead of going to the banks to borrow at the high interest rate, we have gone to the larger public through public insurance of the debt bond to raise money and that include bank but they are borrowing on a different parameters which is longer tenure with slightly lower interest rate. if you had watched that town hall meeting on AIT y'day would see a governor exposing himself to his people.a man who is not perfect but trying to be accountable to his people. Even some of his commissioners did'nt find it funny. One of them(commissioner of education i think)even asked him "sir why do you want to disgrace me here now?",when it was obvious she was trying to be economical with the truth. ![]() |
...nigerians SMH.........if he doesnt hold these town hall meetings,na una go first talk say transparency no dey..... ![]() amaechis younger brother is loafing around now in PH because he's been banking on his brother to share money among his siblings and the governor has dissapointed. meanwhile in neighbouring BaYelsa state, the state gov younger brothe rides 4 jeeps and is moving around town with 'swagg'. ask any person that knows PH politics very well and youll find out that amaechi is hated by his own people, the ikwerres and many top politicians from the riverine areas because he has refused to share money. |
A rail system is mass transit but must be constructed a matter of strategy. Over 5million people move from the mainland to the island every single day. Now what the LASG has done is to identify where the largest volume of traffic flows from and has built a rail line that will service them. When the two lines are completed, they will take close to half of the 5million people off the roads. It is highly sustainable and makes sense. That is what the RVSG has failed to incorporate in the execution of this rail
my brother i disagree with you.are you saying that this monorail if completed will not ease the pressure on the existing roads are you saying that in the same vein,IF MAINTAINED,will not generate funds for the interested parties in the long run![]() |
