There is none whatsoever in the context of an exam over 100.Both are regarded failures.
Enough?I don't have a vendetta against Amaechi.I don't know him from a can of paint. So i have no reason to have anything personal against him.
My gripe with him has been highlighted by the fellow who released  the figures on Federation account allocation. If he collects that and is left with muddy,pot-hole infested roads in Port Harcourt,he is a failure.
As per the monorail,it still goes to show my point, which is a distinct LACK OF VISION IN GOVERNANCE:something he has in common with Odili.Odili did nothing;Amaechi is confusing things with the ones he is doing,in a bid to appear smart.
I live in Port Harcourt, have lived here for 4 1/2 years since I was transferred from Abuja at my place of work.I ply Trans Amadi-Nkpogu-Old GRA-Azikiwe axis twice everyday to drop and pick my child to and from school.I don't have to prove that to you or anyone.I do a masters in engineering at Uniport and I ply the NTA road most weekends.I know my way around PH enough to recognise that the roads are in terrible condition.
Fine the roads you listed are better now,but what about maintenance?Does that word exist in Amaechi's dictionary?Isn't Odili Road already developing holes?
What do you have to say about his jet plane?Isn't that lack of vision? What about hosting the sports festival that Rivers didn't need to?Don't be dull.Where have I backed Odili anywhere? This is supposed to be constructive and insightive argument. Why reduce this to a game of ludo and ayo?
If you don't have anything constructive to say, just do yourself a favour and climb down from Amaechi's rod.Posting pictures of a failed project (monorail) is just uncouth. Not to mention the verbal assault you gave to me,but it's a hazard we face on the internet.
Back to the monorail;I still think that only in Nigeria will a governor embark on such a white-elephant project. You need to castigate him seriously for lack of vision. The main Port Harcourt is crumbling,But Amaechi wants a greater PH so he and his cronies can make money.
I'm tired of being angry at a governor who wants to decieve us by pretending to work.
I'm going to pick my kid.I'm shuddering at the dangerous pot holes I'm going to face.Maybe if I can,I will take pictures and post.
you ve lived in PH for 4 and half years so i take it you relocated to PH at the time amaechi became governor, do you have any idea what PH was like before amaechihuhi am not a rivers indigene but i was born in Portharcourt and lived here all my life.Dont you think i have seen govts come and go in this state and as such i should be in a better position to say which govt is failed or not.you ve only lived in PH for about 5years and you are asking how amaechi is better than odilihuh
did you notice that the figures quoted by the other guy were from 1999-2007huhIF YOU WERE OBJECTIVE YOU WOULD HAVE NOTICED THAT.
Yes, the monorail is not necessary when we have multiple bad roads, but dont you think its best to wait till the end of his tenure to see what comes out of ithuh
did amaechi do the peter odili road? i stand to be corrected
why didnt rivers need to host the sports festivalhuhplease enlighten me,
The roads i listed are "better"??dude, are you for realhuh
The old PH is crumbling. Why?dont you think the congested nature of old portharcourt as it is is responsiblehuhhow you fail to see how moving key institutions to the outskirts solves that problem totally beats me.

^^^ Sorry, you missed out Airforce - Eliozu road constructed by StarBoard's mentor Odili. Ameachi had to escavate the whole road to get it fixed.
This was one of the worst roads in PH until amaechi decided to reconstruct the whole road, the man basically tore the former one down , even the flyover is not left out, i remember nearly having an accident on that flyover grin grin grin, but the point is, he has and is making a difference as governor,
he has identified bad drainages as a cause of roads breaking down and is slowly but steadily converting open drains to underground drains, look at OLU OBASANJO and STADIUM road,
well all i can say is that the effects of all these constructions will not be felt now,

Nice, introspective post there.People amaze me by the kind of responses they put out.
There is this mo.ron called phantom who says Amaechi is God's gift to nature. He started a thread on Amaechi's achievements.
When you try to debate with him,he gives you the impression that he shouldn't be in the company of human beings by his zoo-ish responses.I am just waiting for his snail-paced brain to come here and defend his mentor whose d/ick he sucks everyday. . .

Much Ado About a Bond
by Ibim Semenitari

I have read with a smile some of the things that have been said about the proposal of the Rivers state government to issue a bond. Cynicism is understandable, indeed even forgivable in a country where the people have held the short end of the stick for so long. For many Nigerians, Rivers people inclusive, government can only do one thing well - lie through the teeth.

So what way to go? is it possible that government might ever tell some truth, sometime, if not the whole truth all the time? Is it possible that at some point and with some of our leaders, politics does actually give way to governance? How can anyone be convinced that government-speak is not simply another name for robust propaganda that is self serving and destructive. Indeed is it possible to see government as pro and not anti people?

I must confess that even I am cynical of government. And no, don't laugh or sneer at me. I too am a citizen with full citizen rights including the right to be cynical of government. But after a year and a half of sitting on this side ( that is the government side) of the negotiating table in governance, I must confess that I am better schooled. No, not every government person is a rogue armed with a pen or these days a computer, waiting to rob the unsuspecting public of the common wealth. True some of us haven't made life easy for everyone but there is a lot more sincerity in official chambers than many of us are willing to give the leadership credit for.

Like the case of the proposed Rivers State N250 billion bond. I thought borrowing bulk money to meet an immediate need and paying back over a period of time is elementary economics. In the days of more robust companies and government, it was common place to see staff take car loans and housing loans to meet the pressing needs of either buying a car or paying one's house rents. Till date the concept of mortgage loans follow the same principle. Borrow bulk sum and pay gradually with deductions from one's salary. In simple terms this is what the Rivers state government is doing.

For a government with strong fundamentals and enviable ratings by two of the worlds top rating agencies; fitch and Standard and Poors, it is no crime to function with other people's money. If anything, it is good business sense. You borrow bulk to take care of critical projects and pay gradually over time little bits. The long term benefit is completed projects on time, reducing the possibility of inflation catching up with the project and even stronger ratings earned by paying back.

But even more important is the fact that taking a bond is no piece of cake, more so in a strong regulatory environment. But I agree that the people have a right to ask questions and even query the wisdom of government. In the same vein, they must listen to sound argument and good opinions should give way to better.

For avoidance of doubt, the Rivers State government is not borrowing because it is broke. Governor Chibuike Amaechi began for the first time in Nigeria's history, putting aside money monthly in a future fund. A future fund is exactly that. Money that can only be used by a future government. Regardless of this, the N1billion put aside monthly can hardly suffice to make bulk payment for a N60billion project or even one of N30 billion. For that, one must borrow and pay gradually. Governor Amaechi has made a promise to tell Rivers people exactly how much each project to be funded by the bond will cost. All of these projects will be subjected to due process, government will consistently open its books to show how monies are being expended. That is a responsibility the Amaechi administration takes seriously and one it intends to judiciously follow.

Why should you trust us? Because we did promise you transparent and accountable stewardship, anchored on integrity and good governance in October 2007, and somehow, warts, pimples and all, we have kept faith with that promise. Still, for those who dont trust government, at least, trust Fitch, S&P and the Securities and Exchange Commission. They too have given this administration a clean bill of health, and that should count for something.

you are wrong brother.Eleme has two refineries, one is the largest in Africa. One petro-chemical plant,Power generation plant,The second largest Port in Nigeria and fertilizer plant. What about Omoku? What of Obigbo? What of Bonny the largest oil export terminal in Africa which also houses the largest LNG plant?Three of those 4 cities generate more than almost every other Nigerian city apart from Lagos.

I deliberately removed Rivers and Delta because much of the industries there are oil and hence makes their economy very much like microcosm of Nigeria.
to
thank you, They forget that the portharcourt they call one city state is made up of up to 5 LGAs out of the 23, now apart from Portharcourt as it is now,you have bonny that houses LNG, bori is another centre, ahoada is another, oyigbo is another, RIVERS state would have long expanded to the state lagos is in now if not for the different water bodies dividing the state.Even at that the riverine towns are developing even without a link to portharcourt.I have friends who live and do business in buguma,
My take is 1.Lagos 2.Rivers 3.Delta 4.Anambara
