tenry: they can go to hell. Bunch of fools. The strike cost me 180,000 i did not budget for. My wife delivered thru CS after the nurses in general hospital referred us to private hospital run by the same set of doctors in surgery department of the general hospital. If at all the delivery will be thru operation in a general hospital, it cant be more than 60k while i paid 180k at a private hospital. Four days after, they are calling off the strike, damn you. stupid set of human being.

dumodust: this is the kid of posts that result from people talking like they know what they don't know.... medical history and examination has nothing to do with results. We are trained to come to a conclusion long before we see any lab results or investigation we REQUEST for based on our finding. Lab results are not foolproof and are seriously error prone, even if you come with one, i'll shift it to one side ask questions, know exactly why you came to see me, examine you make my diagnosis before ever looking any any result and checking where and who did it . That's how you people go about recommending frivolous and irrelevant investigations for pts, pure quackery... you are very very wrong and you are misinforming the public,... pls talk about yourself and your training, if you are not a medical doctor, please stop making comments like we are even close...

I have been watching him misinform the public.I just didn't want to get myself worked up.
maybe we doctors should come together,open a thread and clear up some of these misconceptions.
the truth is our people are terribly ignorant so many times I actually take my time to educate them.

if you ask me,their post basic programme hasnt gathered enough clout yet.
they have a WAC of nursing but they don't seem to be serious honestly.

pharmacists too should be able to specialise in a different postgraduate program ACCORDING TO HOW THEY DEEM FIT.

we should have cardiovascular pharmacists,nephrology Pharm,Hiv pharm....e.t.c

for the lab guys, what do they need specialising for? they are already in one area of medicine.

residents are unhappy with the way the strike was called of.
it was pure politics played well by the FG but in every war sacrifices have to be made.

In case it has not occurred to you, the doctors are now the ones at the disadvantaged position of negotiations, it is now about getting their jobs back not all that trivial nonsense about power struggle in FG hospitals management and administration and needless nomenclature ego fights amongst colleagues.

Government has effectively cut the oversized ego of these doctors to size. I like the way they ended the negotiations and suspended the residency program, that was a master stroke and a game changer...... Let's see how an unemployed Resident doctor will be concerned with how a pharmacist that has a job choose to address himself.... V
