maestroferddi: I can see that you are not informed.
For your information, I followed the mediation by the National Assembly on the resolution of the strike/impasse.
I witnessed the negotiations/sittings among the representatives of NMA/NARD; the Director, Budget Office - Dr Bright Okogwu; the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Mr Linus Awute; the Minister of Labour and Productivity - Chief Emeka Wogu; the National Assembly led by Hon Ndudi Elumelu and other stakeholders.
In the above parley it was explained to the doctors the fiscal and budgetary impossibility of acquiscing to their demands at this stage of the fiscal year.
The government made several immediate concessions while praying the doctors to await the beginning of the next fiscal year for budgetary provisions to be made to capture their new demands.
There and then, the doctors agreed in principle after seeing the true picture of things. All the negotiating parties left the sitting happy that the strike soon would be called of.
But when the doctors went back to their constituency, unseen hands got to work. They became unduly intransigent and unreasonable, rendering all the time and resources expended to reach a truce futile.
I am sure it was the unseen hands that cajole them of the availability of non-existent powers. They forgot that when push comes to shove, the government would default to the position of an employer.
Please tell us why the NMA president resigned amidst the strike... dude have you had a lobectomy stop going on and on and tell us how NMA=APC. I won't indulge you any further. its obvious arguing with you Is like scooping water with a basket. nma is APC - maestrofferdi. ..... |

maestroferddi: You have a way of sounding grievously preposterous.
Jonathan is a politician in case you have chosen to develop a selective amnesia on that.
You chose as NARD cum NMA to deploy all means and avenues within your purview to press home your demand. Infact you went the whole by embarking on what is generally a self-serving strike to paralyse, in all intents and purposes, the national health architecture.
Jonathan, as the boss of all bosses, on his own part elected to serve you a dose of your own medicine by exploiting some intricate nuances in the national employment laws.
You forgot that there are sundry privileges you guys are enjoying at the instance of the government which are withdrawable should political considerations be factored in.
Dude, stick with what you know as you apparently dont know jack about politics and political expediency.
Some of you guys were initially bragging about how the government was going to come back to you cap in hand.
I am sure reality is gradually sinking in as some of you guys are presently scurrying from one media house to the other to whip public sympathy and sentiment. The rest, like you, have been shouting themselves hoarse while trying to drum support from whoever cares to listen.
It is so ironical that you guys are falling back to the rest of society for support. The same people you guys, in rather egotistical vainglory, deem of lower intellectual capacity. you are the one sounding preposterous. what does APC have to do with the doctors strike? you said it,not me. the burden of proof is on you. by the time one begins to reduce everything to PDP-APC, they have often times run out of ideas. leave the NMA wahala, and prove to the rest of us how NMA has become APC, otherwise you are just another e-thug that should be relegated to the background. |

maestroferddi: Quite true that we should be using of internal resources.
But our doctors should also shun dabbling into partisan politics.
In Germany doctors remain doctors and not tools being manipulated by opposition elements to undermine the government.
Nigerian doctors really need to sit up. It is not only Jonathan as most Nigerians would readily patronise foreign doctors were it not for cost considerations.
It is goes beyond attacking dissenting opinions... you see why I refused to take you on on the other thread? a PDP thug, that is what you are. you lose all objectivity and you want people to take you serious?? you and your president are a sick joke! a thread is started about your president hopping of to Germany for healthcare, and the only post you make on the issue, you mention that doctors are being used by the opposition, the exact same thing Jonathan was said to have complained about according to senator mark. must we politicise every damn thing in this country the NARD president is a northerner doing his residency in AKTH. does it now mean you sack 16000 resident doctors because their president lives in an APC state? dear Lord, deliver us from Jonathan and the I.diots in his government. doctors strike for legitimate reasons and you brand them APC? is this how low we've gone in this country? when gbawe, berem and co. complain, one is tempted to think they are just crying wolf but this one has hit closer to home and I find it disgusting. lord have mercy! |

Late Patrick Sawyer was rushed to First Consultant Hospital, Lagos, on arrival. It was reported that Sawyer was initially assessed and treated for malaria, hepatitis, etc. The assessment and diagnosis of Ebola came later. The junior and senior doctors that managed Sawyer at the First Consultant Hospital FAILED at this level. With history of acute fever (plus other symptoms) and recent arrival from Liberia, the diagnosis at presentation ought to have been ebola viral disease (EVD) UNTIL PROVEN OTHERWISE.

thandii1: Dude has been trying so hard to avoid engaging you in a conversation, which only means one thing-he has read in between the lines and realised you are not one of those he can talk down on, and call names, he realises you are well informed about the matter and you are reasonable and sound. Had it been it were a random guy who types in text format or a johesu member(who they always feel threatened by but mask with their false sense of superiority ), you'd have seen him engage you with epistles full of insults, threatening and cursing out.
I just laughed at him when he kept spamming everywhere with politicians pay as if politicians just started receiving such allowance in nigeria. Since when did any reasonable professional start comparing their pay with corrupt politicians if not GREED in the making? They keep comparing their pay with other developed countries like there is any profession in nigeria that pays the exact amount their counterpart pay in those developed countries.
Everything starts and ends with enriching their pockets like they are the only important sector in nigeria , but when you raise the issue, they try to tell you they are fighting for better healthcare services.
Nigerians are mot kids, they can tell clearly a union fighting for her pocket from one fighting for improvement in their sector. See how they are trying to blackmail onyeabuchi now?
So far 2nurses have died, but we are yet to receive a blackmail message from the association of nurses.
Another thing that has been baffling me which I keep saying is that is that these same greedy people received their july salaries(including call duty allowances) and wouldn't have minded receiving more for the subsequent months of no services rendered had FG not terminated their appointment.
Are these who nigerians should take seriously? Yeye dey smell. they are making plans to pay august salary and i will spend every dime with relish. @the bolded.....but your senators, just for sitting on their as**es all day can make what POTUS makes in a year in 2 months and you see nothing wrong? 23.5 million/month and you have the b.alls to defend them i hope you can afford to fly your kids to india when they fall ill? and yes,i have been avoiding him because...... im no reash(like my warri peeps will say ) |

Well, if you feel I havent properly understood the message the OP is trying to pass across, feel free to point them out to me. All I saw was a passage filled with rantings, swearing and cursing. but I am yet to understand your own long epistle on the matter. you seem to be saying that doctors should not emphasize on a hazard allowance because they are not the only ones exposed to WORK PLACE HAZARD. |

Blockus: No sir..
I am reacting to the OP's post sir. Of everything she wrote there, I only was able to isolate the part about '5000 Naira' Hazard allowance. The rest of that post was just filled with pointless rantings. so you only picked out the issue of hazard allowance comprehension in the English language curriculum must be emphasized. |

anonimi: You can EXAGGERATE our situation as much as you and others like you want. It does not change the FACT that the Jonathan/Sambo federal administration has done much better than their predecessors and those LIARS and PROPAGANDISTS jostling to replace them.
To that extent, I am committed to supporting them as much as possible IF they decide to run for elections again next year so that the slow but STEADY progress we have since under their administration can continue. ......STEADY PROGRESS. okay o,whatever floats your boat. as soon as the doctors call off,I will try and see an ophthalmologist to look at my eyes cos I can't see any progress. so let me rule out ocular pathology first. |

esere826: You are correct in this ^^^ ooo but the issue at hand is the NMA strike (I have assumed that you are a doctor)
1) Are the nurses and other health professionals happy with you guys? 2) If they increase your salary to 2million a month will you guys drop the strike action and forget about the ammenities you're fighting for? 3) If after increasing your salary to 2 million, they also increase the salary of other health profs. to 2 million or more will you guys embark on another strike?
....think carefully about this from the perspective of the wider Nigerian doctors viewpoint maybe it will provide some clue abeg no vex. I no fit argue with you.you obviously are UNINFORMED. don't take it the hard way. |

If you swat a tsetse fly perched on a man's scrotum you'll have the man to contend with and not the fly
..thats the reason for the mentally deranged nigerians you laugh at try hard to decompose issues into its various strains please don't tell me that.
