PoliticsRe: Between A Senator And A Minister Of Niger Delta by PharoahIII: 4:52pm On Aug 21, 2019
Also a minister is more likely to have the ears of the president than a senator. When buhari appoints you as minister it is as good as being elected for a 4-year term because the guy does not sack, hope this helps

Giannakopoulos:
Between being a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and a Minister of Niger Delta, which is a better office in terms of respect it accords, financial benefits, etc (aside from the consideration that one is an appointment and the other is by election).

I suppose one way to look at it is at every given time there’ll be 109 senators but at no time will there ever be more than 1 Min for Niger Delta. Come to think of it this is a choice between being a Minister and a nobody since Akpabio lost the senatorial elections. In terms of Budgetary allocations the Niger Delta ministry dwarfs the entire senate, I believe.

I am Igbo but these so-called Ipobians are useless and any sane man that condones this callous act needs to have his senses checked. They attack a defenceless man? Where were they when Nigerian soldiers were murdering their people? They claim to be Biafrans yet they are in Germany, far, far away from the very people they claim to love, is that not hypocrisy of the highest order? Kanu sits in his ivory tower and incites senseless Ipobians to commit violence , I wonder why the government cannot even extradite him sefhuh

NOBODY can stop Baba BAT from contesting.

Is one thing to contest and it's another thing to WIN

If Baba Tinubu can't get the VOTES of SouthSouth(PDP warehouse), SouthEast(PDP warehouse)...there is no way he can win...The north is divided on the part of the APC. And should the PDP feed the most heavy weight and most popular in the north after Baba Buhari, Rabiu Musa Kwankwoso(RMK) against any southerner in APC, APC is gone if the PDP in southSouth and SouthEast delivers... In Bauchi, Kano, Adamawa, Sokoto, Taraba... in last election the APC govs. were depending on the popularity of Baba Buhari, and we saw what happened. Baba has made it clear that he contested 3times and went to court, so anybody that wants to succeed him must do his own work. And with what we have in the north , I doubt if any southerner mostly an Igbo or a christain can get votes here without rigging...In a nut shell, Baba Tinubu has to align with the South if not he may just be a participant candidate, because alot was done in the north to give Baba Buhari re-election.

2023 will be very interesting...

In the North. there are only 3 socio-political groups that matter: Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, Northern Elders' Forum and Miyetti Allah, anything outside these three is a counterfeit. The leaders of these groups have come out to say that they cannot stop Tinubu from being president but that he cannot be anything other than the president of Oduduwa Republic, yet people are here masturbating over the news of one irrelevant Northern group of undergraduate students endorsing Tinubu's candidature? Before now has anyone ever heard of this group?

You’re saying the truth regarding Philip Emegwali and I respect the man a lot.

Tho Wole Soyinka also is the only Black man of African origin to win the Nobel laureate in a category other than the Peace price ( peace is like a gift to recognize people with impact on humanity and not about academics per say).

Normally we shouldn’t be comparing both tribes based on academic achievements coz we have lot of Yorubas and Igbos doing well. But I just hate it when people lie about statistics to achieve some sort of bragging right. Each tribe has their own strength and weaknesses but it’s very important to correct people when they project false statistics.

If you look at the number of people who did not win the Nobel prize in lit. you'll sooner learn not to attach too much importance to it. Not that I begrudge Wole Soyinka, certainly not (I'm Igbo but I think he's a better writer than Achebe.) If people like James Joyce, Vladimir Nabokov then I don't think it is an important prize, considering that a man like Hemingway won it!

I’ll reply you one by one and I want you to please use statistics or numbers to back up your claim.

Imo State can never be the state with the highest number of professors, the last time I checked it was Ekiti state. Let me tell you why SW dwarf other regions in terms of education.

The state with the highest no of professors is Ekiti.
Out of the top 10 universities in Nigeria, SW features 7 universities. For you to know about the contribution of the SW to education, lot of private universities are situated in the SW, even some of the private universities are part of the top 10 in the country. Check the highest number of researches and patents, they are majorly from SW universities, stop believing the lies of IPOB bureau of statistics.

Verdict: The Igbo man future is Yorubas yesterday in education.

Other countries watch those nollywood movies coz they are in English and major Yoruba movies are in Yoruba language. The Yoruba sectors of the movie industry produces the highest number of films, that’s a fact. The Yoruba movie industry contribute huge revenue to Nolywood in general. English movies features actors from high Yoruba and Igbos so you can’t use that as a distinguishing factor.

You are right about the sport team, Igbos dominate that for sure. But what about the Music industry? Yoruba dominate that both in the country and in diaspora. Right from the time of Fela, Ebenezer Obey, Fuji, and now to the current Corp of hip-pop artist, most successful musicians are Yorubas. From Dbanj, wozkid, Davido, kiss daniel, Burna boy (mixed SS & SW) in the local scene. Sade Adu, Wale, and Rotimi on the int’l scene and a host of others.

You won’t hear the Yorubas brag about our achievements coz it’s already the norm.
Please let's stop all this talk of what tribe is the more educated of the two, the so-called education is even that of the white man and about his past and his history. If the argument had been which of the two tribes is more knowledgeable about her own history then yes it might be acceptable. At the end of the day we are one. A white man doesn't care if you are Igbo or Yoruba, all he sees is a monkey. Let us learn to love ourselves.
PS Philip Emegwali (an Igbo man) has the highest IQ ever recorded for an African, he has an IQ even higher than that of Albert Einstein. please before you say I'm lying google it.

Bauchi for example went massively for Buhari. APC lost Bauchi.
Now things could be flipped. Unlikely as APC will be conducting the elections and so has that advantage of a ruling party.
But I don’t know what the Northerners will do.
If I were APC, I would wait until I’m sure what PDP is doing before picking my candidates

Don't worry too much about this, the choice for PDP in 2023 will be between Tambuwal and Kwankwaso. The VP slot will go to the SS this time so as not to alienate Northern voters (I'm thinking Wike.) Now I'm not so sure about Tambuwal, but if for any reason Kwankwaso appears on the ballot then it will well and truly be the end of APC, irrespective of whom they field (They can field El Rufai for all I care they will still lose) One thing you've got to understand is that PDP is and will always be a Northern party. SS and SE are merely holding the fort for them until 2023, so to speak. In 2023 they will revert to being in the vanguard of the party, as had been so from inception. To the Northerners, APC was only a vehicle to get to the promised land (presidency) in 2015. To those who think Buhari will insist on Tinubu's presidency, I ask, is it the same Buhari who relies on the cabal for even his ministerial list that will insist on Tinubu?. Buhari is not strong-willed.
APC can implode for all he cares. SW don't know what they are up against. As someone once rightly said, The North has a powerful friend and they never walk alone.'

Let me add this::

And what do you mean by condescend to marry the PA?

How is the PA unqualified? Do you know her values and preferences in a man.

Do you understand why people leave 500k paying jobs for 200k jobs, just because they need more time for families?

That TIME for them is enough consideration and more valuable than the 300k they will miss.

So she should have married a former president?

Again, you muddled up the love part.
Chai!
It is like the man in the proverb who upon learning he is to be burnt alive, douses himself in palm oil and proceeds to sit by the hearth. Tell me who would believe that nothing happened between the two of them whilst he was alive (even though it is quite possible.) You speak as though you are not African. A man does not marry a woman old enough to be his mother. You call it love? I call it shame. Picture it this way: something happens to you and then your husband proceeds to marry your housemaid, now tell me who would believe that he had nothing to do with this housemaid all along? Even if she wanted to remarry, she could have at least married someone else, someone her age and not close to the family. Her husband's memory is not sacrosanct to her, women think with their pussies.

This Suntai Danbaba's case weak me abeg. Hitherto this had been the one woman who had made me believe that however remotely impossible it seems, a woman can still love a man, but seeing this now, I can say without equivocation that a woman can never love a man. You should have seen how this woman cared for her husband, in fact, I would very happily have lived a short life and be cared for by a woman as she did for her husband than to live to be as old as Methuselah without that kind of care. This woman stood or rather appeared to stand by her husband, she was proud or rather appeared to be proud of him. To those who have wives at home, I'm sorry but your wives do not love you. No woman could love a man as this woman loved (or again appeared to love) her husband and if she can condescend to marry his PA then my dear friends there is no love. Ah, she could not even wait for the corpse to turn cold! Women are truly demons. To those who have never seen demons before, look no further, for they have been with us right from the very beginning. We even sleep with them, they cook for us, we even tell them we love them.

But the question to all my Igbo brothers is this: Did Ojukwu have the interests of Ndi Igbo at heart? The answer is no. Ojukwu could have been a hero only if he had the courage to commit suicide. To those who think it doesn't take courage to commit suicide please go and buy a bottle of sniper and see if fear go allow you drink am. Why did Ojukwu deceive the Igbos with empty rhetorics. He once boasted that no nation in Black Africa could defeat Biafra, and that even if they were attacked, the grass would rise up and fight for them. You sound like a guy that's doing well, when you're doing well, you don't have to give a Nigerian girl money. Then she'll claim to love you for who you are but her hope is one day, you'll both settle and she can eventually stick her fingers in your money cookie jar. Do not be deceived bro, your money and environment speaks for you. You should also know giving a girl money is not restricted to cash you give her but outings, ice cream budget, even just taking her to nice places and giving her a pleasurable time.

Girls know smart guys with money always suspect the they are with them for their money and try to play it down but eventually the money issue must come up. If you say you've dated girls without money being directly or indirectly involved then you're either telling a lie or you're not just observant enough.

As for OP, do not say he's goofy. He was dating a girl that has made up her mind not to suffer extreme poverty where feeding is a problem. It is quite possible the guy she ran to isn't all that well of but when she needs N1k or even N100 recharge card, that guy can provide. Op could be a better person and she really likes him but will rather be with the guy that can provide for her, if that is the case, do not be surprised she can return back to op when he starts making some money.

This is the way females are programmed - to go for the alpha male that can provide and protect her. All female animals God created are like that and I must say the females of our species are even more considerate than the females of other species who will only let the best male in the pack Bleep and have a relationship. Other males have to wait for the alpha male to grow old and weak for them to take over.

So guy, review your life and honestly see the role money has played in helping you date girls you believe don't need money.
Abeg that GCFR wen them give MKO make you go collect am abeg, you too much. I pity the other fool that thinks you can keep a woman with anything other than money. This is highly humiliating to the hero of Nigeria modern day democracy.
The problem with Nigerians is we are not very good students of history. It is sacrilegious to refer to Abiola as the hero of democracy in Nigeria. If you were a good student of history you would know that it was the same Abiola alongside people like Adesunbo Onitri, Sen Sikiru Shitta Bey, etc that instigated Abacha(who at the time was the Sec of Defence) to overthrow the Interim National Government led by Chief Shonekan, simply because the latter refused to hand over power to him (Abiola)
And when Abacha too reneged on his promise to hand over power within 6 months he went ahead to make the now infamous Epetedo declaration which led to his arrest and ultimately his death.
Please get your facts right Abiola was a monster of democracy, I'm yet to know of any civilian who was involved in as many coup d' etats as Abiola. Buhari is even being very magnanimous because the same Abiola was also instrumental in the 1985 coup that sacked his government.

As a writer, I think I am in a better position to comment on this topic. Firstly you must appreciate that Achebe's mastery of the English language was second to none, although he did not have a flair for words as Soyinka does. In terms of scene depiction, Achebe was a genius. Achebe could describe a scene like none other. Achebe had total control of his audience, he knew how to keep them on their toes, wanting and practically begging for more. This is a feat Soyinka simply could not achieve. But in terms of consistency, I'll give it to Soyinka.
Soyinka's best work till date remains Death and the King's Horseman (The first time I opened this book I knew I was in literary heaven). If one were to take this work away from Soyinka, Soyinka will still be Soyinka. But if you take Things Fall Apart away from Achebe, Achebe will be a nobody. He'll be like a disrobed emperor. His other works were quite quotidian. Achebe was a master storyteller and writer, and Soyinka, more of a writer than a story teller.
If I had to choose between the two, I'd choose Soyinka, and that's only because storytelling in itself is a more difficult craft to master than writing.
Things fall apart is not a book, it is a bible.
