Having a goal and achieving that goal are two things that are not always successfully executed; yet they are necessary for true success. In the current political clime, true success is a necessity that cannot be dispensed with.

Nigeria has grown and evolved over 50 years and has had an array of leaders; but none quite like Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. His emergence as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is a sign that Nigeria has matured in its democracy and governance.

President Goodluck represents a generation of Nigerians that identify with the youths as well as the older population. This gives him the benefit of drawing from a pool of wisdom cultivated over time while looking ahead through the eyes of the youths. His simplicity, sincerity and persistence in keeping a balance between contending parties is a clear testimony that he is a listener, a visionary, a detribalized Nigerian and a patriot.

As an academic and human rights activist, President Goodluck Jonathan has been courageous in the decisions and changes he has made in his cabinet and is aware that in pursuing his vision for a better Nigeria, he will not always have full support.

His vision is to provide honest and sincere leadership by promoting high levels of ethical an moral standardsin governance with a view to using the nation's material and human resources sufficiency in power supply, health, education, and security. President Goodluck also intends to drive Nigeria's economy towards amongst the best in Africa.

President Goodluck has demonstrated to all Nigerians, that he has a vision and has through words and deeds shown that he is committed to fulfilling it. Some of the high points of his tenure includes the recent appointment of an active unionist and political scholar; Professor Attahiru Jega as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman. This is a clear indication that he is not wavering on his promise of delivering credible elections in 2011. Again, his choice of Architect Namadi Sambo as Vice President is true to his plan for positive change.

Goodluck Jonathan represents a welcome departure form the past and has demonstrated, in various ways that it will not be “business as usual”.

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan started life in Otuoke, Bayelsa state where he was born on November 20, 1957.

He commenced his education at St. Stephen Primary School (now State School, Otuoke), and then on to St. Michael Primary, Oloibiri. His secondary education was at Mater Dei High School, Imiringi and from there he proceeded to the University of Port-Harcourt where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Zoology, as well as his Masters and Doctorate degrees.

In the first 13 years of his illustrious career, he worked in various capacities in different organisations;

* The Department of Customs and Excise as a Preventive Officer (1975 - 1977)

* Iresi, Secondary Commercial Grammar School, Osun State (formerly in Oyo state) - Biology Teacher (1981 - 1982)

* The Rivers State Ministry of Education as Science Inspector of Education (1982 - 1983)

* Rivers State College of Education, Port - Harcourt as Lecturer in the department of Biology (1983 - 1993)

* The Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission (OMPADEC(defunct) - now known as NDDC) as Assistant Director (Directorate of Environmental Protection and Pollution Control) (1993 - 1998)

Goodluck Jonathan's foray into politics commenced in the 4th Republic, when he joined the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

He ran along side D.S.P Alamieyesigha in the 1999 Bayelsa gubernatorial elections which they won and were subsequently re-elected in 2003. In 2005 Goodluck Jonathan became the governor after Alamieyesigha was impeached.

In 2006 Jonathan was chosen as the running mate to the Presidential aspirant - Umaru Yar'Adua. The election of Yar'Adua as the President of Nigeria in 2007 made Jonathan the first Vice President from the south south to hold that office.

In May 2010, Jonathan made history again by becoming the first President of Nigeria from the South South region.

President Goodluck is a member of a number of proffessional bodies and has recieved many awards.

The goal is to win the match on Saturday and that of copa dey rey while for the champions league progression is the goal. There is no point looking for revenge because it doesn't come immediately and there is another day to do that but not this year.

Abusing people and the candidates they supported was something that should have been avoided in the first place but the did has been done and i don't think we will ever go back to the former ways.

Having a different opinion about any subject has resulted to enmity, abuses and superiority fights all to prove a point or show that i am better than you. We all should go back to those thread, analyze the comments we have made and surely know that we can never go back fully to the former ways. No candidate can win in a free and fair manner please so stop putting the burden on goodluck alone.

I actually believe that there is no going back and the divide created as a result of this election will remain for a long time if not forever.

The opposition went too far in the way they portrayed goodluck or pdp supporters and that cannot be set aside easily after the election.

Of course, Kaka in his prime was simply unplayable but as per technique, Ibra and Berbatov are exceptionally gifted.
I will take kaka, berbatov and then ibra in that order because that ibra of a guy doesn't know what is team work ( one of his problems at barca ). He is learning from his present play in ac milan but that is not enough because he is still not effective like villa that can play as a point man or winger.

Kaka is good from the midfield and as a supporting striker also, very effective for counter play strategy and can score goals from outside the 18 yard box. Berbatov is just like villa only that he is slow but he uses his thinking faculty more than ibra.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: La Liga Followers: Discuss The Current Season Here by Pharoh: 10:14am On Apr 11, 2011

An anti-climax at the end of the day. Villareal really missed the services of their captain, Gonzalo Rodriguez, who's out for the season - their defence just wasn't it. Yeah, I think they were fatigued from their midweek EL match. They have a very small squad and it's like they are concentrating their energy on the EL. They're still 8 points ahead of 5th placed Sevilla.
Los Che were just ill on the night. 6 goals in two games for Soldado. Banega, Mata, Pablo Hernandez, Tino Costa, Topal, were all amazing. Until recent, Soldado had been playing from the bench. Emery preferred Aduriz.
Your analysis is right and i think also that they were tired from the Europa league matches and to me there was no point winning this match. The fifth placed team is not going to threaten them anytime soon so they have the right to relax but the goal margin is too much. I don't mind if they pass through the qualifiers for the champions league next season provided that they win the Europa league for la liga.

AjanleKoko:
This week's beauty should be Valencia - Villareal, at the Mestalla. The true top of the table clash, since 1st and 2nd are not really up for discussion anyway. Valencia have shaken off their blip, while Villareal are on and off in the league at the moment. Expect this to be a seriously open game.
The structure of the league table and the avtivities of villareal in the europa league might have affected what we saw yesterday. I want the present top four to represent in the champions league next season but guys who do you wish to qualify for the europa league.

My choice would be from A.madrid, Malorca, sevilla and espanyol. My heart sincerely goes for espanyol out of the lot because they have really impressed this season and wish they will be rewarded for that.

The buck stops at their table brother, it is the duty of this government to provide you and I security, how many bomb blasts now and so far no one has been brought to book. Where does the billions we allocate to these security agencies go to? You must understand why people are livid!
No one is against your points brother but my point has always been what is the root cause of our problems. We will be wasting time spending trillions on security if we cannot even know the root cause of our security issues. Bombs and suicide bombing is flowing into Israel and there is no amount of security that can stop that, they know what to do that's why the want to make peace with the Palestinians. Please look at the post by timbuku two and see where i am coming from. it is high time Nigeria goes to the root cause of her problems.

You can spend billions to fight crimes like armed robbery and kidnapping but this bomb issues and the Jos crisis are politically motivated. spending billions will not solve it brother, we must go to the root cause of our political problems to solve some of these so called security issues. The government has wasted money to secure the Niger-delta but the problem is still there because you have to include the political solution as well and that is my point.

If you want to blame the government and how your money is being spent please go ahead but my advice for you, remember the political issues because your opponents there are not wearing kid gloves.

The government is not made up of pdp alone but you erred when you said the security chief is busy concerning himself about goodlucks campaign, that was very wrong of you to say which is why it seems i am against you. You can't try to blame the government when it is clear that your definition of the government is the pdp all along. They are surely responsible for providing all that but the government we are talking about here goes all the way back even to the 1960s and 1970s. Like i told you before i surely do blame the security chiefs for not doing their jobs but it is important for us to define this government that we are blaming. Anyone that wants to just blame the pdp government is not sincere about solving the problems of Nigeria and that's the issue i am raising.

You can see all over the thread people blaming pdp without thinking that's why i was pissed why you also associated the NSA with goodluck. It does not portray you as different from them even if you want to sound different or you are actually different.
