Hope these students really knows what they just termed to be new as innovation is clearly different from invention. I clearly do not see how these two students could do better than the technocrats that drafted our present education system. The same system that has been copied by other countries all over the world. Well anyway won't judge them that much until i see the full report or so called DVD. We have blueprints and papers that has been made to fix our problems in this country but they are never implemented.

I think alj harem has some point which is very important to be incorporated into the Nigerian education system but clearly not sharia. It would be nice if those points will be focused on for detailed discussion and clearly i am not talking about religion as well. That should be striked out from our education system and government should even stop funding them to their annual trips to saudi arabia and Jerusalem.

What will they do next season that they've not done already? They're on 80 points in the league. In any other 1st tier league they would be topping the table with that points haul. Last season they closed on 96. They played CL all the way to the semis without conceding a goal at home, and without losing a tie. They have one of the best two players in the world, and the best goalie. Ronaldo's goals tally (almost 80 goals in over 80 games for the club) is phenomenal in Europe. And they were already doing all this last season before Jose showed up.
You clearly did not understand what the guy was saying and it has nothing to do really with the reply you gave lol. There will be movement of players in and out of Madrid and he will be having something closer to the kind of team he wants. Mourinho bought sneider in his second year at inter and they played better than the first year which will be the same in Madrid. It is not about point haul, Ronaldos performance e .t.c but the way Madrid is going to play generally and the fundamental changes that will be made in the team.

The federal government yesterday announced the

approved federal universities which will open in September this year.
The former vice chancellor of the University of Lagos, Oye Ibidapo-Obe
who is now the vice chancellor of Federal University, Ndufu-Alike,
Ebonyi state. Others include Abdulmumini Rafindadi for Federal
University, Lokoja, Kogi state; Ekanem Ikpi Braide for Federal

While announcing the appointments at a press briefing on Wednesday in Abuja, Minister of Education

Ruqqayatu Rufai explained that the decision of the
federal government to establish the universities was informed by the
desire to provide the access to university education to a larger number
of qualified candidates who are annually stranded due to lack of
carrying capacity by the existing universities.

The appointments, according to the minister, take
effect immediately even as she directed the Joint Admission and
Matriculation Board (JAMB) to facilitate students’ intake into the nine
universities by September this year.

She noted that the creation of the new universities
was also informed by the principle of equity in the distribution of

federal universities to cover all the states of the federation saying
“there are at present 12 states without federal universities”.

Ekiti State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has announced the ancient town of Ikole-Ekiti, headquarters of Ikole Local Government Area of the state, as the site of the new federal university allocated to the South-West geopolitical zone.

Fayemi, who made the declaration on Monday, while hosting the Minister of State for Education, Chief Kenneth Gbagi, said the decision to site the university in Ikole-Ekiti was informed by the need to give the people of the Northern part of the state an opportunity of enjoying dividends of democracy.

While on an inspection visit to the site, alongside the minister, the people of the town praised Fayemi for not toeing the path of former governors in the country who influenced the location of similar projects to their hometowns.

The new university will make use of the site of the Agricultural Development Project (ADP) in Ikole town, which was said to have satisfied the choice of balance in the location of tertiary institutions in the state.

According to the minister, the choice of the location of the university was purely that of the number one citizen of the state, which he said Governor Fayemi rightly exercised in the announcement of Ikole-Ekiti.

Fayemi disclosed that the university would focus on Agricultural Engineering, Biotechnology and Mining, which he said he believed would be of benefit to the people of Ekiti being an agrarian state.

AjanleKoko:
Thanks to Mourinho as well, for creating the perfect atmosphere for this:
Real Madrid's Xabi Alonso: The relationship with some Barcelona players is broken.
The relationship between the members of the Spanish team has never been one and they try most times just to play as a team. That is one of the reason that spain now plays two defensive midfielders because debosky has to satisfy the various interest in that team. That is the same reason that valdes will never man the post provided that casilas still remains in that team. Guardiola will never coach spain except if there are no madrid players in that team and i very much know that the relationship after the first classicos will surely be broken.

The pattern of blame always follows the same direction from the barca camp and i am very much not surprised by that. I remember all barca fans supporting Pep when he threw the ball away before ronaldo pushed him aside. See football is a fair game and why should you pick the ball and a player is running to pick it from you gently only for you to throw it away? Why can't he just leave the ball for ronaldo to pick it and due to that circumstance i put the blame on both of them.

Now to this incident again, mourinho is the cause of the crisis because he talks too much. I have always wanted to ask that this was a man that spent four good years in barcelona even going on to win a copa dey rey for them. At the final of that match in santiago bernabue he said he could feel the obsession against madrid and after leaving he wishes to come back to coach barcelona. You can hate him for all i care but during the course of his career barcelona tried to bring him back to coach the team before pep was chosen.

Barcelona and mourinho have personal scores to settle between them and that is the spill over we see today in the classicos. This is the first time that johan cruff will be abusing a real madrid coach just because of the hatred he has for the man. Barcelona as an institution also hates him with great passion and even if he goes on to coach valencia or Liverpool, we will surely have the same results. We have been playing classicos with different coaches but since the arrival of barca number one enemy then the rules of the game changed. It is now soaked up with tension, fights and even pedro running to hit is fellow Spaniards and rolling on the floor. Pinto waiting to beat up arbeloa on the touch line that resulted in him having a red card.

One thing i have come to realize about barca fans is that, they hardly want to see things objectively and put blame on themselves. Is it surprising that we want to paint mourinho as black and the club with the most beautiful football is receiving condemnation also all over the world?. The truth of the matter is that, this is a battle between barca and mourinho and has nothing to do with madrid in the first place. But because we have a classico and some spanish players involved then it will surely spill over. Did you watch the animosity that was displayed when Argentina just recently played Portugal because of the ronaldo versus messi competition?.

I have learnt alot over my time here and of recent i choose to just ignore stuffs and stay at my corner without replying. I have seen so many abuses about madrid fans and mourinho groupies on this forum that surely has broken the relationship i have with people here. I doubt i would have answered or replied if it was some other barca fans saying this about alonso. It is because you were the one that posted the question and if someday the signs i am seeing escalates beyond this. I will just stay and maintain my corner, we all have a life outside laliga, classicos and the spanish national team and i won't be having headache over those stuffs  like i gain anything in the first place.

Just airing my views, doesn't matter to me if it convinces someone or not and they can have whatever view they wish to have because it is least of my troubles.

Real Madrid fans in Barcelona have complete faith in their team

Laura Navas (Barcelona) / Translation by Michael J. O'Donnell

Hundreds of Real Madrid fans have been gathering at the team's hotel in Barcelona since early this morning. They all have complete faith in the team and are sure it will turn the aggregate score around to reach the 28 May Wembley final. "We will win 3-0 and manage to be at Wembley," they say, "Real Madrid never give up and they will prove it at Camp Nou."

Many come from all around Spain and others live in Barcelona, but they all share the same mentality. "We will win at Camp Nou and score five goals to end all debates," says Sergio, who comes from Zaragoza.

Next to him is a group of young men who wave their scarves and make their own statement. "We will use all our artillery: Cristiano Ronaldo, Adebayor, Benzema and Higuain. We deserve to win after what happened in the first leg."

Isabel and Maria won't miss the match either. They came from Venezuela with their parents and only think about earning a victory. "We've come a long way," they say, "but it will be worth it because we are sure Real Madrid will win the match and reach the final. We support Mourinho. He is the best coach and will help us win our tenth European Cup title."
We have always comeback in history and this is not an exception while remaining absolutely in faith of our team to archive this aim tonight.

We deserve to be in the final and we will pass through camp nou to wembly to lift the Uefa champions league.

GIDEON OKAR AND 2011 ELECTIONS

By Remi Oyeyemi

“Our history is replete with numerous and uncontrollable instances of callous and insensitive dominatory repressive intrigues by those who think it is their birthright to dominate till eternity the political and economic privileges of this great country to the exclusion of the people of the Middle Belt and the south. They have almost succeeded in subjugating the Middle Belt and making them voiceless and now extending same to the south.”

-Major Gideon Orkar

In the wake of the riots that are greeting the declaration of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the elected President of the geographical expression called Nigeria, it has become necessary for us to once again reassess our “nationhood” and the illusion it represents as we all continue to make fruitless efforts to patch things up, act like ostrich and pretend that we are making what Kennedy Emetulu called “Mirage of Progress” in his article of April 17, 2011.

It is very easy to come out here and begin to condemn the acts of our Hausa/Fulani brothers for protesting what they deem as “unfairness,” “cheating,” “rigging,” “electoral fraud” and what have you. It is also very easy to begin to condemn them for the way and manner that they have protested as they have been burning down houses of their perceived “internal enemies” among them which did not leave out some of their traditional rulers. It is also easy for many of us, with our prejudices and biases, to begin to judge and condemn them for wearing their emotions on their hands.

The unacceptability of what is happening in the enclave of our Hausa/Fulani brothers is not in doubt. But one recognizes their rights to complain and protest despite the fact that their leaders are, in many ways than one, and with the help of their installed satellites in every ethnic Nation that comprises Nigerian tragedy, the creators of the present perilous condition for the Nigerian State. We can condemn their mode of reaction, but we can not be upset about them expressing their rights to complain about their situation, no matter what that situation is and or how it came about.

This writer would not gloat that our Hausa/Fulani brothers are now at the receiving end of what they have done to the rest of the country since 1960 when they have rigged everything in their own favor to the disadvantage of the Southerners and the Minorities in the Middlebelt of Nigeria. It would not serve any purpose to gloat, deride and blindly condemn their actions, no matter how unacceptable such actions are.

To adopt the modality of condemnation without the concomitant understanding of their right to be what they seek to be would be an unfair approach in assessing the present conflagration. It would equal intellectual dishonesty. This is because it is like complaining about the unsavory taste of the fruits of a despicable tree rather than seek ways to uproot the tree that has continued to produce these unwanted fruits. It is important that we all tell ourselves some home truth about ourselves and stop, at least for once, to think about our situation.

On April 22, 1990, when Major Gideon Orkar (may God bless his perfect soul) attempted to cleanse Nigeria and put it on the right path, it was the agents of the Hausa/Fulani oligarchy through its Caliphate section of the “Nigerian Army” that aborted that effort. Several events before this coup, dating back to 1960 and events since then have shown that Nigeria has never been one, it could never be one and it would never be one. That our Hausa/Fulani brothers are fighting these days in reaction to the election of GEJ, engaging in acts of arson, killing and maiming is evidence that Nigerians do not see things the same way. No matter how this dice is rolled, it boils to the same conclusion.

An examination of the chants by our Hausa/Fulani brothers would attest to the fact that some of the undercurrent reasons for their anger could be traced to religio-cultural differences, among many others. This issue of culture is very pertinent because as argued severally before, it is the basis for the formation of philosophical understanding of the world around us. This is what determines our understanding of politics, economy, religion and social context. The fact that the ethnic Nations in Nigeria are very different in this way(s) is the first fundamental impediment, among many others, to building a nation out of the geographical expression called Nigeria.

The culture of our Hausa/Fulani brothers is an example of what domination is all about. Dominating their environment by all means is part of their characteristics. This is why they do not question their own rulers and do not hold them accountable. This is why poverty has been the lot of the masses of the north and they do not seem to be bothered by it. They think that the ruler could not be questioned and that whatever he does is all well and good. It is this characteristic that they have brought to bear on their relationship with the rest of us in Nigeria. Listen to Major Orkar:

“Our history is replete with numerous and uncontrollable instances of callous and insensitive dominatory repressive intrigues by those who think it is their birthright to dominate till eternity
the political and economic privileges of this great country to the exclusion of the people of the Middle Belt and the south.

They have almost succeeded in subjugating the Middle Belt and making them voiceless and now extending same to the south.”

Major Orkar then added the following:

“Another major reason for the change is the need to stop intrigues, domination and internal colonisation of the Nigerian state by the so-called chosen few. This, in our view, has been and is still responsible for 90 percent of the problems of Nigerians. This indeed has been the major clog in our wheel of progress.

This clique has an unabated penchant for domination and unrivalled fostering of mediocrity and outright detest for accountability, all put together have been our undoing as a nation.”

In as much as many of us in other parts of Nigeria understandably detest this our Hausa/Fulani brothers’ perspective to life, it is this writers view that we have no right to determine for our Hausa/Fulani brothers the way and manner to organize and manage their lives. While the rest of us have inalienable rights to resist them and not allow them to impose their own world view or culture on the rest of us, we have no right to deny them what they want, regardless of how despicable it sounds or looks to the rest of us. I believe this is the reason that Major Orkar made the following pronouncements in his broadcast:

“In the light of all the above and in recognition of the negativeness of the aforementioned aristocratic factor, the overall progress of the Nigerian state a temporary decision to excise the following states namely, Sokoto, Borno, Katsina, Kano and Bauchi states from the Federal Republic of Nigeria comes into effect immediately ………………”

It was my brilliant younger brother, Barrister Ayo Turton, who called the attention of this writer to the fact that these states that were excised from Nigeria by Major Orkar and those that were created out of them subsequently, are actually where General Mohamadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the Congress of Progressive Change (CPC) had his victories in the election. These areas are also where acts of arson, maiming and killing are now going on. These are also the Sharia States of Nigeria.

To rectify identified problems, Major Gideon Orkar suggested the following:

“In the light of all the above and in recognition of the negativeness of the aforementioned aristocratic factor, the overall progress of the Nigerian state a temporary decision to excise the following states namely, Sokoto, Borno, Katsina, Kano and Bauchi states from the Federal Republic of Nigeria comes into effect immediately until the following conditions are met.

The conditions to be met to necessitate the re-absorption of the aforementioned states are as following:

(i) To install the rightful heir to the Sultanate, Alhaji Maccido, who is the people’s choice.

(ii) To send a delegation led by the real and recognised Sultan Alhaji Maccido to the federal government to vouch that the feudalistic and aristocratic quest for domination and operation will be a thing of the past and will never be practised in any part of the Nigeria state.

By the same token, all citizens of the five states already mentioned are temporarily suspended from all public and private offices in Middle Belt and southern parts of this country until the mentioned conditions above are met.

They are also required to move back to their various states within one week from today. They will, however, be allowed to return and joint the Federal Republic of Nigeria when the stipulated conditions are met.

In the same vein, all citizens of the Middle Belt and the south are required to come back to their various states pending when the so-called all-in-all Nigerians meet the conditions that will ensure a united Nigeria. A word is enough for the wise.”

The Gideon Orkar wisdom eloquently expressed in the above quotes is very pertinent and very instructive. The message in the above quote is very clear – that we all need to start afresh, at least with every man being in charge of his territory and his destiny.

Evidently, we all do not agree on what kind of country we want Nigeria to be. Nigeria means a lot of different things to different Nigerians and their ethnic nationalities. All of the ethnic nationalities seem to want different things out of Nigeria. They all have different understanding of the world and are all entitled to it. For this and other reasons that have been discussed elsewhere, a viable country would not emerge from Nigeria despite the fact that some of us delusively hunger for this illusion.

This is why one is calling on all and sundry to listen to our hearts and use our heads. We should accept the incontrovertible, unassailable inalienable right of all to SELF DETERMINATION. As Bob Marley sang while quoting Marcus Garvey:

“Everyman’s got the right to decide his own destiny. And in this judgment there is no partiality.”

In essence, there should not be any need for continued bloodletting. There is no need to continue to incubate incessant social atrophy, political anarchy, religious mayhem and economic chaos. There is no need to continue to waste, by our acts of inaction, cowardice and selfishness, innocent lives of our young men, women and children. There is no need to allow ourselves to be pushed to the point where we begin to shoot at ourselves just to liberate our respective nationalities from the Nigerian quagmire.

There is no doubt that there are some who believe in the entity called NIGERIA. This group of latter day nationalists see themselves as “patriotic” and is always quick to call those who call for the BREAK UP of Nigeria as “ethnic bigots” or “tribalists.” It is one’s belief that the calling of names is functionally related to weak and untenable arguments in making the case for the desirability of Nigeria. Given the abundance of evidence of the last fifty years, given the realities of today in our lives and given the hopelessness of Nigeria’s future, insisting on ONE NIGERIA at all costs is an act of wickedness, enslavement and unadulterated sadism.

It is time the latter day nationalists and the protagonists of NIGERIAN UNITY at all costs cease acting as slave drivers. It is time they cease constituting themselves as stumbling blocks to the self determination of the peoples of Nigeria. It is time they cease being anti-democratic and allow the peoples of Nigeria to have a say in determining their destinies. We can not continue to be afraid of the people. We can not continue to shove down their throats a country which it seems, they do not really want. But to be clear about this, let us organize internally conducted plebiscite (by which it is meant within the confines of each ethnic nationality) on the Nigerian question. It has to be whether we all want Nigeria or not. If yes, how? If not, thou shall let my people go. And who knows, Nigerians may as well opt to have Nigeria. But at this point it would be the decision of the people whom I guess would also address the recurrent issue of its structural problem that is considered as enslaving by some ethnic nationalities.

We should all see beyond the riots going on in the enclave of our Hausa/Fulani brothers. They have the right to want to leave Nigeria and form a SHARIA country, if the greed about OIL MONEY would not make them vacillate. Those of us from other ethnic nationalities who desire different futures are also entitled to our rights to be in charge of our destinies. It is time to address all this because we can only suffocate the desire of the peoples for so long. If we, the various peoples of the ethnic nationalities that make up Nigeria do not want it, Nigeria will not survive regardless of how much we want it or patch it up. It is better that we do the right thing on time and endeavor to have it done peacefully – RESTRUCTURE or BREAK UP NIGERIA.

UEFA has thrown out the protests filed by both RM and Barca:

I assume though, that the disciplinary actions filed against both clubs as well as Mourinho remain.
Yes they still remain and will be decided this coming friday after the semi-finals.

Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 2-0 at Camp Nou in the semifinals of the 2001/02 Champions League, which they eventually won in Glasgow

Jose Mourinho's team needs to win 2-0 at Camp Nou on Tuesday in order to at least draw the aggregate score in the UCL semifinals. The Whites accomplished this feat in the 2001/02 edition of the tournament thanks to goals from Zidane and McManaman. They went on to win the final against Bayer Leverkusen at Hampden Park, taking their ninth European Cup title.

Everyone agrees it will be difficult, but no one gives up hope. The only difference with the situation they were in nine years ago is that the match in Barcelona was then the first leg of the semifinals as opposed to the return.

Zidane's goal came in the 10th minute and McManaman's in injury time. Barcelona and Real Madrid drew 1-1 in the Bernabeu return leg, meaning the Camp Nou victory was really what clinched them a spot in the final.

This historic precedent is just what Real Madrid need to have even greater faith in their chances on Tuesday. Their only intention is to defeat Barcelona at Camp Nou to reach the 28 May Wembley final, where they would try to win their tenth European Cup trophy.

Real Madrid have always stood out for their hard work, drive and pursuit of victory to their very last breath. The club's values go hand in hand with unbelievable comebacks and turnarounds accomplished in Europe by the team throughout its history. Jose Mourinho's side is ready to pick up from where its predecessors left off and will travel to Barcelona sure of its chances to turn things around in the Champions League semifinals. The squad and all Madridistas dream of reaching the 28 May final at Wembley.

Iker Casillas
"The names of the two teams that will play the final haven't been inscribed yet. You never know what may happen. We will play in Barcelona knowing a final is set to take place in a month and that any of the four teams still in the championship may be in it."

Sergio Ramos
"We are in a complicated spot in this tie, but we'll have to go for it at Camp Nou. We're hopeful. We will try to do a good job and look for a victory."

Higuain
"We have a great chance in the Champions League and we will fight to the death. What matters is that we stick together to reach the final we are all so excited about. We're good enough to win the tie, so we will try our best. We must be proud and humble. The fact that Barça defeated us in Madrid means we can also defeat them in Barcelona."

Kaka
"We expect to play a great game. We have faith. Real Madrid can never give up a fight."

Jorge Valdano, Director General
"Madridismo always believes in comebacks. If there was just one team that had the habit of being heroic, it would be Real Madrid. Nothing should deprive us of feeling hope and excitement for Tuesday's match."
