Ironically, lamidi cownu and his ipob pigs have been crying profusely over same.

You are a disgrace to human beings. Go away with your racism and useless culture that have kept your people behind in everything. Try that with your kids and you will see that you will be disowned by all of them. This is 21st century, people should be allowed to marry who they desire
On the contrary, it is people like you who pretend these differences don't exist that are the world's problem. My place is probably better advanced than yours. In the last 60 years, how has this so-called multiculturalism helped Nigeria in particular and the world at large?

Instead, the result is dysfunctional homes, confused children and distorted sexuality. My culture is in NO WAY useless.

I won't let left leaning anarchist rob me of my identity in the name of a globalization.

My people have been shortchanged because of their liberal disposition.

Yoruba to Yoruba, Igbo to Igbo, Ijaw to Ijaw,Ibibio to Ibibio, Fulani to Fulani etc.

We will be doing ourselves a disservice if we promote this inter ethnic trash.

Today many people of African descent in the diaspora wish their African culture was largely preserved.

If we fail to preserve our respective cultures, tomorrow our children will ask us why we failed to.

@OP, What has nepotism got to do with an obvious typo? You might want to look up the meaning of the word.

There's nothing wrong with the second comma. Google 'appositives'.
It has a lot to do with nepotism! If not for nepotism, that kind of 'mistake' wouldn't occur.

How can you compare rape to marriage?

Did the Arabs marry their victims?

When is being biafran at heart means you hate the other ethnic group?
Where did you get that from?
Biafran is a nationality just like Togo or Ghana.
Citizens are allowed to have their individual feelings.

You are a pool of irrational mess.
Biafra? Nationality!#?!?

Where?

My friend stop getting emotional!

There have been several documented cases of racists getting married to people of a race they don't like. Several racists reluctantly allow their children marry other races.

Racist [wo]men get married to another race because of the kind of child they would like to have, their stereotypes on sexuality, the person's wealth or status in society.

The same principles apply when it comes to ethnicity.

A German would most likely marry a German before he marries a French or English.

In Nigeria we should see things in that same light.

An Igbo should not be demonized for wanting to marry an Igbo or wanting his children to marry Igbo.

Nigeria is not one, we should stop telling ourselves that lie.

Every citizen of Nigeria should be treated within the confines of law. We should stop trying to distort people's cultures through these thoughtless experiments that have failed in other parts of the world.

Inter ethnic marriage can only work to a certain degree when one of both parties submits to one of the cultures. It causes confusion. Many of such children have identity crisis.

Why do you think it isn't?
I believe nepotism causes most of the inefficiencies we witness in virtually every segment of the Nigerian society.

Just two sentences. Nigeria's media messed it up. Would it be right to say English is no longer Nigeria's official language? Where do they recruit journalists? At bars, mechanic workshops or brothels?
How could this be possible?
Nigeria's problems are more than I ever imagined! This is serious.

Most of the inter tribal marriages that take place are among commoners.

So there is very little to gain.

Only a fool would give his children to people he hates.
If I hate you, you can't marry my child.
The biggest test of openness is marriage.

On one hand, you claim that parents who don't give their children due to narrow individualised experiences are not necessarily bigots.
Experiences that have given them a bigoted mentality.

And then somehow you claim that parents that actually support inter ethnic marriage can be bigots.

Your reasoning is wack.

I would rather give the benefit of the doubt to the parents that walk the talk.

A parents that willingly gives his child to strangers is not a bigot.

A parent that does not support inter ethnic marriage due to individualised experience is a bigot with a capital B.
When the so called Arab Sudanese were raped non Arab women. The primary purpose of their act was to "dilute" the other 'race'.

It is uninformed people that think ethnic mixtures is a form of being exposed. The worst bigots in human history always applied inter ethnic or inter religious reproduction as form of control and subjugation. The Korean/Chinese women who were taken for the imperial army of Japan were called 'Comfort women '.

Imperial Japan encouraged their army to father children with women they felt were culturally inferior to them. As long as people are being treated unjustly or consider others to be inferior, they have no business getting married to themselves.

The average Igbo is still a Biafran at heart, why marry your enemy when you have not healed from the trauma of the Nigera-Biafra war?
It is plain stupidity.

That parents are open or tolerate an inter ethnic marriage does not mean both or one party in the union does not have an ulterior motive.

Even poor people can have ulterior motives. Some people marry others to have access to certain places and positions.

So igbos are no longer the tribalistic people that only like marrying themselves.

You people should pick a struggle.

If igbos revert back to the good old ways, we would never hear the end of it across Nigeria.

na Education and exposure change things sha.
To start with, marrying outside your ethnic nation does not prove you are not a bigot.

Many bigots marry from other ethnic groups for various reasons.

Education and exposure changed what?

Biko, they should revert back to the old ways!

We are not doing ourselves or our societies any good by demonising same ethnic group unions. That should be the choice of preference. Inter ethnic marriages should be exceptions.

If I start to expound on the south south as tribes very few would stand.

una own full, come dey pour for ground.

Do you know how many strangers troop to the East everyday to pay bride price?
Practically paying hundreds of thousands as bride price.

Igbo men are the best husband material.
Marrying us is a privilege. I don't need to debate that.

We used to forbid our igbo children from marrying strangers, but the complain from everywhere was too much.

it was like a national issue.
Igbo men should marry their Igbo women now!
This topic shouldn't have been if one Igbo man married that Igbo girl.
If Igbo men are truly the "best husband material " she should find one and leave the guy his mum doesn't want an Igbo daughter in law.

If you do a survey now in all the states in Nigeria, people that are married to other ethnicities apart from theirs are mostly married to Igbos. Igbos are the ones doing everything in their power to marry non-Igbos.

There are also uncountable stories of south south spouses doing strong thing to their partners.

There are streets in some south south states where you have only widows.
The husbands have been cut down very early.

There are places in the south south where the women drink infidelity like water.

There are places in the south south where getting a good husband is impossible because of generational laziness and drunkenness.

There are a lot of stories to go round. Where another person end, that is where yours begin.

Let us all be mad together.
That region is multicultural. If you want to bash any ethnic group be specific!

The people are lazy, women kill their husbands etc and yet Igbo men and women come in droves, begging people to marry them!

I am 33 and I come from a state from the south south. I met a girl in Lagos 4 years ago who is from the south east and we have been very good friends ever since then.

I have developed very strong affection for her over time and we started dating. We really love each other now and we have have finalized plans to get married anytime between this year and early next year.

The issues now is that my parents are insisting I marry from my state, somebody who speaks the same language. It has caused me to have issues with my mother because she is the orchestra of all this tribal bigotry.

Please lala and house memeber make una advice me abeg. I have found someone who truly complements my life I really sincerely love this lady. Thanks
They know why they are telling you that, you are probably being motivated by appearance. Most times, after the marriage, cultural issues set in.

Make sure you know what you are getting entangled in .

I had a cousin who was murdered by a wife from the South east. She later married somebody from her area and inherited all of my cousin's assets. I also heard of somebody, also from the SS region. His wife from the South east nearly murdered him through wrong medication. She managed to sell most of his assets.

Many times you have difficulty knowing more about people who are very far from your area.

Your mum may be right, she may have genuine misgivings. That she doesn't approve an 'outsider' does not necessarily make her a bigot.

Port Harcourt (Ikwerre: Igwuocha;[12][13][14] Pidgin: Po-ta-kot[3][Note 1]; Igbo: Ugwu Ọcha) also called Pitakwa is the capital and largest city of Rivers State, Nigeria. It lies along the Bonny River and is located in the Niger Delta.

Forget the politics of Biafra. That was the original name the indigenous Ikwerre people called it ( just like the native name of Lagos is Eko). You can see that name on older colonial maps of Nigeria made before 1970, Ask the elders of the land. The colonial masters opened up and built the Sea port, railway station, and Township and named it after a white man, Mr Harcourt. Are you saying the indigenes don't have a name for their land before the whiteman came with their own name.
Not true!
The part this incident happened was never part of Ikwerre area. Port Harcourt was created when the European colonial officials approached the leaders of Okrika, an Ijaw community in Rivers state for a land they could use in building a port.

Okrika brought a substantial amount of the land and approached their Diobu neighbours ( Rebisi clan of Ikwerre) for additional land.

It is no coincidence that the area called PH " township is also part of the Ijaw area.

It is your good for nothing state that is dead, not Bayelsa. If governments at the federal level had paid half of the attention they've paid to some other states to Bayelsa, Bayelsa would have been much better! Bayelsa people have been in charge of their state for close to 21 years. Despite all the challenges, progress has been made. Yes, a lot more could have been done but Bayelsa doesn't in any way deserve the deliberate demonization. We know the reasons behind it, you Nigerians want to justify your unjust treatment of Bayelsa and the other oil producing states. We know the playbook.

What business does Tompolo or Asari Dokubo have with Anambra?

Tompolo is Ijaw from Delta and Asari is Ijaw from Rivers. As Ijaw people we find ourselves between the Igbo, Yoruba and several smaller groups.

That doesn't make us Igbo or Yoruba, neither does it make our smaller neighbours Ijaw.

I am sick and tired of this unbridled ignorance you Nigerians exhibit in an arrogant manner.

No supplement was replicated to replace whole foods like fruits and vegetables. Moreover, needs for fruits and vegetables vary based on many factors.

Irrelevant things like?
I am saying those who fail to prepare , prepare to fail. There should be a contingency plan now and a post covid 19 plan, a plan to be implemented once the issue is over. You prepare to take advantage once the issue is over, you take care of your people until the pandemic is over. If you understand this twin concepts, understanding me wouldn't be difficult.

Multiply 100k by 100 million people then tell us what Nigeria's GDP is.

This is exactly my grouse with most Nigerians. We never really analyse the economy.
1. We don't have 100 million BVN in Nigeria
2. If we use an exchange rate of 400 naira per USD, giving 100 million people 250usd will amount to 25 billion usd . That amount can be raised by the state. Nonetheless, that is not the figure I am suggesting.
3. The figure I am suggesting should be close to 40 percent of 25 billion usd
4. Nigeria has about 40 million bvn. Meaning that 10 billion usd will be the most we would require for the scheme.
5. In terms of GDP, 25 billion USD is less than 7 percent of Nigeria's GDP.
