Actually, developing football is not about attending and doing well in competitions but building sustainable and long lasting structures. China might win the world cup one day to everybody's surprise. We need to adopt an attitude of building a legacy that will last for generations Our vision for football has to go beyond getting to the semi-final of the 2022 world cup. for example President Xi Jinping, a football enthusiast, wants the country to have at least 20,000 football training centres and 70,000 pitches in place by 2020. Also, France has a football academy that produces most of their stars. it is called the Clairefontaine football academy and it is one of the best in the world. This is why other countries will keep dominating football Prior to the establishment of Clairefontaine, France didn't acquire much successes at international football, and even at big tournaments, France had never won any official trophies in comparison to its neighbors Italy and Germany. In the 1960s, Spain and England also acquired successes, forcing France to establish a football centre to catch up This is why efforts like the Barcelona academy in Lagos and the Real Madrid academy in Rivers state and Generally, football academies in Nigeria need to be appreciated. These initiatives are the best way to create a sustainable structure and not our fire brigade and shallow approach to football development. I will highlight what these initiatives are doing to the best of my ability MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY |
maidaboi:How did Zaidu Sanusi manage to break the Porto jinx on Nigerian players. It is the most surprising thing this year. Anyway if he plays regularly for Porto for 3 or more years then he could head to a bigger club |
charlesemeka85:The Turkish league is at the same level as the Belgian league. It is a top 12 league. He is playing in the first division there and he is playing regularly We are saying he should be given a chance and let us see what he can do. Incidentally, the turkish league is better than the Swiss league |
DrLikita12:Thank you. Grassroots football is underrated and is growing rapidly in Nigeira. Ahmed Musa is himself a product of grassroots football. The future of Nigerian football is bright because of stuff like this |
Chrisbro2:Amaju Pinick should be sacked. the huy is a thief the lmc should also be disdolved. the people in charge are irresponsible |
Subzero047:we underrate moses simon in this forum. if he keeps things up he might end up in a big team ike atalanta or leipzig |
Subzero047:If he is tired, he should win the Champions league and leave That will cement his legacy. Man city badly need the Champions league as they have not won it before. After that he can leave |
Subzero047:I dont understand. What do you mean. Do you mean the style of play or what? |
Kog45:I hope so too. Nigerian football badly needs something like this. They even brought modern sporting equipment and have an academy headed by Austin Eguavon Their coach is a Brazilian called Rafael Everton. Nigerian football needs to be rebranded and i sincerely hope they succeed |
VANDREZZAR FC WILL REVOLUTIONIZE NIGERIAN FOOTBALL I believe Vandrezzar fc is a visionary club that will revolutionize club and national football in Nigeria. They are run like an European club and they have a vision. In the next 5 years they will be known globally. Its rare for Africans to do things with a vision but Vandrezzar is different. They are run like an European club with modern facilities and i am excited anytime i think about them. Allready they are the most followed Nigerian club on social media and they are making huge strides Their website is top notch with information about the players THIS CLUB WILL CHANGE NIGERIAN FOOTBALL I believe we should appreciate their efforts here. They understand how to develop football and they are going about it with gusto |

WHY TAIWO AWONIYI CAN NOW PLAY IN LIVERPOOL OR AT LEAST ENGLAND According to the new British league, players playing in a top 5 league can easily move to England. This makes it easy for Taiwo Awoniyi to get a work permit to play in the English league. https://worldfootballindex.com/2020/12/work-permits-premier-league-post-brexit-english-clubs-efl-libertadores/ Quote from the site "One example of the new rules working for a player where the old ones didn’t, is Liverpool’s Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi. After five years of failing to get a work permit under the old requirements, Liverpool should now be able to get one for Awoniyi as is playing regularly on loan in the German Bundesliga with Union Berlin." |
maidaboi:Peter Olayinka needs to move to a top 5 league. He needs to take his game to a better level and a more global audience. I learnt some German teams were interested in him |
David Okereke scores for club brugge tonight. He is a very talented winger |
TheLoneCitizen:Did you watch the match |
LET US CREATE AN AWARD FOR GRASSROOTS FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR. Beleive it or not grassroots football is quite active in Nigeria. This should be for footballers who were discovered by our football academies and in youth competitions. My two nominees are 1. Netaka Dembele (discovered in a football competion in Jos and a product of the famous gbs academy) 2. Adewale Oladoye (part of our failed under 20. He is touted as the Nigeria Patrick Viera and he is a product of one of our football academies) There may be others i dont know I believe this will encourage grassroots football in Nigeria and encourage youngsters born in Nigeria. It will also make people realize that there is talent in Nigerian football that needs to be harnessed and encouraged |
Odunayaw:I don't know for him. What is akinkunmi amoo tolu arokodare ishaq abdulrazaq Paul mukairo etc doing there. Our football academies are doing a fine job at thar |
do4luv14:According to allnigeriasoccer.com club brugge have lowered the price of Emmanuel Dennis. West brom are interested in him. He could go in January and help them in attack now that his price is affordable Two things come to mind How good is he What of work permit issues |
1realBobby:i mentioned it before that he is too limited as a forward. Most modern forwards can play as a lone striker. But we can use him sometimes not all the time. not all coaches will like him cause of his limitations |
lloydtruth:They are not total failures. Awoniyi did well in Belgium and he is getting back to form in Unioun Berlin. In fact, he has two goals and two assists allready Muazum at least is in Portugal first division and he is playing regularly. I will like to see him in a friendly for Nigeria to check out if he is still good. He has played in austria and in the champions league before. Isaac success is on a 6 months injury and should go back to spain from England the others are in the portuguese second division and it is bad but not too bad. But Awoniyi will come good this season. He is picking form and will make it. Too many loan moves from Liverpool affected him as he was loaned all over Europe |
K.r.c gent vs Anderletch Paul Mukairu starts for Anderletch along with Lucas Mmecheta. Both of them seem to have struck up an understanding and it is amazing how Mukairu has entered the starting 11 in a short period of time. Also, Paul Onuachu starts for K.r.c genk as usual |
Subzero047:both of them including moses simon taiwo awoniyi muazum (in cd nacional in Portugal) were part of our 2015 under 20 team this shows our youth and grassroots football is working |
jubilantagida:I think we should explore other option like dessers, Sadiq Umar, Moffi, Taiwo Awoniyi e.t.c. or even more foreign borns like lucas Nmecheta instead. We have upcoming attacking talent we need to give a chance |
BascoVanVeli:The problem with him is actually that he does not fit into our pattern. He is a good goal scorer but his all round play is very poor for a forward. He seems to lack agression, mobility, dribling skills etc and cannot play as a lone striker. It's a question of pattern and style of play. The problem is there are other players that can easily fit into our pattern. From emmanuel dessers and even to Sadiq Umar. Sadiq Umar's all round play is spectacular. He is very skillfull, mobile and creative. Onuachu can only play in one limited pattern that is why he struggles in Nigeria His footballing skills are too limited |
paul mukairu with an assist for anderletch. this boy us impressive |
DrKlever:He is right. Ejuke is on the bench for cska moscow while ndidi and iheanacho starts for leicester. I just checked it online |
we have play makers but we dont appreciate them there is obinna nwobodo of Goztepe in Turkey muazum of cd nacoonal atiemwen in dinamo zaghreb rabiu ibrahim is still active BUT WE DEDPISE THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE NOTI IN A TOP 10 LEAGUE WE HAVE TO LEARN TO APPRECIATE WHAT WE HAVE |
HOW NIGERIAN LEAGUE CAN IMPROVE The Nff and government should make it a law that no Nigerian footballer should leave Nigeria before the age of 28. Most of our best footballers go through football academies and leave without even playing in the nigerian league The few good ones in our league leave after a few years or even months. Imagine if Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Obinna Nwobodo, Keneth Omeruo, Peter Etebo etc were in Enyimba They would win many international trophies in African football. This law should be in place for 15 years. Also our local clubs should patronize football academies for players. If there is a law players cant leave before 28, football academies will be forced to sell there players to Nigerian clubs and not European agents to make money This measure should be put in place until our league can stand on its on. |
Olanrewaju Kayode (Sivaspor) vs Obinna Nwobodo (Goztepe) playing right now in the Turkish league. The two of them are in the starting 11 |
