Monaco have drawn a shortlist of 11 players to transfer-list but Onyekuru was not on the list. Wonderful but what is the source of your news |

komekn: I don't know if they are better or the failure of the British to give some form of access for former British African colonies to professional football.
I am not sure the details of the legislation but somehow players can be playing in the local leagues of Mali, Senegal, Cote De Voire, and have direct access to French league one.
By the time our so called young players in our leagues have navigated their way through the minefield of deception and manipulation. That agents and other so called interested parties have created for them. Then get to Europe then pass football trials, they are stretching the definition of young player.
Many have failed and not made it. If you go to Antwerp you will see many there almost destitute and broken. It is very sad.
You only hear of the few that made it not the the many hundreds that did not.
As it stands the easiest way for Nigerian young player to leap frog into the elite leagues of Europe. Is through the age grade national youth team particularly the U17.
And that too is not easy there have been many stories told here of what goes on in a lot of situations. Football academies are solving the agent problem to some extent. Akinkunmi amoos agent made sure he went to a club where he will be developed. We have some boys in latvia that will soon explode. Red bull salzburg also helps Africans. But i think more should still be done |

komekn: Everything you say is true, if l am honest it's close to a miracle to recover from that knee Injury and then still have the same speed. He is indeed blessed.
I had a ACL surgery rebuild after a very similar football injury myself. That was ten years ago and ayew months. And it was a huge struggle. I don't play any competitive football anymore.
The only difference we have is you consider the injuries, l consider the end result. Not the circumstances that led to the situation. This is why leagues like belgium sweden, latvia are good for african youngsters. They can then move to better leagues from there. These small leagues are patient with them and give them the time to learn from their mistakes develop and acclamatize |

TheGoodJoe: Brief insight into the Real Madrid game: The game is what I call a peep into the future of football. It was intriguing, tactically sound and with some interesting lessons.
The possessive tactical masters will clearly dominate football and it seems football will be filled with lots of them.
Individual quality is starting to gain importance. We could see the inputs of Sterling and De Bruyne played a big part in swinging the wings.
Ball playing defenders who play like passing defensive midfielders will play a key role to the successful sides. Ball playing goalkeepers are also key.
The High press. Both sides pressed highly but City came tops simply because Ederson's gulf in class with his feet to Courtois and Laporte had an immense game. His opening for passes was breath taking and his towering aerial presence was vital. Fernandinho also shows brilliant movement and work rate.
Many will criticise Varane for errors but the truth was that Guardiola knew he was limited with his ball playing skills and pressurised him when ever he had the ball. He was bound to make errors. Which brings us back to individual abilities.
Las Las, Toni Kroos and Modric are still monsters when it comes to decision making.
A big Etihad farewell to David Silva. A Legend with the capital letter L.
Throw way Salute to De Bruyne. As TheSuperNerd says, Kevin De Brains. Guardiola is changing our perception of football. Guardiola is to football what einstein isvto physics or elon musk is to science. It is not about winning trophies but CHANGING THE WAY WE SEE FOOTBALL. A first class student of medicine is inferior to someone who discovers the cure for aids and corona. Guardiola is an inventor. Guardiolas ideas are inmkvative. He brought tiki taka to the premier league when everyone said it would not work. It is not about mone or titles but innovative ground breaking ideas. I rest my case |

TheGoodJoe: The possession kings
It starts with possession. Fulham averaged 69 per cent in their opening 10 games, including 84 per cent in a 4-0 hammering of Millwall. No team in England's top two divisions has enjoyed more of the ball. Fulham take care of the ball in a similar way to City, too - their 88 per cent passing accuracy is comfortably the second-highest in the top two leagues, and only narrowly lower than City's.
https://www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11681/11827021/fulham-under-scott-parker-the-man-city-of-the-championship They are a low budget man city. I read it they are really playing like guardiola team. Our naija boys there too must be technical and good |

Olulong: Probably because he's just resuming. Hopefully he gets the chance to impress If onyekuru does not make it at monaco its not his fault. He has simply not been given a chance. Monaco is a club suffering from serious administrative problems and they seem confused. Srcondly the fact that a player is in a low club or league does not make him worse than someone in a better club or league. All those European coaches are simply wicked with African players. Beign born in Europe simply gives one priviledges. A player in croatia may be better than one in England its just opportunity. Top 5 league mentality is overrated. It has happened and will happen many times in football that a country with average players eill defeat a so called world class team. The average players were simply not given a chance. This league and club rating is good but immature. I know people will disagree but its the truth. Someone like Tolu Arokodare may become the best in 5 years. Football is a funny game. I have said my own |

"We are currently very well positioned in the front with Burkardt, Öztunali, Ji, Boetius, Quaison, Onisiwo, Mateta, Szalai, Abass and Holtmann, who can show themselves. It would make no sense to get someone"
The club will be looking to sell rather than buy. It may be sound like boasting but awoniyi is better than all these players. The coach is saying nonsense. He will get a better club. |

ChrisKels: No bro, I am not worried, if he turns out for Nigeria, he is gonna be a 4th or 5th choice striker at most. Dude doesn't offer more than Moffi, and he definitely isn't as good as Osimhen, Nacho, Nwankwo and Maja. If he was good enough, he wouldn't be headed for the Jupiler league in his prime. Quality wise, he is in the same category as Onuachu, Moffi, Sadiq and co.
Let's see who does better between him and Arokodare in the Jupiler league, should Aroko join Anderletch as predicted in the media. The main thing is we have many options in the striking position. It shows our grasroots football is developing. |

TheSuperNerd: You sabi the way... It is how it is. But In the end, it is my wish for all to fulfill their potentials or at least come close enough to doing so. And I would always recognise the efforts of any of our lads who are doing their best to bounce back. I hate recalling their faults or struggles. I focus on what they are doing now to get better and on if they are starting to show signs of progress.
Look, If Isaac Success shows the slightest chance of bouncing back today, I will be all over that and take it up without blinking an eyelid. Why is that? Well, it is partly b'cos he is a product of our youth system and he showed fine potentials when coming up. He was decent in La liga too. I don't give up easily on our talents and I keep watch over countless of them in a part of my spare time. It's well. Isaac success should go back to spain and be serious with his career. At least he was decent there. Watford may forcefully sell him if care is not taken. He is wasting their money and his talent |

BascoVanVeli: Torres deal sets winger market for Chukwueze
As Villarreal look to fund transfer moves, will they sell the Nigerian winger?
By Zhhicks Jul 29, 2020, 6:40pm CEST
Ferran Torres of Valencia is on his way to Manchester City for a tiny sum of 25m plus add ons, according to a report from Marca. This is relevant to Villarreal because an often speculated method of paying for needed reinforcements this summer has been to sell a young valuable asset, and the club only really has two of them, ‘Pou and Chukueche’ to quote our new manager.
With CB being one of the areas that already needs reinforcement, and a crowded selection of wide players and forwards who can step out wide, Chukwueze becomes the more likely of the two to move on.
It is of course possible that we spend 25m on Zambo and just find budget options to address CB and CDM, but I really don’t think that is the club’s best option. The problem is that the transfer market is like any other financial market out there, it’s about supply and demand. Ferran Torres and Samu Chukwueze are right wingers with similarly bright futures, and if one of the richest clubs in the world is only paying 25m for Ferran it really sets the market for our player as well.
In terms of shot creating actions, which include drawing fouls that lead to shots, passes that lead to a created chance, key passes, and dribbles, Chukwueze is far superior to Torres. He also covers more progressive distance, which is a fancy way of saying when he has the ball he is driving toward the opponent’s goal really effectively.
Four goals, five assists (Ferran) vs three goals two assists (Samu) is fairly inconsequential when the xG numbers are the same. Over the course of a decade players with that similar a non-penalty xG and xA are going to end up contributing to about the same number of goals. The two men go about their business a bit different but the results are largely the same. Which brings us back to our problem.
One of the big players in the winger market has now bought their man. Because City also sold Leroy Sane to Bayern, they are out of the winger market as well. Chelsea has a whole bevy of young attackers on the roster and more attackers coming in, and Real Madrid has more wingers than they can shake a stick at. What’s the market for Samu right now? Who would come in and pay more than 25m for him in this current market?
Villarreal aren’t under pressure to sell from the player’s contract situation, but I just don’t see many teams with the resources and the need to come in and buy him. If selling Samu is the plan for financing other roster moves, I think we may be a little bit stuck.
https://www.villarrealusa.com/2020/7/29/21346734/ferran-torres-samu-chukwueze-nigera-transfer-valencia-villarreal-manchester-city-leroy-sane-news Chukwueze is highly rated in Spain. He is more rated there than in nairaland. |

They can play with enyimba for a few years. I think part of the problem is most Nigerian clubs do not do any talent scouting. They just recycle old and tired players |
