Atiku, Buhari and Tinubu are driven by same thing; desire to meet personal ambitions of becoming a president at all cost. They will contest multiple times and in different parties to meet this life long ambition but have no service to offer Nigerians.
At least we have seen the best of Buhari. Atiku and Tinubu winning will offer us same thing Buhari has offered. |

BluntTheApostle: Of course.
At the end of the day, all we want is a better Nigeria.
And the most qualified candidate by a mile is Tinubu.
He is not a thief. And he has no unsettled cases of drug peddling. His degree saga has been put to rest, and his missing secondary school data is barely an issue, considering he didn't get his degree here in Nigeria where everything is set in stone.
His blueprint in Lagos has repositioned Lagos state. And his investment in human resources is unrivaled. Tinubu to me is a continuation of everything wrong with Nigerian politician. His presence alone in Aso rock is an endorsement of the old order, in policy he is not different from Buhari and has also promised to continue from where Buhari ended. As a God father, none of his prodegee have excelled outside Lagos. And mind you anybody can can do well in Lagos because Lagos is already made since independence. |

BluntTheApostle: My response is not general, but specific.
I responded to a post that says that Obi is a politician that every Southern region wants to vote for.
This is a fallacy, because Obi is barely popular outside the East.
That is the point of my response.
Political popularity does not sway me. After all, even Fashola was barely known when Tinubu introduced him to us. And we are all witnesses to what he did in Lagos state. I get your point. The truth is that whoever wins APC or PDP nomination becomes popular immediately and Nigerians will have no choice than to vote them. So the real issue lies with getting these 2 parties present us with credible alternatives not popular thieves. |
Politics › Re: 2023 Presidency: Anambra PDP To Purchase Form For Obi by PHIPEX(m): 8:17am On Feb 12, 2022 |
BluntTheApostle: Exactly.
Many Yorubas who are actually active voters don't know him.
I sampled the opinions of market women at two big markets in two different Southwest states, and not even one person knew who Obi was. They don't even know any Igbo politician.
But they know Atiku. They know Atiku but couldn't remember who was his running mate in the 2019 election even though some of them voted for Atiku. So with all your enlightenment you still believe we have to go with who is popular? Who knew Yaradua before Obj supported him? Who knew Jonathan before he became VP and president? Buhari was popular and won, see where it led us. |

IamV: On a side note ,why is kicking a cat considered animal cruelty, but whipping a horse for a sport is considered okay and normal by the same country with the highest population of "animal lovers".
For generations now, subjecting a horse to thousand of whips for sport ,which is televised in the UK ,with thousands of "animal lovers" in the background cheering on, is not considered animal cruelty, rather it's popular seen as a sport. The law generally stated that animals with backbone have a right to happiness as well as avoiding suffering,in the UK,then why is whipping a horse for a sport an exception ?
There have being data that some of this horses suffer injuries and even death after the sport, why is that not a concerned for the "animal lovers" ?
The one reason I see is that horse racing is a million dollar industry that generates lots of money ,and they are ready to condone the abuse subjected to this horses as long as they generate huge money for their economy and not really because they genuinely care about the welfare of animals in general. It's same reason why they consider gay legal but polygamy is illegal. Chicken, goat and cow can be killed but a cat can not be kicked. Very weird society, a case of the Animal farm mentality. |

Ndi Igbo and transgressions
Wherever they are, their first aim is how to dominate.
This is why they shouldn't be entrusted with power.
Check what Aguyi Ironsi did just few months he was a ruler. Check those biafra soldiers court martial by Ojukwu during the civil war, non of them are Ndi Igbo.
Check what Azikwe tried to do in Southwest (by representing the region upon the numbers of literate mind among Yorubas) before Awolowo cornered his mischievous move
Check those killed and spare by Kaduna Nzegu and Owaboshi.
They're just pretending, give power to them and be a victim of their vengeance Now that Fulani is dominating you, you have gone to hide, imagine Buhari is Igbo. Igbos are competitive anywhere, you can see it in their markets. If you are not ready for competition they will overtake you, it doesn't make them bad. |

trutharena: Again all those infrastructures will be part of government asset and it is still going to be charged as proceed from taxes. Which Inturn will be calculated as part of revenue. This is economics 101.
Can you point me to one mega infrastructural project Peter Obi built in Anambra? We know Obiano built the Airport for example, what is Peter obi highest project?
He also invested over 4bn of state money in Oriental Petroleum refinery in 2007 which they promised will be available in 2008/2009, that refinery did not start working till Obi left government. That’s another scam? Google it yourself.
That man is a scam. Which economist in his right senses even leave money in the state account instead of invest in infrastructure project?
He lacks foresight. His successor can embezzle all the money but no one can embezzle solid infrastructure projects. Can you see he is a quack economist now? At least you have agreed that we should be talking about GDP growth which measures overall impact in the state economy and not just a micro Tax income. Not all assets generate income in the short to medium term, it takes foresight for a government to engage in such and allow their predecessors take the glory when the income start coming. Growth and good governance is not measured by mega projects, that's the whack mindset that make states governors embark on a white elephant project. Obi did fantastically well in building all basic infrastructural need of Anambra. Anambra had the best road network both in rural and urban settlements under him across the country and his impact was felt across all sectors. Under him Anambra moved from 30 ranking in education to 1st till date across the country both in WAEC, NECO and JAMB, which other Governors has ever achieved that etc? Checkout his record in Health and every other sector. |

trutharena: Quack economist. Keeping tax low and having investors in your state will naturally increase state revenue because no matter how small the taxes are, as long as investors keep trooping in, the little tax they pay will be reflected in increased revenue.
Abi you no think am through? There is a reason companies are given tax holiday including Dangote who built Oshodi Apapa Express way in exchange for Tax. For this, his tax might be low, income to govt might also be low but infrastructure has been built and the citizens benefit directly. By building the infrastructure, the GDP will grow, It's not always about the money but the benefit to the citizens and that is where Obi did better than his mates. Now show me how much the GDP of the state grew within this period? So tell me who is a quack again? |
Politics › Re: How Peter Obi Performed As Governor In Terms Of IGR by PHIPEX(m): 11:17am On Feb 07, 2022 |
Propaganda and half truth. This is a governor that was busy with legal battles all through his tenure
Did you mention he was impeached and the impact it had on his policies. Yet he remained the best.
Are you aware Andy Uba became a governor in Anambra within this same period?
It is an economic strategy to keep taxes low and have investors come into your state as an alternative to high taxes which of course comes with wastages as we have seen across Nigeria. |

So PremiumTimes defense is that they reach out to Obi aide and he said he did not say that. Is that how to do journalism? Will Obi have said he said it? You go fear for Nigeria media.
Me I don’t even care, he has the right to call it a Yoruba party because it’s politics. The Yorubas also have the right to repay back if need be when he need their support at the polls.
His brethren also called APC Ewedu and Fulani party. It’s politics and you can say anything to curry favor, you shouldn’t just cry when the other side retaliate in kind. Was ACN not a Yoruba party? What is wrong in calling APGA an Igbo party? Was it not to make it a Nigerian party that made ACN merge with other parties?
