Phones5 Good Tips To Use Your Device Smartly by phonedaddy(op): 10:07am On Jun 20, 2019
Fans today we will be talking about My Smart Phone and Me.

Smartphone has become a part and parcel of life of the people of all ages. But no matter your age, there are some basic ideas for keeping mobile phone use safe and constructive. In our today's Xclub Tips, we will discuss about some simple but effective tips to make the smartphone using smarter; let's start to explore!

1. Avoiding texting while moving:

You should never text, send email, use apps or configure the phone’s GPS while driving, riding a bicycle or on a skateboard. There have even been “texting while walking” accidents, so be sure that you don’t hurt yourself and others.

2. Share with care:

Use the same good sense about what you post from your phone as from a computer. Once they’re posted, text, photos, and video are tough to take back, can be copied and pasted elsewhere, and are up there pretty much forever. Think about the people in them (including you!). Reputations are at stake.

3. Don't speak loudly over the phone:

You shouldn't talking in a loud voice (people think it’s necessary but it usually isn’t) and not talking or texting in a way that will disturb others or violate your privacy.

4. Thinking about down time:

Constant texting and talking can affect sleep, concentration, school, and other things that deserve your thought and focus. You need your sleep, and real friends understand there are times you just need to turn off the phone.

5. Sharing location mindfully:

A growing number of apps allow friends to pinpoint each other’s physical location. If you use such a service, do so only with friends you know in person, and get to know the service’s privacy features.

PhonesPicture-in-picture Mode Is Coming To Google Chrome On Android by phonedaddy(op): 3:39pm On Jun 19, 2019
The Picture-in-Picture mode is already available for the Google Chrome browser on the desktop and on some applications on Android such as YouTube, VLC Player, Google Play Movies, Google Duo and Google Maps.

Google is working to implement the Picture-in-Picture API in Chrome on Android to shows videos played in a window on other apps.

The Chromium team is working to bring the functionality to the Chrome browser on Android and the flag is already present in Chrome Canary and can be enabled, but at the moment the functionality is not yet operational

Type chrome://flags in the address bar of the browser and press enter

Search for “Picture” for “Picture in Picture Web API for Android” flag, select “Enabled”Relaunch Chrome browser.

There are a lot of bugs need to be resolved to see the feature in action, we’ll let you know when the PiP mode works for Chrome on Android.

At this point, all that remains is to wait for the Picture-in-Picture feature to become operational on Google Chrome for Android. Here is a link to install or update Chrome Canary through the Play Store of Google.

According to what we learn from a commit called “OneChrome demo”, developers are working on a feature that lets you share phone numbers between systems, users should be able to send the number found online on the Chromebook to their own Android device, the phone should open a dialer with the number already typed in, so you will be able to initiate a call with just one tap.

PhonesDual Hybrid Sim Or Single Sim And Micro SD Slot – What’s Your Favorite?[p by phonedaddy(op): 12:00pm On Jun 17, 2019
Hello friends, smartphone sim arrangement has changed these days. This is due to the large storage that smartphones come with; it is almost irrelevant to include an external storage slot for it.

With the DUAL HYBRID setup, you can choose to use two sim cards and not being able to use the SD card. Alternatively, Use just a sim and memory card.

Whereas the single sim and micro SD slot enables you to only use one sim and SD card. You cannot choose to use the dual sim function.

Between these two setups, which would you prefer?

• DUAL HYBRID

• SINGLE SIM + MICRO SD CARD

PhonesGoogle Play Store Not Working? Here's How To Fix It by phonedaddy(op): 10:32am On Jun 14, 2019
We've all experienced a Google Play Store problem at some point. Whether it's an error message when downloading apps, the Play Store crashes or simply won't open, we have the solutions. Here's what you can do when the Google Play Store doesn't work for you.

There are quite a few factors that could possibly affect the Play Store, we'll run through the troubleshooting methods beginning with simple solutions down to the more complicated.

1. Troubleshooting guide - getting started
First of all you'll want to make sure the problem is on your end and not a wider problem with Google. Check the Play Store status on a service like downdetector, for example. If a lot of users are reporting a similar problem, then chances are it's on Google's side and you'll need to wait for them to fix it.

If you suspect the problem is on the user end, you'll first want to restart your phone. It seems obvious, but this can be a quick solution to many issues. If your problem repeats, then it's time to get to work.

To start off, we want to check a couple of simple things outside of Google Play that might be affecting its performance. Make sure that your date and time settings are correct and that your Internet connection is working properly.

Check your date and time settings
Google checks your Android smartphone's date and time for the Play Store. If the store does not find a time, then it could cause some issues. Google's servers could have a tough time syncing with your device and cause your Play Store to act up.

To fix this issue, you need to go into your the Settings in your Android device. Under System you should see Date and Time. Tap on this and you will see whether your phone is on the Automatic date and timeprovided by your network. If it isn't already then you should toggle it on.

If your device is on automatic and your Google Play Store is still not working then you should manually set the date and time. You first need to turn Automatic date and time off. Then start by entering the date and time with as much accuracy as possible. If this doesn't work, don't worry, there are still many more solutions for getting your Google Play Store up and running again.

Setting the date and time could help if your Google Play Store is not working.

Check your Internet connection
It may seem too simple or easy, but checking your Internet connection could solve the problems you're having. Try switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or vice versa, and see if the problem persists. You should also try switching your phone to "airplane mode" and back again. Finally, you can reset your router to make absolutely sure you have a good connection.

2. Check Google apps
If the Play Store is frozen or glitching, force close it by swiping it away or going to Settings > Apps > All select the Google Play Store and hit "Force stop".

Then, you'll want to make sure that Google Play itself is up to date and clean. This involves making sure you have the latest version of Google Play installed. If you still have problems, you'll want to do some housekeeping. This means clearing the Google Play Store cache and, if this doesn't solve things, going further and clearing out your Play Store data.

If there's still an issue after the Play Store has been cleaned up, we'll have to go a little deeper and clear data and cache on Google Play Services, as well as make sure to Install the latest version of Google Play Services. If the issue persists, the next step (make sure to record your passwords, etc.) is to reset your Google account on your device.

Install the latest version of Google Play
It's silly, but sometimes a Google Play update is available but won't automatically download until days after being released. If you get the APK, you can have the newest version immediately though.

Make sure you have the latest version of Google Play Store.

Clear the Google Play Store cache
In some cases, you can get the Play Store going again by just emptying the cache. The cache is a storage area that temporarily holds data so it can be quickly retrieved without needing to be reloaded. This could solve your problem and emptying it is easy.

First go in the Settings from your smartphone’s home screen. You should then go into your Apps or Application manager, it depends on your device. From there you should either be able to scroll down and hit Clear cache or you might have to first go into Storage then Clear cache.

Once this has been completed, go back into your Google Play Store and see if your problem has been solved. If not, you should try one of the other solutions here

Try clearing the cache.

Clear out your Play Store data
Deleting your data from the Play Store is similar to our first tip but erases quite a bit more. It sets the app back to square one and gets rid of your saved information, hopefully including whatever glitchy data was causing the problem.

Remember, when you do this your files, settings, accounts, databases and other information will be erased. You should make sure you have the log-in information for the account as it will be taken off the Google Play Store account.

To get started, head into your Settings and find the Apps or Application manager. From there you should be able to scroll down to Clear data or go into Storage first then Clear data.

Clearing your cache and/or data could fix the problem you've been having.

Clear data and cache on Google Play Services
It is possible that Play Store problems could stem from issues with Google Play Services. If Google Play Store is the heart of your Android phone, then Google Play Services is its soul. Play Services is the mysterious background process that allows apps to communicate with different parts of your device, enabling them to sync, send push notifications and so on.

If clearing the cache and data in your Google Play Store didn’t work then you may need to go into your Google Play Services and clear the data and cache there. Doing this is easy.

You need to go into your Settings and hit Application manager or Apps. From there, find the Google Play Services app (the puzzle piece). Depending on your device, you should be able to tap the Clear cachebutton or you might need to go into Storage first then hit Clear cache. If that fails to solve the problem, come back to this page and hit Manage space or Manage storage then tap Clear all data.

Clearing the data and cache in Google Play Services can fix your Play Store problems.

Install the latest version of Google Play Services
Another thing that may help is to download and install the latest version of Google Play Services and the Google Play Store. The most current version of the software is likely to be the most stable, so it's useful to keep it updated.

Firstly, you need to make sure your Google Play Store is up-to-date. Go into the Google Play Store app and hit the menu button (three lines in the top left hand corner of your screen). From there tap Settings and under General you should be able to see when your Google Play app updates. Tap Auto-update apps and ensure that Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi is checked. Now, make sure you’re connected to Wi-Fi.

Getting the latest version of Google Play Services is much more difficult and too long to mention here.

Is your Google Play Services app up-to-date?

Reset your Google account on your device
We're now coming to the slightly more drastic solutions. If your Play Store app still isn't working, then you may need to refresh your Google account on your Android device. This will mean your Google account on your entire phone will be reset and not just in the Google Play Store. Make sure you know the account(s) before you start this. You could lose the entire account if you’re not careful.

So to do this, remove your account then add it again. It’s pretty simple to do. Go to your Settings and tap Accounts. Now you need to tap the Google account you want to remove, then tap the menu icon (three dots at the top right) and tap Remove account. Do this for every Google account on your device.

Now you need to re-enter your Google account. Go back into your Settings and tap on Account again. The only thing you should see is Add Account. If you see an account then you forgot to remove one. Tap Add Account and follow the on-screen steps to re-add your account.

Removing your Google account then re-adding it could help.

3. Check third party apps
The steps above should confirm whether the issue lies with the Google Play system itself, but sometimes the problem can originate from a different, related app, that can be interfering with the Play Store. First, check your disabled apps, and make sure that you
enable Download Manager. You should also disable your VPN if you have one.

Check your disabled apps
Many apps need other apps in order to function properly. This is especially true when you're dealing with system apps such as the Google Play Store. If you recently disabled an app that could be your problem. Luckily, this is easy to fix.

Go into your Settings and Application manager or Apps and scroll to the bottom. This is where disabled apps end up. If you see any disabled services, just go into these and hit Enable and see if that helps.

Enable your disabled apps.

Disable your VPN
Having a VPN is a great way to get all your favorite media outside your geographic location. You can even use a VPN to install an app in the Play Store of another country. But your VPN could be causing you problems with your Google Play Store in the region you're currently in.

If you have a VPN enabled on your Android device you should disable it. Go into your Settings and tap More or More networks depending on your device. Hit VPN and toggle it off.

Disable your VPN and that might help.

Enable Download Manager
There is a chance that the Play Store will stop working if your download manager is disabled. If this is the case, the solution is simple.

Go into your Settings and tap either Appsor Application manager (depending on your device). You should either see all of your apps or you might have to choose All. From there find Downloads or Download manager and hit this.

You should be able to see if Download manager is disabled. If it is then you'll see a button marked Enable. Simply tap this button to switch Download manager back on. If all you see are buttons for Force Stopand Disable (possibly grayed-out, as seen below), then Download manager is not disabled and you can rule this possibility out.

Disabling the Android Download Manager wreaks havoc on your system.

4. Drastic solutions
Now, we're getting to some more technical solutions that need to be done with care, so make sure you've tried the above methods first. Now, if you've rooted your device, then we recommend to delete the file "hosts.txt" in your system directory. If this doesn't work or if you don't want to root your phone, then return to the Play Store and uninstall previous updates.

Finally, as a last resort, you can always
perform a factory data reset on your smartphone. This will erase all your data, so make sure to back up first.

Delete the file "hosts.txt" (requires root)
For advanced users who have already rooted their device, open your root-privileged file explorer of choice. Then go to your root/system directory and search for "hosts.txt" and delete the file. Note: do not touch any of the other system files!

Uninstall previous updates to Google Play
Generally, when you have a problem with an app you can just uninstall it and then reinstall it. Well, that works for some apps, but the Google Play Store is a system app on your Android device. What you can do instead is uninstall previous updates to the app and this might help your problem.

You first need to head into your Settings, tap either Apps or Application manager, and you should either see all of your apps or you might have to choose All. From there find the Google Play Store and tap Uninstall updates.

If your Google Play Store is still not working then you need to go back and reinstall the updates. From there, head down to our last solution.

Perform a factory data reset on your smartphone
If you're still facing problems after having tried all of the above, then you may have little choice but to do a factory reset. This is a drastic measure and there are consequences. All of your data will be lost. So you should perform a complete backup beforehand.

Once your data is backed it's time to do a reset. Go to your Settings and tap Backup & reset. Now, make sure the Back up my data slider is on. Tap Back up account to select which account you want your data backed up to. Ensure you have access to this account.

Once you've done this, go to the Backup & reset menu and tap the Factory data reset button at the bottom. Confirm that you want to do this, and your phone will be as it was when you bought it. Your data will be restored when you log back into your Google account.

Make sure you back everything up before performing a factory reset.

Did these solutions work for you? Do you have any other advice to get the Google Play Store working again? Let us know in the comments.

Phones[ How It Works ] What Is A RAM In Smartphone by phonedaddy(op): 9:07am On Jun 10, 2019
This is a new series about all parts your smartphones and how it work on device!
Almost all modern smartphones are equipped withRAM. But not all know how it work! Today you'll know more about this smartphone detail. We will not talk about how they are produced! Let's talk about the main concepts and technical characteristics.

What is RAM, why is it needed and what does it affect?

Smartphone RAM is a parameter that determines the level of gadget performance and its ability to multitask. The more RAM installed in the device, the easier it is to work with several demanding applications at the same time.

Modern operating systems actively use RAM to store and process important and frequently used data in it. If electronic memory did not use RAM, then all operations would have been much slower, and reading from a permanent source of memory (ROM) would have required much more time. And more or less multi-threaded processing would be almost impossible.
Using RAM allows applications to run and run faster. Data can be easily processed and wait for their turn due to addressability (all machine words have their own addresses).

Why do we need RAM?

RAM or random access memory- is the link between the processor and the operating system, because it stores temporary information necessary for running applications to run.

This means that, if necessary, the memory can directly refer to one, necessary block, without affecting the rest. The speed of random access does not change from the location of the necessary information, which is a huge plus.
RAM, favorably with volatile memory, almost zero effect of the number of read operations write to the service life and durability. With respect to all the subtleties in the production, RAM rarely fails. In most cases, damaged memory begins to make mistakes that lead to the collapse of the system or the unstable operation of many components of the device, or its complete failure.

The need to constantly add new models of RAM is dictated not only by marketing. The number of programs and processes with which users work every day is growing every day. Smartphone for quick launch and stable operation of programs and games need a lot of RAM.
Branded shell manufacturers, for example, Flyme or MIUI, usually require more resources than pure Android - this is explained by the built-in applications, additional features and visual improvements of the interface. For this reason, manufacturers are forced every year to install more RAM.

200718ttplpspiqep22iu3.jpg.thumb.jpg

What does RAM contain?

We all know that the more RAM, the more applications can work simultaneously. However, this is not all that precious gigabytes are spent on.
Android runs on the Linux kernel. The kernel is stored in a special type of compressed file and retrieved directly into RAM when the device is turned on. The kernel, drivers, and kernel modules that control device components are stored in this reserved area of memory.
RAM disk for virtual files. Some folders and files in the system directory are actually virtual. They are created at every boot and contain information such as battery level and processor frequency. For their storage is allocated a little more RAM. Data, IMEI and modem settings are saved in NVRAM (non-volatile memory that is not erased when the phone is turned off). At the same time, with each download, they are transferred to RAM for modem operation. The graphics card also needs memory to work.It is called VRAM. Our smartphones use integrated graphics processors that do not have their own memory. Therefore, a certain amount of RAM is reserved for the graphics adapter.
All the RAM remaining from the consumers listed above is available to the graphical shell of the operating system and installed applications. In this case, in one part of the remaining amount of RAM, the data of running applications is stored, and the second is always left free in case the user starts another program. If the amount of free memory decreases, then previously launched applications are unloaded from the RAM.

To date, the amount of RAM that the operating system reserves for its needs, is about 1 GB. Although manufacturers can apply their own settings and additional modules, which to some extent affect this figure,

If the operating system and applications are sufficiently optimized, it is not necessary to chase the number of gigabytes. A well-known and illustrative example: smartphones and tablets running on iOS, often have less RAM than competitors on Android. This does not prevent them from showing good results in everyday use, and in performance tests.

Types of RAM?

In addition to the capacity of the RAM is also different speed. The higher the number characterizing the RAM, the faster it will work. There is even a statement that according to the possibilities of4 GB (LPDDR3) approximately correspond to 3 GB (LPDDR4). Perhaps the difference is not so big, but it definitely is.It is logical that it is recommended to choose a phone with an LPDDR4 module.

How much RAM should be in a smartphone?

When choosing a phone, it is important to consider that in most cases the operating system with the shell will “bite off” approximately 1-1.5 GB of RAM.Each of the running processes consumes a certain amount of resources, for example:
WhatsApp: about20-30 MB.
YouTube: about100-200 MB.

In today's reality, 3-4 GB of RAM in a smartphone should be enough to comfortably use the device, applications and games. Gadgets with 1-2 GB of RAM today can no longer boast of smoothness and speed, however, they are quite suitable for running a small number of programs, simple games and calls.

Those who are looking for a modern and powerful smartphone for any task, manufacturers offer devices with 6 or 8 GB of RAM. Now it may seem that such a volume of RAM is probably not needed by the phone, but in the era of machine learning, artificial intelligence and augmented reality, extra RAM will not hurt.

In the end, I can say that the speed of the smartphone isnot affected by the amount of GB of RAM - as its type!
Therefore, no need to chase the volume and choose quality!

Thanks for your time

PhonesYou Can Now Video Call Up To 8 People With Google Duo by phonedaddy(op): 9:13am On May 27, 2019
Google’s video calling service, Google Duo, has updated the number of participants supported in a video call to 8.

Through a product update published by Google on Friday, the tech giant further confirmed that the roll-out will serve both Android and iOS users.

“Now up to eight people can catch up with group calling on Duo. Group calling is now available globally on both iOS and Android,” read the statement.

Google says the video calls are end-to-end encrypted, like all other Duo calls and video messages, therefore only participants in the calls can access the conversations.

Alongside the video calls update, Duo’s ‘Video Messages’ — a feature which enables users to leave a video message to their callers when they cannot pick up — will now be customizable by drawing or adding text and emojis.

This is not the first time that Google Duo is making changes to its video call feature in recent times to keep up with its competitors.

In February this year, Google announced that the platform would extend video calls to web users, having been only limited to mobile apps since its introduction in August 2016.

Currently, Duo’s main competitors: Apple’s FaceTime, Skype, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp support 32, 50, 50 and 4 participants in a video call respectively.

Today topic is about how to help revive your phone if dropped in water...

Enjoy

When your cell phone falls in the water, you don't necessarily need to start shopping for a replacement right away. If you quickly dry out the phone and its battery, the device may survive the experience. If you do not dry the battery properly, however, water can damage and corrode its sensitive components.

1.Remove the battery from the cell phone as soon as possible

If it's not removable visit a professional to get it dried

2.Remove your phone's battery cover and take out the battery.

3.Bury the phone in a ziplock bag full of uncooked rice. Rice is great for absorbing liquid and this is actually a common method for drying smartphones and tablets.

4.Let your phone dry for a day or two. Do not be tempted to switch it on to see if it still works. Put your SIM card in an old phone,

After a couple of days, you can remove the phone from the rice, insert the battery and switch it on.

5.If your phone doesn't turn on, try charging it. If that doesn't work, the battery may be damaged. You could try a replacement battery, or consider taking your smartphone to a repair shop to be checked by a professional

6.If your smartphone has turned on and it is running as it should, you should still keep a close eye on it for the next few days, to see if you notice anything out of the ordinary. Play some music to check the speakers and ensure the touch screen still responds as it should

Tip
Put a wet cell phone in a bowl of uncooked rice to dry it out thoroughly. Rice will absorb the moisture.
Warning !
Never dry your phone with a heat source, such as an oven, hairdryer or microwave.

And visit a professional engineer when you noticed any changes in the behaviour of the phone

PhonesEffects Of Memory Almost Full On Your Android by phonedaddy(op): 3:22pm On May 22, 2019
When your phone is low on storage space, it can start to seriously slow down. Here are a few signs that your phone is nearing its storage limits.
On Android, your phone’s storage seems like it’s never enough. Even if you have 32GB or more of storage space, it seems like the phone’s pre-installed apps and operating system take up more room than they should. Low phone storage can be a real problem, especially in ways that seriously slow down your phone. If you have low RAM, you can easily clear up space on your phone using Memory Booster.

The Memory Booster feature lets you close apps running (without your knowledge) in the background of your phone. This, in turn, frees up RAM, which will speed up your device. That way, your phone will no longer freeze or crash. But what if you don’t know whether or not your phone is low on memory? There are several ways you can tell if you need to create more space to help your phone operate properly.

You Can’t Download the Apps You Want

You’ve decided you really want a new app, but when you try to download it, Android tells you that you have “Insufficient Storage Available.” If you want to download the app, you’ll have to get rid of apps or phone files to make room for it. Consider moving certain files and apps to an SD card for more storage space on your device.

Your Phone Can’t update your Apps

When your phone storage is low, your Android will tell you that it can’t update the apps that you already have, either. This message means that your phone doesn’t have enough room to run the updating processes.

Your Phone Lags And Slows Down

When you don’t have enough storage space to run programs on your phone’s main memory (ROM), the phone will store parts of your programs on secondary, or virtual, memory. If this happens, your phone slows down because of the operating system. The operating system will slow down since the phone has to switch between primary and secondary memory, slowing down your phone’s operating times.

Certainly, a slow phone is not an option for most people, and it can be frustrating not to have enough storage space on your phone for the apps and programs you want to use. However, you can help make sure you have enough memory by regularly using Memory Booster to close background apps and speed up your device.

You are right bro... Anytime someone posts about infinix on Nairaland, it's either the person wanna complain about a fault or he wants to sell the phone.

You never actually see anyone saying he's enjoying the infinix phone he's using.

Like I say, just leave him to continue using his trash.

I think phonedaddy and phonton1321 are phone engineers. Customers always bring faulty infinix, tecno and Itel phones to them so they can repair. That's why they are encouraging others to use the transsion phones so they can continue making money repairing the phones.
If no one used Transsion phones, there would be no phone for them to repair grin

@bolded can be the only plausible reason for them supporting Infinix phones, because I can't think of any other reason why a sane person will go to the market and start buying infinix lipsrsealed
when you and your alternate are done ranting like individuals suffering from acute multiple personality disorder let us know. i wont condone your insolence. your mud throwing campaign is not going to go anywhere. you are obviously a laggard who knows nothing about phones and i am sure your seniors here will teach a thing or two.
Choice of what phone to use rests on the shoulders of individuals and their choices just as you have made yours.

Or maybe we should start from the so called gorrila glass 2 or have you finished clearing many ads on your RN 7.
